Flash MX Won't Install On My Vista Laptop
I am trying to install Flash MX 2004 on my laptop (ASUS G50-X1). It's running Vista 64-bit Home Premium with SP1. When I go to install Flash, an error message comes up saying "There is not enough space to install these option(s). Please free up some disk space or modify your selections."

I have tried running the installer as admin in compatibility mode for XP SP2.. nothing works. I would *REALLY* appreciate any help with this problem.

$100 Laptop Support For Flash Player
Hello,

I would like to know if Adobe is working with the folks at L=http://laptop.org/]http://laptop.org/[/L] to get full flash player support. I think this could be a real opportunity for Adobe and the $100 laptop people - not to mention developers. Can anybody at Adobe comment about this and/or consider throwing some development weight behind this project?

Flash Player Installed, But Every Site Flash Player Required For Asks To Install Not Working At All
Hi all, wondering if someone would be kind enough to help me, PLEASE lol
Flash player asks to be installed everytime I go onto any site that requires it, I have installed it, it advises it has been sucessfully installed but when I go back to the page it asks again! Have had this problem for ages and have tried eveything I can think of! at witts end and customer service wont help as its a free product.

How Do I *completely* Uninstall Flash Player And Then Install The *full* Player?
I lost the ability to to hear the audio on YouTube videos and other (e.g., news feed sites) videos served via Flash Player. Several people who encountered this problem claim to have solved it by reinstalling Flash Player. This has not helped me, though the Adobe sites I download from all serve up either the Flash Player *plugin* or the ActiveX player (I prefer Firefox to IE).

The uninstallers I've downloaded from Adobe run in a few seconds, and I suspect are not doing a complete uninstall. If I search my registry for "Flash" or "Macromed" I find many, many entries. Is there a special utility that will do a complete cleanout of Flash registry items and files?

Is there a site where I can download the *full* player, not just the plugin?

One point of information about my problem, however, that makes me think it is not a problem with the Flash Player itself is that I've also lost all Windows sounds (which I find mostly annoying, so I don't mind that), and there's no Windows sound icon in the system tray.

I *am* able to play (and hear) mp3 and wma files played directly off my hard drive. So I think the sound card and audio device drivers (mine is SoundMAX Digital Audio) are fine.

I've gone through the various "solutions" that fixed this for others--codecs replacements, cookie clearing, regisry repair utilities, I even reinstalled the audio driver from the Gateway disk.

I'm stumped and am almost tempted to buy an external (USB) sound card and try directing Flash to it.

But I'm sure there's another solution.

Oh, this is XP SP3 (upgraded to SP3 *after* the problem manifested).

i am at school and finally got my teacher to let me install it so i am on her account and i went to the dl page and clicked install and the flash movie NEVER plays!! and the securtiy warning or anyhting doesn;t show up!!! please help i once dled a actual installer and then installed it that way can i get a link to there please i need this very soon sorry for the rush and all caps but i need this really soon thanks for all your help i advance

This may not be the place to do this. But I'm trying to install the latest flash player. I have tried to do it from the macromedia site but for some reason it will not install. Is there any place else to get a flash player and install it. Perhaps I could download the whole thing and load it from my PC.

I upgraded to Flash Player 9 a few days ago but it doesn't work! Maybe because my Windows XP is not updated. (I can't get updates for it.) Can I just go back to what I had? I think it was Flash 8. Is it available for download? Or is there something else that I should be doing to get Flash 9 to work?

Cannot Install Flash Player 9
Can anyone help? WHen installing Flapsh Player 9 on MAc OS X I get the following error message:

"Error creating file
1008:5,-5000 Access Denied Error"

and when I click Ok I get "You do not have anough access priveliges for this installation".

I have full Admin on my Mac, and have never had this problem before installing anything - doe anyone know how to fix it please?

I tried to install Adobe Flash Player 9.0.47.0 from your website. It wouldn't install. The weird thing is that, sometimes, the gold Information Bar in Internet Explorer 7 on Windows XP SP2 Home Edition says, "Internet Explorer has blocked this site from using an ActiveX control in an unsafe manner. As a result, this page may not display correctly." Other times, I get an error message that pops up saying that the installation failed or has been canceled (I didn't cancel it). The dialog box in which this appears has two buttons: Try Again and Cancel. I click Try Again, and that doesn't work, and the same second message that I mentioned pops up again, so the only way to stop this is by clicking Cancel. I've tried all the support articles on your website related to this, but, naturally, nothing worked. I'm at the end of my rope here!

Please Help Me Install Flash Player
The other day I went to youtube to watch a video, but when I clicked on the video it said to install the latest version of flash player (I've never had a problem with it before this). So I went to the site and tried, but it never did anything, and everytime I've tried since then, it does the same thing. It acts like it's trying to load (I see the 'f' with the scroll line beneath it) but then it just stops. I've tried everything I can think of, but nothing is working. Please help!

I had Flash Player 9 working fine on my Mac, G5 running OSX 10.4.10. Flash 9 worked in both Safari and Firefox.

