Flash pages load on IE Other users on system, also Admin access, can not get same Flash pages to load. Running WinXp. Have tried both IE 6 and 7. Firefox is running fine for all users

Cant Install Flash Player On Firefox
i cant install the newest flashplayer to work on firefox3.0.1.it says :you do not have sufficient disk space to complete this installation,please free 5000kb and try again. i have a brand new 500gb hard drive and its almost empty.
internet explorer has the plugin and it works fine.

Flash Content Blocked When Viewing Offline In IE 6
After installing SP2 for Win XP, I get the following message when I try to view a web page offline with Flash content:

"To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has restricted this file from showing active content that could access your computer. Click here for options..."

I can view pages online with Flash content without problem. I can't find a security setting to solve this. Anyone have any ideas?

Show Flash COntent After Install
I'm working on an intranet here, and I'm using the Macromedia detection kit to determine if my users don't have the plug-in, and it redirects them to an install page.

It works fine, except I thought I'd have it look more professional, like the Macromedia site. There, they have an install swf, and once the ActiveX control is installed, it shows some cool Macromedia content, saying it's installed correctly.

This is what I'm trying to do, after my install is done, I'd like to show some content, or re-direct the user somewhere.

Any suggestions on how I can do this? Thanks!!

Viewing Updated Pages On Users Machines
I am a complete newbie so excuse the question if the answer is simple.

I have just uploaded version 2 of a site but people viewing the site are still seeing the old version. (Which I deleted first).

How do I force their browser to load the new version of the pages. (If this is what I need to do). Is it something I need to add to the html?

Email Flash Content To Mac Users
Can anyone verify that they can view Flash content inside an email viewed on a Mac mail client like Entourage?

Outlook users on Windows are fine. I can't get an email with Flash content to be viewed within an email client (Entourage) on the Mac.

Can anyone confirm this is possible and if so, how?

Does anyone have any information on the following issue I have experienced:

I have built a flash website for a client and they have reported that when they access the website through an AOL interface it doesnt display the content properly?

is it something I have set wrongly in my flash publish settings or an issue with AOls equivalent to Internet Explorer

Hello, and thanks for taking the time.

I'm creating a store map for a company that
is updating at least once a month their list of
current stores. And they want to be able to update
the map on their own, but I have no idea on how
to make it easy for them (not knowing flash) to do
the following:

1.Add another store name.
2.Add the corresponding address and picture.
3.Add the corresponding store map.

So my question is:
Is there any program that lets user update their data
and pictures without messing with flash?

Any ideas or directions to related reading would help

Problems Viewing Flash MX Video
I launched a flash mx video on our company intranet and received some emails from users saying that the video would hang after 30 seconds.

I'm trying to gauge right now just what percentage of users are experiencing problems. Hopefully, it's just a few.

If it's just a small group, I'm wondering if the users having the problem have an early Flash 6 player and need to update to at least revision 40.

My question is, how can I find out what revision they currently have? If they right click on the flash movie, all it's going to say is that they have Flash 6, right? Is there a date and time for the flash.ocx file that can tell me what revision they are running?

Also, if you have any other ideas as to what could be causing the video to hang on some PCs, please let me know.

I have several Powerpoint presentations with video clips that I would like to be made available online. I gave the files to our IT department and we have some software to convert Powerpoint to Flash. It converts except the video.

I know there is some high priced software to do this. Are there any low cost options or companies that can do the conversions for us (rather than us buying software?

Is there any way of enabling older broswers(without a flash plugin present) to view flash content or to make flash mx content viewable in older flash players ie version 5 without having the users download or update a flash player? I have been told this is possible by using a Flash satay? but cannot understand how it would be possible. Can anybody enlighten me or am i being led astray?

I've tested it in other browsers and it's shown fine.

Flash 8 Video Keeps Asking Install Player?
I setup the video script so it detects that you have flash 8, installs it if you don't and brings you right back and plays the video. The issue is, that even though you have flash 8, 9 installed, it keeps asking to install player 9. How do I get rid of it so it knows that you have flash player 8 installed and it won't ask again??

Diverting Users W/o Flash Plugin To Non-flash Content
i have a quick job where i am designing two simple animated flash elements for someone's page. their client would like it so that if the user does not have the flash plugin, they see two static images instead.

i know i can make the static image the background img for the cell that holds the flash content, but is there a way to tell the browser that if it's missing the flash plugin to not indicate anything is missing and just display the bg img? or a jpg instead...

there is mention of something in the flash help about "Flash Dispatcher"... i don't have a "Goodies" folder in my Flash MX directory, is this something that is on the installer CD that you install separately? my CD is buried somewhere (probably under a million wires and dead PCI cards), but if i can find it, is this something that can do what I need?

