I Want A Macromedia Flash Button
Hi does anyone know where i can get the macromedia flash button? I need one so i can tell people that they need the player in order to view the site. Can i find them on the web some where i will probably add effects and sound to it. Let me know where i can get one of those buttons. Thanks

Macromedia Flash 8: BUTTON Problems
I have made a button and copied it to another frame but the actionscript is different so i changed the copied one. The problem is, when i changed the actionscript & the appearance of the other the another one changes to! it pisses me off cause i don't want to make a new button per every frame cause it's very time consuming... what should i do?

I know i could design my own but quite frankly i cant be arsed so does anyone know where i can download the 'official' button or does everyone just copy it off another site? i tried a quick search on macromedia but couldn't seem to find anything. How Do U Create The Macromedia.com Button Effect With Fade Out
hi all, this is for FLASH 5.
on the macromedia site they have nav buttons along the top (not the big swf with ads) when the user holds mouse over button it plays an mc of the menu color changing to blue slowly, simple they just add an mc to button on frame 2 of the button instance, but when the user moves mouse off the button it fades out slowly ???
if i have not been clear here please tell me, but i am sure u will know what i mean.
can anyone tell me what actionscript is required to get the button to fade out once mouse is moved away ???

Want to create a menu similar to the one that is on the presentation, but having some issues with the button states that are involved in keeping the menu up while moving over the other buttons.

Button Roll-over Effects Like Macromedia Site?
I am looking for button roll-over effect, exactly the same as the ones in marcomedia site which fade slowly after your mouse moves out. It is tricky to make? I'm only newbie on the world of Flash MX.
Also what is best learning methods for learning to use flash? Like college course, on your own, samples or learning book etc

I was doing a tutorial for walking animations on a stick figure, the problem is it was made for flash 5.0, so some stuff that was mentioned wasn't where it said it was. It asked me to go to frames panel but i have no idea where is that in flash mx, help anyone?

I'm interested in creating a menu system similar to the one on macromedia.com (the one that starts with - Home Products MX 2004 etc). I've been trying to figure out how to do this and I just can't pinpoint it.
I'm using Flash MX. If someone could point me in the right direction I could probably run with it. I'm guessing theres variables used somehow so that when you jump from one button to another, the one that you roll off of turns off before the new menu selection below the main buttons turns on. I'm not sure if they are using buttons or movieclips as buttons. Any help will be appreciated.

Macromedia Flash 5
Does anyone know where I can get a copy of Flash 5? Macromedia doesnt sell older versions of Flash. I need Flash 5 because that seems to be the best version of Flash that properly imports linework from Illustrator. In MX and MX 2004, the linework (dashed lines) does not interpret properly.

New To Macromedia Flash And Need Your Help
hello everybody,
yes, i am a brand new user of macromedia flash, but i became familiar to it faster than I expected
So i need and appreciate your help very much.
i have some problems that i want you to help me to solve it.
i am making a movie clip that have some animations and explanatory sound track in the background,
i need to make a Pause/Play button which when i click it for the first time it changes to the Play icon and pauses the animation and sound, and vice versa.
i tried to make two buttons with two different images the Pause button at the top and the Play button under it, so when the user clicks Pause i write some commands in the Actions so the Pause button disappears and consequently the Play button which is under it appears as a result, and when i click the Play button the animation resumes and the Pause button appears again so as a result it returns on the top of the Play button hiding it.
I have two problems doing this, the first one don't know how to hide the button, second i could stop the sound track in the pause state but don't know how to continue from the place it stoped at.
BOTTOM LINE
I need to know how to hide a button.
I need to know how to pause audio and resume it again from the position it was paused at.
Please Help Me

What $699 For Flash When It Used To Be $99 From Macromedia
I have an older version of Flash from Macromedia, it cost me $99. I downloaded it, (should have bought a box version) because now that I have a new computer, I can't use my Flash. Now Adobe charges $699 for basically the same product!? Even their upgrade price is more than 2 times what I paid Macromedia.
Adobe sucks!
Help With Macromedia Flash
Ok, this is my story. I was making a flash animation of "Metroid Sprites" and it took from from 12am-4am in the morning without saving. Then I was like, "Oh crap I should save".
So I go ahead and save it to my desktop. There no problem, right? WRONG, I then clicked after I saved, "Save and Compact". Now I have no clue why I clicked that Idk, I don't even remember I was in such a daze. I then couldn't see all my keyframes and animations.
So I sat there and cried (not really). I had no idea how to see my flash ever Again. I am so depressed because I sat there and did all of that work for nothing. Now on the side of the flash when I try to open it they have all my images in the library. BUT THAT'S IT. Original Flash with all my hundreds of keyframes just GONE. Idk what to do. When I pressed save and compress it also saved a .swf of my file. But that might have been from me trying to fix it.
I hope one of you guys can help me with my problem because I really REALLY wish there is a way to get my flash back up and running. I MISS IT :'(

