Export With More Quality In The Pix
I am working on a screensaver and I inserted a PNG file but when I export it to swf I have less resolution. I put 100% in JPG files but I am still having the problem.
How can I add more quality to the PNG files?
Thanks in advanced!

The Best Quality Video Export
I have a short flash movie that I want to export as video and burn to CD for a couple of my friends. I don't know too much about digital video, so can anyone tell me which is absolute highest quality of all the differnt "export movie" options? Thanks.

Shocking Export Quality.....
I've started using MX very recently (I'm used to F5) and one thing I'm having a real problem with is the really poor image quality I seem to be getting in my exports. Even elements that are vector shapes look really ropey.

Everything looks aliased and blocky.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a solution?

Many thanks

Awful Export Quality For GIF
Hi.
Can anyone tell me how to export an animation as Animated .GIF
without that awful quality. All exported GIF animations are like that. In Flash they are smooth with normal colors, but when i export them, everything looks scrambled, for example, there are colory dots all over the background, the main character in the animation is blury on some spots and have deformed color schemes etc...

Export To AVI = Horrendously Bad Quality...
With 32-bit alpha, it stutters and pauses. It's simply not the same movie I made. What the heck is up with this? How can I export something - in a VIDEO, not a Flash or SWF file - that reflects what I've actually been working on?
And no - it's the file itself that's ragged, not the playback on my machine.

My Jpegs Are Bad Quality When I Export?
When i am working on my flash movie my jpegs are fine and when i go to preview or export the movie they look very bad...my export settings are on 100 quality for jpegs.. but when i strecth the exported movie(really big) it looks fine....please help

Poor Quality On Export
Greetings,

OK... this an interesting problem that I have never come across. I have a flash website, and it works really great when all of the symbols that make up the movie are on the first frame of the movie (different layers). However, I needed to add some animation effects, so I keyframed all layers to like the 300th frame. I added the animation, and all of a sudden, the whole movies quality dropped.

So... I tried a few experiments. I simply keyframed all the frames to 10, with no animations. Still, the same problem.

So, basically, if the movie has more than one keyframe in any layer, or extends beyond the first frame, then the quality sucks.

I have already set the movie not to compress, and set jpg compression to 100. All images within the movie are set to allow smoothing.

Please help!!! the site looks like crap online right now!!!!

Thanks,

~js

Facing this sick problem where i have a good looking logo jpeg format exported from photoshop full hi quality. But, when i take it to flash and export it, it just doesn't look the same. I tried everything...publish settings > jpeg quality 100, removed 'compress movie' option, import jpeg settings..tried 100 and even export settings....everything...

Finally when i compare both the windows, the jpeg and the swf...i find the image in the swf....SAD!...It's more blur...color loss...dunno what...could someone help me out?!?! PLZ !!! WAAAH !

Very Odd Image Quality Issue On Export
Hello,

I've got a main SWF timeline into which I've imported smaller SWF files that serve as animated buttons.

I've figured out how to force Flash to use .PNG lossless compression on the images in the timeline, and each individual SWF file has that option enabled. When the SWF files are imported into Flash MX, they look as they are supposed to. However, when exporting the main SWF, even with compression turned off and JPEG set to 100 anyway the colors of those SWF files degrade significantly. I wish there was some way to click on a SWF file in the library and force it to not compress, but it appears that may not be possible.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Degraded Image Quality On Export
I have placed images in the timeline and images that are brought in using XML. The images have text on them and when I export the swf it is distorting the text in the image. It looks fine when I export as a JPG and it looks fine when I place it in the timeline. I have tried everything i think for export options such as JPEG quality and compression but nothing works. This is the first time I've had this problem because I normally design with text in Flash, but I need it to be in the image for efficiency in updating with XML. Has anyone else had this issue?

Export FLA To Avi (make It Good Quality)
What is a good export size for a swf animation in a fla to export it to avi...so when I export it and play it on my TV it's not distorted or look bad?

Along with the dimensions, what settings get the best results?

JPEG Quality Doesn't Change On Export In MX?
Hey all!

I'm not sure what's up, maybe I'm missing a preference or something, but I've looked long and hard.

I've just started using MX instead of 5 and for some reason no matter what the JPEG quality level I set it to on export, it doesn't change it. If I set it to 1 the filesize and appearance is the same as if I set it on 100. In fact if I set it to 1 it still looks like it doesnt optimize at all.

