How Do I Take Several BMP Images, Per Frame, And Lining Them Up?
Okay, I'm making an animation using Pivot Stickfigure beta 3 and I decided the best way I could do this is to save the animation as several different bmp images for quality look, this animation has well over 2500 frames and I'm not even close to done, I'm guessing that the animation when completed will run at least over 10 minutes. Anyhow I'm wondering how do I take those bmp (each has it's own frame) and align them up in the center?

Lining Up Duplicate Images
hi there,
i have to do an animation where a candy bar is "bitten" off piece by piece. I have worries that i can't line up the duplicate images. is there a way to do this for certain?

Cropping And Lining Images In Flash
I got a photo of a digital camera, I split it into 4 pictures (left right top bottom, with a "hole" in the middle where the LCD screen wood be) and even though the images are split perfectly, arranging them in flash is very tiresome. I have to zoom up very close and push it pixel by pixel but even then, when I zoom out, it dosnt seem to line up correctly. Is there anything I can do to either:
a) Turn on a "pixel" grid so that when I specify the size of my document (ie 640x480) there are 640x480 pixels and nothing in between.
b) Use some sort of feature to get my images lined perfectly
(CS3) Images Not Lining Up Properly When Publishing
Hi all,
I've got a series of images on a series of nested screens in a flash form application (consider the screens to be nested layers if you aren't familiar with screens in the flash form app).
On my development stage these images are lined up perfectly, pixel for pixel so when you flip thru the screens one image is replaced by the next seemlessly (they are all eseentailly the same image with some minor differences).
But when I test or publish the movieclip the images are not lined up quite right a pixel off one way or another, a line of pixels missing from mid image, and on some screen I get severe image distortation.
I'm not sure why Flash isn't rendering my movie clip the way I have it lined up on my screen. Can anyone offer any suggestions to what I can do to fix this problem?
Lining External Images Doesn't Work

i am using the code below to link external images. When i use it in my test file by itself, it works fine. When I try to use it in a flash movie that i am making with many different types of MC and action script, It doesn't work.
Why not, It's the exact same code, being used the exact same way. Any ideas anyone

Lining Between Two Swf's
Hey everyone, I have a flash image slider on my homepage (http://wri.eas.cornell.edu/MessageBrandAdvertisingFinal/index.html) that links to specific images in an swf on my portfolio page (http://wri.eas.cornell.edu/MessageBrandAdvertising/index.html). For instance when someone clicks on the "coaching management" (2nd picture from left on homepage) pic, I want it to load that picture in the swf on my porftfolio page. Is this possible?
Lining Up Problems...
Why is it that when I try to mask an image that is bigger than the content box so that it fits within the borders of the box, the image does not sit flush against the edges? There is a gap between the image and the border lines though the mask set right against the edges of the box's outline. I have zoomed in to verify that there is no gap between the mask and the box's inside edges. on the stage it looks fine when the mask is applied but when I play the movie, there are gaps between the image and the iside edges of the box. Someone please help, thx.

Load Xml In To Mc Lining Mc Up In A Row
I can't figure out how to do this. i have a mc that has 3 text fields category, name, amount and they are being loaded by xml. but when the movie is loaded it loads the mcs inline but i only want them to show 5 in each line. but when its a different category to go to the next line. so for ex.
1 1 1 1 1 - ROW 1
-------------------
2 2 2 - ROW 2
-------------------
3 3 3 3 - ROW 3
-------------------
4 4 - ROW 4
-------------------
5 5 5 - ROW 5
the numbers = a category so there are 5 (if there happens to be a total of 5) in each row but when the category changes it goes to a different row. anyone help me out? thanks...

Lines Not Lining Up
Hi,
I'm following along through Lee's video tutorials, and on the one with the mute button, I'm trying to do the icons for the mute button movie clip. The line through the speaker icon looks perfect in the stage when I'm building it, but when I play the movie, it's always shifted slightly to the left and down and looks terrible, almost like it's following the speaker icon. I made sure to put it on whole number coordinates. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

I have 2 MC's that have buttons nested in them on the 5th frame of both MC's. the buttons are the same and I want them to line up exactly .
Is there a way to align 2 these even though there in seporate Mc's.
Lining Up Animation With Music
I did this animation and parts of it line up with the background music. I figured out the math for the frames/sec lining up with the beats/min and made the animation accordingly. The problem is is that it lines up if I output as a .mov file, but if I out put as a .swf file then the animation slows down and becomes out of sync with the music. Has anybody ran into this problem, and if so, how did you fix the problem? Any help would be appreciated.