Im new to Flash and have come across some problems while working with it ...any help would be greatly appreciated...
In the new Flash file, create an animation on the main Timeline. Add an action to prevent it from playing past the first frame. Create a button symbol that looks depressed when clicked on. Assign an action to the button to make the movie play.
*Ive made an animation and also made a rollover button but im having problems with adding a function and where to add it so that it plays and stops according to the pushing of the button.

Do I Have To Buy Macromedia FLash To Use Swish

I am very very very New to This Flash Thing.....I also Own Both Versions, which to tell you the truth, Ver 1.0 is easier than 2.0.
But anyway, what I am needing to know is:
#1 Do I have to purchase Macromedia Flash Program in order to Use Swish? I thought Swish was a Stand alone Flash Program, and alot Easier than Macromedia Flash....
#2 I downloaded the tutorials from Swish site, but they dont show what settings are, or anything.....in order for us Beginner Newbies to Make different Looks, etc. of these Tutorials.
#3 Isn't there a better Manual of some kind that one can purchase to show what certian X Y's are and what settings do what??
#4 I sit for hours on end trying to Learn this and to no avail, have I accomplished anything, because Programs Now days.....DO NOT SHOW ALL IMPORTANT STUFF, only certain Basics, not the Major things one needs to know.....
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I know that Much!!!!

to anyone on this board who has very good understanding of Macromedia Flash.
here's the scenario of what i'm trying to do.
i'm building a maths tutorial in flash and the aim of the tutorial is to teach them how to do ALGEBRA.
Well anyway, the main bit which i need help on is the questions. i'm including interactive questions so that a user can try out.
what i'm thinking about doing is laying out questions where it is multiple choice, e.g.
if 15 = 3x + 3 what is x
a. x = 4
b. x = 1
c. x =-4
and then the user can choose from a multiple choices, and if the user gets it right then it will say "correct" or if its wrong it'll say "wrong".
does anyone know how to do this?
and the other method which i'm thinking of doing the questions would be something where the user needs to input the answer, e.g.

x = [ ]
then the user will have to enter the answer in the box, and if it is right it will say "correct" and so on.
So does anyone know any websites or think they can help me with this problem? any help or advice would be appreciated.

Launching Macromedia Flash
This is bound to sound like a stupid question, but it's driving me out of my mind. I've been online for hours trying to get just one piece of helpful information that I could start the program with, but I've found nothing so far, on either this site or macromedia itself. The chance remains that I overlooked something obvious, but I hope somebody will help anyhow. I downloaded both a trial of Macromedia MX and Macromedia Flash, and got to the movie confirming an instillation. I'm trying to make a dress up game in flash. However, I can see no icon on my desktop, nor a shortcut, nor a Macromedia category in the programs menu. I have NO idea how to launch this blasted thing, my e-mail from Macromedia only says after launching, much like the tutorials I've read. I also searched my drives for anything with Macromedia. No results. I set my internet security level to Low. What should I do to get into the program?

I don't even have Flash yet but I'm planning on getting it in a couple of months. I have a question though.
It's not now outdated or anything with the release of Flash8 is it? I wouldn't think so, but, I just want some definite reassurance.
You see, I want to be able to make really nice animations and games. So, I want to make sure that I'm getting a good version of Flash.

Indexing Flash Using Macromedia SDK
Hi was reading up on information regarding indexing flash. I found out that macromedia has developed something to enable flash to be index using SDK.
Does anyone know how to install it on. I've tried to extract the content from my .swf and it works. It gave me and html output, but I don't think thats what I'm suppose to do.
I want to know how to install it for actual use.

Are There Different FLA Editors Than Macromedia Flash?
Hi everyone,
I am doing more and more programming in ActionScript and I find that the GUI we have to enter ActionScript in Macromedia Flash (MX) is limited. Are there other programs we can use to edit FLA's (other than upgrading to ActionScript 2.0), or is this what we are stuck with?
