I’m trying to make a notebook in flash where you can type in your note and ad pages by clicking a button and that the pages are numbered automatically. I also want to be able to ad a picture to the note (if it isn’t too difficult).
I appreciate any help on how to do this. Maybe there is template for this that I can download and just change the design.
I use flash 8.

FlashMX Notebook Keyboard Problem - Help Please
- I recently installed FlashMX (english version) on my old Dell Inspiron which runs Win98 (german version) and has a non-US keyboard
- according to the keyboard layout, in order to get the "{" symbol in the action script window, I have to type "Alt Gr 7", but when doing that, the left side of the action script window, where one can display the line numbers, turns blue (as when you mark something) but no "{" symbol appears; changing to US or other keyboard layouts doesn't work, neither does changing language or time-zone settings
- "Alt Gr 0" for the "}" symbol works fine, as do all other keys, and in fact "Alt Gr 7" for "{" works fine in all other applications except for FlashMX
- since the "}" symbol is used in practically every other line of code I would be really grateful if someone could help me in this matter

Best Laptop/notebook For Multimedia Development
I'm shopping for an ideal laptop on which to run Macromedia Director, Flash, Dreamweaver, etc. plus Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator I also do a lot of digital video editing. I'm looking at the Gateway 600X and the Dell Inspiron 8500 as the basic hardware (maxed out in the areas of speed, RAM, and HD storage space), but neither of these two notebooks have received more than mediocre reviews. Is there a better brand or model that I should be checking out?
How To Make Flash Make Html Page Return To Top?

I created a website which contains a verticaly large flash movie on it which displays information. In order to read the bottom half of info, the user must scroll down the page. I was wondering if anyone knows the code to make a "return to top" button in flash which would send the html page back to the top without reloading the actual page itself of corse. Hello people, long time since I posted here.
Well, I started checking this issue today, about how to put a flash banner in the index page of a site. A flash banner that makes himself big, covering one half of the screen, then it makes himself small in a corner ('bout a tenth of the page, 1/10), leaving the rest of the page to display text. What I'm trying to do is make a big flash animation cover half the page, then, when its over, to make itself small, and leave the rest of the area to be used for text.
I think that this can be done with dhtml and flash, also using some properties of flash to make the background of the flash transparent. I found a tutorial of using dhtml, but it didn't explain nothing at all, or for beginers.
Any one knows where can I find this information/tutorial?, or how can it be done, so I do some research on that.??

Logging In W/flash And Php/ Can't Make Flash React To Imported Variable.

I have been trying to use flash as a front end to a php database. So far, I have succeeded in using flash to 1) register an account, which consists of username, password, and 2) succeeded in using flash to login to the database.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to make flash respond to logging in to the database. I can successfully send variables from the login.php to input text boxes, but I cannot use those same variables inside an 'if' statement to cause profile.swf to load into _level1.
I am certain that the problem is with my actionscripting, and not with the php.
What is going on:
Inside index.swf is a MC at _root.login that contains the input text boxes, a dynamic text box (_root.login.lstatus) and a button which successfully passes username and password vars to login.php.
login.php successfully passes variables to flash via this code: echo "&login.lstatus=logged in!&go=1";
What I am trying to do:
I'm trying to use the var "go" to instigate the loading of profile.swf into _level1.
On frame 2 of index.swf (which is at _level0)

Make A Flash Banner Clickable Externally (not Inside The Flash)
Hi,
I have flash banners (just graphic with no url hard-coded).
I wanted to make it work with openX ads system but it seems to be able to replace a URL only if there's already some URL hard-coded in there (and not if it's only graphic)
At the moment i can't edit the flash (my flasher is away for 2 weeks and i have only the .swf) and i must make it work somehow meanwhile...
How can i make it work (maybe html code banner with a param something that make the whole banner clickable with a URL - is it possible) ?
Or some JS or other HTML code that make it possible to set a URL i want the banner will link to without editing the flash itself.

How do I write a formula to adjust my guys head so when he goes "left" or right, his head is thinner, (like your looking on him sideways)
and when he goes up/down, to be bigger so basically

How Can I Make A Startdrag And Stopdrag Actioned Mc Make A Sound?

