Flash :: Need Flash Designer To Create Party Banner

Invisible Button On Gnome Banner, Flash Tutorials - Create A Banner
Hi, I'm currently doing the flash tutorial that has three parts to creating a banner. I do exactly as the tutorial does, but I can't get the URL to open up. Everything is exactly the same as the banner, I even copied and pasted the banner and actionscript into my file from the tutorial example, but it still doesn't work.

Can anybody help?

Can I Hire A Flash Designer To Create A Navigation Bar, And Drop That Into My HTML?
I'll start by saying I know almost nothing about Flash, and I'd like to keep it that way.

I have a client that says he wants Flash. I don't know yet if he wants animation integrated with the design, the whole shebang encapsulated into a Flash file.

Or, maybe there's just one or two effects that he wants, in which case I can probably hire a Flash artist to do just that specific effect, then drop it into my XHTML.

So my question is, drum roll please, can I hire a Flash artist to create for me (for example) seven cool looking menu options, that when clicked load up another HTML page, like in a subdirectory. Each page would have the same nav bar.

I'm thinking there are probably widgets out there to do this (any recommendations?) but I think the client may want to pay extra for something sexy and original.

My other concern here, if this nav-bar works, I'm thinking I need to contact the Flash artist every time I need to add a new directory? If that's the case, then maybe a widget is more practical, because what if the Flash artist changes careers or something?

I jus started using flash and ive create many things for building this website but i find it hard that i have 2 do so much 2 create a simple flash banner with a small size so it loads quickly. My problem is with how one slide transitions into another i jus want it 2 fade out and in 2 the nxt slide smoothly which is pretty simple but i find i have 2 do alot 2 achieve this effect if there is an easier way 2 do this cud sumone tell me please!!! i have 2 put 2 banners on a website and i dont want the file size 2 b currently the 1 i did is 354k which i tink is a lil big.

How Do I Create A Link From A Banner
Not sure if Actionscript 2 is right, but I'm using Flash 8.

I created a banner that has 2 parts to it. It goes through one area for gift certificates, which I want to link to giftcert.php and the 2nd part goes through some more movements and such that I want to link up to sale.php

Everytime I try to add a url by on(release) or getURL, it gives me the same error saying:

**Error** Scene=Scene 1, layer=Layer 8, frame=1:Line 1: Statement must appear within on/onClipEvent handler

or

**Error** Scene=Scene 1, layer=Layer 5, frame=30:Line 1: Mouse events are permitted only for button instances

How would I correct this? (I'm an extreme beginner when it comes to Flash). Been searching Google, but dont know what to search for.

As far as I could guess, the creator made it in Flash, I m trying to make an equivalent Flex application, and here some problems I encountered :

- When press Generate Text button, I guess this application should make a new movieclip ( in Flash ) addEventListener to it,so it could be drag&drop, inside the movie clip was a Child of TextLabel with the fontFamily,fontSize,color depends on the combo boxes ==> So in my Flex application I tried to use the RichTextEditor Components, it worked great ( provide text/font/size/color selection ) but when I make a new button, say "Create Text" , I make a new label, but problem is that in programmatic API, Label wont have property such as fontFamily, fontColor, etc to be set with, so I only get the text by myLabel.text = richTextEditor.text, is there a work around ?

- When I use AS to change the rotation of the label, the label did rotate, but the label.text no longer display, =/, button reacts the same when I change the rotation, the frame would rotate without text inside the button frame, like always =)), is there a work around for it ?

I have a banner ad that i have created for a client. It has one big invisible button on it and the website that is hosting the ad has asked that i insert this code for the button.

Supplying Flash Adverts For 3rd Party Sites
I've been asked to create some ads to go on a site that specifies "Advertising requiring the use of plug-ins like Flash and Shockwave must utilize "sniffer" code to detect if the user has the required plug-in and display an alternate image if the user does not have it. ".

How do I do this? Are they expecting me to supply the HTML/Javascript that loads either my .swf or a JPEG? I would have expected the host site to have a site-wide function to handle that. What is the normal way of doing this?

Live Flash Streaming For 3rd Party Programme
Hi

I want to use a programme called Wirecast to produce a series of webcast television. My problem is that I want to stream h.264 as flash as it is the most ubiquitous platform on the web, and delivers the content in the quality that I desire.

The makers of Wirecast ( Vara Software) at present are only able to give me the option of the streaming in Real player. This is apparently because Adobe won't allow them to include the code to stream flash.

I know that I am not alone in the frustration this causes, and in fact I have held off purchasing the software package until it has the flash capability, even if that version were to have a premium added.

Could someone at Adobe please help me, is it possible that you could license your product to them?

I've checked out a few things online at Open Source Flash including SVG2SWF converters but conversion is typically restricted to Flash 8 and below...

Launching 3rd Party Apps From Flash While In Full Screen Mode
I was told that there is a script(s) that can be used to Launch 3rd party (ppt, pdf, etc) apps from Flash while in full screen mode. When the the 3rd party app launches, Flash window is reduced and after working with the 3rd paty app like saving a PDF document and when clicking on Flash app window it resumes to Full screen mode. Can some one point me to this screen.

FYI: if in full screen mode in a Flash app for CD-ROM, and if you try to launch a pdf document, it is launched in the background on then PC and in foreground on the Mac. Currently we use Director to control save frile from CD-ROM but sometimes it is a pain. Help will be much appreciated.
