Image Outline Effect
I'm trying to get the outline effect for the image that I trimmed in Flash MX. I hit the outline view on the layer and the image was outlined, but I need to know how to keep just the outline? I believe I need to convert the outline one way or the other, but I can't grasp it now...I tried to copy the outline, then convert it to a shape to no avail. Any directions would be appreciated...keep flashing...Flash is serious...

Moving Clouds/Object Outline Effect/Buttons Effect - Please Help Me Help My Friend
I've neglected flash for years, mainly because it seems extremely confusing. I've tried to get into it, but it's confusing with 50 different objects in the flash project going on at once, how do you work with all that?

Anyway, I'm doing a website for a friend of mine, and I had this really cool idea that I've seen around and would like to add on to this and give him a nice surprise.

Basically I would like to add a moving clouds loop in the background, similar to this: http://www.templatemonster.com/websi...ates/9630.html

(actually I'd be fine with any button effect )

And I'd be happy with just the cloud effect lol. I looked around for tutorials but none of them seem to be what I'm looking for.

I would like the clouds to blend in with the blue background gradient, but I don't know how to do this, in Photoshop it's Overlay. I've tried Alpha in flash, but all that does is change the opacity.

I'm not sure where to start, I doubt I could get this in for him in time, but it'd be great. (Sunday is when the site goes live ) Thanks for helping!

How Do I Change The TextArea Component OnFocus Green Outline Effect? I Can See The Same Effect On This Text Input Box
Hi All,

I have a textArea. When I click on the tab key, the focus shifts to the textArea. And along with this a green outline comes around the textArea. How can I avoid the textArea outline color? IS there any way I can modify this?

I had once modified the checkBox component styles by editing a swf. Later I loaded this swf to the flash library. Can i do it something like that?
Will I have to use some AS code for this?

Running Outline Effect ... Help Please

I am new here (as you can see)...I was wondering if someone can direct me to a way (site, tutorial..etc)of making a line to trace along the outline of an interface. Almost like a glare. Simple stuff I thought..though I cant seem to find anything.
I already have the lines..just need the action. I also have swift and swish aside in case one is easier than another.

How To Do The MX Trial Person Outline Effect?
I was wondering if anyone could give me the best option and method to do a similar effect as the MX Trial advert on the front page of Flashkit -- with the white outline of people.

I have seen this in a lot of places, but never have found a simple way to do it.

It looks like a traced bitmap, then given an outline, then the "contents" removed.

Any advice would be grand.

Also in that example, they have a neat little text effect, how would you do that?? I imagine it is not that much different than the text effect. Is there a name for that kind of effect???

Look at http://www.voxunity.com/adcons/en/. There is this white thing that goes along the dotted lines, lady etc with a smooth trailing effect. Does anyone know how to do this?

I can't seem to find a tutorial on it. Someone please help.

ok so ive very rarely used flash but i really need to do this project...so what i have is a side image of a face...just a one demensional flat image of a white face. what i want to do is create a shining line that moves down the the outline of the face and then gives one big flash when it gets to the bottom. is there anyone who knows how to do that?

Effect Of Outline Drawn Around Bitmap Object
I'm wondering if anyone can give me any input on how to create the effect of an outline being drawn dynamically around a bitmap object. Does this involve a mask, actionscript? It's a fairly common effect on car web sites now...Ford has used it a lot. An outline draws around the edges of a car image when the interface loads.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

im using the drawing API to plot the co-ordinates to get the outline of the image, but i cant seem to animate it to get the illusion that it is drawing.

What i need is exactly like http://www.voxunity.com/adcons/en/ . The white thing has to be able to move along any irregular shape outline smoothly with the trailing effect(example moving around the outline of the shape of head).

I can't seem to find a tutorial on it. Someone please help.

Laser Trace An Image Outline?
I am looking for a way to simulate a laser tracing my logo, or just a dot tracing it. I want to start with just a flat color background, and have three lasers (or dots) trace the three sections of the logo, and leave an outline behind. Is there a way to do this?

Import Image With Vector Outline + Type?
I made this website right before last summer and now I found this site, so now I plan on fixing some problems.

The problem is I had a photo I touched up in photoshop and imported it into Flash. The outline was really weak so I wanted the vector outline that I made with the pen tool in photoshop. I was able to import it into Flash but the sizing was messed up and when I tried to line it up I never got it perfect. I also used Illustrator, and I am really not sure what the best way to bring in vector files to Flash is. How can I bring both images, the vector, and pixel, together in Flash so they line up prefectly?

The other question is simple
What is the best way to import images?
I resize them to the size they are going to be in Flash, and I save them as high quality files. Is the best format to do this in .bmp or is there something else I should be using?

what should I use for images with transparencys?
I heard to save them as .png files in photoshop, in the save for web option and just high quality. Is this the best way?

Another question is actually about Dreamweaver if any one can help. I know almost nothing about this program, and when I preview my file it tries to connect to my server, it can't, then it won't show the preview.

Image Effects - Outline / Masking / Fading Etc
Hi all, I am working to change my site to flash from html. But I am changing everything. I have had flash mx 2004 for a while now although I haven't done anything major with it, just messing about, I am looking to do so now and have plenty of time to do this until I get the right site. OK - I have made a design of my site on Photoshop , just to get a rough idea of what I would want it to look like- looks good, but I haven't done anything else. This site is a fashion site, therefore I am looking to have 3 pictures of models on the home page, and a header with the navigation.
But the pictures need to show one by one, if that makes sence, e.g as if a someone is drawing something then the first picture appears then the next, second and third [just once], alternatively to appear using a fading effect or something interesting, I think just having 3 pictures doing nothing on the homepage is boring. Please take a look at these 3 examples, I am not biased on what to do with the pictures as long as it is exciting or right.
Sorry for rambling - Note* I am not in a rush or looking for a quick solution.

Sparkle Image Effect And Button Sound Effect
Im trying to figure out how to make sparkle effects to images. Im new to this let me say first off but im not new to web design and htmls.
I also wanna know the button sound effect code. On 50 cent.com everytime you move over a link there is a gun cocking sound and then when you click the link it makes a gun shot noise. How was this achieved?

when you rollover the buttons that say: eyeblaster ACM v2.0, advanced analytics, etc. the nice artistic banner appears. when you are no longer over it, it still stays to that same banner until you rollover the other buttons. so it's like a swap image effect, only in flash.

I need a slideshow where the transition is a star shape appearing from the middle of the movie and zooming revealing the image in the background. i know it should be done using masking and i want it to be adjusted by user so timeline wont do.

I am trying to create an image effect. I wanted to devide my image into many different boxes (please check design below to see). The image displayed should change from one to another. However the change should not be done strait forward, but box by box.

Ok so basically im trying to create a hit effect after a thumbnail has been clicked or shown.
My thumbnails are located here:

_level0.mc_main.menu_tot.menu.pic13

with pic13 being the thumbnail. Doing this works fine:

_level0.mc_main.menu_tot.menu.pic13._alpha = 50;

but doing this doesnt work:

var increase = pic13;
_level0.mc_main.menu_tot.menu.increase._alpha = 50;

why doesnt it work? Is there a way around this?
