Imported Video Distortion
I rendered an avi in 3d studio. And now i'm trying to import it in flash. I haven't had any problems with this before but now i do have problems. The video seems slanted to the right and only black and white. Here is the SWF http://www.kreativdesigns.com/tabletest.swf be aware it is something like 500k so just wait for it, i didn't take the time to make a loader for it.

Imported Video Getting Distorted
Hello Everybody

I have a problem,when i import a video clip (mpeg format) into flash mx, and play the same while testing the movie, i find that the whole video get distorted. How do i solve this problem as the clarity of the video is lost. I tried importing the same in the avi format, the end result was same. Pls help

Audio From Imported Video
I have imported an embedded video into my flash movie. When I play it in flash I cannot hear the audio(of the video). If I export the file to a swf I can hear the audio fine. Shouldn't I be able to hear the video's audio track in flash while I develop the flash movie? Any ideas why I can't? Thank you.

[CS3] Control Imported Flv Video
Hello,

I have imported a flv video to my main timeline using the Progressive download method (not embedded) because the video is quite large. It only takes up one keyframe and I put a stop(); on that keyframe. I would like to know what codes that I have to put so that it will go back to the beginning of the main timeline after the video is completed. Right now it just stops where it is after playing.

Imported Video Management
I am about to try a project and i'm waiting on some photographs, and possibly some short videos to use in the background, interface and menu design. I've imported mpegs into flash MX before, and they just span the timeline for about 2000 frames, i was wondering if:

a) there is a more manageable way to import them and deal with them on the stage

b) and a better file type.

c) also if its going to make a massive file, even with preloading will it be worth waiting for?

any help would be great or if u think i'd get a better response from a different section of the forums, please let me know.

Imported Video Only Plays Using Certain URL
I imported an avi file into a flash file and published it to my internal server web site. If I open the test html file from the server over a mapped drive or directly while logged onto the server, it plays just fine. If I try to play it from the server using the web page's URL, it just shows me an empty page except for the recognition there is a flash object there.

Other flash objects play just fine - it's just this one.

Imported Video Upside Down
Tyring to encode mpg files as FLVs. When I import the mpgs, they are upside down. Same problem with Flash CS3 and Flash Encoder. The mpgs play fine in Windows Media Player and can be converted by Windows Media Encoder without problem. Any ideas? The files were created using Pinnacle Studio.

Imported Video Off-color?
I'm doing something in flash that requires me to import video, and when I import a .mov file with a white background, it appears in flash as more of an off white, but that won't work because it goes on to white and is really easy to spot the error. Is there anything in the Flash import settings that could help me here?

Imported Compiled Video
Actionscripting isnt easy, for me.

Hello, I've got a little problem. I've imported a videoclip into flash, by file > import > import video. Created the video as a progressive video, a self contained movieclip.

At the flash work area: I have a picture, which is a button, and goes to frame 10 with: on(release) { gotoAndStop(10); }. The videoclip is on frame nr 10, It plays, great, no problem. Until its finished. Then just a black frame appears. I want it to go back to frame nr 1, where the picture/button is. Any suggestions?

gotoAndStop(1); on frame nr 10 doesnt work. Then it just skips the flash movie when clicking on the button. I am using Macromedia Flash Professional 8.

Imported Video - Frame Rate
i am trying to use a video clip as a background layer. i have imported it and it works fine, but it looks more effective with the frame rate slowed down to 3 fps. however, if i do this, the rest of the elements on other layers also slow down to 3 fps. is there any way i can slow the video down to 3 fps but not the rest of the movie?

Altering Imported Video Files
I have an ebedded video in my Flash MX 6.0 movie. Unfortunately, it contains extremely loud noise (it's a clip from a NASCAR race), so I only want the video, not the audio. Is there any way to strip such a video of its sound? I was imported from .mpg, if that helps.

I don't care if there's a proper way to do it or simply a quick'n'dirty fix; either way works for me.

I then made it much smaller in size and published it..it came out 26MB!!!

Playing An Imported Video Backwards
Hi guys,

I know several topics similar to this one has been posted in the past, I've looked through the previous posts, but none of them have been of much help.

I'm doing a project which has a big tree. I have a video in which the camera moves up the tree when the user rolls over the top of the screen. I also want it to move back down when the user rolls over the bottom. kind of simlilar to semillero (http://www.semillero.net).

I have several videos of the tree moving up, and I want to reverse the videos using actionscript in Flash to to acheive the "moving down" effect.

[MX04] Imported Video Problems
Hi!
I have a minor Flash-related problem which I hope someone here can help me with.
For the record, I have Flash MX 2004. I'm working on a .wmv video in Flash because I wanted to mask some repeated movement.

I had no problems importing the video into flash, however there is one thing I can't figure out. Why can't I edit my video frame by frame? If I draw over one of the frame then it affects all of them. So, I thought I could stop the problem by making keyframes. However, it seems that every time I make a keyframe the content is simply a copy of the first frame.

