Hey all I want to make a menu where you can choose which song to play. I've made some menus and I've putten this on a button:
on (release) {
}
But what should I add now? I want it to play a midi file but I dont know what to type there. Can anyone help? Thx.

Can I Loop A Specific Section Of Music In Flash After The Music Intro Plays?
Hi! My question involves looping audio in flash. I already know how to make a section of audio in an audio-editing program that loops and make it loop continuosly in Flash. What I would like to do now is take an audio clip that has an intro section and a "body" section and after the intro has played, loop back to the beginning of the "body" section continously. I assume it would involve sending it back to a specific millisecond?
Anyway, can anyone help me out with this one? Or is it even possible?

Display Music's Details As The Music Playing?
Hi
I saw something similiar at Flashkit - Sound FX, when you click on it, you would be able to play the music yet at the same time, display the music "detail", when the it high tone, the display go up high when the tone is low, the display go down?(Hope im not wrong in describing it)

Preload Music And Fade In Music
Hi, i'm looking for a script that preloads my music. once it's loaded it should start playing the music with a fade in.
Anybody can help me with this. My actionscript-skills are very poor.
This is the code that i'm using for the moment, without preload and fadein. It uses a random of 3 tracks.
Loops = new Array("track01.mp3","track02.mp3","track03.mp3");
choice = random(Loops.length);
mySound = new Sound();
mySound.loadSound(Loops[choice], true);

I have another question here about making a player for music in flash. I am making a Player and know how to do everything but the volume. I know how just not the way i am doing it. Is there a way to control the volume of the sound if i am loading from the outside. I am using LoadMovie action. Then it loads in different sounds. Is there a way that i can control the sound of that movie i loaded in but have it be universal, so when i load the next one the volume will control that one also? Thx for the help. two buttons, one plays a song but when pressed while playing wont start another song (so there wont be multiple songs playing at once), and one that stops the music.

Hey all,
Well I am still kind of a newbie even though I have been using Flash for half a year or so. But I havent used music so much. I have made a very nice menu and now I want to add music. I have been looking around trying to find help but I havent found anything. I was wondering how I can have a soundfile playing while someone looks through my site all in Flash.
I have about 6 different pages with info, and have placed the sound file on a different layer, but the soundfile starts in frame one, and frame ONE on the other layer with the info is my HOME, so everytime you click on the HOME button to go back home then the song starts to play again, so you hear the song mixed up as it keeps on starting. I have imported the soundfile as a .wav and then looped it to 900 times.
So... I was wondering if someone could tell me where there is a good tutorial on this or if someone could explain it to me. Maybe you have to put the sound file in a seperate SWF file and then just have an ACTION in the first frame saying : Play sound from music.swf or something like that.

Howdy all,
I have imported some backgruond music into my movie and used this actionscript to play it.
mySound = new Sound();
mysound.attachSound("music");
mySound.start("",999);
Pretty standard stuff. Under "linkage" i have notice that I must check "export in first frame" or my sound wont play. Exporting into the first frame messes with my preloader.
Anyone know how to export into any other frame but the first?

Hopefully someone can enlighten me in what i am trying to achieve. I have a mute/unmute button on my home page as well as other pages. If the user makes the choice of muting the music and goes to other pages throughout the site, how do I control the music to be off on all the subsequent pages? The site is not all Flash, just some navigation and the music button. i've noticed plenty of sites out there that accomplish what i am seeking to achieve, just don't know how its done. Unfortuantely right now the site is password protected so I can not disclose the URL. Any response is a help!

Hi all,
I am in the process of creating my website. I want to create a music section for my website. The tracks i want to use in website are fully blown mp3 files and the average size is 4.0 MB. I know this is high size file. What i want to do is cut down the file size by editing the .mp3 song so i can place many of my favourite tracks.
Question?
Is there any software that can allow me to do this?

MP3 Music, I Don't Get It...
Hello all,
I have a MP3 file that I want to use as "background music" for my upcoming website. It's kind of a large file: about 3.5 MB. I tried to make it smaller by making it a SWF file, but the size remains te same! I can put it to "fast" or "best" quality, or to "64kbps" or "160kbps", it just remains the same!
How are other websites managing this? I mean, take www.b7ven.com for instance. It has several musics on it, and they load fast + they are in stereo and all that.
What must I do to get the same result? I think I need some kind of special preloader for this. How does it work?
Or how do I make a MP3 smaller without changing the quality too much...

I have made a movie that follows a song the frames match perfectly in the Swish program but when I export it to a swf or any other form the frames run faster than the song. HELP!!!!!!!! I have worked several days on this and it looks great in Swish but it won't do me much good there.

Hey guys, nice forums you've got..
I've been trying to complete a forum signature that played music on mouseover. Well, I got that problem finished, but I'm having another one now.
Whenever I embed it into my signature, it shows up with a big white background. It still plays music when you put the mouse over the graphical piece of it. Just wandering what I can do to get rid of that background!

hey I made a site with a mp3 background music which is about 1.5 mb large. When I or someone else go to that site it takes kinda long to load, probably because it loads the whole mp3. Is there a way that it loads just the first part of the mp3 and that while the mp3 is playing it keeps loading? I know this is possible but I have no idea how or what it is called. Question:-) When you click onto a button in the sound controller it plays some music. What i've done is to load a movie clip into a empty clip by using loadMovie. It works fine but is there another way of doing this. Take a look of what i've done so far( Not much ).

Hi everyone...
I'm using an mp3 music file (about 200KB) in my movie using "Export for action script".
Therefore, I've made a new Sound object and I've attached that music to my Sound object. (The "Export in first frame" is checked)
myMusic= new Sound();
myMusic.attachSound("For Elese");
myMusic.start(0,5000);
Which "For Elese" is the name of the mp3 identifier in the export.
I have a problem coz' my first frame of my main movie (_level0 or _root) will become so big because of the exportation of the mp3 file! And that's awful!!!
I can't do anything to prevent my "first frame" from becoming so big!! If I uncheck the "Export in the first frame", then my sound object, won't play at all!
Can anybody help me???

I have a song in .wma format and Flash MX won't accept it, do any of you know of a WMA to MP3 converter?
I also have a second question. In all my movie's I have the sound and mouth coridination perfect, I upload to site and then the sound is off by like 4 seconds. Can this be solved by changing the options in publish? My webhost is down and I can't upload to see. I just thought I'd throw this one in before it comes back up.

I am currently working on a flash demo movie and would like to add 3 - 5 music tracks. I would like to have a button that when pressed will cycle through each of the different music tracks (like a cd changer would) one at a time. Hi,
I know this really haven't much to do with just flash but i
figured i'd ask anyway.
I have separated the sections on my site to different html pages,
that is, each section is a swf and has its own html page.
Now i need to have a consistent sound through all the sections.
How can this be done? Through javascript? Or is there any way
to solve this in flash?
To clarify, i need to play consistent music through several html pages.
