Load HTML Webpage Into Flash
Hi everyone,

I'm quite new to flash and am currently using CS3. I want to load a html webpage which contains a calendar into my swf file. The html file does not contain tags that flash does not recognise but im unsure on how to get flash to display the webpage, if this is possible at all. I have attached the code within my html file. Basically all I want to do is load "calendar.html" into my flash movie and keep its format. Any help or a demo on how to do this would be really appreciated.

How To Load A Webpage (.html) Into A .swf With Scroll Bars?

Ok I have been looking throught the site tring to find a way to open a webpage in flash but I have not been able to find what I have had in mind. If some one can help me that would be the best.

This is what I am looking to do:
I want a button linked to an external webpage that opens in flash (it's self) as a faded window that comes from the side, top, or bottom. The best way I can explain it is when you pull the dashboard up for window's vista or jaguar. Every thing is fade or out of focus and can not be touched untill the webpage is closed with a X button in the corner.

Please help me ... ^_^ I would be EXTREMELY greatful.

I've got a flash movie that links to a webpage....if i use the fs command for full screen, the webpage remains behind it....

it has to be upfront, (otherwise its useless)....what are the alternatives?

Flash Anim Over HTML Webpage?
What I need is a flash animated cartoon to walk across a web page, web page being HTML or flash,

The background needs to be transparent (so not a pop up box) as the cartoon needs to look as if it's walking on the page.
I plan to have this a bit like the Microsoft paper clip (only less annoying!)

I've not been used script that long so I'm a bit out of my depth any help, tips, or advice most welcome.

Loading An HTML Webpage Into Flash.
Hey, does anybody know if it's possible to load an html webpage from a URL into a flash document. Like, so that you can have a flash navigation system but every time they load a new page, it wouldn't have to reload the flash.
If it's not possible it's not possible but I just thought I'd ask.

Display HTML Webpage In Flash
I am a novice flash user but I would like to know if it is possible (or how difficult) to display a HTML pae inside a flash movie, so I could dynamically display this changing page inside a flash movie.
I am aware that there are ways to take in individual fields from dbase into text fields in flash but I was actually interested in displaying a web page whose structure could change a lot and thus info could not be stored in set db fields.
Is this asking too much of flash??

Hi, I'm new to the community and would like some advice on how I can make my buttons, gifs and logos in flash and use them in my html coded webpage as part of my webpage. I saw a cool site http://www.totallyradio.com implementing this technique and would like to do the same, however I do not know how to go about this? Flash Button Won't Go To Anchor <a> On The Same Webpage (index.html)
In the webpage with the swf I have an anchor at the bottom of the same page. (Im speaking of html anchors not flash anchors EG: a name="sd"></a>) I want the flash button to scroll the user to that part of the page with the anchor (#sd) I tried using GetURL but it only reloads the page(index.html)without going to the anchor (index.html#sd). I really need a way for a flash button to point to anchors on a webpage but now I'm really frustrated. is there a way to do this that actually works?

In my flash movie the user must input information in a form.
I would like to post the data on a html website text area form.
For exemple in a flash movie the user must enter his message board login and password info and once the user click login the flash movie open a new web browser window with the login html page with the form already filled with the previous information inputed in the flash movie.....

Hey...

Pretty much what I would like to do is have a specific URL show in a flash movie. Thats it, nothing else... The main purpose for this is to show my current ebay auctions.

The page I would like to show is a CGI page just like:

Im not sure how to do this, Ive heard that you cannot just embed any website into flash and that you have to turn it into an xml thread but like i said i have no idea.

Published HTML Into Webpage
My question is regarding the placement of HTML code published from my flash movie into my webpage. I have flash elements on my pages but not a complete flash page. Where do I put the code, if possible, to test for the version of flash player which i would like for viewers to have? I know if it is a total flash site, i can just use the HTML code which is published, but for a page that is not completely flash, mostly HTML with flash elements added in a few locations, where do I put the code?

Hi everybody

Does anybody know how to get Flash to load HTML pages into a seperate HTML page?

I'm currently running an animation within a webpage, and my client would like to be able to have some captions in HTML on the page that go with specific parts of the animation.

He wants the captions done in seperate HTML pages so that they can be changed into different languages at a later date.

I am loading these captions (HTML pages) into <iframes> on the page.

So far so good..... however...

