Mac Compatability
Lo there,
I've just finished one work and published it to a projector file and swf. I've downloaded flash player to mac osx and installed it... when i try to open it, the exe file is oppened by power point... the swf does not play... any tip?
One more, i've created one autorun.inf that goes ok in pc... but in mac that should be different. Any tip on this?
I thought that i could do one file that could be read in both systems, but maybe i'm wrong. Any help on this matter would be awsome because i have till monday to solve this...
thanks in advance

How can I ensure that an MP3 file and swf cartoon will play in Netscape without forcing a ‘download plug-in message‘ from Netscape on the viewer. This is happening on Macs that have all the latest plug-ins. Not sure if it’s hapening on PC’s in Netscape.
No problems in Explorer.

Mac Compatability Problems?
Hey,
For some reason when i attempt to run a script i've made in flash to convert numbers from base 12 to base 10, it works fine on windows, yet when i attempt to run it on a mac it breaks and gives some random number. As far as i'm aware the logic of the coding is fine, but i was wondering if it might be that the flash player for the mac might have somewhat differnet math issues...

PC And MAC Actionscript Compatability
Ive created an interactive menu whereby people can view all my digital video works and so on. The main .swf file loads each video from an external file using the loadMovie function (this then load into a blank movie clip etc). All the files are then dumped to a cd and then you can view the movie from there. Now this works sweet on a PC, the problem is that it doesn't work on a Mac. The movie works, but the external swf files don't come up when they are called. So was wondering whether there is compatability issues when it comes to actionscript?

"Fullscreen requires 9.0.115.0 or higher. Click here to update."
Doing so goes throught the expected motion. But even after a complete reboot, the same message repeats.
What is going on here? Please advise.

Mx 2004 Compatability
I have posted this at the end of another thread but I thought I would readdress it with it's own thread.
I've tried the infinate menu several times, in the past it worked for me but now it doesn't??
I'm using flash mx 2004, and have a flashplayer 7 installed, but I also have MX with it's own flash player installed. I have a feeling MX 2004 is using the flash6 player, so dumped it. I never had problems with it until I tried using the infinate menu tutorial and script. I go to work and plug it into flash 8 and all is well so I know it's not my script, it has to lie in my player or something. here is what I get using the MX 2004
After I enter the first portion of the script and publish returns errors:
**Error** Scene=Scene 1, layer=Layer 1, frame=1:Line 3: Syntax error.
xcenter=150;
**Error** Scene=Scene 1, layer=Layer 1, frame=1:Line 4: Syntax error.
speed=1/10;
Total ActionScript Errors: 2 Reported Errors: 2
all the script is on the MC in the main timeline.
any help???
You wouldn't belive the amount of time I waisted trying to refigure the script, when there was nothing wrong with it in the first place.
=:-ohhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

Browser Compatability Issues
I have a .fla that some people I've talked to can't load the it. One couldn't load the site into Explorer 5 until the security settings on her browser were changed.
I can load the site and hear the sounds on my machine. But then I tried both Explorer 5.5 and an older version of Netscape. It wouldn't load in either browser, even when I took off the security. In the publish options there is a flash version option. I set it to Flash 6, and now I'm thinking of lowering it but not sure about the compatability.
Any thoughts?

Here's what I've found at macromedia:
Using Load Movie after the Get URL action
There is an issue involving Internet Explorer 4.5 on the Macintosh where a Get URL action, directly followed by a Load Movie action, will prevent the Load Movie action from working. This has been fixed in Internet Explorer 5.0 for the Macintosh.

Compatability With Flash Shockwave 6.0 R79

On computers that have upgraded the flash player to flash shockwave 6.0 r79, when the emulator opens it plays all the way through (ignors stop ();). By right clicking and selecting rewind the emulator goes to the begining and acts normally. Is there a fix for this? Do I need to change the publish settings. Most of the computers that view the emulator are formated with flash player 6.0. I do need the emulator to be compatible with both systems. Any assistance would be appreciated!