I've looked and looked and looked but I'm stumped. I never had this problem with 5.

Thank you for any help!!

Poor Image Quality On Export URGENT
I posted this already but I wanted to sum things up so you do not have to read through all of the posts that did not work. I deleted the old post. This is holding me up at my job and I am on my 2nd day researching this. I also have another post where this same file is jacking up my text that is tweened over this image. If you have the time check that out as well, please.

Here is what I tried:
1) I have imported a png (also tried jpg)it is of a face and some squares. The pic looks ok through out the timeline.

2) THe pic was imported at the exact size it needed to be, no resize necessary.

3) THe quality settings are at 100% and I unchecked use default quality.

I have searched all over and all of the answers to this question seem to be what I have listed above. It seemed to help most of the users that asked the same question I am now but it is not helping my situation. When I export the swf file, you can see on the left side where the squares are is dithered pretty bad and I can not use this on a company site.

I attached the original jpg and fla so you can see and possibly tell me what I am doing incorrectly.

Thank you for any help with this.

Preview Looks Good, Export Loses Quality
Hey...I'm new to Flash and having trouble with it already! I needed to create a couple tweens which transform the size of jpgs. In the preview mode, the images look fine. Once I export it to .swf file, it loses quality greatly. Images look "pixelized". I exported it, uncompressed, and 100 quality. What are the reasons for this? How can I avoid it? Thanks!

<param Name=quality Value=low> Plays High Quality Flash
I want to adjust some flash content on my site depending on user rights.
The systems shows a slide show with swf/images, if the user is logged in he will also see a list of thumbnails with all flashes that is going to appear in the sideshow. This list is contained within XHTML markup and has nothing to do with the slide show other than containing the individual slides.

It would be nice if I could set the quality for the swf's in the thumbnails to low since 10-20 high res flashes tend to use a lot of CPU. Using <param name=quality value=low /> to achieve this has so fare granted no success.

Things I've tried so far are:

1. Setting <param name="quality" value="low" /> for the individual flashes in the thumbnail list. The flashes are still displayed in high res. Tried using " ' and no hyphens.
2. Sending the flash var _quality=low through the src of the thumbnail list elements. <param name="movie" value="/src/flash/movie.swf?_quality=low" /> with and without hyphens.
3. Googling quality settings for flash which all say to use <param name="quality" value="low" />

Things to point out:
1. I have no control over the swf. These come from all sort of people so I need to be able to adjust the quality via the web page.
2. I've tried different ways of writing the quality strings. value='low' value="low" value=low and so on.
3. The quality settings change if i right click and select quality -> low but they always start at high.
4. The source code writes what I expect it to, the flash simply ignores the values I send it.
5. I'm using a windows based machine with Fire Fox 2 and CS2, the site uses XHTML and my flash player is 9,0,124,0

Image Quality Lost, Exported At 100% JPEG Quality
I am working on a Flash website for a design group to display their work. These designs needed to be scaled down to fit the format of the website and many of these designs have body copy with small text. In the FLA file they look ok, but when I export the SWF, the text looks really bad.I know JPEG compression isn't very good for text but even when I export at 100% JPEG quality it still ends up looking different. The text looks very "sparkly" with the thins of the letters have been lost. The original assets that they gave me were all in one photoshop file at 150dpi with one design per layer and some of the text were just slightly pixelated if you zoom in (all text were rasterized and flattened into the designs). Some of the same images supposedly from that file had been used on their previous site with no problem. On some of the images in the PSD I can see that some of the thin strokes in the letters had been lost a little from scaling the designs down. This has been really frustrating and I can't think of how to rememdy this problem. Anyone have any suggestions?

-Sorry I did not realize that someone had already asked the smae type of question. I am trying the suggestions from the other thread.

Low Quality Movie With High Quality Files?
hello again...well in the meantime the only way i managed to keep my pixel fonts crisp is by putting the movie quality to low ...however...i have some graphics in it that really won't show with low quality. is there any way i can have the movie at low quality yet be able to show certain graphics in high quality? perhaps by importing them in a certain format, or can i apply a property to them or someting??? or is it all or nothing?

i would appreciate any suggestion!

Low Quality Mc In High Quality Movie
the thing is....
i have my movie which is in high quality then i want one movieclip within this movie to be low quality, so i gave it this action:

onClipEvent (load) {
_quality=low;
}

this didnt work and the whole thing is still in high quality.

