I have a HTML website and need to know how to load a flash file as a pop-up window.
What would be the code within the HTML file. I need the Flash media file (which is a music player) to load up automatically as a pop-up window.

Load FLV File Into Component Display Window Via HTML Or Java
I have an assignment where I need to create a flash video player using the component display.
I want to place the flash object into an html document. I have multiple FLV files that I would like to play in this player. I would like to control the flash object with media controller.
I want to place a lot of buttons into the html document. Depending on which button you click on a different FLV file would load into the Flash Display component.
Please, let me know if you have any suggestion or if you need more information in order to better understand the assignment.

when a user presses say Forums i would like an animation to roll a table out on the page , then the html open only on that table , something kinda like a iframe in html
i pretty new to flash soo it might be basic but i have no idea what its called

Continuous Flash File In Html Website?
Hi, please can someone help. I need to make a html site in dreamweaver but with using a flash music file that runs continuously throughout the site.
If I just put the flash into each page, the music resets itself as soon as you go to the next page.
I know that you can do an iframe in dreamweaver and put each page inside it but is there an easy way, perhaps with some code in flash or any other way to get this working? thanks for any help you can give.

HTML Pop-up Window From SWF File (Flash 4)
I'm stuck. I am creating a Flash banner ad. The site it will run on requires a pop-up window at a specified size for one of my links in the ad, and they require a Flash 4 .SWF file as final art.
My problem is creating the pop up. I can accomplish this when I use the HTML file generated by Flash and add corresponding Javascript to the <Head> tag, but it won't work when I just run the SWF file by itself. Any suggestions?

Hello all, I'm new to this board. I'm creating a gallery website of my artwork for my computer graphics class and I've been struggling with a problem. When a link to my gallery is clicked in my flash file the site animates to expand an area where a thumbnail gallery will appear. Now I have been trying to have a window of some sort be withing that area that loads up a url that has the thumbnail images and navigation. That in turn will load up the full image in the center of the site whne a thumbnail is clicked which needs to also be a sized window that loads an html file. I tried using the behaviors - web - go to web script but that will load up a new window in the browser outside the flash file. I also tried using the component Window feature but coudln't get that to load up any url. I need to load the html inside the flash and not open an new browser window. Please give me any ideas and tips you may have. Thank you.

Problem With Pop-Up Window For A Standalone Flash File NOT Html
This is for a Projector Flash file made for CD (.exe) & not for the internet:
I want to have a 2nd window pop-up by javascripting a button. I have the same problem as others where 2 windows appear --> one full-size with the word [object] ... a 2nd window the correct size, but my quicktime movie won't play.
When I view it as an .html file the full-sized (unwanted) window appears, but the correct size works (quicktime movie plays). This is where I'm confused.
1.) How do you get the pop-up window to work for a Flash CD file (.exe)?
2.) and then not make the [object] page appear.
Remember, this is a Projector file and NOT for the internet.
Here's my scripting for the button call-up a new window:

I know you can do that inserting the flash file into a html file, but this is not the case, the flash file will not be inserted into a html file.

also the flash file will be in fullscreen mode. How can I force the html file to be the first to be seen in the screen? (the problem is that when I open the html file, it loads minimized)

How can I open an html file INSIDE a small window WITHIN a flash document.
My site is 100% flash, and within it, i want to open another website inside a small window in the middle of my flash site.
TO BE CLEAR: i don't want to separate my flash site from the html site i'm trying to open, I don't want to split the site into a top and a bottom... just trying to use a box in the middle of my Flash site to display some html content from the web.
Any ideas???? I'm stumped!

I'm using getURL(); to pop open a new window from a projector file but the projector is taking hierarchy over the pop-up window. I need the window to appear ABOVE the projector file. I've heard you need third party software to do this (something like freeMX) but i'm wondering if someone has another solution.

How To Setup The Html File With Flash In It Without Anyscrollbar In Any Window Sizes?
Hi,
I am currently trying to figure it out how to create a flash bubble in html file without the scrollbar across the bottom and the side (resizable window without any scrollbar appear) which similar to the site www.ilovehachi.com.
I have no clue how to set up this document without the scrollbars in any window sizes. My flash size at the bottom is 1024 pxl now. I havent started my flash animation to avoid to re-do process. Should I do the sizing in flash or in html?