Flash/ Photoshop CS2 Compatability?
I was just wondering if anyone else had come across the same problem as me?
I am creating a portfolio using the XML gallery by Senocular... ahh yes, men too... However, I was preping the jpg's and creating the thumbs in CS2 (which I would usually do in photoshop 7 only I've got a CS2 trial running at the mo) and the images didnt show up in the flash movie.
I was wrecking my head all night last night and was close to tears from frustration. The new thumbs and jpg's wouldnt show up yet the older thumbs dione in v7 aswell as the jpg done in v7 showed up fine.
There were gaps in the row of thumbs where the cs2 thumbs should have been and and the loading did seem to be working fine (have a preloader added to my version for each picture) but the images just never shows up.
So its almost like they become invisible when preped in CS2 as opposed to v7.
Does anyone have an explanation for this? Or has anyone else encountered the same kind of prob??
really confussed!

Help With Flash 8/Director MX Compatability
Hi
I was wondering if anyone could help. I'm doing a project for college at the moment where I used the Flash 8 video encoder to bring some video files into Flash 8 and then added buttons to some of the frames in order to make it a bit more interactive.
I have to put all of my files together in Director MX 2004. Everything works fine except when i bring in the swfs which contain the video. The swfs will play as i can see all the buttons that i added in flash, however the actual video isnt visible.
Would anyone know what is causing this or how i can fix it?
Would appreciate it if someone could get back to me as soon as possible as the due date is creeping up pretty fast!!
Thanks a million

FlashPaper - Flash8/Flash7 Compatability
Developing an application in Flash that displays FlashPaper(v2), amongst a
variety of other content.
If I publish the app as Flash8, FlashPaper works in Projector mode, however
in a Browser appears to load the FlashPaper object (FP grey banner appears
for a second or so), but never displays the FlashPaper content. This is true
for IE7, FireFox, Safari, and Netscape, so doesn't appear to be a particular
browser issue.
If I publish app as Flash7, FlashPaper works in Projector mode, and works in
Browsers listed above, but app breaks for other specific Flash8
requirements. So it is not an option for me to just publish as Flash7.
Has anyone come accross this issue, and are there any known updates/fixes
for the problem. (Have searched over most forums and KP's without any
success).

Flash Player Audio Format Compatability
I'm working on a web site which will host Quicktime movies of an instructional nature. For organizational and aesthetic reasons, I'd like to use a flash-based media player w/ a playlist to present these videos, and because the nature of these videos deals with audio production, the audio cannot be compressed; i.e. it must be 16-bit 44.1KHz (or better) PCM audio, not AAC or mp3.
The problem I'm having is that none of the flash-based media players I've tried will play uncompressed audio. In all three of the players I've tried, AAC and mp3 audio work fine, but uncompressed PCM audio does not. It doesn't matter if the audio is embedded in a QT video or is a standalone file; only compressed audio can be heard. If a video has a PCM track, the video plays back silently. If I try to include a .wav file in the playlist, the file is just skipped over.
Is there something I'm missing? Does Flash player not support PCM audio? Is this a function of the particular players I've been trying to use? i.e. does PCM audio require some special coding? Or is this something inherent in Flash player?
Thanks,
-Dan.

Flash Player 6 And Flash 2004 MX Compatability
Hi,
I have a quick issue with Flash Player 6 and Flash 2004 MX. I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this problem? And if so, is there a resolution?
I pretty much followed the Actionscript 3d Cube tutorial to the tee and published it using Macromedia Flash 2004 MX. I view the movie with Flash player 7 and everything is fine. My problem is when I get to work, the cube does not show at all. The only thing that I can identify is that the player at work is version 6. I cannot update it because of permission issues.
When I bring up the Actionscript 3d Cube tutorial at work, the sample DOES show the cube rotating. I'm believe though that the work was created and published using Flash MX or older.
Now as a programmer, you must understand that I would like the movie to be viewed under both versions. Can someone tell me how I can solve this problem?

Flash Player 6 And Flash 2004 MX Compatability
Hi,
I have a quick issue with Flash Player 6 and Flash 2004 MX. I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this problem? And if so, is there a resolution?
