Flash :: Importing A Movie From A Camera To A PC

Papervision3d - Importing Camera + Lights
hi everyone,

still fairly new to PV3d and after looking into all the great samples and tutorials, it was pretty straight forward to setup a PV3d template class and get a working 3D object in the engine exported from Maya.

my question is when exporting the collada file (.dae) from Maya or any other package, having a scene already setup, Camera + lights, all the data is being exported in the .dae.

loading the 3D object from collada works great, but is there any way to use the camera and light data from the dae file?

how can i have the exact same scene setup I had in maya, replicated in PV3D?

noticed that in the dae file there's a <matrix> tag for the camera, is there any use of that yet?

Detecting A Digital Camera And Importing Photos

Is there anyway that you can build a flash application that would detect a digital camera and would then allow you to import photos into the application itself

Change Camera On A Mac From Isight To A Mini Dv Camera
I don't have the mini dv camera listed as one of the options on the video settings of the flash player however I am able to access the Mini dv camera using quicktime (in other words the computer can see the camera but flash can't)
My Mini dv camera is connected through a usb cable so I tried to disable the isight camera since it might be causing conflict with the Mini dv camera (the isight is built in but connected via USB, weird but true).

Anyway, does anybody has any ideas?

ive seen it on a few flash movies..the effect is where say you look around a room.....how do you draw all that????....or...what method do you do to vrete a scene that looks like that

Flash 8 Camera Movie Clip
i have a camera movie clip, which helps moving around the stage in scenes, and scrolling backgrounds a lot easier and simpler, as instead od moving the symbols, you just move the camera, and whatever is inside the movie clip is what is shown in the .swf.

THe only problem is the one i have is not compatible with Flash 8.

Does anyone know of an updated version?

Image Jump In Movie From Behind The Camera Effect

I have just start using flash and have created with some help from here (thanks) my first flash movie.
just a few jpgs moving around the screen but hey thats where it starts!

I would like to learn how an image flies in, in effect from behind the camera, and then fly out in reverse, (i know that doing the first i just repeat the motions in reverse, but it is doing the first that i can not seem to find on the net, been looking for a few hours now and again i do not know what command to search for.

i have looked at the help pages and it does not seem to work properly for some reason, i shall reinstall later today.

can someone please either tell me how i start this or at least what the command is so i can start it myself by trial and error.

ok, what i want to do is --

I have 2 mcs, say mc1 and mc2.

my question, i want to make some part of mc1 on top of mc2 while left part below it, which is really possible in reality. but so far i did not figure out any ways to do this.

i don't want to use things like mask, because both mc1 and mc2 will be in scripted dynamic motion. the exact part of mc1 below mc2 will totally depends on users' mouse.

Actually, i am trying to create a kind of effect just like camera shutter. if you notice you'll find those slices are just on top of one another.

i'm writing my php scripts to read info out of my DB that contains all the data for a web forum.
what i want to do in flash is, have my main time line call the scripts and get the forum text back, then get it to start importing .swf files to display each entry.

can these imported files be placed inside a scroll box and made scrollable? so if a forum has 9 threads, the main time line will create 9 instances of the imported swf file, place them inside a scroll pane,, and the user can scroll them. And if a thread has 5 replies, it will create 5 instances of a new .swf file in order to the show the data, and also put them inside a scroll pane.

Can this be done? If so, is the actionscript going to be hard? (im just starting actionscripting - but i do develop in C++ )

I'm extremely new to flash and am looking for some advice.

I have a mpeg 2 video that I want to publish on my site and I'm having a few
problems. I'm using MX to start with and I wonder what is the best way to
import this into flash i.e. what are the best settings to gain good quality.
I also want to have stop start buttons on this clip and can't see how or
where I can add these. When I do manage to get it exported into DW it plays
ok but some of the movie is missing until I go back into DW and change the
'w' & 'h' settings so again I'm not sure what is the way to go here. If
there is a tutorial that somebody can link me to that would be great or if
anybody can give me a few pointers as to how to set up a basic Flash video
with control buttons I'd be most grateful

I am a complete beginner with Flash and have just created a simple movie which I want to insert into a layer into dreamweaver. I have published the movie and exported it but when I try and insert it into Dreamweaver it doesn't work. Importing Then Aligning The Movie?
Ok, I made a small movie that I want to import onto another movie I made. When I import it, the imported movie shows up way below the movie I want to import it on. Is there anyway I can align the movie to the imported objects? I have spent hours and hours trying to align the imported stuff myself, but with all the frames and whatnot it always comes out out of alignment and messes my movie up. Please help.

Importing Movie From Swift 3d
Hello

Background first;

I have created a animation in Swift3d (80 frames total). I then export the animation to a "Swift 3d Flash Importer (.swft) file and import that file into Flash MX. The animation always imports into the upper left hand side of the scene. When I move the animation to the middle only a single frame is affected.

The Problem is;

How do I move the position of the animation in all frames without having to manual move each frame individually?

Importing A Sound Movie...
I am currently developing a flash site and I have come across a milestone in my creation, I decided that I wanted to add sound and despite all efforts I have not been able to do so.

