I Need Software To Convert Mac .swf To PC. Scr Screensaver - Any Ideas Please
Hi, this is my first post so hope I don't break any rules!
I work on Flash 5 on a Mac and need to send my client a .scr for Windows/PC. I have been trying to work out how to convert the .swf file.
I Googled this and Zinc 2.5 seemed to be the answer but after downloading the trial version for Mac found it doesn't support Windows so I downloaded the Windows version with Mac add on (to a borrowed Windows laptop) as suggested by support and that only allows .exe conversion. After asking their support they said it couldn't be done currently (full answer at the bottom in case I read it wrong and for those interested).
In order to try and solve this I have now downloaded a Flash 8 trial version since I was planning to upgrade anyway. I haven't had much time to look at it yet though!
I also tried ScreenTime on recommendation of a friend and that didn't display certain elements of the animation and wouldn't export to PC.
I have spent 2 days trying to find an answer for this and am sure it can be done but just don't know what application I need. hope someone can help please.

"unfortunately we cannot provide Mac OSX ZINC IDE which could also export fully capable Windows based applications which offers the same level of funcitonality that is available for applications created on Windows with ZINC IDE for Windows - that is related to the fact that we are using libraries which are not portable to Mac OSX from Windows (part of core Windows API libraries which are available for any application build and run on Windows os and which not become members of compiled application but are used at runtime as core Windows api),
We are under the process of porting the same functionality to Mac OSX version using libraries which are not core part of Windows OS but use exacty the same functionality - which is unfortunately long process,
We have been requested for OSX version of IDE that would be also capable to export fully featured Windows ZINC applications and that is something we are working on,
That means that until we release OSX version of our tool that can create OSX and/or Windows application at the same time Mac OSX users have to have another ZINC IDE for Windows installed on Windows PC machine to be able to create Windows applications,
However authoring development process can be entirely made on single OS using Flash IDE - excluding runtime check on windows or OSX os of ZINC compiled application,"

Hi folks.
I am trying do a screensaver for a client, but this client want all perfect.
Must have the password protection, must run well in windows 98 at XP, and the performance of the original swf must be similar.
I try a lot of programans, but many of this destroy the performance of my swf.. the animation became very slowly..

I have been using screentime (http://www.screentime.com/software/stf/) for some time and have been impressed with the product however have been experiencing some problems. As such I was wondering if anyone could recommend any other powerful alternatives that offer built in commands (eg. writing files, reading files, etc).

Convert Swf To Screensaver (as2.0)
hey all. is there any 3rd party software that can convert a swf into a screensaver that is compatible with as2.0? ive been using software called Screentime which has worked out nicely for a long time... however, now ive got files that utilize the new as2.0 system of organization, i.e. the swf is pulling in external .as files... so, when the screensaver gets built, nothing happens (presumably because the as2.0 files are missing?).
does this mean that external .as files arent compiled into the swf when its generated? is there any way around this dilemma?

hello. i am looking for a piece of software to convert video/audio into FLV/mp3 formats. our client is uploading media to our server via coldfusion. once the media is uploaded we need a way to convert the files via command line or some sort of "folder watcher" to automatically convert the files. Ideally; after the file had been uploaded we will then call the software via command line and say : "input:c:myVideo.mpeg output:c:myVideo.FLV". Hopefully i am making some sense.

Video Capturing Software To Convert To Flv Using Adobe Media Encoder
Which is the easiest way to capture a video on windows and import it into Flash ?
I'm working on mac, I'm using:
- copernicus (for mac only) to record the movie and save it as .mov
- then I convert .mov to .flv with Adobe Media Encoder.
and I import it.
With windows I tried out several video capturing tools, but the encoding gave me always problems with Adobe Media Encoder.
Could you suggest a software that you've already tried out to capture videos?

ScreenSaver ~ Thanks for taking the time to view this Post. Maybe you've heard of a Game Called StarSiege? I'm in a squad/clan of around 85 members. My first desire/goal with SWISH2 is to make a ScreenSaver for All the Members.
I have a Vision of the finish product and not to get the cart before the horse but once the product is finished how do I get it installed into and a working Screensaver? I ask because there is going to be a tremedous amount of work done on the project and I want to run test to insure it's a workable product so my work is not in vain. I it's important info to know I have Windows XP.
My second question is that I suppose in all the reading I have done about SWISH2 since I got it is that the easyiest way to make the screensaver would be to take ScreenShots/Images/Pics of say our Vehicles in our Squads Skins/Uniforms and set them up on like 15 frames each, so they are still shots that replace/rotate one another? My Vision is much more intense than that in that I want to actually make it like a Movie. I understand the process of making an Animated movie from many years ago doing one with an 8mm camera filming like 5 to 10 frames then movie or changing everything say forward just a tiny bit then taking 5 to 10 frames of that still shot and repeating the process.
Now from that I have a few questions:
1~ Is there a Limit on the number of Frames you can use for the total project? If so what is it?
2~ In All my reading there doesn't seem to be a way to import and place an image that doesn't have flat sides? What I mean is lets take an image like a Vehicle or even a BeachBall and you want it to bounch or fly accross a background that is complexed/detailed, when you import that image in it comes in a box with the background from the image you got it from. How can you get just the BeachBall or the Vehicle itself so it will look natural on a totally different Background? I've done alot of work with like the PaintShops and you can trace-outline the actual image and click a button on the tool bar that clears the background.
Oh HELL did I just answer my own question? Meaning what I'm going to have to do is create every single sceene on "PaintShop" pics and then import each one of the whole Movie/ScreenSaver? Wow! I hope not, Please tell me there is an easyier way?
3~ What would be the best Image types to use anyway? Bmp., Jpg., Gif. ????????????????????????????????

Is there any way to make a screensaver out of a shockwave or projector file, and make it automatically full-screen? I tried putting the shockwave into "Screentime", but it doesn't go full screen, even though the actual shockwave does.....thanks.

I need to create a screensaver that can be distributed to PC users and to MAC users. I use a MAC, so was wondering if anyone knew of any software that I can run on a MAC (I don't have a PC), but can save screensavers in both formats - similar to the way you can publish both PC and MAC projector files in Flash.

I want a actionscript that will place a MC onto random conordiants, random size and random alpha. Ive tries, but cant. I want it to have the effect like the windows flag screensaver.

I am using Screentime for flash to create a text based screensaver. My question is, if the user always has internet connectivity, can I make the text dynamic? Can I set it up so that the user can install said screensaver but give a user/database the ability to change the dynamic text and not have to have the screensaver reinstalled?

then a screensaver comes up.
but when u move the mouse, the timer starts over, and if the screensaver is loaded, it makes the screensaver disapear

i did a search on google to try to convert swf to scr but all i can find is software that you have to pay $40 for.
