Flash :: How Can I Use An Intro Animation As A Preloader?

Playing A New Intro Animation On Release During The Previous Outro Animation?
I know about external swfs and having intros and outros, but I want my intros and outros to overlap...

for example, I want a background that's red and rotates when you click button 1, but I want to it rotate and change yellow when I click button 2, or rotate and change green when I click button 3...

I don't want it to rotate than fade to black and finish before the next animation has started, cause otherwise I don't get the smooth colour change from red to yellow, rather it's red to black than yellow...any tutorials that can help me?

Hello guys! i've created a simple website using dreamweaver.. I have an intro animation on it, that play after you click the "ENTER SITE" on the splash page.

my question is this... After the intro animation finish playing, how can i make it jump to the main page without pressing any butttons?? Remember its only a normal HTML site yah?

Skipping Intro Animation
I’m relatively new to flash and I created an animated intro on the home page. Is there a way so that once a user sees the intro and goes into the site and then they want to come back to the home page it automatically skips the animation? I know that’s kind of wordy, but that’s the best way I can explain it. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Animation Intro And Outro
hello, i'm looking for a simple script for a simple site.
basically i need a script that allows me to have an "animation intro and outro" for every file that i load into the main site.

i have seen a lot of flash sites like this
here is what i mean:
user is at at homepage.
user clicks on "page2" , then the animation starts ...goes till end point, and loads "page2" , and comes in the animation for "page2"
user clicks on "page3" ... animation outro for "page2" starts...goes till end point and loads "page3" and so on.

ok thats my best explanation for what i'm lookin for ,
basically its just and in and out animation for each movie that loads.

if this makes sense , please help!

Intro Animation Question
Okay, basically, I'm trying to get Flash to run an intro animation that does the following:
1. Fades in to an image of a lightbulb on a black background
2. On click, moves an electrical cord to look like the lightbulb is being plugged in
3. switches the first lightbulb to a new, "glowing" one (turns on the lightbulb).
4. Background fades to an image of an office (upside down).
5. Rotate whole canvas 180% so the office is right-side up.
6. Items in office become buttons to click on.

I can already get the fade in (with a transition), and I have already designed the images as small .gifs, I just need to get them to move around. I can also cut out the buttons in photoshop and simply paste them from the library onto the background. It's just the animations that are stumping me.

Any ideas? HELP!

[F8] Intro Animation Play Once
I've seen this done, but not sure how it's created. I would like to be able to create a Flash intro animation. This animation will be placed on the index page. I only want this animation to play once, so if you click around to other subpages and go back to the home page, the intro animation will not play all over again on that computer. I'm sure it could play much later in the day or the next day etc. I just don't want it constantly playing every time you click reload or click back.

Looping Animation @ End Of An Intro
I'm working on a flash intro now that I've almost finished and I'm trying to get past one thing... At the end of the intro, the button comes up that gives you the option to watch it again. When that happens, I would like to have an animation on the end that repeats until you select something. So far I've put the animation into a MC and then put that on the timeline at the end. It plays it but it repeats back to the beginning of the intro instead of repeating to the beginning of the last mc. I was thinking that movie clips repeat themselves if you don't tell them not to. Is there some code I have to put in to tell it to repeat? That may not be enough information so far but can anyone offer any suggestions?

I have completed my first flash web page now and am looking to begin animating both cartoons and an intro for the site.

I've looked around and have surfaced nothing to help me with this. I look at some of the great animations out there i.e the killer intro's on this site, the wicked stuff over at weebl-stuff.com and many more.

Intro And Exit Animation
i have been searching sites lately and i've seen some great sites with intro animations and exit animations on buttons or when you click on a button a movie will oad in and as soon as you press another option from the nav. the current movie will animate out and load in the next movie smoothly..my question is, all of that done with a movie that has a lable on the timeline "intro" the animation under it plays until it is stopped by a "stop action" & after that a exit animation will played when (not sure though what the action is that causes to trigger the exit animation and to load the next movie ..?? i'm wondering how the process works where the aniamtion will load in but as soon as another option is pressed the current animation exits and loads in the next movie and plays the intro to that ..i guess i'm just confused with the actionscript part to that or my method could be completly wrong..pls help..
if there are any tutorials to lead me to a better understanding that would be great or if it could be some simple code i was thing it may be the if and else code ..not sure

Want To Use A Flash Animation For Website Intro
I just made this simple animation with some fading text, a sound, and a link button on it. The button sends you to the actual site.