I need to be able to get flash to load the HTML pages into the <iframes>, in certain points within the animation.

So... Does anybody know how to get Flash to load HTML pages into a seperate HTML page?

I'm guessing getURL is used somewhere, but I don't know the exact code.

HTML Code In Flash To Load An HTML Page In A Frame
Hello.

I have an existing website built in html, with three frames. One on the top for the banner, one on the left for navigation, and a larger window to the right of the navigation for the main content. I want to replace the content in my navgation frame with a flash built navgation menu, and when my menu items are selected, it will load a new page in the content frame.

I currently have this working fine in html. I can make my buttons link to a URL no problem in flash, but how do I tell it to load the content into the other frame? I haven't started this process yet, and figured I'd ask first to get any ideas.

I was wondering if someone could help me out in creating these flash ads that appear out of nowhere. I see them mostly on rediffmail, yahoo and about.com.
I know how to create a popup window on button click, but how you do that without a button.

There's another dimension of ads nowadays. They are the transparent ads. They really look cool. Could someone with this knowledge pleeeeeeeeese help me out. I urgently need to create these ads.

Script To Close Swf Thats In An Html Webpage
Hello, I'm new to the forum here and I have an actionscripting question. I've browsed around the forum for my question and there are a few relating but their were no solutions pertaining to my problem.

I'm building a swf alert banner, which pops-up when the webpage is loaded
and the it has a close button, so the user can close the alert and see the
page normally after.

Since the swf is in a html webpage I can't use:
on(release) {
fscommand("quit", true);
}

Since that command is for flash projecter (swf, exe)

I also don't want the browser window to close so I don't want to use:

Get URL ("javascript:window_close()")

I just want the flash to dissapear after the user closes it. Any help?
Do i need some javascript in the html or there's any actionscript that can
close it?

Trying To Load External Resources Into Swf To A Webpage
Hello all,

I have created a swf program which reads data from xml, loads images from a folder.
The program works fine if I just open the swf file or dragging it to IE/Mozilla.

However, when I try to embed it in the webpage, I get an error stating "swf cannot access local resources".
Is there anyway to solve this?

Ok, I want to be able to read the text off of a website's html and put it in a variable.
This website does not offer xml RSS feeds and I have no control over how its data is presented.

I had planned on doing this:

Can You Preload An Embedded Swf In To A Html Webpage As You Would An Image?
I am creating a site for a client, www.idsvehicles.co.uk

I want to preload the embedded swf's as you would images using javascript or css. I have so far been unsuccessful. I am trying to avoid having the great big white patches in the site while the menu or stocklist(on the stocklist page) load, and id prefer not to have a loading bar while it does. If possible id like to have all images and swf's loaded and cached before the page is displayed so it appears seemingly instantly. Is this possible?

I first attempted to do this with a standard image preloading javascript and failed. Is it at all possible to preload swf's with javascript, if not what are my options?

Load External SWF In The Same Webpage But Different Location In The Page
Hi , i'm buikding a webpage and I have a SWF showing a map with several cities on it, each city is in fact a button with AS-

loadMovieNum ("mycity.swf", 2);

The problem I'm having is that opens in the same swf window, I would like to know what kind of AS to use to get opening -swf2- in a different location of the same web page. this is mostly to better use webpage layout since the combined -map and swf2- would be over 900px.

Reading Current Webpage - Load Variable
I'm trying to devise a script that can read the page from which the swf is being loaded from...

So for example if i had a flash avatar or a flash signature on this page... it would be able to read data from this page. However the issue is that i will not have the current adress of the flash placeholder and it is often PHP generated.

IS there some way of doing this? I'm basically trying to get a certain session id from the html generated by the PHP where the current flash file is embedded.

Any help would be appreciated.

How To Publish So The Movie Is Cached In Browser, And Can Load A New Webpage?
At the end of my movie (10mb) I have this code assigned to a button:

I published the movie with the 'local playback security' setting on 'access local files only' and the button didn't load the page.

Then I republished it with it set on 'access network only' and the button works, but my movie no longer seems to be cached in the browser.

I have another button in the same place which is a 'play again' button, and sends the movie back to the start of the preloader.

If I refresh the movie at any point it has to preload itself all over again, which it doesn't do when set to 'access local files only'.

How do I make it so the movie is both cached, and can load a new webpage in the current window?
