Keyboard Shortcut Mapping For F5
Has anyone experienced this:

Keyboard mismatch problem in Flash. The key F5 maps to the capitol letter C. Editing the keyboard mapping set doesn't solve the problem. Using U.S. English (default) keyboard but have in the past used French and British English with other applications.
It is probably a support issue for Apple (though I've only experienced it in Flash). I'm heading over there but I thought I'd let you know in case you've heard from others about this issue.
Steps to reproduce bug:
1. Open Keyboard Shortcuts editor, create a duplicate set.
2. Go to Menu item Timeline --> Frame
3. Type the F5 key
Results: The capitol letter "C"
Expected results: The letter/number "F5"

Odd Thing With Keyboard Mapping...
I keep getting this odd thing happen to me while I'm using Flash which is really starting to irritate me and wondered if anyone else has come across the same thing:
I'll be coding away quite happily, and then suddenly my keyboard mapping within Flash will change so that the inverted commas which I normally get by pressing shift+2, suddenly switches places with the ampersand, so when I press shift+2, I start getting an ampersand, and when I press the key that's normally an ampersand, I get the inverted commas.
Obivously, the need to use inverted commas in Actionscript rather a lot makes this a big pain in the backside, and the only way I can get them to switch back is by closing Flash and restarting it.
Am I accidentally pressing some kind of keyboard shorcut that is causing this to happen, or is it a bug?

Transparent Flash Keyboard Mapping Problem
Hi All.
I have a flash site that is used for 2 different clients. One of the clients has a black html page so we've set the html page to make flash transparent:
<param name="wmode" value="transparent" />
this works great and gives the 2 sites a very different feel (we use styles to change text colour).
The problem though is that on the transparent site when I try to type and e-mail address " appears instead of @
I am in the UK with a UK keyboard.
This seems like a flash bug. Is there any fix?

Timeline Keyboard Shortcut
Hi,
I've been searching the documentation but I can't find anything on this: a way to quickly navigate the timeline, especialy move to the beginning and end using keyboard shortcuts.
The only thing I've found is to use ctrl+0 to go to the end but that doesn't work.

Keyboard Shortcut On Frame
Hi again, in the frame number 8 (for example) the movie stop in this frame I want te movie continue to frame 9 playing when I hit the letter "s" (for example), how I can do this???
I dont want to use the mouse and a button in the stage, just use the keyboard to continue playing the movie when it reach a frame with the stop action.

Assigning A Keyboard Shortcut

I've created a form in Flash that will be used on a website. Like most forms, one can hit the enter button on their keyboards and this will submit the form rather than having to click the button. Is this possible to achieve in Flash?

Keyboard Shortcut Nightmare ?
I am having severe difficulty implementing keyboard shortcuts in my movie. The problem is the Browser (Well Internet Explorer) which takes precedence on any Keyboard Shortcut i set up.
Example:
Ctrl+p - in my movie should bring the user to the phrase tab
IE takes precedence and launchs a new print dialog window.
This is not a problem with firefox, if the movie has focus it takes precedence.
has anybody come up against this problem ?? i cant seem to find a solution anywhere ...

I'm am always finding myself wanting a keyboard shortcut to jump to the properties tab "Instance Name" to add an instance name for a movie clip/button, whatever. Does anybody know if there is one or if I can customize a keyboard shortcut to do that?

Keyboard Shortcut Question?
Hey Guys, I posted this question awhile back on the flashkit forum and no one had an answer for me. Basically, I was wondering if there was a keyboard short cut to move to the next or previous keyframe? I know the keyboard shortcut to move ahead or behind one frame at a time but nothing on moving from keyframe to keyframe. I've searched all over the place for info regarding this and came up with nothing. It would be such a time saver when editing in the timeline.

