I want to recreate that scrolling image effect but I want to have more control on speed. + I also want to put a background image that scrolls on a loop on it's own behind the images.

ps i've seen a couple on the flashkit site but the images are blocks of text which you change with actionscripting, not quiet what I want. I want the images to be rollovers that jump somewhere else in the movie.

I would love to have the actual functionality of just the movement of 3 or more images going back and forth with buttons and the masking effect as well; not the other stuff. There's a couple of vaguely similar fla's on flashkit but not like this.

Need To Recreate Two Efx Here
If you go to the url below after the signature and preloader you will see photos changing. There is a button on the bottom left. When pressed it changes the background color and the text. I tried to figure this out using a movie clip but I cannot find how to change the background so I'm thinking there is a layer that actually changes. Now the text part is really tricky and I need to recreate these two parts.

After messing around a little I see this can probably be done with "add event" by drawing a black rectangle the size of the stage and the button release will make the black rectangle show on stage

Two questions here, how can I do this to make the button control the background and the text color change like in the url?

I'm sure this can be done in AS2

Recreate This Jpg In Flash
Hi...Im trying to convert my company's logo from a jpg to a flash movieclip...I need to do this because the jpg has a static background of white...but I need the background to be transparent so that only the text graphix show up above everything else...assuming I can get a hold of the font used for the logo...how would I do all the fancy shading/lighting with the "bent horizon" look across it? I am by no means a designer...merely a wannabe developer...so I know nothing as far as the pretty part of flash is concerned...here is the logo I am trying to duplicate...and by all means I am open to making it look better than it does now....

Is This That Hard To Recreate?
So far this has stumped everybody I show it to. I need to recreate the efx on this page. I know how to create the signature and the large photos changing. I need to find out how the button changes both the background and text. I would think the button calls up an mc of a black layer but the text can be changed throughout the site as you can see the background around the signature changes as well, transparent background? Then the menu which I know is a movie clip too but the way it opens and pushes the rest down when the child opens, really cool and notice the text color changes that clip as well. I'm thinking movie clips on different levels? But does anybody know how the text and background changes colors?

I have this chat window and it connects to the VB server fine and it sends text to the server fine and recieves it back from the server when it is sent from itself but when the server or other client (java client) sends the text the flash will not update until it sends some text itself and then the text that was sent from other clients along with the text from itself is displayed.

I'm building a site using NetObjects Fusion 8. One of their templates (photography) incluses a sample Flash movie. The effect is that of a lens apeture opening and closing to change pictures.

Some days ago I came across a site that uses a menu very similar to the one I had in mind for my own site. The only problem is that my current knowledge of Flash MX is pretty basic- I hope that maybe some of you guys could explain me how to create something like this.

I wasn´t able to find out how to add smooth borders to shapes- do I have to import those from freehand? I think Flash3 had some kind of smooth effect but I couldn´t find it in MX.

How Can I Recreate This Effect From GOTHIKA

there are three thumbnails, two with halle berry. When you roll over them, the image brightens a bit and the highlights flare out. It's a nice effect and I've been trying to recreate it, but I can't. How did they do this?

I dissected the flash file and noticed that they only used the one image. In other words, they didn't have an image of halle berry, and then another one of her brighter.

The other thing is that, if you try to 'brighten' the symbol in flash, it just makes the whole thing whiter, which isn't the desired effect. How can I recreate this effect from the gothika site?

What is the secret?

My business is interested in setting up a small scale wikipedia type system, so that our employees can add information on projects and get tagged information about the project which word tags to other projects,

I've tried doing the obligitory google search, however as you would guess 'wikipedia' is a very common term and I cannot find any other discussion and/or open source experiments which might help me put this kind of project together.
