Installing Flash Plugin On IE6 Image For VPC 2007
Hi,
Do any of you use the Microsoft IE6 image for VPC 2007 to test IE6? If so, is there any way to install the Flash plugin for IE6? I have tried but it doesn't seem to go through. I am doing some stuff with ExternalInterface and wanted to make sure I wasn't getting any strange IE6 bugs in my JavaScript, but can't test in IE6. I may just resort to uninstalling IE7, testing IE6, and then reinstalling IE7 when I am done.

XML Problem After Installing Office 2007
Sinds we installed Office 2007 we get an message when dealing with XML in our application:
Couldn't find library MSVCR80.DLL (required by c:PROGRA~1COMMON~1MICROS~1OFFICE12MSOXMLMF.DLL)
Copying the DLL to SYSTEM32 or another directory doesn't work.
I think it has to do something with the .Net 2.0 framework.
Can anyone tell me more about this.. or beter.. give me a solution?

Flash Plugin Not Auto Installing On Win XP
we have recently made the jump to support FLASH MX on our website, but we were very concerned with making sure we did not exclude any users... we thought that it would be possible for the users to automatically download the cabs from macromedia and install, and run. everything seemed nice until yesterday one of our co-workers tried to access the website on windows XP, and it pops up with the macromedia "trust content , blah blah, install, yes, or no" box... so he hits yes and then we assume that everything starts to download and work, but instead... nothing happens... everything hangs, and its just a black box where the flash MX movie is. He was not a administrator on the machine, but i am not sure that matters... none-the-less, we logged him out, logged in as a admin, and hit the page and got it to work, but mere coincidence, a non-coworker user (client) accessed the website from his home computer and was on XP as a admin (personal computer) and the site did the same thing... is there a problem with windows XP? i understand the issues about the active X controls how you cant overwrite the flash 5 control, and then they came out with a new name or something to that effect, but has anyone else had this weird result? i cannot export as flash 5 because i am using buttons as objects and it seems to be a flash MX thing...
any help would be much appreciated as our website is live and we have clients hitting it every day, and would like a minimum number of problems.

Gratefully through this site i found the link to old versions of the flash plugin on macromedias website ( http://www.macromedia.com/support/fl...oldplayers.htm )
anyway i cant seem to find instructions on how to install these old plugins. I downloaded the automatic flash unstaller application then downloaded the zipped up flash5 plugin and inside was to files, an swflash.inf and a SwFlash.ocx file. I right clicked on the swflash.inf file and selected install, but it now no flash works in my browser.
Anyone know how to get a old version of the plugin installed and working properly.

Installing Flash Media Encoder2 Authorization Plugin
Hi!
I'm using the developer edition of Flash Media Interactive server 3 and Flash Media Encoder 2. We're goinig to send a livestream using Flash Media Encoder2.
To protect streams we'd like to use authorization module.
I also tried to install the authentication add-on:
auth_addin_win_v2.msi - but it fails (just the install dialogs, that says Flash Media Server etc...).
Is there other way to authorization with Flash Media Encoder?
Is it possible to record stream at passed from Flash Media Encoder server side ?

Installing Authentication Plugin
I am having trouble installing the flash media encoder authentication plugin, version 2.1. when i try, i get a message saying "Please install Macromedia Flash Media Server prior to installing this add-in".
I have Flash Interactive Server installed on the same machine as I am trying to install the add-in.

I have a XP machine that will not install the Flash6 plugin. I have gone through the uninstall process recommended by Macromedia but the uninstaller could not find the win32.dll (it is one folder deeper than the uninstaller is looking). Help, this is driving me crazy.

Javascript Popup To Install Flash Plugin, But Plugin Is Already Installed..
I have plugin checker code in place, checking for Plugin 9. On a co workers computer at home, she is prompted to download the Flash plugin via a javascript alert window that says "Install" or "Don't Install". After doing the install, it continues to happen over and over. This ONLY happens with Flash Plugin 9. I am about to revert back to Actionscript 2.0 for this application and use Flash Plugin 8 to see if that fixes it. Has anyone run into this before and does anyone have any resolution? Wanting to know how to redirect a user to another site (non-flash) if they do not have the flash plugin installed on their computer.

No Plugin Display Gif Image Code - How To
I am trying to get Flash MX to generate the code under Publish to generate the flash and if the plugin is not detected to just show a gif image. I cannot seem to generate just that. I Don't want the user to download the plugin which is the code it keeps giving me.

