Hi,
my flash skills aren't too good and i was wondering if i could get sone help on this.
i was wondering how to insert a 50 frame movie in flash into a scene.
so therefore i have scene one playing, and when it gets to a certain frame it plays the movie.

everytime I want to insert a movie into the main scene, it doens't work. But if i duplicate it into a graphic and then insert in, it does work? Is this supposed to happen?

ScrollBar Asset - Inserting Two Scrollbars In One Scene?
Hey guys, I downloaded the ScrollBar asset and I'm able to get it working no problem. However when I try to implement more than one ScrollBar into a scene I run into problems. Basically one will work, the other one won't.
How can I properly implement two of these assets into one scene?

I have some moderate experience with Flash, no real action scripting but more of just the basics. I'm trying to figure out how to create something like this:

Where a movie is embedded into the Flash movie and controlled by a playbar and sidebar. If anyone could point me to a tutorial or give me some advice on how to approach this I would appreciate it.

ive made an swf/fa file and want to insert it into another movie, but when i do it seems to lose all it's actions etc. i did it by inserting it into the librry as its the only way i could think of, anyone help?
Inserting Outside Movie
Hey guys, this one should be an easy one to solve:
I've got an external swf file which I've created to be a component of a larger whole. I've already exported this swf, but I assume it will still need to be in the same folder as files that I've included with it.
I'm now onto making the outside shell of the previous movie file. I'm just wondering how to drop in the previous swf into the shell of the new file by using Actionscript.
I've tried to attach the movie, but it doesn't seem to be working. Also, I need to keep in mind that I will use buttons in the outside shell movie to manipulate the inner movie. I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Inserting Movie
i wonder if anyone can help. i am inserting movie clips into my site, i know how to do this but i just wanted to find out if there is another way so that you can import the clip with the scrolling bar so you can scroll through which ever part of the movie you want.
for example, when opening a movie file in flash all you have is the picture, but is there another way so that it opens like it does in windows media player.

I have a flash movie, but I wish to insert other frames in the movie. I have created a seperate movie with these frames in.
Is there a way in which I can insert the second movie in the middle of my first one so it plays that one and then continues with the rest of the first movie?

Targeting Frame Label In Scene From Movie Clip In Same Scene

I'm trying to target a frame label on the timeline of a scene from a movie clip within the same scene, using Flash MX 2004 Pro. The scene is ultimately used as a .swf to load as a page of a website. The frame label is called "miscOn", the scene is called "misc". The below code is attached to a button within the movie clip.

Inserting My Movie Into Dreamweaver MX
Please excuse this major newbie question.
I created a drop down menu for the top of my webpage and inserted it into my Dreamweaver document. THe problem is that, for the drop down menus to appear, I had to make the Flash movie much taller than the menu bar itself. And in Dreamweaver, where there arent any layers, I dont know how to put text below where the dropdown menus will appear.

Inserting Movie Clip
Ok the problem I'm facing now is...for example there are three boxes in my movie clip. each of them appear and have animation on them. (meaning, they don't simply appear). All three boxes start there animation about 4 frames apart so that they do there animation at different times. What I would like to do is add another box so there are a total of 4 boxes. What I tried to do was copy the frames that made up one of the boxes then made a new symbol of a movie clip and inserted the frames into that...when I edited the text on the box and then tried to insert the movie clip back into the original timeline where the 3 boxes were...it had changed the box that i copied the frames from too. I know this sounds confusing but if anyone knows what I"m talking about, help would be amazingly appreciated. Thanks again.

Im inserting a .wav that I recorded on sound recorder. It saved as a .wav.
I went to file import, and imported it to my library. Then I tried to drag and drop it into a layer but it won't let me. How can I get this audio file to play where i want to in my movie?
Inserting Flix Movie
Help Please,
I have Flash MX. I have a question regarding inserting a swf file (Flix movie) into Flash. I read the how-to by Kirupa. I'm not that great at using Flash yet, so please bear with me. I did everything step by step a couple of times, and when I press my button to enact the swf, I get an error box. What could I be doing wrong?
Second, is there any way to insert a Flix movie into flash without having to create a "button" to enact the movie?
Also, why do I need to use Flix to change my quicktime file into an swf? Why can't I just use my quicktime file? Is it an issue of file size?

Inserting Movie In MouseOver Button
Greetings Flash Gods:
did it before for fun but now, blew a couple of brain cells and cannot seem to do it again.
what I'm attempting to achieve is for buttons, on mouseOver, to project an image out of the button itself and move to the right and increasing in size and in clarity.
so what I had tried in the past was to create a movie that started on the left, similar size as the button, 10% alpha and tweened it to the right increasing in size and in alpha. Made it into a movie and then created my button, edit in place and inserted the movie on mouseOver keyframe. gave the imagebutton action (on mouseOver, play)
But no work....
did it before somehow with a bunch of ball moving..but now cannot replicate it ...not even close...