Keyboard Shortcut Print Sheet, Anyone?
I am looking for a compiled, layed out and ready for print, Keyboard Shortcuts Sheet.
And yes I know you can export the keyboard shortcuts as an html file, well have you seen the file/page it makes? On a home printer it would take 6 pages to print, only because it's layed out long ways.
I realize I could spend some time re-aligning the tables and making it print ready but I figured mabey it's already been done and out there somewhere, ready to be shared.

Pin Script Shortcut On Qwertz Keyboard
THis is not an actionscript 2.0 question but a mx2004 one.
I really enjoyed the new possibility which allow to pin script (even if the script editor is not as complete as other extenal one...), but I discovered with anger that I can't use the pin script shortcut (usually ctr-=) on my qwertz keyboard ;(
My question:
Do someone managed to use the ctr-= shortcut on a qwertz keyboard? or have found some equivalent?

Brush Size Keyboard Shortcut
After looking I couldn't find a keyboard shortcut that controls brush size. Is there a way to set brush size to the bracket keys, as in Photoshop?
...Forgot to note: I am running Flash Pro 8, but would like to know if there is a solution in either 8 or CS3.

Assigning A New Keyboard Shortcut That Isn't Default
In CS4, I'd like to to assign a keyboard shortcut to the "Smooth" tool (which comes up when you click pointer.) How can I do this? When I click on Tools Panel in the Keyboard Shortcut menu, it isn't an option and it also isn't listed in the Customize Tools menu. I figuring, if I replace one of the available tools with the smooth tool (again, not the one associated with pencil, but the one that appears when you click pointer), I can do it. But how can I replace or add to the available tools?
I'm using a mac, tiger 10.11.4

Flash MX Zoom Tool Keyboard Shortcut
I'm going crazy trying to find keys which will temporarily give me the selection tool, the zoom tool, and also there seem to be several panels in Flash MX which don't have a close button and I have to scroll all the way down to Close in the panel's options. Must be easier ways of doing this like in all the other programs!

Keyboard Shortcut For Anti-alias Text
Hi, I've been finishing up a huge project, it's largely text based and now that it's gone through QA, there is a problem with blurriness. The font is set to arial, font size 12, aliased (pixelated) but as soon as i navigate through any swfs, it goes blurry. I have tried literally everything else, but setting it back to anti-aliased, obviously makes it look okay.
Well, I have to go back and set all the text to anti-aliased now, so I was wondering is there a keyboard shortcut that I can use to change a text box to anti-aliased quickly?
I have about 2000+ text boxes to go through so anything that could speed up the process would be really appreciated.

Import/export .wxf Keyboard Shortcut Prefs
Can anyone share some insight as to the portability of the .wfx keyboard shortcuts files? I'm planning on making the switch to Flash CS3 (v.9) from MX Pro 2004 (v.7) and would like to migrate my extensive custom keyboard shortcuts rather than have to rebuild from scratch. One big reason I held back from upgrading to v.8 was this very issue. I've been able to successfuly copy my .jsfl files between the corresponding Commands folders with v.7 and v.8, and assumed doing the same with .wfx files would work just as well. After copying over, the custom key set does show up in the app, but all the bindings are lost.

Flash MX 2004 Keyboard Shortcut Woes
I just recently purchased 2004 Professional (the academic version) and I can't get the align shortcuts to work...
I've snooped around in the forums and can't find any similar complaints?? I've also modified the shortcut keys (edit->keyboard shortcuts) to some alternate sequences just for testing as well as installing the latest update but still no love. Any ideas? this is driving me crazy! Thanks a lot.

Keyboard Domination - Best Tricks To Hear All Possible Keyboard Shortcuts
I'm looking to recreate a keyboard shortcut quiz in flash much like this example that's been done in javascript.... (Note: the example seems to only really work well on Windows - I'm hoping mine proves to be more compatible?). a timer counts down while it waits for you to correctly perrform the shortcut on the keyboard.
I've successfully implemented a key combination listener such as is detailed in a tutorial here. I've gotten it to parse my list of shortcuts from a delimited txt file, correctly analyze user combination held & advance/score if correct, drive score based on countdown time remaining, manage "pass" to skip tough ones, etc.