I visited a website that incorrectly told me I needed to update flash: http://www.thehdweb.com/

I followed the link to the correct part of the Adobe site, downloaded the Flash 9 installer and ran the installer.

All Flash has stopped working.

I am stuck.

I need ideas. I have looked for how to uninstall flash and cannot figure that out yet..

Flash Player Won't Install
This question seems related to previous one. My bank's web site has been putting up a message that I need to install "Macromedia Flash" (I'm using Firefox 3, XP/SP2 with AMD processor) to receive all site content (no comment about platform, tho). I click on their link, and get a download for Adobe Flash Player ver 10.0.12.36. Installation proceeds smoothly, is simple. The Control Panel/AddRemove shows Adobe Flash Player 10 Plugin, Adobe Flash Player Active X, and Macromedia Shockwave Player. The FF Plugin List shows Shockwave Flash 10.0 r12 enabled. [Are any of these Adobe Flash Player ver 10?] I then do a restart, make sure my pop-up blocker is off, and get the same message "need to install Macromedia Flash". Persistent, isn't it? Any ideas on how to get the thing installed?

Have disabled 3rd party virus/firewall...used subinacl/reset_fp10...(no joy) Flash Player says installed and reads 2.95MB on Windows xp add/remove list (although player specs say file is 1.7MB) Program does not
appear in Windows Program File or in any applications folders on virus/firewall Programs. Also have run as administrator (no joy). Have SP3 service pack installed. No malware/virus on computer. Hope someone here can provide another avenue to try.

i got a flash cd-rom i'm making, its got a flash player installer on it so if you dont have it you can install it off the cd.

Is there a way of redirecting the auto-flash player installer to the cd based flash player installer. cos at the mo it always jumps to the macromedia website to grab the installer there.

Flash Player Will Not Install
Hello everyone!

I hope this is the right area to post this particular thread. If not, I do apologize in advance...feel free to let me know where an issue of this nature should be posted in the future.

Basicall my problem is this:

- Having trouble displaying some Flash sites on my Dell laptop running Windows XP Pro, so I figured I needed to simply update my Flash Player (which was still on version 7 on this particular machine)
- Thought I had Flash Player installed but it's not listed if I check under Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. On other computers it's definitely listed there, but not on my laptop
- I then downloaded the installation file to my desktop, double-clicked and received an error message (see attached bmp) stating that setup could not locate the browser's plugin directory and to either click Browse to locate it or Install to proceed. I tried BOTH and neither worked
- I did verify that the directory exists as C:WINDOWSsystem32MacromedFlash which is where it gets installed on my other computer as well.
- Shockwave player IS installed and when I tested uninstalling it and reinstalling it, I didn't have problems with Shockwave Player. (in case anyone might be wondering)

SO, no matter how many various ways I attempt to install the player, it just will not happen on this particular computer. It's fine on any other computer I've checked and have been able to successful update my Flash players on another PC and a Mac...IT'S JUST THIS LAPTOP, and i've never seen this problem before.

ANY SUGGESTIONS???? Is there any particular known bugs on this that anyone knows about?

Flash Player Won't Install?

I am trying to install the latest version of the flash player and I can't get it to work!! It seems that the older version is still being used.

The download seems to work ok. The flash movie on the Macromedia site plays and says that version 6.0.79.0 was successfully installed.

When I run trace(getVersion()); in flash dev environment I get: WIN 6,0,21,0 NOT WIN 6,0,79,0 which is what I expected.

Flash was not running when I did the installation. I re-booted my computer afterwards. I even tried installing again but the movie on the Macromedia site played immediately which means that I already have the latest version. (so it says)

Has anyone had a similar experience?

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can install the latest player version and ensure that it is, in fact, installed?

I was wondering...I have a shockwave file on CD that I would like to carry around with me from time to time. Can I put the Flash Player on the CD as well, so that I can view my shockwave file when I am on a computer that does not have a Flash plugin or Software? Please help! (thanks!)

I need to install flash player 10 but i just cant do it, im using windows XP
so i downloaded uninstall_flash_player.exe, flashplayer10_install_plugin_070208.exe, flashplayer10_install_activex_070208.exe
1. i open uninstall_flash_player.exe ant uninstall flasf player
2. i open flashplayer10_install_plugin_070208.exe install it and flashplayer10_install_activex_070208.exe ant install it too
but when i open any browser i get a error 'send as a report' don't send as a report' i just don't know what to do can you help me out please

I've tried downloading it from macromedia but it installs directly onto your machine.

However, what I get are cab files with an inf and ocx file. It’s not clear to me what I should do with those files to install the older players.

I'm trying to install flash player 7 (flashplayer7installer.exe) so i can test some of my sites with it. But during the installation it asks which browser to install for, and shows a list that is empty. I have no choice but to manually tell it install at C:Program filesInternet ExplorerPLUGINS but that doesnt seem to work. Does anyone know whats wrong?