THX!!

High Quality To Low Quality Question
I have a loader taking up frames 1 - 3 that I want to remain as high quality and then from there on in frames 4 - 19 I want as low quality.

I have added on frame 1

_quality=high

and then on frame 4

_quality=low

But this does not seem to work - it seems to always be low quality throughout.

Where am I going wrong? - Any help would be so so so so welcome

Thanks in advance

Export Image: Export All Frames As Individual Swf
I'm creating several flash files with 20-40 frames each using MX 2004 Pro. I need to export each frame as an individual .swf file. I've found that this can be done through File->Export->Export Image. However, I have to export each one individually, and this becomes very time consuming. Does anyone know of a way to export all the frames as individual .swf files in one step? Am I missing something simple here?

Thanks in advance

Export Doesnt Export Properly

Flash Quality
For instance, if you create a flash site in MX 2004, but when you publish and export it all you save it as a lower flash version, say 5. Does this lower quality/speed/anything of importance?

Quality For Wmv, Mov, Avi With Flash
I have a rather interesting problem. I am working on a huge educational application that loads into html flash movies, java applets and 3d animations exported as avi and wmv.
Everything is controlled from inside a main Flash movie (a flash built interface). The reason I am using wmv format is that I can put mark-ups inside the movie at points that I want it to stop and that way I can send events out to javascript and finally to the flash interface.

Here comes my problem: Windows Media Player 9 is the only player (as far as I know) that recognizes those marks. But MR BILL decided that WMP9 is way too cool for Windows 95/98 (it works fine on 98SE, ME, 2000, XP) so my clients won't be able to use what I'm giving them on Win 95/98 systems.
I have tried exporting the 3d animations as avi and embeding them into swf movies, but the problem is that the movies are VERY-VERY HIGH QUALITY (and 640x480 format) and when Flash embeds them it looses lots of details and quality.

I am thinking about exporting them as Quicktime format mov (I haven't found out yet if Quicktime allows markers and if it works on all operating systems, but I sure hope so). What do you think about that idea? (I have to buy licence for Quicktime though)

Is there another solution and i can't see it? Do you know any programs that export AVI/WMV to SWF ? Can you help me with any ideas, advices, solutions?

Thank you in advance to those who will take me out of my misery

Bad Quality Flash
can someone help me out here pls ?
my flash has been nicely done, and when previewed from flash or when displayed in .swf, looks perfectly fine.
however, when i upload it online or when i preview it using IE or mozilla or any other browsers, some of my edges (pictures and fonts) look really jagged, causing my flash to look really low quality. why is that so ? can someone hlpe me pls thanks!

BAD GRAPHIC QUALITY OUT OF FLASH :(
Hi,
Anybody know why some graphics ( *.gif ) look much worth when produced in Flash's .SWF on a webpage then in original, while they still look OK in the Flash editor.

How could I fix this?

that's a x2 image of the webpage

To make everything fade out, I used a black cover that slowly tweaks it's alpha from 0% to 100%
Now on the next frame over the cover's keyframe (0%) it suddenly turns brighter and only then starts going darker.

Also the color if far from pure, as you can see in the image...

Thanx!

Printing Quality In Flash
G'Day all,

I was just wondering if printing small fonts or anything in Flash renders the quality poor? Are there any traps to watch out for when printing in Flash???

Flash Mx Low Quality Publishing...
I am not sure if it happens to others but it seems that it happens to me once in a while... what do I mean by lack of quality in publish... well you know that you see your movie as you work on it in a certain manner, well there seems to be times when the plubished file was small errors. One for example would be a ROUND eye in a face that is suppose to move (the eye is inside several symbols), at publish it moves but the problem is that it doesnt look quite as ROUND, more like an octagon I would say -_-.

Is it just me or is there actually something that causes flash to do this? Does anyone else experience the same thing?

JPEG. Quality In FLASH.
Question:

I work in photoshop to save all of my images for the web,
by the **save for web** option.

I am on a Macintosh with a plasma flat screen, and I optimize the images usually around 60-70 percent, and don't ever see any pixelation.

After, I published my site, and viewed it on, PC's and other older monitors, the JPEG quality looks like ****e.

Does anyone know anything about this?

Check My site: www.carpeinternational.com

look at jpegs. give me some info..

cheers.

happy 300th post to me!