What i want to know is how would I go about making this into a splash screen before my web page. All I really know is that it can easly be done through dream weave but that doesnt help me because I dont have dreamweave. Also one it is there any special thing I need to look for in a hosting company (some feature they need to support in order to get my flash to work)?

on a side note I tried to export my animation to a .avi file but none of the tweens work and I really dont have the slightest idea why.

Intro Animation And Static Layout
Hello,
I had built my interface on frame 1 on main timeline with static elements.

I was under the impression that if I wanted to animate all of those elements for my main index page, I needed to do it in a new movieclip timeline and convert those items to symbols. Then set up my tweens on those layers?

When I do that, the main timeline shows through, and it looks as if I'm animating over my static interface on my main timeline. Any suggestions?

Intro HUGE Animation Issue?
PLEASE HELP
I've pretty much finished an intro for the new site I'm designing, 30 sec. It's HUGE. I've looked at the size report and the frames that look huge are the parts that have text, which seems weird. The only thing I can think of is because the text is animated and is a separate graphic symbol. The pictures in the intro are kinda big, but nothing compared to where these text animations load. The music isn't big at all either.
If I were to bring all the layers of the animations onto layers directly on scene1 will this makea difference? I don't want to waste my time. It is VERY important that this not be so huge. I have a preloader, but it takes so long it seems like dialup and I'm on high speed. Here's a link to the intro, so you can check it out.

SharedObject, Using It To Play An Intro Animation Only Once
Hi all,

Having some difficulty getting my sharedobject to operate. All I am trying to do is have my intro animation play only once, so that I can use the same swf on multiple pages without showing the intro animation every time.

If the 3rd page was viewed first the intro animation would play but then if the 2nd page was viewed the intro animation would not play (because it was already played on page 3).

Different Intro Animation In External Swf, Based On A Var's Value
I feel this could be pretty basic for you guys. Here's the deal:

I need an external swf to check a var's value and decide how to animate. If value == "something" then animate in like this, else, animate in like that.

Now, a file is loaded with LoadManager class, and a function from this class sends a string to the loaded swf, and based on that string it animates out. I've tried to make the same function set a public var's value inside the LoadMangaer class, but i can't acces it from the external swf.

It will probably make sence when you look at the fla and the LoadManager class, so here's the attachment. Hope you can help, I've been dwelling on this for ages. Tnx a million.

I Would Like To Have My Intro Animation Transition To My Html.index
I have an intro animiation that makes my homepage "appear" (zoom in buttons, fade in logo banner). When the movie clip is finished, I would like it to open the home page that is identical to the end of the clip with out the user really noticing. Is this possible?
The obstacles I encounter are:
1. I don't know the actionscript that makes the swf file appear in a "regular" browers (meaning with the toolbars and buttons)
2. I don't know how to open an html file from within the swf file (_self)

I have a flash animation used as an intro of sorts of a webpage. When the animation ends, I need it to link directly to another html page, the main page of the site. Is there action script to do this? Or do I just need to employ a redirect?

Site Structure: How To Handle Intro Animation?
Hey all,

I'm wondering how better developers are structuring the introductory animation of full flash sites. Every flash site seems to have some sort of introduction animation which sets the stage, prior to which none of the menus or layout or information is in its final/useable position or state. So I have a few questions:

1. How are you dealing with preloaders? Are they loaded into the main movie as an external .sfw? If so, how are you calling the next movie to be loaded? OR do you put all your preloader animation in scene 1 and your main movie stuff in scene 2? OR do you put your preloader in frame 1 and the rest of your stuff in frame 2, etc? What's the most effecient way of dealing with this?

2. When using dynamically created menus, do you use a separate movieclip to create the introductory animation of the menu items, and once in place, replace the movieclip with the actual menu? Or, while looping to create the menu, do you use code to animate the menu items into place?

3. Background images? What is the best way to load these? Do you include a file like this in the library, or do you load them into a movieclip?

4. Preloaders for external .sfw's, are they included at the beginning of the external .sfw, or are they contained within the main movie?

Flash Intro Animation In Neverending Loop
I'm using a PHP script for the Flash detection on a client website. Site's been running fine but lately the client has reported problems getting past the flash animation begins once a user visits the site. And the weird thing is -- they're the only ones reporting this problem, across all browsers!

Basically what happens for them is the preloader animation appears, but then the browser begins attempting to redirect, but it never does. It just clicks and clicks...

