so far, all i know how to do in flash is make loops of fading images and text and add them to html files. I really want to make a site totally in flash and I have no clue how to do this. can some one, please walk me through the steps?

well it says that there are no stupid questins here so here it goes. I am totally new to flash. I want to make a totally flash website. It is for showcasing miniatures that I have painted. Now what i was wondering is what are the elements that go into a flash websites? Are there any Websites that I might be able to rip apart to see how all of this works? I guess I am asking for a step by stepvtutorial for how to put a site together, what the compenents I will have to make are and how they work together.

is it possible to create an entire website just from flash?

i have a real good idea of what i want to happen at each page (creating flash movies) just don't know how to link it all together. like if someone clicked on button "a" then flash movie "b" would execute until another button was depressed...and then on and on.

if this is possible then what is the next thing for me to learn. i can get flash to do what i want from that end...just need assistance in the linking/execution.

Create Website By Using Flash.
Hi everyone,

When I create a website by using flash includes : banner, menu, main frame...
Is it better to creating all of them in one file or to create many files swf then create 1 file and load all of them to it?
if I create all in one file, so does it make bigger size ? and does it take alots time in everytime open the website? (My website is dynamic web).
if I create many files and use loadMovie method to associate them, so is it easy to pass parameters from swf file to another swf file?

Use Flash Animation To Create An HTML Website
Hi there,
This is the first time I post on this forum so hi to everybody.
I have a a couple of questions I hope you will be able to help me with:
I have just created my flash animation (swf, swi and html files). Now, what I want to do is convert it to create a new static html page, with no animation but keeping the same images, design and layout, which I will use as a pattern to create the rest of my website in a normal Html editor. Does anybody know how I can do that? Does a software exist or can I use Swish?

Before I start I want your opions. I am planning to create a website with a lot of images, scanned images. So I recon it will be a big movie size.

What would be the appropiate approach?

Here are some of my thoughts:Loading each part that is greater then 100kb.
Loading in the background (but does this effects the interaction with the movie)
Making all seperate .swf.
Load when needed (so unload when not?)
Load each image dynamicly (so images are not in the library)

Using Flash To Create A Better Website For A Music Group
Hi everyone,

I created a Flash portal for a multi-talented music group and just recently they've received many requests for performing, and this has prompted me to find ways that I can improve on the Flash homepage.

When I first began to work for the music group, the Flash portal was functional in only two ways: An animated introduction to the group, and a news slideshow. News slideshows such as the one on Comcast.net are Flash movies that link to HTML pages. That's fine for right now, but we're living in a Web 2.0 world and I'm excited to learn what I can do with Flash to satisfy the user's experience and promote the content of the website better.

So far the only idea I've come with is to create some kind of contact form in Flash (if that's possible) and add the form to the homepage. What I really want to avoid is the flashy, gimmicky uses of Flash. I don't want people to wonder "why do I need to watch this animation for?"

(6) Select Basic or Advance Theme for the slideshow
a. Choose Basic Theme
Here, you can enter your album title, change the Width and the Height, select Background color and transition & photo duration, and define the Frame Rate as well. And you can set auto-play and auto-repeat option here. More than 57 professional-looking slideshow themes, together with several photo decorations are ready for choice.
Click More Options, you will see a pop-up window, and you can set more flash options, like photo URL link and output folder setting, music sample rate and music quality, image size etc.

b. Customize Advanced Theme
If you need to customize the theme in terms of size, color and other settings, simply click advanced tab, and then select one of your favorite themes from the drop-down list of category.



Click Customize Properties button and you will see all settings for this theme.
After you complete your changes to the settings, please click Save As button and your modified theme will be automatically saved.

No matter which theme you use, basic theme or advanced theme, you can easily add background music for the slideshow. You can also import audio tracks as background music from CD.

(7) Choose output format
There are three output options under the Publish window. If you just want to create a flash slideshow, you can just check Create Flash Files Only. Click Publish Now and your creative slideshow will be published according to your setting at once. If you want to burn your slideshow onto a disc and make it into a backup CD or a gift CD, please check Making a Gift Disc, and choose your CD/ DVD recorder and set the recording speed, Then click Start Burn to burn your slideshow onto a DVD/VCD at once. If you want to share your slideshow with friends, you can check Creating Flash Files and Upload to Go2Album. Then click Publish Now to publish your slideshow at once. After the slideshow published into flash, it will be automatically uploaded to the Go2Album if you have logged in. If not, please just create your Go2Album ID and share your slideshow online. You can choose to View Upload Log and you will see the URL link of your uploaded slideshow at once. Click the link and you can enjoy your flash slideshow on Go2Album immediately.

May I know can anyone advise on how to create a link to webpage?

(1)I create a button on stage and I use behavior to create a link to a particular site to the internet. I have set the behavior to be "on press". However, when I "test movie", it will automatically lead me to the link which I have typed in "behavior". How come is it like that? I thought it will only lead me to the webpage when I clicked on it?

(2)I have written a html file to embed this swf file. When I opened the .html file, there is no respond when I clicked on the button. Anybody know why?

I'm developing a website that is a product catalog for a jewely company.

I need to be able to create interactive 3D views of the products. For example, let's take a ring or bracelet.

Searchable Website Vs Slick Website...when To Draw The Line
Just curious what everyone thinks here:

So, we all know how search engines have a hard time reading flash sites. Well, I have come to a road block in my designing...I have clients that want their sites in the search engines but also want a certain amount of 'tech' to them! I can design pages with 'some' flash, enough to make it interesting, BUT if they want a 'fully searchable' page, what do we do?
I can type html all day long but it will never compare to the slickness of flash. I just finished my first 'full html' site in over a year(stuck on flash) and I am blown away by the clarity! It makes flash sharpness look dull! (sorry)

**My Question:
If you had a client that wanted a high tech site and also wanted to be 'searchable', what would you do??

I need help on how to load .swf files on a flash site as a portfolio section, each one will have their own image or animation. The way I want them is to when you change the pages it loads the next object rather than have it on the site and make the site file bigger to load than having it minimual.