Flash Player 9 Install Problems On Mac OS X
I just installed the Flash Player 9 on my Power PC based Mac OS X 10.3.9 and now no Flash elements work in Safari 1.3.2, or even Explorer (which I don't use). I have been sure to close all browsers, uninstall first etc. The installations appears to complete successfully, but I get the following error message on any page that has flash:

The page â€œAdobeâ€ attempted to load an Internet plug-in named â€œShockwave Flashâ€, but the plug-in failed to load successfully.

Worse yet, any attempts to install on older version of the player now give me the same error. I can no longer view any Flash!

If anyone can help (Adobe!), it would be much appreciated.

Flash Player Install Prompt From CD
I have written a flash software I will be distributing for my employer. I have everything on cd with autorun enabled and it works wonderfully.

Question: I have applied for a Distribution License, when it is approved I would like to have the flash installer on the cd with my software. How can I get it to automatically detect whether or not the client needs to install the flash player and or prompt them to do so while still having my software be able to autorun.

Is this possible?

Flash Player Won't Install On Mac PowerPC
I've downloaded and installed flash media player 9 a half dozen times and when I got back to get on the web it says it's not on my computer. I've restarted the computer, taken of blocking popups, uninstalled and reinstalled, etc,. Any words of aid out there? Thanks.

Flash Player 9 OSX Install Question?
Greetings! Recently my Flash Player stopped operating, and prompts came up on screen to go to Adobe's website to download Flash Player 9 OSX. After double checking which version to download, I proceded with it's installation. After the download was over, the prompt came up again as not having the Flash player. Here's a copy of the prompt:

The page â€œMacromedia - Flash Playerâ€ has content of MIME type â€œapplication/x-shockwave-flashâ€,
but you donâ€™t have a plug-in installed for this MIME type. A plug-in should be available on this page:

Why does it keep cycling itself back to saying I don't have the software? Am I missing something here? I've tried so many times, I've lost count! ANY help, suggestions, etc... would be MUCH appreciated.

Flash Player Install Failure On OSX
I've notice all the trouble people are having trying to get updates of FP to cooperate with Vista and IE, but is anyone out there having trouble getting the installer to work on a mac? After running the uninstaller, which says it was successful, I cannot get ANY version of FP to re-install on my mac. Both Firefox and Safari are showing the plug-in as missing and when prompted to download and install, the installation fails again and again.

The only way I have been able to successfully get flash player working again is to re-install my version of Creative Suite, which automatically installs FP when you install the Flash application.

If anyone has any advice, it would greatly be appreciated.
Lastly it is not a permissions issue as I am the root admin working on my own personal laptop.

Flash Player Refuses To Install
I have a G5 PowerPC Mac and am trying to install Flash Player 9. I have turned off my browser to avoid that problem. However, when I ask it to install, it finishes installing the first 8 items but never finishes the last 4. I would appreciate any help or advice.

Ok, so i was able to download the installation file ok, but when i start the installation it gets to the part where it says it is searching my hard drive and never passes that part. I've left it running for hours hoping it would just finish, but it never does.

Any solutions to fixing my problem?

Unable To Install Flash Player
My flash player worked fine until one day it just stopped working. I'm using a PowerPC Mac OS X 10.4.whatever is out now. I have tried everything (it seems): using the uninstalling flash player, restarting and reinstalling (doesn't work), I've tried installing previous versions but they're zip files so I can't download them. I can download the files but when it comes to installing them and when the safari (doesn't work in either safari or firefox) window reopens, it says MME not found.

This last time I tried installing it, at the end it said "Deleting." I have contacted Support about it but since it is a "free software," they can't really give much support so they sent me here. Any help is appreciated and I will try to give as much information as possible.

Leopard - Install Flash Player 8 Not 9
:disgust; When I installed Leopard on my G5 I was unable to play many videos, especially those on Yahoo News. I received a Quicktime symbol with white question mark. Adobe says to download Flashplayer 9 for the new operating system Leopard so I downloaded Flashplayer 9 for Leopard from Adobe and it did not work. Finally, an Apple support rep. and the Apple Leopard Forum suggested installing Adobe Flashplayer 8. It works beautifully. I wasted a good 6 to 8 hours on this fiasco. Overall, if I had to do it again I would not buy Leopard. It's all glitz and very little substance. I've found nothing that is a real advance in usable computer technology.

After having been told by Fox.com that I needed to update my flash player to view videos on their site, I have attempted to install Flash Player 9 from adobe.com. Unfortunately, each time that I attempt to install it, I receive a message that the version that I am installing is older than the version on my computer and that I should download the latest version from adobe.com. I have downloaded the executable version (install_flash_player_active_x.exe) of the update and run it. Unfortunately, I receive the same error message when I attempt to install this as well. If you have any suggestions on how to successfully install Flash Player 9, I would appreciate your suggestions>

i cant install the newest flashplayer to work on firefox3.0.1.it says :you do not have sufficient disk space to complete this installation,please free 5000kb and try again. i have a brand new 500gb hard drive and its almost empty.
internet explorer has the plugin and it works fine.