Anyone ever see anything like that? And would an end user's ISP ever affect flash rendering?

Intro Music Wont Sync W/animation In Preview Mode...

I just finished my intro, i have a song that plays on Event in the first frame...anyways, when i press PLAY and preview the intro in flash program itself(on canvas), the song goes directly well with the pace of the animations, however, when i do a publish preview in internet explorer, the song and animations are slightly off with each other. it seems that the animations are faster and the song slowed down for some reason, so now everthing is off pace.

any help???

Intro Animation Randomly Jumps And Begins On Arbitrary Frame...WTF?
I'm not exactly sure how best to describe this recurring issue, but here goes:

The first frame of a flash movie receives a query string from its web page. Something to the effect of '?homepage=true'. An if-then statement within the flash movie decides if homepage=true, then play the animation, else jump to a static frame. Not really brain surgery.

The problem I'm having is when a user first visits the website, the animation plays normally - THEN the next page they visit, the animation arbitrarily starts anywhere between frame one and the intended resting frame. All other pages after that second page behave normally.

WTF.

Do 'gotoAndPlay' and other frame control commands just not work 100% of the time on frame one?

Preloader With Skip Intro To Html?
I am new to Flash, but have to do some flash for a contract that I just landed. We are only designing a intro page in flash, the rest of the site will be done in php. The flash page should have a skip button, so that the visitor can exit the flash page and go to the main website page. I have made a preloader that has a % counter indicating how much of the file still need to be loaded. The file is about 4mb. We want to be able to have somebody just skip the flash file all together. I have a "skip into" button on the flash preloader page, linked to the php file, but it does not work. It keeps on loading the flash file instead.
Any ideas? The file can be seen at http://www.naturalbodybuilding.net/intro.html right now it is linking to an html file, but it will change later to a php.

Skip Intro And Bastard Preloader
I have a BIG intro in my website and I would like the user to be able to avoid it if they do not want to wait, the problem is that, the final Interface for the web is not too heavy but at the end of the same movie with the intro.
I wonder if it is possible to Skip the intro and to go in the movie where interface starts working, only preloading the weight of those final frames, not the whole fu%"@? movie with the intro.

Uploading My Flash Intro With Preloader

i am doing my first flash intro. i have completed the preloader tutorial (http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx/p...preloader.htm, is this an "external preloader"???) by lostinbeta and have put my intro after that on the same .fla file. First of all is this the correct way to do it???

Secondly, i am unsure when it comes to actually putting my flash intro on a .html page. The way i do it is go to "File/Export Movie" and save my preloader and intro (which are all in one file) as a .swf file. Then i go to dreamweaver, click on the flash button and insert my flash intro in. Is this the right way to do this??

The only reason i ask this is because when i test it by uploading the files on my webspace it takes so long to load that i have never actually seen it on the page (and my web provider is not incredibly slow either), also the intro is small, like only 3 frames long. This is what makes me think i am doing something wrong. I tested the tutorial i did as well and it never loads on my page but loads extremely quickly on kirupa.com URL above.

Possibly someone can walk me through the way they upload a flash intro with percentage preloader. Any help would be great

AS2 Preloader W. Intro & Outro Animations...
Hello, I was wondering if anyone could point me to a good tutorial, explain the process, show me some code, whatever may help me to achieve the type of preloader I am trying to build. Obviously, there are plenty of tutorials on building preloaders out there, but most of them use older techniques. What I want to accomplish is to build a preloader using AS2 (since that is what I have been learning) and possibly basing it off of the MovieClipLoader class and it's methods since it has a lot of built in functionality for this sort of thing. I would like to know if anyone could help me figure out the best, and most "to the point" way of constructing a reuseable preloader this way. I want the preloader to be able to be used for the initial load of the site as well as any external swfs that may need to be loaded from within the site. Another key desire of mine, is to have the preloader "animate in" BEFORE it starts preloading, and then "animate out" AFTER the load is complete, but BEFORE the content is visible. I'm sure you guys know exactly the type of thing I am describing, I just have never done this before and need a little help the first time so I can get it right. Preloader, Flash Intro To Web Page Question
Yes, I am new to flash. No, I am not new to HTML but right now the Left brain is not connecting to the right.

I am making a portfolio site. I want to have a cool flash intro (about 14 sec long) then on to the website. I am currently working on the intro and burning my eyebrows having to figure out flash by myself. (I am an art director w/ 14 yrs experience in Photoshop, illustrator and all that good stuff that is dying to get into the moving images world) The only downside is everyone around me is as non-flash as I and nobody can help me.

