Make The Browser Scroll Bar Scroll A Flash Text Box?
Is there anyway that javascript can detect when and which scroll bar button is clicked? I want to use javascript to make the browser scrollbar scroll a flash textbox.

How Do You Make Your Browser Window To Scroll To Top?
Hi there, I am working on a flash site where the user scrolls down in their browser to view all of the content, the problem is that when the user goes to the next page of the site the browser is still scrolled down to the bottom and so they have to scroll to the top of the page to view the content they must read first.
Is there any way I can avoid this without using scroll bars in flash or is there a way i can reset the scrollbar of the browser the flash site is being viewed in?

Could Someone PLEASE Tell Me How To Make This Text Scroll?
i've tried a million different things on my own, and sought help here with no luck.... PLEASE, can someone tell me how to make this text pane scroll??.... and i can't use external txt files.
i pulled the nec. essential elements from my original file and created a new sample file that is attached. i just need the text that displays in the "info" panel to scroll so the user can read all info contained.
PLEASE help......this is driving me absolutely crazy!!

Can't Make Text Scroll
I'm something of a beginner to Actionscript, so I followed EXACTLY the directions in Learning ActionScript 2.0 in Adobe Flash to create scrollling text areas in my Flash site. The text does not scroll at all, and, on one of the pages, only one line of the text is showing up. Can someone help, please?

If you enter the english site and then click on 'biography' which is the photo frame you will see what I want to achieve.
There's a slider on the right hand side which you can move down or up to view the text. It seems realy smooth and just glides - if you get what I mean.
Can anyone point me in the right direction. Maybe a website with a tutorial for idiots or even book that I can go out and buy with really good examples on how to acheive this.
Any help/advice greatly appreciated.

Scroll Bar Show Up If Needed And Only Scroll To Dynamic Text Input Bottom... HOW
I have attached a copy of my scroll bar that i am currently using how can i make the scroll bar not show up unless needed (really not all that important but would be nice.)
The important thing is that i can setup a dynamic text box inside my item_holder movie clip but my scroller always scrolls to the bottom of the scroll box not matter if inside my scroll box i have on line of text loaded dynamicly or i have 100. So if i have 1 line of text and a large dynamic text box the scroll bar will scroll to the bottom of the scroll box even though it only has one line. See attachment and see if anyone can help. how can i make a text scroll work in a swf file loaded in another swf file...for example i have the index.swf, and the text.swf , this last have a text scroll,and i want the text.swf loads into the index.swf.with all working well.

[MX] How To Make Scroll Bar Text Fade In
Hello,
I'm trying to figure out how to make a text box with a scroll bar that fades in. I've figured out how to have text that fades in (I just converted it to a button...that might be cheating), and I've figured out how to make scrolling text (but I can't figure out how to make a scroll bar). But I can't get scrolling text with a scroll bar to fade in.

Can't Seem To Make A Simple Scroll Text...

I'm trying to do a simple scroll text in Flash, but with or without components it doesn't work. The idea is to have a scroll text that will change according to the menu item that is pressed. Ok, I made a movie clip that has a dinamic text and 2 buttons - I adapted this from a fla file. The text is to be imported from a txt file. So, in the main scene ( where the effects are, etc. ) I placed the movie in a new layer. In another layer, called actions, I wrote the code:

I test the movie and although the text area has the ID name of the variable in the intro.txt, nothing happens.
In another try, I used the ScrollBar component. That worked; only, when it reached the end of the timeline ( at least I think that's the reason ), the Scrollbar would return to the initial state as for the text...
I'm really a newbie in Flash - even if the effects I was able to create surprised myself. I think my problem is not understanding movie clips and timelines ( as for scenes ).
Please, can someone help me out?

How To Make Text Scroll Smoother
Can anyone help me make my dynamic text box scroll smoother? My Flash document is set at 30fps and I use the 'onEnterFrame' method so surely the text should scroll smoothly?!

Linking Text Buttons In Scroll To Image Outside Scroll Area

I have created a flash area that is divided up with an image on top and a scroll area under.
I am trying to get the text buttons in the scroll area to each change the image above and cant seem to get it to work because of the masking.

Make Text Scroll While Mouse Pressed
Hi all,
I couldn't find anything in this issue,
I'm trying to get my text filed to scroll the text while the mouse button is pressed,
instead of pressing it one time after another.
I want it to be control like a normal scroll like in the system (Windows/OSX)
i did the part of reduce and increase the text.scroll to +1 and -1 and the text is moving good but like i just said i want it to scroll all the way up or down until the mouse button release.
I've tried if() and while() and i get errors all the time.
i hope someone can help me on this

Scroll Browser From Flash
I would like to have a button in flash, when clicked to makes the browser scroll to the top of the flash movie.
I have a flash movie that is 1600 pixels high. So when the movie moves to different frames, I need to have the top of the movie be shown automatically (verses showing the bottom half of the movie which might be blank).

