I was wondering how you get this "screen wipe" effect show on this website. It seems to me that they use the same "wipe" MC or whatever it is for every section, i'm just wondering how you load different sections............any help is appreciated.

I am completely lost as to how to go about it. The flakes on the bottom lay over the colours when selected, and you can choose up to three. Also they can be independantly coloured. How do I do this?

I want to replicate this for my own website on my photo page. I have made a good search on flash kit for some help and really did not find anything similar. My actionscripting is limited to navigation so i am struggling a wee bit.

Anyone Knows How To Achieve This Effect ?
Just click on any button on the left hand side... I'm interested to find out how those color transitions are achieved (take a look at huge photos in the center of the page). When you chose different section (when different button is pressed), pictures becomes very bright and transitions are unbelievable smooth.

:: EXAMPLE TO LOOK AT ::

What I want to know is... is it possible to make that happen with some ActionScript command (or piece of code), or you just have to import let's say 2 same photos, but one in "normal" color and the other one in very bright shades, then tween them manually ? The second method is easy to achieve, but it takes up much more memory, especially if you have tens of photos (doubled as well), so I believe they did it different way... also, even more important, there is no way to achieve that smooth effect using this method... just because if you take a closer look, you'll see that there is nothing like whole photo is changing lightness of itself evenly... when they fade out in white, first areas that fades out are very bright areas, and darker areas comes later... but, when another photo fades in, first thing that appears are those darker areas, and then nice smooth fade in of lighter areas...

There must be something in ActionScript that can tell the photo to fade like that...

Any directions would be greatly appreciated !

The effect where when you hover over a button, text randomly generates for a second before the truth button text reveals, or sometimes i see that a designer uses the content box to randomly display text line by line revealing the true content as it travels. How To Achieve This Effect
Hi everyone, I'm trying to create a cool effect to load some pictures I have on my site. Pretty much I want them to animate like the pic below (where each pic is a frame). The problem is that I'm using effects in Illustrator (wave warp and glass filter) because I don't know how/if there is a way to replicate those effects in flash and then importing each frame from Illustrator (annoying). So, I need a ton of frames which makes the file size of the swf way too big. Is there an easier way to achieve what I'm trying to do? Thanks.

On the main menu if you select for example, "Space to Live", a line scrubs from right to left, erasing as it scrubs, the menu headers and then replacing them with a new sub-set.

Would anyone have an idea of how to approach this. I've a feeling that a mask or layer placed over the top would achieve the effect but what about uncovering the subset etc.

Anyway I'm sure you'll need to check the site to understand what the hell I am gibbering on about.

Hi I was just looking through the FWA site and came across www.fletch.com. I really like how this site spans 100% x 100% and if you minimize the browser to where it's smaller than the website is it gives flash it's own scrollbar. I was wondering if anyone could possibly help me out with how to achieve that effect? I know how to keep the header and footer in their own spots in flash but I'm not quite sure on how to get it to pop it's own scrollbar in if the browser is too small and keep everything properly aligned when that happens. so i'm beginning to actually start coding some of my flash stuff & trying to create some "special effects" if you will

anyways..

i have these MC's which are imitations of buttons within a software interface (which i'm making the demo for)

i have seen on numerous sites that you can get this sort of "blow up" "warp" effect... it seems like someone is putitng a magnifying glass over an object & then pulling it away... and i know that its not a size relation motion tween because what i'm talking about actually blows up the center of the object.. so kind of like a balloon.

does anyone know what i mean.

now all i'm asking for is a push in the right direction, which part of actionscrip should i play with...

for some reason i think its the math function.

Hey everyone.

I've been working on creating this square effect you see when you click one of the four buttons at the bottom, for instance if you push 'cow menu'.

I've made a couple of different versions using different methods to dynamically create the squares and animate them. Including using extensions like mctween for the square growth (but as I'm sure some of you know, mctween gets slow when too many objects are moving at once).

I was just wondering what would be the most efficient way of achieving this effect (memory wise and editing wise, I want to be able to have dynamic control over how many squares there are and where they are).

Hello, I have to make a shinning effect for an intro and it's first time I need to do it, so I don't really know how to achieve it. I've seen some tutorials done with a mask and white block moving underneath. But the image I have on intro is to difficult to convert to a mask...Is there any other way to achieve a shinning effect?

Is it possible to import a jpg and to convert it into a mask by picking a color and setting it to Alpha 0?

Help With Bump Effect I Am Trying To Achieve
Basically I would like to have two words on the screen that come in side by side with no space between them, then I wanted to have the word on the left kind of slide to the left a bit and then quickly slide back to the right and "bump" the word on the right causing the word on the right to shift a few spaces over as if it has just been bumped into.

How Can I Achieve This Text Effect?
Hi,

I'm looking to achieve an effect on text that is kind of a cross between a drop shadow / motion trail.

An example of this can be found at www.pitchforkmedia.com

The effect is on the 'Pitchfork' logo in the top left corner. As you can see it is not merely a drop shadow - More like a smear.

I'm assuming it (the effect) is part of the font set, but surely there is a way of achieving this effect another way?

If anyone has any software suggestions that have this kind of effect, or know how to achieve this effect through a technique (something fairly painless) it would be much appreciated.

I'd like to try and keep the text as a shape rather than bitmap.

I managed to 'create' the effect in Paint Shop Pro, but it took ages, but when I 'traced bitmap' in Flash, it gives a bad result (no matter the settings).