When publishing Flash content on the Web, you can configure a Web server to make it easier to play Flash movies, using a script-based detector to determine whether a user has the Flash Player plug-in or ActiveX control installed. Got the latest flash player, it's really slowin me down,
I was designing away in IE then relised i can't see any flash when i use firefox.
Also wondering if users might have the same problem as me when viewing my site,
But i can't even work that one out either.

[F8] Flash Content Displays In FIrefox But Not IE
I have a page hosted in a content management system pointing to a movie.flv a movie.swf and a SteelOverAll.swf in a different folder.

It was easy enough to call the movie.swf from the webpage by including the complete path to the swf. The problem was making sure the SteelOverAll.swf was called correctly. In the FLVplayback parameters you can specify a complete path (a custom url) to the playback skin file and also to the movie.flv you are displaying in the container.

And guess what it all works, the movie is displayed with the correct playback skin ... but only in firefox. My question is why doesn't it work in IE, the movie doesn't even load.

Flash Content Rendering On FireFox On Mac

I have a expanding ad test page which works fine on Windows IE and FireFox, but on FireFox on Mac, the clipping doesn't work properly, you will see the stuff on the expanded area after the ad is collapsed.

Anyone knows what could caused this problem? Is it Mac OS related?

Firefox Mac Disappearing Flash Content

I have a strange problem with flash content which is inserted into html page with javascript . it doesn't matter if it's ajax.Updater (prototype lib) loading div with <object classid.... or swfobject.js. now I'm useing ufo.js and I still have the same problem. after the flash object is loaded into the container and scrolling the page flash object disapear. it happens only on mac firefox. I'm begining to think that it's firefox bug on mac but my friend advised me to ask you.

Active X Blocked Content Alert Problem
Hi,

This may be a simple fix but I just finished designing and developing a flash site for a client and I cant fix the pop-up alert in IE. The flash movie viewed on IE requires a few clicks before flash movie begins and I dont want site viewers to have to deal with that before even seeing the site. I believe also that site buttons directing to different web links give warnings too before proceeding in the flash movie. this is my first website I have ever made. I am very extremely proud of the design and I just want it to work out well. I'm more of a designer than a programmer. Please help someone! Thanks in advance.

Flash Won't Load Dynamic Content In Firefox
So I created a flash website, and finalyl uploaded to the internet to do some final testing, and I came upon a weird problem.
My website works perfect in Internet Explorer, but it will not show the images in Firefox. The weirder part is that it loads the images (the preloader works), but it won't display them.

I also tried the site in Safari, and it is weirder there, because now the music won't even load.
I have never had cross browser flash problems, so I am not even sure where to look. Please give me a heads up.

ok so check this out I am doing a site for a small business (8 empolyes). I was going to try and setup up there site where they can go to a page and they can input a user name and password into a text field. Then if the correct user name and password is created then they can advance to the next webpage (a work schedule). And if the wrong username and password is entered then the acess is denied to that webpage. Any suggestions

Users Decide Content?
I've been searching and playing around with a basic application where users fill in a form (or similar text file?) with a number of key words and their meaning e.g. PC and Personal Computer. Then they click a button which takes them to the next frame where all the words are mixed up and other users have to put them in the correct order. Is that actually possible or am I simply wanting too much out of Flash?

Basically, the creator fills in the words and the player drags them to the correct place...does this make any sense?

If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd be very grateful!

Feeding Selected Content To Users
Has anybody got any ideas on this subject.

Feeding selected flv content from a PHP/MySQL database. The link to the contents will be placed on different sites I.e A, B, and C.

I want users from site "A" to only pull "A" content. The content in question is a flash FLV player that would play flash videos.

My assumptions:
Login System and use that to determine what gets delivered. ( Hate the login idea)

Create an FLV Player for each of the sites ( Too much, what I get 300 sites to add the linkage. I would rather use an FLV Template)

I am open to any other solutions. Thank you Ultrashock..

Flash Video Not Displaying In Firefox
Now it's not all flash. Youtube works, and another flash object on a website we're maintaining works fine as well. It's just this specific movie a co-worker of mine made will not display on the site.

Please use IE and go to http://www.glennon.org/ where the problem is occurring.

You will see towards the bottom something called Glennon Video Network. The video series displays there just fine.

Now look at the page in firefox and the flash file does not show.

The flash is implemented by using an include file. Any advice you can give is appreciated.

Problem With Loader Object, Some Users Don´t See The Content
I´m having a weird problem where a Flash is loading another swf object through the a Loader object. For a certain group of users (in a different location), this swf does not load, and no error message or anything is returned.

