does anyone know who this working? I was discussing with my friend, I guess the way it works is that every single letter is separated by a single text box, and every single text box contains 26 of alphabet and necessary symbols, so when users type the msg, it'll go grab the proper letter from its own array., BUT! I can't see any flaw when the butt is moving, doesn't it suppose to move a little little bit in different speed between letters and the butt? but it moves just so~~~smoothly, anyone please tell me what's the concept of this thing, THANK YOU VERY MUCH and Happy holidays!!

Circular Preloader - Merry Christmas :)

Here is a little circular preloader I made for a project today.
I thought it was pretty cool, so I made a separate fla file for it. I figured people here would be interested.
This uses the Drawing API and MovieClipLoader class to load a JPG (could also be used for swf).
The MovieClipLoader Events dont all get activated when previewing the swf inside flash, so you must view it outside of flash to see the loader work.
The code could be changed to use loadMovie instead, but I prefer the newer class (although it does require player 7).
note: the FLA is an MX2004 File

Help With Merry-go-round Of Spinning Images Tutorial
i'm trying to recreate the merry-go-round of spinning images tutorial from http://www.kirupa.com/developer/acti...ra_panning.htm - however, i'd like it so that it doesn't spin until i click on a panel, and then that panel gets brought to the front and stops.
i've been looking all over the internet for the last week and haven't been able to get any help at all - i found an OLD .fla off the site with the exact thing i'm trying to recreate, but that file was corrupted and wouldn't open in flash.
please help - i'm desperate and exhausted from searching!

3d Spinning Images - Merry-go-round Effect
Hi
This is my first post and wanted to say what a great site, i found the above tutorial and wanted to know how i would go about adding different images to the panes instead of having the same image repeated.
Any advice/help would be great!
I've added the below bit of actionScript from the page that i think i have to alter but don't know how to..

Xmas Advent HELP
Hi i want to make a christmas avent calendar with flash. but i want to restrict the flaps on the calender so users can only open them on the right day. e.g. pretend it is the 1st of december i want the user to be able to open the 1st flap on the calender but not the second until the 2nd of december and so on.

SNOW FIELD For XMAS
I wish to create a looping snow field, with snow flakes falling down randomly.
I created a symbol conteining a single snow flake that follows a path layer. I dont wanna put manually the flakes on stage, but I wish to generate them randomly by Actionscript. Any idea?

Short Xmas Animation
I have been asked to do a short movie for a christmas thing. I thought I would be able to put something basic together, but it looks crap. I have searched for some other christmas movies and tried modify them to make it, but I cant get it to look any good.
The movie should go like this -
1. You see houses in snow, then you see santa and reindeers fly above them a couple of times.
2. Camera goes close up on a house and you see santa land.
3. Santa hops out and then climbs down the chimny
So if anyone feels like helping me out by making something basic, it would be greatly apprecitated, and if its good I might even pay a little something for it.

[MX] Xmas Drag And Drop
Hi Guys and Gals
Please could someone assist me in a fairly stupid game that my company wants me to make for them. I created one rubbish game a year ago and now they think I am some game making wizard
So here is the spec they want from me. First they want a xmas tree, which I have created. Then they want the game to be able to drag and drop one of 5 people onto the top of the tree (the people are our senior partners in fairy outfits ). I have all the people in their little fairy outfits ready for the top of the tree and I have read a tutorial on a simple drag and drop, my action script is below:

However they also want the game to acknowledge which fairy the player has selected (and planted on top of the tree) and a pop up box to ask them to input their email to vote for the fairy they selected, submit it and our marketing manager to then receive an email with what fairy they voted for......hmmmm LOL
Any assistance would be great in how to do this.

