Background Colors
I am creating a site that uses flash through most of it.
it's got a splash screen created in dreamweaver, then
the rest of it's one big movie inserted onto a dreamweaver
page. I set the background to match my flash background so
it looks pretty seamless so far.

problem is what if I want to have different backgrounds but
wish to remain in the same flash movie?
is there a way I can tell flash to change the background
of the html page? I thought of setting the page size in flash
to some ungodly size. there must be a more eloquent way.

Background Colors When Using LoadMovie
I have two movies - one with a blue background and one with a white background.
My HTML file calls up the swf with the blue background.
When I use a
on(release){
loadMovie("whitebackground.swf",0)
}
it brings in the new movie to replace the old movie - but the background remains blue!
What am I doing wrong, folks?

Different Background Colors For Different Frames/layers
I was making this clip, and I thought it would be cool to have a guy announce the story on a white background, then switch to a blue background where the title is displayed. So I first tried it on the same layer, made the animation for the guy entering the screen and talking and I inserted another keyframe where I tried to change the stage to blue. It changed the stage alright, but it did so for all the other frames too
Having figured out this does not work, I thought 'maybe on another layer' of course it will stay blue the entire course but I tried anyway.

My question comes down to this: Is it possible to change the color of the background without having to draw a big square on another layer and fill it up with a color?

Can Different Scenes Of A SWF Movie Have Different Colors For The Background?
Hello!

I'm working on a Flash site for which I want to have different background colors for different Scenes (i.e., first scene's background is blue, second scene's is purple, etc.).

Can this be done? Or do I absolutely have to create different Movies for each Scene that requires a different color?

Flash Background Colors Not Matching HTML
I want you to look at something if you have a chance.

The top navigation consists of six flash movies with expanding tables between. Do you see a color shift between the movies and the background? My client is the only one that sees this so far and I'm wondering if anyone else does. So, how to remedy?

The Flash movies are set to have a background that is the same hex color as the .gifs. The .gifs that make up the background are adaptive. Should they be selective? Any advice appreciated.

[F8] Full Screen Changing Background Colors
Hello,

I want my file to stay the same size (800x600) but I want the background color to bleed 100% full screen. However, I want the background color to switch colors (with a fade transition) depending on the timeline (ie, frame 1 is black, frame 200 = white, frame 250 = blue). How do I go about doing this?

Background And Layer Outline Colors Problem
I have a problem trying to reset my work area - I don't know what I did, but all layers show in red only. If I click the outline toggle on the layers panel, it does not switch colors. If I change the background color of the work area, I can't see it, nor can I see the different colors of the symbols - they all show in red. The plug-in shows the colors properly when I run it. I am assuming it is using the outline color whether I am in outline mode or not. I could not find a menu item to turn it off.

Reading Colors Of An Image
When we read color from getPixel method from an image then it returns color value which I then convert it into hexadecimal value. And, when I import the same image on stage and get the color code of that color using eyedropper tool of flash . then the RGB value of getpixel and RGB value of Eyedropper tool is different by number 1.

Why is it happening?

Please respond ASAP.

Export Image From Flash To .ai Or .eps And Keep Transparent Colors.
Is there a way to, when I have finished this wonderful drawing in Flash with transparent colors, to keep them when I export them from Flash to Illustrator as an .ai or .eps?
I'd like my images to be scalable and rezizable (to be able to be really BIG) when I deliver them.

How To Define Colors In A Vector Image Via An External File
Alright....

Thaat was a mouthful!
But this is what I am trying to do.

Say I have an image. We'll call it "vectorman". It is a liner gardient in flash that has say "f5f5f5" as the top color and a gradient down to "ff9900". I then turn "vectorman" into a graphic, then into a movie. Now he sits on the main stage with the same colors all the time... poor vectorman. I would like the ability to control those 2 colors of vectorman via an XML file. Is that possible?

I know XML can control css and dynamic text fields, but how do I control the color of an graphic?

This is brand spanking new to me. So any leads or help would be awesome!