Warning Update Problem With Flash MX 2007 7.2
I updated to Flash MX 2004 7.2 yesterday.
I Continued to work on my recent project and suddently as i exported the .swf file, Flash falled in some kind of endless loop and failed to render my .fla file!
It created an 14 MB .swf file and promted a message "Run out of Memory" !!!
The .Fla was still accessible after that but apparently destroyed.
I tried more times to figure out what went wrong.
I downgraded to 7.1 again.
I tried to open the original working file. And it opened in Flash normaly but as soon i wanted to render it to an swf file the same problem occured. Runned out of Memory and generated an 14 megabyte .swf file that was unplayable.
Hopefully i had a backup file.
If someone has simmilar expericences please report.

Flash CS3 With Word 2007 - Unable To Create Flash Object
Hey, I wondered if someone had noticed this problem before. I used a typical install of Flash CS3, as well as Word 07' around the same time ages ago (not really important, but...). Anyhow I was writing up a simple document the other day and needed to throw a flash file into it. When I tried to insert a Flash Object, I got this nifty error:

Flash Plugin Error "Plugin Cancelled"
Hi, Just built a small test tool to resize an image. Its working fine on my local machine however when uploaded to my site the externally loaded jpg file wont load and I'm getting a Plugin Cancelled error in the Safari activity window. I tried with firefox and no luck. I just upgraded to flash plugin 8 a few days ago. I'm publishing with mx2004 (FP 7)

Help With Installing Flash 5
I was given a copy of Flash 5 and tried to install it on my Windows Xp laptop to no avail. The CD says it is for Windows 2000, Windows 98, 95 and NT. I thought for sure XP would work too. I get the point in the install that reads "Launching Generator Installer" and it hangs there.

Help Installing Flash
When I go to install The new Flash Player, the installation site freezes so i can't install it. I uninstalled it to see if it helped nothing,i have disabled the pop-up blocker and the ActiveX settings in the security tab and it still freezes and wont install.
My internet browser is IE 6, 900MHz processor, 352Mb RAM, OS is XP SP2, and DirectX 9.0c (if that is any help)

Installing Flash CS3
i am trying to install flash CS3 and it says in order to install i need to close internet explorer
i do not have it open, and when i go to task manager it says under processes that its running
when i click end task on it, it just opens again within miliseconds.
i thought it maybe a virus so i ran spyware doctor and norton anti virus and it found a few infections, i cleaned them but i still have this problem
so there is no way for me to install the program.
can anybody tell me how to either bypass this or uninstall IE or at least block IE from opening?

I've been trying to get Flash 10 installed and working on a system. The install goes fine, but when I try to view content, I just get a red x. Greetings..
I work for a rather large corporation, with rather stringent download and installation policies for our PCs. I have developed a webpage using MX and some of the features I've used (such as setRGB), must have Flash Player 6 to be installed.
Problem is, (and we're on an NT network here), the user base for the most part only has Flash Player 4 installed, and unless they're administrators or power users of their machines, they cannot download or install Flash Player 6.
So I'm kind of in a bind - does anyone have any suggestions to fix this? Thanks!

Installing Old Flash Plugins (and A Bug)...

got a bug in a site that was due to go live a few days ago.. the site was sent to my testing department and it was found to have some errors loading some images in to a movie clip preloader.. It gets to the point where it says "displaying image x of x" but no image is being displayed.. If it was a problem loading the image in (the images are all in .swf format) then it would just sit there saying "loading image x of x". so anyway, this only seems to be a problem with the flash 5 player (i am exporting as version 5, and yes, all files are confirmed to be exported in flash 5 format).. flash 6.x player runs the site like a babe..
anyway, enough of that, that is for another thread.. so, i am trying to go back to flash 5 (i am running winXP pro) so i can test it and try and re-create the problem so i can start a process of finding the compatibility problem (all my 5 PC's have at some point been upgraded to Flash player 6, as 4 of those have Flash MX installed anyway..)
Downloaded the "swflash.inf" & "SwFlash.ocx" files from the Macromedia site (Flash 5 versions) but there is no mention as to what the hell to do with them... I have also downloaded the flash player uninstaller from the Macromedia site so i can be sure of a fresh flash 5 install.. anyone had experience installing old players?? - WTF am i supposed to do with them?

you will notice that the thumbnail images all load in fine but some of the main photo images (that load in once you select the thumbnail image you would like to see in full size) are not displayed despite i have used exactly the same loadmovie action.. see what you think..