Flash Menu To DVD (TV) For Xmas
Hello all,
I have bean away from the family for a long time and I want to create a dvd that I can send to the family. I plan on spending about a month on animations and illustrations for this. I do know that some sort of flash is used in now days DVD menus. How can I use flash mx or flash 8 to build a menu. I would like to use flash as if I was making a website links sending to a dvd track.
Also side note if anyone knows how to use the tv remote for a controller as in dvd TV games. I do know this is only going to work with some sort of DVD publishing software but the game part isn’t my main priority. Just to build the dvd that can be ran by the controller with flash.
I cant afford many presents and being 2,500 miles away from home I would love to create this animated interactive dvd for my family.

Help With Paint Xmas Card.
Im working on a flash page that gonna have one page were you can paint your own xmas card and send it to a e-mail.
I know how im gonna do with the paint section except how to save the picture for email it after you have paint it.
There are gonna be textfields for e-mail it when your done.

Flash MX Books For Beginner - For Xmas :]

Im pretty new to flash mx but can see how much of an amazing program it is and thus would love to take my verrryyyyyy basic knowledge a lot further with the help of some decent teaching books.
Any reccomendations from anyone here?
Also looking for some Photoshop 7 teaching books if anyone knows about them
As i say i am new and only basic stuff but don't want a book that ONLY deals with the really basic stuff and leaves far too much complicated stuff behind

Belated Xmas Gift To The Board.
Hi,
I have just completed a fairly comprehensive movie that encompasses most of the parts of Flash that it is useful for a newbie to know, such as attaching clips dynamically, creating & using sound objects, using arrays & objects for storage, using the drawing API, using a collision detection script & generally the stuff needed in everyday Flash & game design.
Unfortunately, although the file was completed in MX2004 the coding is in AS1 as I'm yet to migrate (next project.) It should all still stand up in AS2 though, obviously after applying the new versions change of syntax, if you did want to rewrite it.
I'm sure there are a lot different & probably better ways that people will achieve what has been done here – but my aim was really to help those just starting off to get a handle on what Flash can do & how to do it.
The code has been “lightly” commented, but should anyone require any further help with it let me know.
Just a note on the movie – As it was really a coding exercise the graphics have suffered some what!

Automated But Personalized Xmas Cards

My Boss wants (isn't that all they every do?):
A Xmas card, that can be sent to our sales staff which they then can in turn customise with their personal message for their personal customers. So the actiual card with its animation, etc is the same for everyone, but the message is different for every card, and customer. Sales perosn X might write on his: 'Happy holidays, Bob, Hope your skiing is fantastic in Banf! X', the next one might write 'Seasons greetings, from your most dedicated sales rep!'
What we need to send to the sales people must be easy to fill in and handle. What goes out to the final customer must be only one link.
Has anyone done something similar before? I can't really think of anything immediate that doesn't involve at least some server side scripting, etc. (which I would not know where to start yet)
At the moment we have the ecard set up so it uses loadvars to load the content of a text file to fill it with a message, but I presume we'd have to start dealing with XML, databases and automated sending back of links?
Might there be a way of sending the text along as part of the link to the xmas card? But that doesn't sound terribly secure or elegant?
ANY ideas (even to say that it is impossible, or a very bad idea) very welcome! (Well,....)

[MX] How To Control Timeline By Date(makin A Xmas Calendar)?
Can anyone help please, i´m stuck...
What I need is a 2 frame movie which checks todays date, and if todays date is the same as defined for the movie it goes on to frame two, else it stays at frame 1.
It should also go on to frame two if the movies date has passed the actual date, so the user can see the passed dates.

I want to have a slow Speed of Rotation when the Mouse isn't over the .swf.
Something like a Start-Speed or MouseOut Speed. I am thankful for any hint.
Here's a Tip if you want to use diffrent Images in the Animation...
(Got it from flashforum.de) Each frame a diffrent picture.
Change theses Lines...
attachedObj = theScene.attachMovie("pane", "pane"+i, i);
attachedObj.gotoAndStop(i + 1); // Jumps from one Frame to the other (inside MC).
Works great.