However I've still got several things that don't work even though I'm using fscommand("trapallkeys", "true"); (does that even matter when used within browser plugin?)
1) Ctrl key doesn't register on Macs (tried Safari & Ffox) but Cmd key does. This is odd since it works fine when previewing in Flash via Ctrl-Enter (and having enable keyboard shortcuts disabled in that player). Not a showstopper as client's cool if it's windows only.
2) Any shortcuts that utilize the Alt key - seems flash doesn't detect a key event when I hit that key. I've seen another thread here intimating that Flash can't hear code #18 (alt) even though javascript can it certainly seems true in flash player. Is this true? Can it be somehow "pressed" by javascript via a JS key handler?
3) Any that conflict with browser default actions e.g. Ctrl-P, Ctrl-S. Before saying there's no way, note that somehow the JS on the example link *do* block those (on IE/Ffox Win anyways). Does anyone have a clue what part? Will disabling the browser's default actions mean Flash receives the input or will flash not hear them either?
Any help will I'm sure benefit anyone looking to listen for key combos.

how do I give keys like a, b, c, etc.
for example if (Key.isDown(Key.RIGHT) works for the right arrow key but how do i get say if (Key.isDown(Key.Z) or something like that to work?

Mapping From 3D To 2D
I have read a book on 3D calculation and know that in order to make a 3D object in flash , you need to map it out from X , Y and Z coordinate (3D) into X and Y world of flash which is done with this code :

Mapping CreateEmptyMovieClip() ?
I am getting close to solving the problem of resizing my weather images, but now the problem is figuring out the movie mappings. I have found that the _root level code below works as desired in a test movie. But when I try to implement it within the drop-down menu system I am developing, the weather maps aren't visible.

Here is my current structure:
In the _root level of my movie I attach four buttons:
Current | Radar | Satellite | Forecast.
When I click on CURRENT, I next attach a movie instance called "curRegions". This movie consists of six menu buttons:

Southeast
North Central
South Central
Northwest
Southwest
Each of these buttons -- arranged as a single menu -- has the above actionscript associated with it. All that changes is the weather image file name. I have similar menus attached to the other main button items.
My question is: How do I map this? I have tried the following:

Mapping Problem
I want an image to dissapaer little by little - from the middle out as a growing hole if you want. What is the best way to do this, a way that keeps it easy to modify the pieces through the making of the file (easy selectioning)? I tried several things: making a group of the separate pieces to simplify the selection and making symbols of the pieces, but whenever I make a map of those pieces, only one piece functions as a map (the backmost piece)
Any ideas?
Maybe making a symbol of the image and making several instances of it with there own map works?

MX: Z-mapping Woes
Having a clipping issue with a tile-based isometric map I'm working on.
The .swf can be found at http://alweb.betterbox.net/test.html ... Move around some and you'll see what my problem is. The numbers represent the level the tile is currently on.

My question: how can I fix the clipping problem? I've been working on it for days but I've yet to actually fix it. I've checked out the tutorials at OutsideOfSociety, and I've gotten the same problem even when copying the code word-for-word.

Network Mapping - Can This Be Done?
Hi,
I have a text file with a list of IP addresses in it.
I want flash to display a picture of a computer for every IP address in that text file.
The pictures should de displayed in a nice layout and not randomly on the screen.
Can someone please help!

Image Mapping ?
I have a simple 'blueprint' of my yard's sprinkler zones.
I want to make a flash page that I can move my mouse over the zones and they light up (mouse over) and if I click they take me to that web page.
and each zone can read a variable and if it is true they turn green meaning the watter is running in that zone. how can I do this ? currently the 'blueprint'
is just image mapped in dreamweaver and works ok, but it is hard to tell what zone you are over because they dont change with the mouse over event.
Ill take all the help I can get.