Lining Up A SWF With A Tiled Background
I am curious if anyone can help me with a small problem I'm having. I recently decided I want to design a site with a very specific tiled background. Now the problem with this I can't seem to think of how to make sure my SWF lines up with the tiled background for different resolutions. Basically the SWF is going to be centered on the page and is going to incorporate the background so it needs to line up exactly with it (the first frame of the SWF basically will make it look like there is no SWF but just a full tiled background). I would presume people have encountered this problem before but I can't seem to come up with a solution. Anyways, thanks in advance for any help,

9 Slice Scaling Not Lining Up

So I have my sprite in the library with some rounded corners. This will evenually be the background behind a set of tabs
I will be adding tabs as soon as I can get the background sprite to be the same width as the scrollPane... Im spending too much time on the simple stuff.
I tried to upload the .fla but doesn't seem to be working at the moment. This script is on frame1 of main timeline

I've found that changing the width in the library at design time affects overall width too.... If I set width to 400 in code, shouldn't the width be 400 regardless what it was to begin with ?

ASCII Characters Not Lining Up Correctly
I have a text file that i am calling into my project and it has some ASCII characters to make the file look like a chart. When the file is opened in a normal text application it lines up and look great but when it is opened in the text field, it does not line up. The ASCII characters seem more spaced then the normal text and if i put spaces at the beginning of the line in the text, flash makes it start from the very left with no spoaces. Is there a little thing im missing to get it to work? Is there another way to load an excell file withe the lines in it??

Lining Up Body Parts-how To Bend A Leg?
i'm trying to figure out how to animate a bending leg--if the thigh and shin are separate layers, when the leg bends, there is no knee, and i would rather not have a big, knobby kneecap to cover up the gap.
should i create multiple shin shapes? is this the normal way--to have many, many versions of each body part, all slightly different to hide gaps and overextending outlines to satisfy every possible movement?

[CS3] FLASH Sound And Graphics Not Lining Up

I have Flash CS3 and I am in the process of creating a flash website banner with sound effects with a separate sound track... I have built it and in flash it works perfectly but once I export or test it with in flash it seems like the sound is loading about 2 frames faster and knocks the whole thing off... is anyone else having an issue like this..this is first time I have EVER had this issue and I cannot seem to figure out how to fix it... any help would be great as i am ready to through my computer out the window.

i want the doors to line up with the doors that are opening (my preloader)
in a seperate swf.
also my computer is slow.. do the doors open smoothly and does the sound line up properly???

I want my menu buttons so that if you click the same one twice it wont do anything how do i do that?

The problem is here:

it creates new thumbnail_mc's on load according to how many are in the XML file its reading them from. they are like thumbnail_mc.t1, t2, t3 etc.... k represents the numbers.
Anyway.. that code should mean
target_mc._x = 0 + width of the first image...
When i trace the (eval("thumbnail_mc.t" + k)._width) ... the width is definitely correct for each thumbnail... but the target_mc._x doesn't put it there for some reason??
they all become jumbled up in around the same spot...
Anyone know why?

Magnifying Glass Mask Lining Up Of Layers
I'm having trouble getting my top magnified layer to line up with the smaller lower layer. THe top one keeps moving to far over to the right no matter where I place it in the movie. Is there any code I am missing to make this line up properly?
My Movieclip Keeps Lining Up To The Left Of The Main Movie
I'm having a problem placing the movie clip on the x axis.
I can drag the movieclip anywhere on the y axis and place it, but it deosn't matter where I drag it on the x axis, it always lines up to the far left.How can I get around that.

Flash Object Not Lining Up Correctly In Browser
This seems like a stupid problem, but I can't seem to find the answer myself. Hopefully I am posting this in the right forum.

Landscape/Portrait Thumbs Not Lining Up In Gallery
Hey guys, I Fiannly got the XML photo gallery the way i want it, but when i tried adding my own pictures/thumbs some of them are vertical as opposed to horizontal. There ends up being a big space in between them, and some overlap each otehr and other ones than that just dont show up at all.

My Question is should i just go into photoshop and put them all on a black 300x200 canvas so theres a black border around it and theyll all be the same image size or is there a way around it.

Externally Loaded Movies Hots Spots Not Lining Up
I have a movie (Main) that Im loading another movie into (slideshow). this slideshow movie has hotspots that allow you to scroll thru images then click the image and have it displayed in a window. This works fine when I run the slideshow by itself. But, when I load it into my main movie (using loadMovie())and reposition it, the hotspots are in the wrong place. Is there anyway to setup the slideshow movie so it could use the posistion varibles locally to the moive and not the main movie?

