Inserting Banners In Flash
Please help me ppl.

I made a flash site and i want to place banners in it. Inserting 1 banner is easy but i want to place a new banner at the same spot if the last banner is finished playing. so it reloads and a new banner must apear.

How do i do this, is that with the auction 'settimer'?

Inserting Affiliates Banners In Flash Clips ?
Hi,
I want to insert affiliate banners in a quiz flash clip.

The problem is that to be rewarded on a cost per 1000 impressions, the banner must be downloaded from the client browser, not from my server. I guess the sandbox problem happens here

SO HERE IS THE QUESTION :
is there any way to download the flash clip from my server that itself downloads the banner from the affiliate's site ?

I guess this problem is well known but I haven't found reference to this in the forum, thanks in advance for your help !

i'm completely new to flash. i just wanna make few banners and a little intro. i have flash mx and swish 2.0. i know how to work swish a little bit, but don't know anything about flash mx. please direct me or tell me how do i get started, like adding animation to texts and images. thanx.

please someone.. i have created banners and put them on my site.. and when people go to view them. they can see them.. but if they go to use them.. they cant.. alls they see is an x box.. can someone please explain to me why.. they have a flashplayer.. but still not able to use them.

So I’m trying to teach myself flash and web design and was wondering how to make a flash web banner. I designed what I want the banner to look like but what do I do now? How do I make it work? Also If I wanted to post it as a comment to someone on a website like myspace.com how would I do that?

How do I make two banners on the same page interact with each other? Or, what is that called so I can do a better search?

SWF Banners In DW
I have 2 SWF web banners. I need to place them in a table of a website make in Dreamweaver. How do make Dreamweaver randomly select the banners? Or, is this something I command in the .FLA file? Please be as specific as possible as I only know the basics of Flash and Dreamweaver. Thanks a lot.

You could do either of these, in DW you would write a Javascript method to choose one or the other at random. However you could also do this with a loader FLA. Since this is a Flash forum let's look at that route.

Create a new FLA file the size of your banners. you'd create an empty MC, and use it to load one or the other swf files at random. Then you would place all the files in the same directory and embed the 'loader' SWF file in the DW page.

The code for the loader SWF would look something like this:

Thanks. This works when i preview it locally, but it doesn't work when i put all the files on the server. the banner area shows up blank. I embeded the 'loader' FLA in the DW file, then put the other 2 banner files in the same directory on the server. what am i missing?

I'm trying to make a banner for a webpage, but am having some difficulties. I'm trying to create a border to be put in a layer above an animation for the banner. But whenever I try to paste to border in (from photoshop, fireworks, etc) it ends up with the middle being all white and thus hiding the movie. any ideas?

Expanding Banners
Hi All,
I am looking to create an expanding banner in Flash. One that would cover the content of the page whilst the user rolls over it or for a certain amount of time.
I have found coding for this in CSS and hjavascript but I would like a Flash specific version.....Any ideas?

Expandable Banners
Help, I can't find any documentation on this...

Ever seen a banner on a site that when you rolled over it, it expanded into a larger banner? For example a tower banner on the right side of a web site is 120 x 500. When you rollover a button on the banner, the banner opens up on top of the page content, usually at least doubling the size of the original banner.

I understand the transparency (wmode) concept of floating banners, but I can't figure out how to get a fixed flash banner in a fixed banner position on the page to expand without having it blow out the page.

I'm using Flash 5 on IE with the OAS (Open Ad Stream - Real Media) banner ad "client".

Is there more to this than just Flash? Is there backend programming involved? Or is it the OAS that's holding me back?

Linking .swf Banners..
Hello people,

i'm new to this board and i was wondering if you could help me with a little issue !

I would like to know how to use a flash banner (.swf) as a signature or image link with forums using BBCode, vBCode, etc..
I've seen this a several times and tryed to do the same, but the .swf doesn't show with the usual [ i m g ] command ! I guess there must be a flash player embed or something..

So, what's the secret behind this ? tell me if you know ! please

I'm doing some advertising for a Bridal Show coming up in August. I've been hired to do pretty much all of the advertising, web, print, tv, etc. I'm finished with my flash banner but want to know if there are any good ways of exporting it so the end user doesn't have to worry about compatibility issues? The last thing I want is for someone to visit a site that the banner will be posted on and not be able to see it.
Should I just keep it as a .swf or export it as something else?

Random Swf Banners?
Hi all. I have a HTML page, with a long swf banner at the top. Ive created 3 swf banners, but i need to create some sort of random script? So that each time a visitor comes back in, there will be a different banner at the top. Each one of these individual banners, has some links and running animation, etc. Now...is there some way i can create a script to do this? Thx

Rotating Banners
Ok kids here goes,
On our web site www.essentialdirect.co.uk we have rotating flash banner system at the top right. trouble is as you will see if you watch the current system cuts the second banner ad off half way through its movie and then resets back to the first one.
The system is the one created by Brian Weir ages ago and i have emailed him but received no reply, fair enough i am sure he is busy.

The current system works as follows -
Flash based control movie that reads of an xml file
xml file tells movie what flash ad to load and how long to let it play

Now we need a system like this or better, but i cannot for the life of me find one that rotates flash swf files based on a time setting. I can find rotators that display when a page is reloaded but we don't want that.

so what do we want exactly: well something like this.
When a person loads up a page from our site, one of however many flash banners is loaded up randomly, then from an xml? file the movie continues to load up one after another the other ads. When the page is refreshed teh whole sequence starts again.

Is this possible? and does anyone know where i can get something like this??

Loops For Banners
I'm creating a banner for a client and he wants for it to loop 3 times before stopping.

What is the simplest way to do this without increasing the file size? Someone suggested that I just cut and paste the same frames three times. Will this increase the file size?

Background For Banners
I've just started doing some flash banners at work and was wondering what the standard method was for supplying some sort of .gif or .jpg background for users without flash. I doesn't seem like the embed tag that my swf sits inside has an attribute for background image. I guess this is more of an HTML question than a flash one, but someone's gotta know. Any ideas on how to do this?

Ive recently started dabbling with flash, after fireworks file sizes were becoming far to big.

Basically ive made a basic banner/signature, which i intend to use on forums. But im having a hard time linking the file so it will show. It seems to only show the link to the file, and not the actual file itself.

do i need some special tags for it to show or somthing?

I am going to put both the flash website and banners into dreamweaver.

I need the 6 flash banners to appear randomly on my website (rotate?).. Does anyone know how to do this?.. I heard you can out some javascript code for it?..

I also want the banner ads to link to 2 different games... 3 banner ads link to one game and the other 3 to another game..

I am wanting to make a banner add that calls random flash movies to play within it. Does anyone have any idea on how to do this or know of a tutorial?

Please keep in mind im a very new and only know graphics, I get by with action script though copy n paste lol. So if someone does know the code it would be fantastic if they could post it and let me know any changes i might need to make.

? About Ad Banners & Frames
Ok it's a super newbie question but I have to swallow my pride and ask it.

Do the amount of frames in an ad banner affect the file in the same way that it does if you were to do it in image ready? Or can you add as many frames as you want as long as it is within the 12 k requirement?

So, I'm really not very good with this stuff but I've been given the job of making a banner for a WoW guild website. We've decided to make it have random pictures of the main raiders. I've used the tutorial Sanju has put up Here but I haven't had much luck, all I get is a blank white banner.