Flash Colors Vs. HTML Colors
I'm having a issue with the colors on a client site we created matching up. I think this is a pretty unique problem. Here is the url: URL I created the flash to appear as if it was under the swoosh, but to give the masking effect of the images are appearing from under the swoosh I had to include part of the swoosh in my flash movie. By doing that I have a color issuse on monitors using 16 bit color. My boss is getting on my case to try and find an answer for this problem and he is the type that doesn't take no for an answer. He wants it fixed and that's the way it is! If anyone could ge me an advice that would be greatly appreciated!

The problem occures when the user clicks to another scene - the background changes to the first background in the MC. Using An Image As A Background
Dear All,

I want to use an image as a background to my movie, however, when I publish the movie at 100% x 100% there seems to be a border around the image which is the default background colour of the movie. How do I get the image to completly fill the browser screen without showing this border?

I have tried to select the no border command in the publish settings as well but still no joy.

Background On Image
I've made a couple of images in Paint Shop Pro. I imported both images into Flash MX. I converted both to symbols. One of the images I imported is a transparent GIF but it has put a white background into that image now.

How can I get it so there is no white background? I need just the image to be shown in the animation I'm going to create.

How Do I Cut This Image From The Background?
I know, I know.. this is probably the stupidist question you've ever read... lucky me. Just getting into this web stuff and this has stumped me. I have made an image but when I crop it from the background it only crops as a square box so the rounded part at the bottom still shows the background. I have been using Fireworks but I do have Photoshop 7 too. Whats the trick on croping images like this?
One other question is what is the best way to make corners on boxes in fireworks? The only way I could figure it out was to make a square then attach half a circle on the bottom of it. Any help would be great.

I made a backround image in photoshop, and saved it as a jpeg. I imported it to flash, then sized it and made it my background. The problem is this- Why can't a make a button over the background image I imported? I can add other layers over it and everything else will work but whenever I try to put a button over it, the button will work in fla format, but will not work when I test it in swf format. Can you only make backgrounds in the flash program and not import pics to use? I'm using the whole image I made as the background, so the button I try to make is on top of it. It's driving me nuts, I don't know how to corrct this.

I'm designing a webpage and have produced a background image and a few simple buttons so far. I decided I did'nt like the background image and so selected it by clicking on it within FLASH and deleted it. I then IMPORTED a new image and tested the whole scene again but found none of the buttons now worked. Thery were still there coz I could select them and move them around but they just did not respond at all when I tested the scene. Surely deleting one element of a FLASH document does'nt delete all the button's actions etc??

What I have been doing is, if I want a gradient, picture, what ever, I just make a background image in a layer.
In the color mixer, there is an option to make the fill a bmp. Is there a way to make a bmp the background with out using a layer? I have made a texture background in PS, and want to use that.If I make the size say 1024x768, then people with higher resolutions will see the edges. I want it to stretch the whole way reguardless of what res ppl have.

How Is This Background Image Placed?
In researching some great Flash based sites, I started to wonder if the bitmapData class can be used to place a background image similar to how a background image is placed using CSS.

Take a look at the Letters for Iwo Jima website, which is pretty smooth by the way:

If so, how was the background image placed? (assuming the width of the top nav menu is the full width of the stage)

Second, on the About The Film page, the text block stretches down vertically, again past what I would assume would be the stage. Was that created in Flash as well?

I can't seem to think outside the box (stage), as it were. I'd appreciate ANY insight on this!

Is A Background Image Possible ?
I have my Flash movie nestled sweetly inside some gradient images on my html page.....

All is fine apart from a split second flash of white that happens on loading. I've tracked this white flash down to the main movie background colour.....

Is there anyway of using a background image instead of colour ?? or does anyone have any other suggestions for elliminating this problem ??

Hello,

How would I use a GIF as my flash banner's background and make it stay the background for every frame? I tried dragging and dropping but the background only last for the first frame.

I have an image that i altered in photoshop that is generally shaped like an oval. When i import it into flash the oval is still there, but also a white backround, making it a square. Is there any way to make this white disappear and have only my oval on the stage?