Jagged Images When Not On Frame One
Has anyone else experienced the problem of images (graphpics) getting jagged if they are in anything other than a one frame (root) movie? I've had this problem over and over on different machines and different versions of Flash. I've tried everything to do a work around, put the entire site in a movie clip and put that on frame one of a one frame movie, load it in externally into a container clip, etc. it's just doesn't fix the problem...
Oh yeah, the problem doesn't have to do with the x, y, being integers. They are on exact integers on everytime line (parent on down). It has to do with the movie being longer than one frame on the root... I can post an example if that helps.
(Sorry to keep editing) It also is not that I'm resizing the images in Flash, they are being placed in at 100% and not resized. (just trying to save you time in responding!)
Images Into Frame With Buttons
I wanted to have 10 or so buttons and by clicking each button It would bring up
a different picture from the library (Or a folder on my pc) onto the movie.
But I would like this to be done with one frame (If Possible)
Sort of like a dress up game but adding the pics with buttons instead of dragging them around.
I have tried different codes but nothing works

Switching Images Within A Frame
Hi, total newbie and totally freaked out, did the search on google and did the search in online help, no use.
Seeking to switch images in a frame (without switching the frame of course). Like DynamicText allows to switch text.
Basically have numbered images which I want to call to the screen from an arrayed index, yes have a good idea of scripting and none of Flash.
Any pointers would be highly appreciated.

My question is this, how do you create a frame-like object in Flash? In HTML its using the frame tags.
The reason for this is that i want to be able to have a scrollbar to show different images vertically.

Is Loading Many Images In First Frame Efficient?
I am doing something like a company advertisement in flash (for web ofcourse) and i need to display a clip everytime a user clicks a particular button.
There are 8 or 9 such buttons.
I dont want the user to wait for the clip to load in runtime at each button click. Will loading all images in first frame work? How heavy will it be on the memory then?
Random Frame Stops Working When Images Are Used

I have built a movie (Flash MX 2004 Porfessional) with the objective of going to a different frame each time the page loads. The movie works fine when I only have text in any of the frames. As soon as I add an image to any of the frames the ramdomization quits working. On top of that, the behavior is Opera/Netscape and IE is different.
In IE, the movie always displaysframe 1 (no content, just the actionscript).
In Opera/Netscape the movie always displays frame 2 (the first frame with content).

Loading Frame Images For Movie, Most Effective Way?
Ok, basically i am just wandering what everyone thinks if the best way to load a movie.
I am learning OpenGL, and hopefully DirectX soon as well, and in some of my projects i am going to be displaying them on my website. I am going to be taking a frame by frame screen**** of my OpenGL movies to import them into flash, and i was wandering what everyone thinks is the best way to do it?
In my understanding i have two options,
1.) Take my Fla and load them all into it by hand.
2.) Make it more dynamic and loadthem at runtime via ActionScripts LoadMovie Command.
Now it would be easier on me to do #2, but i am not looking for ease. I am looking for the most effective in FPS at Runtime, Load Speed, and obviously tied into Load Speed, the File Size for people to load.
So which would be faster, better, smaller, ect.?

Attaching Movies/images To A Specific Frame
Hi,
As far as I know, attaching movies/images, using attachMovie for internal elements, or loadMovie for external ones, always attaches it to the first frame.
So what if I want to attach something, let's say, to the second frame? Is it possible to do?
What I need to do is to dinamically build an animation on a movieclip with external images, so some images go to the 1st frame, and other go to other frames.
How can I do this with AS?

Movie Clip Images Deteriate If Not On Frame 1
Hi,
I'm having a real problem with a flash movie which I desperatly need to get sorted out ASAP.
I've a selection of logo's which simply need to fade in and out one at a time. This short looping animation is in a movieclip. Now if the movieclip is on frame 1 the logo's are in the quality they should be but if I place the movie clip on another frame with a stop(); command the logo's deteriate as if the .jpegs have been stretched slightly out of porportion.
I've tried everything I can think of such as having the logo movieclip in one file and then loading it into another level on a main movie and a later frame.
I really don't think I'm doing anything wrong as I use Flash everyday and generally know what I'm doing but I've never come across this problem before. If anyone has any idea's or know of any bugs in flash which may cause this please let me know.

Trying To Display 2 Random Images In A Single Frame
Im trying to display 2 random images from a directory on my mainpage. I have the files listed in my xml file.... images.xml and using the following script pointing to my instance name picture_mc. all works well for 1 image..how can I get a second image and position it correctly? Do i have to clear the variables? is there an easy way to place the mulitple images into location? Script below...thank you for any help! Please keep explanations simple, I'm very very new at this:

Lining Up Text Within Text Frames
I'm having trouble lining up text with text frames, below is what I'm trying to achive within one text frame:

Previous Frame Overlay..... Frame By Frame By Frame By Frame By Frame By.....
Hello there.
I am trying to create a small animation just as a little bit of fun. I would like to do it frame by frame.
I have a simple question to ask about frame by frame animation.
When drawing frame by frame, you would usually have a transparent overlay that you can compare with the next frame. Is there a way to do this in flash without having to copy the previous keyframe into a new keyframe on a new layer?

"Slideshow" Of Images In A Frame.
I'm wanting to create somewhat of a slideshow that will appear in the corner of a frame. Around it will be text.
Since there isn't any animation other than the slideshow in the scene, I'd like to keep it all in one frame. Is there any way to do this without a billion lines of A.S.? If not, can someone explain an easy way to do it in the first place?