OK, on to my question... I am making this intro. I have the intro done but I can't figure out how does the preloader come into the whole thing. The intro will be a swf file. When people go into my website the HTML page will tell the swf file to start loading and play automatically? Or do I have to have a preloader? how does the preloader exist? Is it a movie clip in my intro swf or how does it work?

Once I have the swf file done I imagine I have to put a button for them to click on to go on to the web page? Or can you automatically end the swf file and drop them into the html page? The transition of these items got me confused. How big a file must be to have a preloader?

I appreciate the explanation. I have web sites done but they are only using html, javascript and css. I want to get flash going in my sites!! Waaaah!!! Any help I can get will be appreciated!!

I have a flash intro with a preloader. I also have a flash web page with a preloader. After the flash intro is complete. I don't want them to wait for another preloader that is for the webpage.

Ideas of solutions:

1 - Combining preloaders?
2 - Having the web page preloader run during the intro in the background. (preferred if possible)

How do you do this???

Logo&Preloader Intro With Transitions, And Navigation Help
Hey.
I'm fairly new to flash and AS3 but I think I'm getting the hang of it.

Anyway, Ive been developing a website with flash for a couple of days.
My problem is that I'd want to have a nice intro animation, where the site logo, and the preloader zoom in from the middle of the page, I managed to get the logo to zoom in by converting it to a MC, and then with action script and a tutorial add the transition to it.

My problem is that my preloader consists of more than 1 part, and only 2 of the parts are MCs, border and the loading bar.
So i'd need ideas on how to make build this up, a piece of code wont really help me much as Id also need to know how to structure it.
E.g. First make the animation, then the next frame the real preloader pops in and loads etc..

If I could get help on that I think i could manage to make the outro zoom myself.

My second problem is that I've made a button:

As you can see, if you test it, on the down right corner, the button triggers even though the cursor is not on the button itself.
And If you download the source, the outline and the graphic are not correct. (Cant really explain)

My third point is that can i make navigation bar, lets say of 5 buttons, in 1 piece of code, to trigger a loder class, to load a movie in the middle-right of the screen, or do i have to code the buttons separately?
And I tried to google on how to load a external movie iwth loader class to a specific position, but i couldnt find, so if oyu happen to have any idea, tell me.

I'm fairly new here and my post seems a bit like "QQ i want website make me plz" but I have been ripping my ass off the past 2 days with flash, and I think that im starting to understand AS3 a bit more.

Shared Objects Used To Skip Intro With A Preloader
I would like to use the shared object scripting to skip an intro if a user has visited the site, but i am somehow stumped on what coding works best, and where to put it if i have a preloader on my movie already.

my preloader uses this command text on frame 2

i have seen many ideas on using the shared object to skip intros, but havent been able to get the coding to work with my movie. At the end of the movie i have a loadMovie command to go to another .swf file, and i would like the shared object to tell the movie to go to the frame that sends people to the load movie frame so they will be in the main part of my site.

i like the use of the expiration code for the "cookie" but i am just trying to figure out what frames to put this code.

Connecting Intro.swf With The Preloader Scene Of The Main.swf
Hallo there friends.

Well the situation is this.
I am making a website and i decided to make an intro and connect it with the main swf file.
In the main file i have two scenes. The first scene is the preloader - in which i have a progress bar - and when all the bytes of the file are loaded, it connects the user to the second scene which is the main application.
Now, in the last frame of the intro.swf i am writing the script:
loadMovie("Main.swf",1);
and the result is to load not the preloader ( which is in the first scene), but the main app (which is in the second scene) of the file Main.swf.
There is the problem i am dealing with. I can't connect the intro with the first scene of the main app.
Could anyone please write me back the code which i have to icnlude in order to resolve this problem?

I am still a NooB to Flash, but did finally get to build a successful preloader (ahem). Now that I have that built, I was wondering if it is possible to loop a sound within the preloader 'scene'. This is what I have built for final production:

Scene 1: Diesel Startup Sound

Scene 2: Preloader movie, while main movie loads (w/ loopable diesel engine sound?)

Scene 3: Sounds stop, plays 10 sec movie, then 'goes to url'

Can anyone point me in a direction to see a preloader w/ looped sound, or a project that shows how to do this? Or, even better, show me how the code should look? I'm getting lost in code!?