For me and others in my office, this works without a hitch. I´ve tried adding various event listeners to the Loader, but it appears that for these people no events are fired. The other content in the main swf works just fine. This does not appear to be caused by firewall/adblockers/popup blockers, etc.

I´m fairly new to Flash development, and I really have no idea where to start debugging this. Anyone ever experienced something like this? The swf that is supposed to be loaded is a loader itself, which again loads another, final swf. Everything is served through a webpage, so it´s really weird to see this inconsistent behaviour.

If anyone can give me some tips on where to start, it would be greatly appreciated.

Flash Video Skin Not Loading In Firefox
Hello everyone, I'm having a bit of trouble with a Flash Video file. I'm helping a friend out by doing some work on his webpage. He had a video that he wanted to put up on his news page, so I converted the video to an flv and used the flv player component to make a video player linked it. I uploaded the skin's swf file, the player's swf file, and the flv to the same directory. I made an iframe pointing to the player.swf file in the news section of the site. I tested it in IE; it works like a charm. Video loads, skin loads, and it plays etc... but in any version of firefox, only the video loads and just sits there (autoplay is off). Flash Video Problem With Loading Into FireFox

The file videoEn.swf contains the Flash Video. It seems to load fine in Internet Explorer but when I try in Safari (mac) and Firefox it seems to load the videoEn.swf file because I see simple lines, etc that are also in the file but the video doesn't load? I made sure I downloaded the latest Flash Player also on all browsers and still doesn't seem to load the video? has anyone else had similar problems?

Hi I really hope someone can help on this... been tearing my hair out for months!!

I've made a series of trailers available on my site (www.WorldCinemaOnline.com), and encoded them using flash video.

The issue is that i'm having problems getting these trailers to work in any other browser apart from Internet Explorer... A typical example of where the problem can be found is at: http://www.worldcinemaonline.com/fil...-Le-Monde.html

In Internet Explorer, when you press 'play' the video player fades in, begins buffering, and starts to play back as expected.

In every other browser I have tried, however, (Safari, Opera & Firefox) the video player fades in, looks like it's about to buffer - and then nothing happens.

Am I missing something really obvious here that causes the player, or my code to be incompatible with other browsers?

If anyone can help it'd be very much appreciated & there's a good few free films in there if someone manages to come up with the answer. )

Problems Viewing Video .flv Files
I have just encoded video using flash 8, and this is something I have done in the past successfully.
However, when I click on my flv file to view, the screen is totally blank. This is the case also with all my previous flv files and the ones I created today. Is there anyone out there who has experienced this or anyone knows what the problem might be.

Firefox/flash Player Video Stream Shudder Problem?
I have found on my site and a few others that the recent flash player on firefox (or recent update version of firefox) doesn’t stream flash movies properly - it jerks and shudders, when using good old setBufferTime property on video stream.

if you goto http://www.winchesterva.gov/newdev/econ/ and hover over the tabs at the top of the page you will notice that the drop boxes appear under the flash file, And I would like it to appear on top of the flash ... anyone have any ideas??

Trouble Getting Video Encoder To Install
I installed the demo version of Flash 8, and the authoring program installed fine. However, when I try to run the video encoder, I get a message saying I don't have access to the Config.msi file. My IT contact can't even find that file. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Im funning FMS and streaming about 300 videos from my site.

If I created a video remixer for my user how can they save content they remix. How do they send it to there phone or email the remix video that they created to others. Video Donwload For Slow Users
Since my video is long, is it possible and a good idea to have it in pause mode "false" so it's not playing, just when user clicks "play", so entire video is downloaded? Will this still download video before they click "play"?

[F8]Active Content Not Displaying In FireFox
Hi,

I have applied the Active Content fix using this generator fix.

I used this instead of the solution in the Sticky as i dont have access to all of the SWF files on the server that i am trying to ammend the fix to.

The generator works brilliant for IE7 as all the SWF objects no longer require a click to activate them, however the embedded SWF files do not show up at all in FireFox.

Does anybody know of a solution for this problem of Firefox not displaying the SWf files?

[F8] Content Scaling Working In Firefox But Not In IE

I've made an eCard application which is uploaded for testing purpose on http://computec.com.pk/wbecards/

Now there are a couple of images(Under the background image category panel) that are built in the flash swf, while the others are uploaded by user and displayed in flash.(i've used php to upload the images and get file names from folder)

The uploaded images are first displayed at actual size and then if we click the previous button and see them again, they are resized accordingly. This problem is being encountered in Internet Explorer.

Firefox is working perfect for this. Can any one suggest me any thing to solve this problem? I googled a lot but couldnt find any thing helpful.