I need help on this one. I have used the start and stop drag AC for pulling a sword in and out of its sheath(holster). Thats all it has to do. One problem is that no matter how hard i try i can get the sounds to match up with it. I wanted for the sounds to play everytime the user puts the sword in and everytime the user takes the sword out. how can I do this?

How Do I Make Something Not Tab In Flash?
I am trying to figure out how to make certain buttons and links in Flash with ActionScript commands assigned to them not be selected when you use the tab key? I have read that this can be done by making setting the tabEnabled to false for each item. Does anyone know how to do this or the ActionScript to make the tabEnabled false?
Can Flash Mx Be Used To Make A Dvd
I've been asked by a friend who owns a bar to make a DVD Which he can play in his in-house DVD player and the result will be displayed on all the screens around the pub.
He want's his promotions, upcoming nights, coming soon acts, upcoming sky sports games on the dvd. What he would like is a movie file of say one hour which will display each of these pages in sequence.
I am able to create each of the pages as seperate scenes but what I would like to know is if it is possible to link them all together, put them on a DVD and just press play to watch the movie.

Flash X,Y,Z;How To Make A 3D Map?
Ok i dunno how to really explain this.. so PLEASE bare with me here. Basically i wanna make a map for a text based MuD, and hopefully you know what a MuD is, its a text based "3d"(if you will) enviorment.
I want to make a map on flash for the game but the map needs to be somewhat 3D, it needs actionscripting to be flexible and handle a specific inputted map if you will.
Like heres is a small example, this all based on X Y Z coordinates.
100.100.100 would be the center of the "Map", 101.100.100 Would be one "room" to the right, 099.100.100 would be one room to the left. 100.100.101 would be one room up (X.Y.Z), 100.100.099 would be one room down (all these are judging from the nexus ofcourse, 100.100.099 would actually be two rooms down from 100.100.101).
Ok now im hoping your with me so far,
What i want to do is in the .fla file have a little spot where i can paste hundreds of lines nice and easy, can be in any format really cuz i can code a dif bot to convert my current format.
So like if i wanna paste a little map where you can move once in every direction from the center of the map, i could input it like this.

100.100.099
100.101.100
100.099.100
101.100.100
099.100.100
Now that should cover every room, or it could be in format like
100.100.100 100.100.101 100.100.099 (ect..)
I really dont care, i just want it to be flexible so that i can change the map in the MuD and just paste the conversion text into the editable flash file or a text file it reads, and when you run the true flash file it creates this map.. if you will..
I know this is prob very confusing cuz i dont know flash at all and dont know what to call this.
I just want flash to be flexible so i can paste in like the code above, and have it make a graphical map by itself once ran. Something like simple Squares, each square represents a room, so map code above (the XYZ thing) would be like a Center Square, with 4 squares around it, and one above and below it. To kinda show the user of this "MuD" where to go, and help them grasp the whole text based mud thing.
I'll be happy to explain it better just tell me what you dont understand specificly, and hopefully its not the whole thing.
So, recap, i wanna paste text into my editable flash document (cant remember the extension for the editable and the "final" lol.), and when it is ran, it generates a graphical display so you can better SEE the text map, the X Y Z thing. This "MuD" is an IRC MuD, it is NOT coded in flash, i want to make a MAP for the MuD so users can see more of whats going on. Aside from the flexibility part, where i want it to handle basically any size map i input, this is very simple.. least i should think for you guys, if you understand what im saying .
Later on after i can atleast get the map to display in flash, i want to make it so the user can scroll through it because the actual map file of the MuD is far bigger than shown, thousands of rooms (or coordinates if you will). So i want the user to be able to scroll a flat plane to see the map, go up a "level", and junk. But all that comes later, first i need to atleast be able to make flash graphically show the map format i pasted above, X,Y,Z.
Hopefully somewhere along this thing you can understand what im trying to do, if not tell me what part is specificly confusing you and i'll do my best to better explain.

I Trying to play around with flash MX pro.
I made some buttons that I wanted to go to a label name in the scene.
But in the new one, it is not the same as in the older version of flash mx.
IN the old one i whent to action and puched (or relese goto and play labelname) and that worked ok.
But in the new one that command is not there.
Is any of you familur with the new flash mx pro, and if so pleace help me i am stuck.
