hi i have a problem in flash buttons,i had made a flash button and saved as swf file now i imported that swf file in html page,now iw ant to give link that swf file in htmp page,i know we can give link in flash it self but i want to use the swf button as button in my html page if i gve link in flash means it will open in the whole parent page itself but i want to gve link to frames so can anyone help me give link for swf file in html page

Link From One Swf File To A Specific Frame In Another Swf File
Hi, I am a beginner actionscript coder and am in a quandry about how to link a small swf file (just a button, in fact) on an html page to the final frame of another, independent flash movie. This is so that the user won't have to view that movie to get to the menu at its end. The whole project will be distributed on a CD. Thanks for any input and please explain as simply as possible. Hello everyone,

I was hoping someone could help me. I have a flash file and the action script, for this file, is saved out on a external file from the flash movie.

I need to have the 'movie.swf' in one folder on the server and the 'sample.as' file in another folder, so how would I link them together.

Before they shared the same folder, but I need to seperate them up on the server, so I would just input the name 'sample' in the (Document class) in the poperties window of the 'movie.fla'. so now I need the correct way to link swf file to the AS file.

I´m just getting into flash. I know this is a really stupid question but i can find how to link to a external file in flash. I´m using flash to create a menu to play some avi files. The only way to play those files is linking to them I guess, opening it with the windows media player. BUt, how i do that? Thaks folks and forgive my ignorance

I need to create 2 projector files (2 presentations) on CD. In the first presentation when I click the button it will close that one and will run to the second presentation. So, what I need is, that when I click now the button in the second presentation it will close that one and run to back to that first presentation.

Link In XML File
I have a flash site which loads 'body copy' into dynamic text boxes. The body copy comes from xml files and is formated using .css.

If the .xml file has a link in it, is there a way to make the link behave like the a button action in flash??? In other words, I want the link to load another .swf in it's place...but I don't want it to load to "_parent" (which would replace the whole html page). I want the link to replace the current .swf or load an .swf to a blank movie clip.

I have a site I am working on. I have a video that I want a user to download. Normally I would just have them right click on the file and save target as. Since I am using flash I am trying to figure a way around it. I have been using getURL but it is opening the video in a browser window. Does anyone know if it is possible to download the target file, similar to a right click and save target as?

HI,

I have a movieclipsthat when clicked on will go to the latest new page. I want it to read from the file LINKS.txt in same directory and the var LINKNEWS (which will have a hyperlink) and then go to that link. I was able to get the latest info from a text file in a dynamic text but LoadVaribles but there is no VAR for movieclips. IS this possible?

Hi all,

Im new to flash and I cant work something out ive got 2 buttons on my site ive just built that dont seem to be linking to the pdf pages ive done.

The code I have on these is :

I just want them to pop up in the browser window in pdf format. The website is just on a test server at the mo, and needs to be put on the clients server.
so at the moment its at: www.inca-webdesign.co.uk/hull
and the area im refering to is the 'how to find us' page 'map and directions' section and the butons for the pdfs sre in green on the far left titeled 'click hear for printable map'.

I was wondering if someone could please point me in the right direction.

I have a flash movie on my stage. It is scrolling text that I want to be a link to a pdf file on our server. The file is uploaded, but I can't get it to link to file. "not found" error message. I had to create an html file with the info, it works fine but not with a pdf like a normal html link. Is this not possible to do?

Hi,

I have an fla file which I need to be able to link to a url in a new blank page. The only way I have been able to do this successfully so far is to link some of the text. The client however wants the whole file to be clickable to the url in a new window.

I have read up on this and have found that I should basically create a new layer over the top of the original one and draw a rectangle over it, make it a button and then add the action script onto that. I have tried that without success and am at the point of banging my head against a brick wall.

I'm sure it can't be that complicated but for some reason I just cannot get it to work.

SWF File As A Link
I have a .swf file which is seated as a layer on a page of a website.

On click of the flash it should redirect me to another asp page.

The flash is embedded within a <div> tag. I have tried onclick of <div>.

When I click on the border of the flash it is redirecting me.

But I want the redirection onclick of anywhere on the flash.
How do I do it?

My dynamic box reads an external txt file from a site, that's ok BUT...is it possible to somehow create a link in txt file?

eg.

How To Link To A .swf File
I am trying to put a link on a webpage so when the user clicks on it the .swf file opens up in another page.

Code:

the problem is the file is 800 x 150 but when it opens up in the new page it opens up full width of the screen. I would like it so the little .swf file opens up is this possible???

Hey all... I'm a total noob, but would like to know how to get a flash movie to link to a htm page. Just recently started Flash development and I have a simple XML running a slideshow of products. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to get the thing to link to the .htm page. I've surrounded the OBJECT tags with an ANCHOR tag, and still can't get it to work.