I would be very glad if someone could help, as I can't complete my video before I can edit the imported video frame-by-frame. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Newbie Question About Imported Video
Hi,

I am trying to embed a movie into the timeline. I want it to play once and then have the page redirect to another page afterward (I am trying to create a splash screen). I don't want the movie player which is why I have chosen to embed it.

I can import the movie and embed it fine but it just loops forever and I can't seem to get it to redirect.

Can anyone help with this one?

Looping An Imported Video, Easiest Way Is?
I've just imported a video into my Flash project, and it's too short. I need it to continuously play. I've been looking through the Help file, and I found this under the Publishing Quicktime files section:

"Select one of the following Playback options to control how QuickTime plays a video:
Looping repeats the video when it reaches the last frame. "

I can't find these Playback options.

Any help?

Sound Not Playing On Imported Video

Having Problem With Imported Video In FLASH
Hello,

This is the situation. I am cutting some effects in adobe premier and exported them out as a quicktime movie (Size 350kbs, quality =high). When I play the movie within quicktime player, the quality of the movie is very crisp and sharp, but when this movie is imported into FLASH, movie gets pixilated and the quality suffers as well. I have tried different formats and am unable to get good video quality after the movie is imported into FLASH.

Appreciate any help I can get.

Why Doesnt Embedded Video Work When SWF Imported?
Hi guys, im hoping you can help shed some light on this problem.
Basically I have a SWF file which i have made and want to import into my current falsh movie and use it as a rolling animation in to background.
My problem is that the SWF file has embedded vdeo which works fine before import, but when imported and put on the timeline, no longer works!!

Flash Video - Imported .avi Is Blurry With Red Text
Hi all,

Im importing .avis into my Flash file, and its coming up with some strange results. Ive tried Flash MX and Flash 2004 with same problem.

I did a video in Camtasia, which is essentially the same as Captivate (was called Robodemo) makes a movie from capturing wats happening on the screen, then can export to .avi

But when I import these .avi's into Flash, they look fine except for the red text. Which is all blurry or a faded crimson colour, instead of red.

I have done a screen capture of the .avi playing in Flash, so you can see the blurryness and faded red.

When I import video it automatically comes up with the Sorenson Spark player, but are there any 3rd party players I can download/purchase which will handle video betta in Flash?
I really need these .avi's to look as good in the Flash player as they do in windows media player or quicktime.

Make Imported Video Stop Looping
I've embedded a short video clip into my movie in a scene of its own. How do I get it to not loop but to move on to the next scene? I've tried gotoAndPlay putting in the scene and frame variables. I've tried gotoAndStop. Either the movie completely stops and you're looking at a blank screen, or it moves to the next scene but stays on the first frame.

I even tried adding some extra animation after the video in the same scene, but all that happens is that the video plays and moves on to the ending animation in the scene, but once the scene ends, it loops back to that video. For those who advise against using scenes, I have to say that I must. Keeping track of where I am in the movie is a nightmare for me without breaking it up into pieces that are manageable. Apart from this one issue, scenes aren't giving me a problem.

I've tried looking for a tutorial but the only ones I can find discuss using embedded clips with control buttons (play, stop, rewind). I just want the video to play and then move on on it's own.

[urgent] .MOV File Imported, But No Video Just Sound...
Hi i've been importing some .mov files in flash and they work fine accept for 2 black sheeps. When imported the screen of the video is just white, and the only thing that actually works is the sound of the video clip.

Bit rate: 512 Kbps
Display 320x240
Frames: 25
Audio track: integrated

When, I’ve imported into stage the sound has disappeared.
FlashMX 2004 version 7.0.1
My O/S is Win XP SP2

I don't understand if there is a fix for that. Outside flash, the videos work fime.

Imported Video Loses White Color
Hi,
I have a video with a pure white background (255,255,255). In fact my test video is just a white screen for 10 seconds.
No matter what format I import it into flash in, when it is in flash the white has gone ever so slightly grey. Usually 254,254,254.

this is causing me real problems.
How do I make the white stay white?

How To Stop/Edit Imported Video - Newbie
Hi there. I'm working with imported video files for the first time so please bear with me as I'm sure the solution is very simple.

I have a 20 second flv video file of clouds floating across the sky that I've purchased from a stock library and wish to use it as a backdrop in a flash swf file so that I can overlay other graphics at various frames throughout the timeline.
The video has been imported to the library as an embedded video and has automatically created a movie clip of it. I've managed to create other movie clips of timed animated elements, and then in Scene 1 I simply have 1 frame with a number of layers that contain each movieclip.
I have two minor problems now though. The first is that when I export the swf file, the movieclip of the sky continually loops when I need it to only play once. I've tried placing a stop() action in the last frame of the sky movieclip, but it doesn't seem to affect it. What am I doing wrong?
The second thing is that I would like to crop a few seconds off the start of the sky movieclip. I've tried removing frames from the beginning, but it simply plays the movieclip from the beginning and makes the mc shorter.

I would be grateful for any assistance