Installing Flash For IE With Non IE Browser
I need a link where I can refer people to download the IE version of the Flash player regardless of what browser they use to do the actual download.
Any ideas? Whenever i go to the download URL, it detects which browser I am using, even if I use the URL specificall for IE, it gives me the version for the browser which I'm currently using.
I just always want the IE version. I have an app that requires this version.

Problem With Installing Flash
Hi there,
I've been having problems with ff crashing with flash sites and then I have noticed that Flash isn't installing properally since it goes to load the setup and gets to 100% and disappears of the task bar. Checked the processes and it's still running in the background but doesn't do anything. Here is the install log file and I can see that it can't do a couple of things and right at the bottom it even says "Could not execute the external program C:PROGRA~1MOZILL~1FIREFOX.EXE -url "%1".". Just wondered if someone could help.

Help Installing Flash Player
Hey there. I apologise in advance for being slightly computer illiterate :) You technological whizz-kids scare me (:
Anywho, im having trouble installing flash player. It downloads fine, but when i try to install it it freezes up. It states that it is Searching Macintosh Harddrive. It freezes on stage four... or the fourth stage from the end. Something to do with the number four ... teehee. I have tried all the methods on the help page.. that apparently solve the vast majority of problems with the flash player. Exept, when i try to uninstall the old vertion of flash using the app, everything freezes up, and will only unfreeze when i force quit the application. Im pretty sure i tried to manually delete the files. This has been a problem for a few weeks now, and, frankly, its pissing me off.
Any help would be much appreciated
Im using a G4 Ibook. OS X version 10.4.9.

Having Difficulties Installing Flash CS3 Pro
When I launch setup.exe on Windows Vista Home Premium as administrator, a Gui box pops up which says "Adobe Setup" with an empty progress bar, and about 5 seconds later is disappears and nothing happens. What is going on here? Can I have the FTP links to the Adobe Flash CS3 Pro Trial. I need a differen't type of setup cause this one does not solve anything. Any help?

Hi. I don't currently have flash installed on my Macbook pro (intel based). When I go to the adobe website and select the download for intel based mac, I download and install software with no problems. However immediately after installing flash, I'm am brought to a website where I am prompted to install a missing plugin. I try to do this and get a message that says "failed" and "no plugins we're installed".
I tried uninstalling all previous versions of Flash (in case the older versions were somehow prevening new version from installing properly) with another app. from adobe specifically designed to remove oder versions.
Any help would be appreciated as I am unable to view any flash content on this computer that I just love otherwise.

Another Problem Installing Flash 8
Hi, I have fully and successfully installed Macromedia Flash Pro 8 on my mothers computer,
however, when I try doing the SAME thing on my computer this is what happens...
I double click the msi and installation proceeds to happen.
Then, in the middle of installing, the whole thing just disappears.
Now, I've tried EVERYTHING I COULD GOOGLE UP!!!!
Is it because it won't support Gateway laptops or something?

Error Installing Flash On Mac OS X
Each time I try to install flash on my Mac OS X (10.4.7-10.4.10) I get the following error:
Error Creating File
1008:5,-5000 Access Denied Error
After you click OK, I get the following:
You do not have enough access privileges for this installation.
I have done the following with no success.
Verified the user is an admin.
Uninstalled current version of Flash/repaired permissions on the driver/reinstall new version.
Created new Admin account and attempted to load.
Tried installing while logged in under the first admin created on the box.
Scoured the web for suggestions.
Viewed Adobe’s technical support site.
I am not fluent with Linux, but have seen some stuff on the web to try but I am little leary of going there.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Installing Flash On A New IMac
Ok... here's my problem.
I'm trying to install Flash CS3 on my new iMac. I've got Flash 8 on it, works fine. When I put in the Flash CS3 DVD, I get no installer or anything. I get a window with the following items:
Adobe Extension Manager.webloc
Adobe Flash CS3 Professional (folder)
Adobe Reader 8 (folder)
Adobe Solutions Network (folder)
Documentation (folder)
Flash CS3 Professional Read Me.html
Goodies (folder)
Looking inside the Adobe Flash CS3 Professional folder, there is a "Setup.app" which I launched, but it only wants to install the player, not the full app. There is nothing that says "Install Flash" or "Flash Installer" anywhere. The read me says "If the installer does not launch automatically, navigate to the application folder found at the root level on your disk and double-click Setup Mac OS® to start the installation process." There is nothing of the sort on the disk... no applications folder on the root level, just the things referenced above.
Any insights or thoughts on what I'm dealing with would be appreciated. I'm dead in the water w/out Flash and this is very frustrating.