Calling Window.open In Embedded Html In Flash File
hey people,
this one may sound easy but i've been having some problem with it for some time now.
i have a dynamic text field in flash that opens a html script inside of it. now in the html document which is embedded inside the text field i have links to various different websites that call a javascript widow.open command. (each link has its own window.open command) The problem is every time a user presses on the link it opens up a new window to the site like its supposde to but it also replaces the main flash movie browser with a error page.
I've tested it on both pc's and macs and this problem only occurs on pc's. on mac it works completely fine. i also tested it on

I want the icon movie on the left to play first and after it is done, I want to be able to call the main SWF file to play in the center of the black area. After that's done, I want that main SWF file to call the text logo movie to play that comes in on the right side of the screen.
I assume that I will use a placeholder of some sort in an HTML cell and it will be replaced by the swf file, but I don't know how to call it with actionscript. Any ideas?

is it possible to load a .html file from within a flash movie? i tried placing a "load movie" action on a button but it doesn't work.
i am creating a cd with flash and i have a .inf file loading a .exe and i wanted the user to then be able to choose the flash version or the html version. but the "load movie" comand will not open the html file in the browser.
is there a better way to do this? can i use autorun.inf to open the html file in the browser? it doesn't seem to work the same as an .exe.

I am trying to get a flash file to load a value for a variable from an HTML page and then check that variable for a value and make a decision based on that value.
I did the following in the embed and object tags in the html file
myflashfile.swf?myvariable=onetwo
This worked fine and the value of myvariable then became onetwo in the flash file (myvariable is a dynamic text box).
However, when I tried adding this to frame one:
If (myvariable == one two) {
gotoAndPlay (2);
} else {
gotoAndPlay (33);
}
The problem is that the flash file would always go to frame 33.
The reason why Im doing this is as a security measure. The logic is that if you load the flash file directly by typing in the path in the browser, then the value of myvariable will not be set. But if the file is loaded as part of the html page, then myvarible will be set to onetwo and the file will run normally.
Can anyone help me with this problem or suggest an alternate way of doing this?

Load An HTML Page Into Flash Exe File
Hi,
I am working on a kiosk project that I am building in flash 8 and plan to deploy as an .exe file run through flash player.
There are a couple of page that are going to contain some data from one of our vendors. That vendor has some proprietary software that generates html page.
Without going into the long, drawn out explanations as to why I can't strip out what I need from that HTML page, I need to know if I can load an entire HTML page onto my main stage?????
I did a search on this site's past threads but most of the replies are over a year old related to this subject and I was hoping with flash 7 or 8 there may be been some new possibilities created.
By the way, I saw some solutions that suggested using iframes but since I building this all in flash (and am not embedding into an html document) I assume I can't use the iframes solution for a flash .exe file.
At this point there are no alternatives available. Has anyone played around with trying to do this?

I heard that it can load your HTML into Flash environment.
Well, in my mind, it means, if this is true, I can skip those irritating HTML IFRAME IFRAME methods.
But so far I don't know how.
And I don't even know whether the loading target should be into the Text Field or into the Dummy Movie Box.
And I don't even know the correct Actionscript to perform such task.
I try loadMovie("test.html",_root.targetmovie);
and loadVariables("test.html",somevar);
But it doesn't work at all.

Button Going To Html File, Want Html To Be Specific Size In Window
When I click on a button in my flash project, it takes the user to a html file. In that file the user can click on different .pdf files. I would like to make the html file a certain sized window example 300x400. I do not know what code (or where to put it in the html file) to use to make the window constrain to 300x400. Also, I would like the users computer to open acrobat reader in a seperate window, when they click on a .pdf link. Right now, it just opens in the original html file so the user has to hit the back button to get back to the original html file. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it muchly!

Website Help, External File Doesn't Load Right
I've been working on this website at http://www.ifk.be/nl.html and I have a problem loading. The thing is, the menu has 8 buttons ... which all lead to different movies. (I've heard that this can all be done in one but since it would be way more difficult for me and perhaps I can't do everything I want then I just do it with 8 different movies).
Each of those 8 movies loads text from an external .txt file. Now, the problem is that, when you press a button the first time it will only load the new movie (as you can see by the switching background of 'home' to something else and back), and you have to press it again to get the text loaded in that movie. (if you don't know what I mean, press a button a few times to see what happens, then press another a few times ... the text is always one click behind).
Is there anyone who knows how I solve this structural dilemma ?
The Index.html File Doesn´t Work On Website

I just uploaded my first flash website (in as3) files from SmartFTP program into the web server including everything (swf, index.html and ac_runactive_content.js files). The problem is that when you visit on the site the preloader works fine (I think) but all I can see after the preloader goes away, is the menubar above the screen. And it doesn´t work.

I think that all the publish settings are OK in the flash cs3 in the preloader.fla file and index.fla file

Hi, at this site, www.jerrycantrell.com, he has flash buttons and when you click on one it changes the content in a small scroll bar window of the page but doesnt reload the whole page, this looks slick. but it is dealing with html, so this question doesnt completely have to do with flash. but i assume the linking commands in flash have most to do with this, all im able to do is change the page entirely with a link, and when i'm only changing somthing in one window its not as quick and because it reloads the whole page just for that one thing it doesnt look as slick because there's a blank white screen between loading the new page.. only for a second, but you get the just of it. anyone know how to do this? much thanks