I want a background MC, height [20], width [screen-width], yposition bottom of the Browser window.
When the visitor scrolls up or down the Browser, this background clip should always stay on its fixed yposition, at the bottom of the Browser.
So on Scroll it would permanently update its yposition.
Is this possible?

I Found A Great MC Scrollbar, Now Help Me Make It Scroll Dynamic Text Too.
I found this great draggable scrollbar that scrolled an MC. It works like a charm and is very snazzy. What I would like to do is have the same daggable scrollbar on my dynamic text fields. Is this possible, and if so, what in the script below would I have to change??

IE Browser Issues With Flash Scroll
I built a scrolling image for the front page of a site. On my Mac IE it's fine, on my Dell IE 6.0 I get the first 6 images coming in as streaks, on my PC at work, IE 6.0 it's fine. These are all the same versions (or so I think!) of IE yet it displays differently on some....blurring the first 6 images. Any help is much appreciated....the page is on my free web space for testing:

im fairly new to the whole flash thing, i can do the really basic stuff...
but theres one thing i cant get my head around...
on the site i am creating, i have a menu (6 buttons vertical)
on each button click it loads a different page...
i have the pages set to scroll in from the right in a movie...
what im wanting is that so when u click a different button (for a different page) it will scroll the page in view out again...and then sequencially scroll the page in question in...
(am i making any sense)
ive looked all across the forum and cant find anythign remotely relating to what im after...and also tutorials/user uploaded movies etc on this site and still nothing...
i know its possible because ive seen it done else where...

Flash Movie Size And Browser Scroll Bars
I have 2 flash movies. The background.swf is simply a background that has been set as 500pixels wide and 100% high. I am loading the main.swf flash movie ontop of the background.swf. Now.. here is my problem. When the browser is resized, I want the browser to recognize the dimensions of the main.swf instead of the background.swf because the browser only shows the scrollbars when the window is resized to a size smaller than 500pixels wide, ignoring the height since its set at 100%. I want the scroll bars to show up when the browser is sized smaller than the main.swf movie size which is 500px wide and 700px high.

Full Browser Flash & Minimum Height Scroll
I've got a full browser swf, and it's working fine across all browsers. However, for the folks still running 800x600, some of the lower content on some pages gets cut off,.. as expected. My goal is to set a minimum height and minimum width so if someone shrinks their browser window to a smaller height & width the browser scrollbars will appear.
So far I've been able to get it to work in everything but IE (pc). I've tried using css's min-height and min-width on a div containing the flash object. It works great... but IE and Safari don't support that. So I tried the table method found here: http://cms.beaver82.com/ and it doesn't work either. They must be using some sort of specific function inside the .swf??
So, if anyone has any ideas.. it'd be greatly appreciatted. Thanks in advance!

Dear Flash Guru:
I have decided to create a vertical scroll-bar showcasing pictures that I had taken. At the same time, I would of liked for people to see each picture individually in a separate window browser once they clicked at that certain picture for a much closer detailed look. I thought at first I had figured it out, which I sort of did, but not to my advantage. The first thing I did was arranged all my pictures vertical and then added a masked layer and final a scroll button which worked perfectly. But in order for the scroll bar to have worked, I grouped all the pictures and made it into one big clipmovie.I decided to do it separately afterwards when I realize that I couldn't convert each individual picture into a button. Now, I have no idea what to do and if I separate them the scroll bar won't work. If you can help me I'd appreciate it very much.
It Possible To Reposition On Browser Scroll?
I have a flash file thats 1200px tall. When loaded into a browser many people have to scroll up and down. Well is it possible to reposition a movieclip inside of that flash file based on the browser window itself is scrolled?
I have something I want to stay in view at all times and when I scroll down it goes out of view.
The flash file is not resizing and cannot resize.

FBF Using Browser Scroll If Swf Is Too Small
Subject pretty much says it all. I've been around the internet a million times looking for this answer. I've seen some sites pull it off so i know it can be accomplished.
Right now I have a FBF that uses a scroll code (written in Flash) if the window is smaller than the specified height. The only problem with this is that if the user is on IE two scrollbars appear that would indefinitely confuse the user, even tho the browser scroll is disabled.
I want to know how to use the browsers own scrolling to enable once the flash is below is below a specified height/width ( the flash move file size ).
Any ideas? Comments? Every answer is apprecited.
