Flash :: How Can I Import Quicktime Movie Into Flash MX 2004

Publish Flash MX 2004 File As QuickTime Movie
I have Flash MX 2004 Professional and would like to publish my .fla file as a QuickTime movie. When I go through the "Publish Settings" dialog box and click on "Publish" I get an error message "The installed version of QuickTime does not have a handler of this type for Macromedia Flash Movie." I have version 7.3.1 of QuickTime. Is there any way for me to be able to get by this error message? Do I have to download an earlier version of QuickTime?

Is there a limit when importing?

movie is 3200 secs x 12fps = 38,400 frames

the progress bar gets right to the end then Flash 'unexpectedly quits'

I tried inserting 38k frames beforehand but still no luck.

I'm just wondering beacuse I don't need it and I prefer to have as few programs on my computer as possible.

No Sound Coming When Trying To Import Quicktime Into A Flash File
Hi guys, I am really stuck on this one, I am trying since morning to try and import a quicktime file .mov into a flash file. Everything works fine except that the sound doesn't come..
On the option to select "import audio" i did check that, but still no sound..

Iam using Flash MX 2004 Pro and there is a feature that when I want to publish a movie it says I can export a movie in quicktime. I tried it and I get the following error. "Flash MX - An error occured because a required QuickTime component could not be found." I have QuickTime Pro 7 and do not understand this error. What am I missing.

i'm trying to import a Quicktime movie into Flash and it's telling me that the audio isn't supported. on top of that, when i go to publish the SWF the movie doesn't even show up. what am i doing wrong? MX 2004 is supposed to be able to handle and control Quicktimes correct? are my movies not at the correct settings? i have cleaner so i can make the .mov whatever i like. thanks in advance.

Quicktime Export In Flash Mx 2004
Does anyone know why I can't export to quicktime in flash mx 2004. I've definitely done it in the past with a previous version of flash. When I try it gives me this message:
installed version of quicktime does not have a handler for this type of flash movie - please consult documentation.
Since I first tried to do this I have upgraded to Quicktime Pro thinking that was the answer but it has made no difference at all...

Can anyone help me as I'm scratching a bald patch on my head over this one...

Please Help Me Import Swish Into Flash 2004
Hello all,

I really need some with this problem. I have a Swish project that I have exported as a Shock Wave File, following the recomended way i.e. choosing to export in SWF5 format & unchecking the Offset to use as a movie clip.

Then imported the SWF into the library of my Flash Form Application. When I put the clip onto the stage the clip does not show at all. When I use Swish2 instead the Swish project will at least show up in the Flash pro ject despite looping in Flash which is really annoying, as it doesn't loop in Swish 2. But for some reason the SwishMax version does not even appear visible when I preview it in Flash 2004.

Can you please help.

P.S. I'll attach the file ijust in case it's of any help.

Import Video Into Flash Mx 2004

am trying to import a mpeg4(100mb) video into Flash mx 2004 and is causing alot of problems. I though this version of Flash was supposed to be optimised for video playback thus no need to opt for Director ???!! Anyway, am importing it and the playback quality is really crap and pixelated eventhough the original video is good quality.

Details:
Video dimensions 464 x 352
Sorenson compression options i have left to the default except quality which is set to 100.

Does anybody have any idea why the play back quality is so bad or could anybody recommend the sorenson compression options to use? Any help would be great coz am going to burn onto cd-rom for distribution and don't want to depend on users having quicktime on their machines.

HOW To Import Vector Imagine In Flash MX 2004?

I created in Fireworks some vector imagines with some effects on n I want to import them in Flash MX 2004 to animate them caz it's easier in Flash then do it frame by frame in Fireworks.

The problem is that after I imported them in Flash and I
-open the library: the imagines importat r bitmaps now
-when I test the movie: the imagines have not the same quality. They look not clear!!! In Flash, the fla looks ok, the swf does not. In Fireworks look great n also when I viewd them in browsers.

I made a vector imagine with the pen tool in Flash n when I animate it the colors are all fine. How can I keep the imagines I want to import as vectors?

Can anyone help please with any useful sugestion?

Quicktime Import
Any help with these particular video embedding problems would be great:

1) My Flash movie has a long delay before starting the first scene, even though the scene containing the QUicktime comes later (probably b/c of the mov file size). I tried re-compressing but problem remains. Is there any other way so that my Flash plays without the long delay?

2) The audio is out of sync with the video.

3) The Quicktime clip plays even when moved to another scene (you can hear the audio in the bg) almost as if there is a button on the next scene that is somehow "triggering" the trailer to start again.

Anyone who has some great tips for importing Quicktime trailers into FLash, I would appreciate any help.

Something really odd has happened. I just got a new pc and now I can't seem to import tgas into flash anymore. It use to work fine.

I have quicktime imstalled so I dont know why it is not working... any ideas?

How can you import a mov file into MX with all the frames as keyframes?

As of now, I can only import as one single object and the dialog box asking me to add 2000+ frames each time I cut or paste frames.

Quicktime - No Sound Import?
I recently was sent 3 quicktime movies to put into flash and one of them imported the sound fine. The other two however, did not import the sound (i got a message saying that sound could not be imported in the dialogue box - it had a little yellow triangle next to the message)

Hi, I'm sure the answers in here somewhere but the forum seems to be having problems apart from being incredibly slow it times out on a search.

Apologies if this has been asked before.

I've tried several formats of encoding and although Flash import dialogue suggests audio can be imported playback is silent. What should I look for to make an imported quicktime movie play sound within Flash MX?

