Mono Vs Stereo
I have some sounds in mono. I want those sounds to play in different speakers. I have used setPan but to no effect. Which i later figured out to be because they are mono. How can i turn these into stereo sounds so that i can use setPan on them.
e.g man on right of screen fires gun - bullet sound in right. man on left of screen fires gun - bullet sound in left.
I have looked at setTransform. But don't understand how to use it and where. Do I use it at start of game to set up mono sounds as stereo sounds. Or do I use it all the way through my scripting. (game this is for is at http://www.doms.150m.com/West_Stick.swf) - (any ideas on a name for the game?????)

Stereo Wav Not In Stereo In Flash Pls Help..
Hey Everyone,
I created a sound file in PT and exported it as a stereo surround file (voices can be heard in the right and left channels) and when i tested it in winamp in my headphones and speakers, it was exactly how it was supposed to be.
The problem came, when i imported the sound file into flash to synchronize it with my animation. I imported it to its own sound layer and it matches up with the mouths moving and the actions of the animation but i noticed that it smashes the stereo voices into mono! it makes it sound really crappy too because it wasn't setup to be mono.
Why does Flash do this? Am I not marking a certain setting? Am I importing the sound wrong? Why doesn't it play like it plays in winamp? I don't understand why it would change..it should stay in stereo if thats what kind of file it is in the first place...
Any help on this would be MUCH much appreciated..
thanx..
Stereo
I load a stereo file in and get a mono file out. Is there any way to keep my file in stereo? can I load two diffrent files (L and R) to play at the same time. Any input would be nice
ActionScript For A Stereo
I wanted to setup a mini-stereo on my site that would have:
-play, stop, next track & previous track buttons
-song title
-an equalizer movie clip
Whenever the stop button is hit, I want the equalizer to go its first frame (off position).
Can someone please direct me to a tutorial or some tips?
Thanks for the help!
Exporting As Stereo?
Jeez... who'da thought it was this hard! Or maybe I'm just stupid... REGARDLESS... I can't seem to figure out how to export the flash movie as a stereophonic file. Like: it's all fine and dandy inside flash--I can edit an audio clip of a guy running ... first panning it hard left to hard right... and therefore simulating this guy running from left to right of the screen. BUT... when I export that, it converts it to mono... so PLEASE!!!!! someone tell me how to do it? is it as simple as getting the exporting settings a certain way??? or do I actually hafta deal with actionscripting (I read a lil something about soundset.transform ... but I hope action scripting aint the only way... ) and I hear there's someway to export it as a mono file, while still maintaining these stereophonic qualities (i.e. panning from left to right) ... so PLEASE!! instruct this hapless fool... tell me what to do!
Car Stereo Interface
Hello all, I work for a fairly high end automotive radio supplier, and there is some debate as to whether Flash or Flash Lite can be used within an car audio system. The system contains radio, navigation, jukebox, bluetooth, and a myriad of other features. But the system lacks the subtle nuance and crisp display features that Flash is capable of displaying.
The Question is: Has anyone in this forum heard of an OEM using flash in their radio design? and if not, is there a consensus regarding the feasibility of such an interface? I am primarily a front end designer, and am working on a simulated interface to pitch to my superiors, but if it's not yet possible (as we all know it someday will be) I can shelve my work and wait for the prime shot.
Thanks for all suggestions and shared knowledge.
Stereo Sound On Export Swf
When I export my swf to Dreamweaver for a music site and test it in Safari, the mp3 sound has been changed to mono and the sound quality is poor.... so I looked on my export settings and It won't let me use stereo for mp3s..... I'm still using MX 2004.... is any version of Flash stereo compatible? Or any other suggestions how to get stereo mp3s into my site besides just embedding them in the page?

Stereo 3D Image Creation (using 3D Glasses)
I have a cient who would like a simple animation in 3D, the kind that requires the red and blue glasses of old. I understand the concept of how it is created, but not sure how to do it in Flash. Has anyone done this before or know how it can be done?
Thanks, Darren
Don't Convert Sound To Mono
I have a short sound on the timeline that I want to play back in stereo. Seems like Flash is converting it to mono even though the sound setting on the keyframe says it's set to 44khz stereo at 16 bits.
But in the publish settings, no matter what I choose, it says mono and I can definitely tell it's playing back in mono.
How can I keep it in stereo?

Zoom Like Mono Crafts Menu...
I'm trying to code something similar to the scroll menu that you can see on the monocrafts web (www.yugop.com) but my problem is the zoom. The menubar is very large and if you scale it doesnt give the impression its zooming. If you move the mouse over the center of the screen and then above and below the scroll menu bar youŽll see its a perfect zoom...
Are there any way to make a zoom, and not a simple scale?
Hope anybody understands what i'm trying to do...
Thank you very much anticipately,
Phasor

Seek To A Particular Location For MONO Sounds Not Working In AS3
Hi Guys,
I am facing an issue seeking to a particular location for MONO sounds with sample rate 22KHz. Another thing I observed was that there is a problem seeking to positions greater than half the total length of the actual sound, otherwise it is working fine. I have been trying to test this in a browser.
Any ideas or thoughts will really help me.
Cheers,

Bug In Flash? Mono Sounds Can't Seek Past First Half (and Report Sound.length Wrong)
I'm working on an mp3 player in AS3 and I just discovered what appears to be a bug in the Sound class when loading mono mp3's. The "length" property is reported as twice the actual length while the file loads. The moment it's complete, the length property snaps to the correct value.
Also, even after the file is completely loaded, it is impossible to seek to anywhere past the halfway point of the audio. This means that if a user "pauses" the audio and then hits the play button again (anywhere in the second half of the file), it won't actually play.
I found a post about this from someone on this forum back in 2005, but it doesn't seem to be resolved. I've been specifically testing 22khz mono mp3's. 44khz stereo ones work fine, so my guess is that it has something to do with Mono.
Can anyone help? I can post examples and source code if necessary. Thank you! --Ben