I'm working on a movie with a lot of tweens. I need to insert some keyframes and tweens at the beginning of my movie but I want to know how to do this without altering the rest of my movie? There's probably an easy answer I'm not aware of.
I don't know what else to do but extend the end of my movie to create space for frames at the beginning. There must be an easy trick to do this?

Question About Inserting Movie Clip
I have a timeline that I stopped on frame 60,
I have 7 buttons that say 'On press goto Frame 62, 64, 66, ...
On the main timeline, I have inserted keyframes that have stop on frames 60, 62, 64, 66, ...
I inserted movie clips that run for each button at the corresponding frames, 60, 62, 64, 66, ...
At the end of each movie clip I have a stop.
My problem is that after the movie clip runs, and I click on the button again, it seems to go to the next movie clip, instead of running the clip again. Eg.) If I click on the first button, it stops on frame 62 and runs the movie clip on that frame. When I click the button again, it runs the movie clip on frame 64.
What is the proper way I should be doing this.

all is working well.
except im being a dumbass, and cant handle my data properly
i run a search on a .cat file, and it returns a string of matches, which i then want to insert into a premade movie... easy..

Loader Scene -> Movie Scene Problem
When my preloader finishes loading my movie, and i use gotoandplay ("Movie", 1), something goes wrong. When it is done loading, it continues on to the "Movie" Scene, but keeps switching rapidly between the load scene and movie scene. I need to know how to completely turn off the loader scene when it completes. Thanks
Target Frame In Scene From Movie In Same Scene
I know this is probably really basic, but I'm stuck here. Here's what I want to do: I have Movie1 on a layer in Scene1, and Movie2 on another layer in Scene1. In Movie1 is a button that, when pressed, goes to a particular Frame in Movie2. How do I do this!? Thanks!
Access Scene 2 From Movie Clip In Scene 1
I placed a button inside a movie clicp symbol in Scene 1.
Now I wan to set the button to play scene 2 when I click it.
I tryed

But it plays the movie clip symbol from the beggining Not the scene 2
An example file is attached. I should be able to click on the blue square (thats the button inside themovie clip ) and go to scene 2
Inserting Flash Movie In HTML Document
This seems simple enough, but I am having the darned-est time with making a Flash movie appear when I insert it into my HTML document.
The movie contains 3 simple buttons. I have saved it as a .swf file, published it, and exported it as a movie (though I'm still fuzzy on why I have to save, publish, and export - what's the difference?!)
In DreamWeaver I then insert the movie as a Flash file, but it doesn't appear when I view the doc in my browser. I have made sure that I saved the Flash file in my root folder and that I'm inserting the .swf version, but I've had no luck.
From the description I've given can anyone tell me what I need to do differently? If you need more info, please let me know.

By the way, I've also tried breaking the movie up into separate elements - the gradient background (a sidebar), plus 3 buttons that link to URLs. No luck with this either.

First of all I found Swish very easy to use compared to Flash 5.0
I created a movie with swish and was wondering how to insert into Dreamweaver. Here is what I need to do, I have a website the default page is index.htm. I want the movie to play first when people type in the web address. What needs to be done.
Also how do I include in the movie the option to skip intro?
And finally to turn the loop off. I only want the movie to run once, it kepts replaying.

I have made a small website and I have put the navigation along the top. Now, what I want to do is have a "box" of some sort in the main area that I can link to a .html file. Is this possible?

Problem With Inserting .swf Into Flash Movie Clip
Hi,
The problem is that I have a flash banner. And that banner is a flash MC containing some small MC that play at the end of the banner movie clip to create some effects without timeline. I write some play(); to play the MC objects.
Then I want to insert the whole animated banner to a new movie clip. I've tried to import it to library and use it as a movie clip object. But all the small MC inside the banner seem to refuse to play. After the banner appears, it just simply replays itself without any effects from MC objects i've done.
What should I do to get the full effects from my banner to my new clips?

Newbie Q: Inserting Hyperlinks In Movie Files
Hello People,
I'm pretty new to flash and am trying to insert a hypertext link into a flash document, so i can export it as a movie and use the movie as a navigation menu on my website.
When I try to use 'get url' in the actionscript. I get this output:

How do you do this? I have been wanting to do text effects, and people keep telling me to insert a movie clip or something. How do you do that?