Flash CD-R Poor Quality
Hi there
I made a 3 minute CD using all vectorgraphics.
When I run the CD on my P4 it works great, on other especially older machines not so hot.
Should I look at exporting the file as a projector director (pain)
or is there a better solution to chase?

Thanks

Bitmap Quality In Flash
Hi.. I imported a jpeg files with a good quality into my flash, but after published my flash.. the quality of the bitmap image degraded big time . I've tried to change the settings in the symbol and also on the publish setting..

Image Quality In Flash..
Hello,
I am a photographer and am building an image site. Whenever I import jpg's into the movie they become bland and lifeless. It seems that if I increase the dpi it obviously improves. Is there a trick? I have tried turning smoothing off but still not getting what I see in Photoshop.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Bad Quality Text In Flash...
What's the deal with fuzzy looking text in flash? Makes me want to go back to html & photoshop...

Flash Exporting Quality
All righty.

First off hello.

Second off, a big old cry for HELP...

Take this image for instance, its a jpg.
menubar.jpg

And this is a flash version of the same thing:
Menubar.swf

As you can see teh quality difference is HUGE. I really want better quality with flash, but i dont know how to do it. You see all those flash sites like. www.webagent007.com

And the images are so crisp and clean. What am I doing wrong? Thanks sooo much. Fardunwaith...

ps: There had better be a way to do this, you can make higer quality looking flash in photoshop/

pps: I use Studio MX 2004 with flash pro, and photoshop/imageready CS

ppss: i know the gradients are different.
Thanks again.

Stroke Quality In Flash
I did a Flash portfolio where i have these thumbnails icons (it is actually a square image with 1px stroke over it).

When I published the SWF, the thumbnails icons' stroke seems to be quite thick as compared to my original image.

I tried setting the JPEG settings to 100% but it doesn't change the stroke.

I have already done up the thumbnail image in Photoshop applying the 1px stroke on it then import to Flash.

Anyone have any idea how I can fix it? Seems ugly with that kind of unbalanced stroke around the thumbnails.

To illustrate what I meant, I posted up a screen of it.

Flash To AVI JibJab Quality
Hi

Im doing a flash animation for TV playback and possible broadcast and I'm assuming the following

I need to do it at 720 x 480 and 30FPS

What is the best way to covert it to AVI OR MOV and get the high quality. Using AVI and MOV out of Flash at 30FPS is dodgy at best and none of the converters I've tried is really cutting it.
What is the best suggestion to get TV quality from a flash movie? Do I have to do it at 30fps or is 15 ok?

Anyone dong this type of work I'd appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks

Jpeg Quality In Flash
I'm currently creating a flash site for a photographer and the image quality is becoming a problem. The Jpegs seem to really decrease in quality when published to the web. I have put the "Quality = Best" script in the first frame of the movie but my general question is....

do jpegs just look better in non-flash sites?

[F8] Problems With Jpg Quality In Flash
Hello,

I need urgent help I hope someone can give me correct solutions.

I'm doing a design in which I'll be loading jpg's, there just around 160x300 pixels...these photos are save as jpg's in photoshop in 10 quality. They look good, the problem is when I import them in flash they look horrible, the quality goes very low and useless. I've tried saving in other formats and no luck.

I have enclosed some test files to see what I mean.

Can someone tell me how to solve these problem and make them look as good as the look outside flash inside flash too? I also found that images resize inside flash look terrible thats why I was force to resize them in photoshop instead of flash as I initially intended.

Thanks in advance.

Flash To Quicktime Quality
I need to export a Quicktime from Flash and am having some quality issues. My published .swf looks great, but the image quality in my exported Quicktime looks like garbage. Currently the publish settings from Flash are set at 80 for jpeg quality, but even raising it to 100 doesn't seem to make much of a difference. Any ideas? This project's deadline is today

Set Quality Of A Flash Movie.
Hi!
I got a problem. I want to change the quality of the grafics of my movie by pressing on a buton. what would be the code for this?

Strange Quality In Flash CS3
Hi everybody,

I bought a new computer and I don't know what this is,
but when I aply filters to MovieClips or if I use Gradients the quality sucks.
The colors are not really gradient but they move from step to step.

In photoshop I don't have this problem so it can't be my computer I think.

When I make a 60px gradient from black to dark grey it is done in 12 steps 5px each..

Anybody else had this problem?

Thanks!
