OK, heres the story, im doing a cd-rom project which involves a flash projector and few of websites i have done. so when i run the flash projector.exe, there are buttons that will open up the websites when its clicked. now heres the problem, i have set my projector to fullscreen, when i click on the buttons to launch the websites, it appears to be hiding behind my projector, it has actually opened up but u wont know cos u cant see it, u actually have to alt+TAB to choose it. please... can someone help me, how can i make my websites open on top of my projector? should i add codes to my button? thanks alot.....

How do you make it so that once you've typed it in, you can either press the button on the screen (thats done) OR press enter on the keyboard (thats the hard bit!)?

How To Make Password Dialogue Box And Automatic Download
Hello everyone.

I have been usng Flash 5 for about a year now, mainly for making movies (for friends) and simple NON-CODE menus.

Now I am working on a big intro/logo for a website. At the end of my logo movie, I have 2 options (buttons): MEMBERS and GUESTS. I would like to make it so that when you click MEMBERS a dialogue box appears telling you to write your password. I have no problem making the dialogue box appear IF the button is clicked. But how do I make a place to write in the box, a way to write, a way to check if it is right, and a link to url if it is right?

I have never used code for Flash but I have 2 years experiance (good) with C++. From all the code I have seen so far in Flash, such as loops and variables, it seems extremely similar to C++. Can anyone tell me how to make the dialogue/password box. Can you use strings and if statements? If so, when should I use them?

My Idea so far: (not real code, so you can understand)
Right-Click the button, say IF CLICKED, go to some frame with the box visible (maybe use ALPHA for this one). How would I make the area for writing the password, how would I allow the keyboard to write in this line I make? What code should I use?

P.S.
How can I make a Flash movie automatically send a file to be downloaded. After so many seconds a DO YOU WISH TO DOWNLOAD (from IE or Netscape) will apear. How can I do this?

Hi all

I have a flash file which internally invokes other doc. and html files. The total size of all the files is about 400 MB. I want to protect these files from un-authorized usage and make them run only when the license information provided is correct. The copy of same files and same license number should not allow it to run on another PC.

The solution should be platform independent and should work on Apple's machines too.
Can I write some Action Script which can do the following:
1. Checks which operating system I am trying to run the Flash File?
2. If Operating System is Windows and Non-Apple Machine then get Machine ID, BIOS number, hard-disk serial number and if it is Apple Machine then get unique machine ID of apple?
3. Invoke a webservice by passing these details and based on the response received (correct or wrong details) it stores an entry somewhere in the registry. First time it checks from web-service the details and runs the flash file, but next time onwards it checks from local registry and runs the flash file. (Note: prime focus is to run this on MAC OSX.)
Or for the required scenario I need not to play with Action Script and just follow some other simpler way ????

Timer? Silly Little Thing, Can't Make It Work.
Basically, I want a simple 5 second timer, so it starts onEnterFrame, and after the 5 seconds, it progresses to the next frame. I just can't get it to work, no matter what I do. I've tried making a seperate movieclip that runs for 5 seconds, with nothing. I've tried starting timers, counters that add 1 after every second, and nothing I do seems to work. Maybe I'm just going about it the wrong way, which is why I'm asking. Thanks in advance

Ok, sorry, I had no better or more eloquent way of explaining what I mean.

Basically I have a movieclip which uses a combination of graphics and text and titles that i constantly reuse in my movie. What i do is duplicate the MC in the library (change its name) and then open the mc and change the titles, text and graphic....so th eelements are always in the same format/alignnment.

Is there a better/easier way to do this? Woudl this be when i might venture into components (eeek).....

as a novice coder at best, is this too much to tackle, and also, does it add too much weight to my movie?

Am i even going in the right direction?

I'm trying to password protect one of my flash 5 clips but if the password entree screen has only one frame then anyone who wants acces the site can just right click and press "play". I need a way of disabling the right click menu on my movie, if thats impossible then I need a way of making the password enter screen multiple frames.

Making A Thing Any Of Which Will Interact With Any Of Another Type Of Thing
Well i know that title was a bit vague but heres what im trying to do, ive been larning to use flash for the past couple weeks, I'm using flash MX, i am expeirienced in other programming languages. What id like to do is to make an object, in this case a turet, which has code in it and can be duplicated, i know how to do that part, but, i want to be able to make it and copy it, and also have an enemy i can copy, a zobie, and have any of the turrets shoot at any of the zombies that get close. They cant all be pre scripted with eachothers names because i want to be able to create either after the program starts.

Basically, the zombies come out all over during the program and the player clicks where he wants to put turrets and those turrets shoot at whichever zombie is closest to them. Im sure its not that hard, and probably would involve arrays, but since im still learning how flash works im not sure how it can be done. Any help is apriciated, thanks. While i wait for a reply I'm going to read some more on how arays work in flash since i think they may be the answer.

Hey, I am having some difficulties on a website. I took out all the pictures, and animations so its fast and easy to download. Here's the problem, I have a password set to 'greenlight', but it doesn't exactly work, i can't figure out why, its the same code and everything from a prior website i made, and yet, it doesnt work! I am back again seeking the support from the wizards of Flash and everything else.

I have run into a dilemma: I am creating a mini site in flash.

I want the user to login or if they do not have an ID or password the can create one.

(1) Two forms - One for login and the other for new user sign up.

(2) I would like to have a login system setup where when the user log in it adds them automatically to a list which would be in the CGI BIN.

I tried using the tutorial posted at : http://www.flashkit.com/movies/Inter...5762/index.php - but ia m unable to get it to work.

This what I had done.

I modified the code to point to my server and my CGI BIN.
I uploaded the files ( access.cgi and .htaccess) in the same directory (CGI-BIN). I then uploaded the login interface to the HTML Directory.

I also set the correct permissions.
When I tried testing the login if does nothing.. no errors.. If you use the tutorial I used you will see what I mean. PLease tell me ehat I am doing wrong..

When a user types in thier password and backspaces flash doesn't recognize the change. It posts to the page and gets an error that it was an incorrect username or password.

Has anyone else had this issue?

I'm trying to get a password movie clip to work with two scenes. Basically the MC is on scene 1 and when they enter the correct password, it would take them to scene 2 and then the designated scene.