Import .swf Into Quicktime = No Sound
I have a bunch of .swf files I need to import into Quicktime then export to be viewed on an iPod. I don't have access to the .flas, all I have are the swfs.

The problem I'm having is after imported the .swfs into Quicktime I'm exporting the file as a mv4, but I'm getting no audio. I'm hearing audio inside of Quicktime, but it's getting lost in the export.

I'm working on a Mac with Quicktime Pro (7) and Flash 8.

Anyone have any ideas?

JSFL Quicktime Import
I'm currently writing a script for our scene planners at the studio I work for which automatically imports the audio and quicktime files needed. The problem is, in Flash 8, the document.importFile() command involks the Import Video wizard when I try to import Quicktimes.

Is there any way to supress the dialogue and just have it use default settings? If not, I'm going to have to get someone to babysit the script while it runs, importing aprox 250 quicktimes per episode. Which would suck.

QuickTime Import Troubles
I have been trying to import a QuickTime into Flash and keep getting the following error:

"Note: No supported audio track in this file was detected."

It imports the movie and it plays fine but I can't get any sound...

I have been exporting the QuickTimes from Adobe Premier 6.5 on PC trying various different setting and then trying to import to Flash on my Mac.

Flash won't read some of the files at all and the closest I have got is with no sound.

Has anyone any pointers and the best way to export from Premier so Flash will accept it?

Should I look into getting the a plug-in for Premier so I can export to .flv?

FMX QuickTime Video Import Question
Is there a file size limit on the QuickTime videos that can be imported? I have a 83.3Mb file compressed using Sorenson Video 3 and no audio compression. If I take a 10 second segment of the file, ~9Mb, it imports just fine. But the full file keeps prompting FMX that it needs more memory to import the file. I boosted the required memory for FMX to 192Mb of RAM.... and it's still not enough.

I want to put it in my flash site, but the file itself has a .PANO format. ....and flash doesn't recognize it. I don't understand it, because it seems to open as quicktime, and it works, but it doesn't have a .mov format to it?

What is PANO? And how can I make this work?

Saving A Flash Movie As A Quicktime Movie - Actionscripted Movement Is Lost
I am trying to export my flash movie as a quicktime file for use in a dvd. Unfortunately only the tweening done manually occurs in the quicktime file and any movment that is actionscripted does not occur. Is there a way to get the actionscripted movement to work in an exported quicktime movie? Thanks.

MX 2004 Saved Out As Quicktime Mov. Willnot Open On PC Or In Premier
Please help. We're new to Flash:
We created a Flash presenataion with Mac MM Studio MX 2004...exported it as a QuickTime movie. It will open on our Macs in QT but not on any of our PC's, even when we try to open it from within QT.
We tried upgrading QT for the PC and that did not work either. We are also trying to add an audio track to the Flash by importing it inot in Adobe Premiere Pro after saving to the QT format. We are 4 days behind on this project...mostly we want to ensure that we can add audio and that our prospect will be able to open it on his PC. We prefer to send it to him on a CD rather than navigate him to our website because of the learning curve associated with us accomplishing that.

Midnight approacheth..can anyone give some direction..should we go about this differently?

I'm currently working on a Multimedia Showreel using Flash MX 2004 and I need to be able to play an external movie file from with in the flash movie. I don't want to embed the movie as it is 60MB+. Is there anyway to do it?

Import Problems In MX 2004 Pro
Hi All,
I got a recent situation which has me completely perplexed. I have a QT movie (4:20 long) that I've exported using EVERY export setting in QT Player (ver. 7.1.5). I tried importing every one of them into Flash MX Pro 2004 and I get no sound when I do (even though there are no alerts during import).
I then took the QT files and turned them into .flv files using Sorenson Squeeze and VX30. All of thoses .flv files, when imported into Flash have no sound as well. I don't have the 'Mute Sound' checked. I heard that maybe it's because the original file is interlaced. I've tried de-interlacing it with the MPEG Clipstream app. but no luck there as well. Can anyone take a guess?

How To Run Quicktime In My Flash Movie?
Here is the situation:

A simple Flash movie containing a red stage 800x600 pixels. On the stage is a window 320x240 and two buttons beside the window.

What I want to do:

The user presses a button and flahs opens a quicktime movie from a specific directory and plays it in the 320x240 window on the stage.

I know how to use the AttachMovie script, but as far as I can tell, this script only opens up .swf files.

I also know how to execute the quicktime file by using the Get URL script, but this opens the quicktime file in a seperate window.

How do I open an external quicktime file within a flash stage without importing it to the Flash library?

Is this possible? If so, is there a tuturial or actionscript that you could point me to?

Quicktime Movie Into Flash MX
I have a 3MB Quicktime Moive that I would like accessed into my Flash Site. Simple, the user hits the button and the movie plays. The issue is that when I import the Quicktime Movie into Flash MX using "Embed video in Macromedia Flash document, or Link to external file, I see the frames, Sorenson Spark window coms up and I can import the file either by just importing, or choosing Edit the video first, but there is a message:

"Note:No supported audio track in this file was detected"

If I just double click on the movie from Windows, I hear sound and see the movie just fine.

What is the deal?

Ok so here is the dilema. I can convert my .mov files to Flash movies and
embed the flash movies on my pages or just embed the .mov files in my pages
with quicktime. Is there any pros or cons to doing it one way or the other?
Why would someone do it in Flash when they could just do it in Quicktime
(minus the fact that you could customize everything in Flash)