Basically what I want is my main movie to load a smaller sound movie into main site once it has been preloaded. This smaller movie file contains the music itself and the controls to manipulated it with, but so far I have not been able to get the second .fla movie into the first without it taking up the whole stage area.

Any help would be appreciated.

i need to import differant images to a movie. at the moment i am putting the images to seperate movies and then the main movie calls the movies from buttons.

i was just wondering weather you could import the .png files direct to flash using action script on the button instead.

Hi,

I wonder if any of you wonderful people out there can help me.

I have created a flash movie which I intend to package as a standalone projector, the problem is that there is a movie clip from another movie I created which would be perfect for use in my new movie.

If I export the old movie clip into the library of my new movie, will it still work? Do i need to import any graphics or sound contained in the movie clip into the library or just the movie clip itself?

How would I import a flash movie into another one? Every time I try to import to library the movie that is being imported just turns out as a graphic. How do I change this so that it actually plays? Thanks!!

Problem Importing Movie Into MX
I am trying to import a movie into MX and it is giving me some serious problems. The whole movie is a little over 28 minutes. Here is the problem that I am having when I am trying to import it:

I can pull up the import window and change whatever settings I want. Then I hit the finish button to begin the import process. It then pulls up the importing bar that shows the progress and continues to run to completion. However instead of having the movie available inside the flash document when done it again loads up the import window again. Essentially it is a never ending loop that ends with the import window being loaded up again everytime and the movie never making it into the document.

I have tried changing the import settings to no avail. Also have tried importing it in various size clips(ranging from 5 minutes to the full 28) and using different codecs(both .avi and .mov).

I have been able to import other movies using the same process that I am trying to use for this one so I don't think it is the computer.

I would appreciate any help if someone knows a way that I can get this movie loaded into flash.

I created a movie clip, where the background was set to 30 frames per sec. I want to import this MC into a 24 fps movie...but my animation slows down! is there a way to keep the 30fps animation's frame rate while I import it? Thanks guys!!!

Problem Importing Swf Into Another Movie
here's what I have. A flash piece made with multiple different scenes. In one of these scenes, I have videos that are on a different swf file imported into the current scene. The problem is, when I go to a different scene in my movie, the imported swf file stays on the screen? How do I prevent this from happening?

So, if my friend drew a picture on Adobe Photoshop and then animated it using HTML or something, would I be able to import that as a movieclip into a .fla? Does he have to use a different program? What should he save it as? Do I need to import it in a special way? Are there any problems which might arise which I should be aware of? Will I be able to resize the imported movie clip? Thank you.

Importing Sound To A Movie
I'm pretty new to using flash, so have tried to import a sound using the help files. The sound is a voiceover and together with the flash movie shoulf make a telly advert. However when the sound is imported, a few seconds seem to have been added onto the voiceover - slowly the speech of the voiceover. Any ideas how to sort this as the voiceover doesn't sound quite right and makes the ad run slightly too long.

Please help because have big deadline for this for work.

Form used: PHP Flash Email Form (very simple)

I have modified the form to suit my colors/styles and have rebublished. I've also modified the php file to reflect my email address and preferences.

How, oh how, do I import the form (and its associated layers) into the existing movie (.fla) so that it doesn't make the existing movie huge and also so it appears in my timeline when I want it to (and stays there).

This is very basic, I know... and I'm clearly missing some of the fundamentals in Flash design/creation.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The QT movie file format is
AAC, Stereo (L R), 44,100 kHz, H.264 Decoder, 320 x 240, FPS: 29.97, Duration: 00:00:52:41, Data Size: 9.59MB

should it be different format?

Importing Flash Movie
First off...I am just learning Flash so please don't rip me a new one for not knowing this but I am trying to import the Flash Movie from the "Loading Text from External Sources" tutorial in Flash MX. It will come up but I cant seem to get it to link to the text pages (ie. text1.txt, text2.txt, etc.). I have them in the same folder but it doesnt work. Maybe I am exporting wrong. Please help.

Hi all.

I been using Flash for quite sometimes now, mainly for basic stuff. The other day i wanted to convert my AVI movie to Flash. Well to say that I forgot how to do it.

As I remember:

Open Flash
File Import, then after importing the avi...
The movie shows up on the timeline with one dot or one frame.
I then select 100 frames and insert Key Frames? I think that is how i use to do it.

I search on google about importing movie into Flash but i'm not getting any good results.

Anyone can help me out there?

I have a .mov movie that I have imported into Flash MX and it is 8mb. When I import the movie into Flash and then export it,
it's still way too big weighnig in at 6.3mb.

Is there a way of making the .swf any smaller at all??

Importing A Movie Clip
Ok, I seem to have run into yet another problem. I made me a text scroller in Flash MX, and I want to import it into another project I have going. How do I import a movie clip into another project? The only thing I can think of is to save the text scroller, and input the .swf, but then for some reason, all I get is the image, not all the affects that go with it. Any ideas on how to take everything associated with one movie clip and transfer it to a whole new project?

Hello all, i'm having trouble being able to lock onto the information inside the external.swf file which is being brought in through a movie clip in the main.swf file.

This is in reference to actionscript. If I try to use _root.movieholder, all I seem to get is the main file.

So that is my question, what is the syntax for getting to the external.swf from the main.swf when it is being brought in through a movie clip?
