I have a project that I just cannot take at this moment. I am on a pretty tight time constraint and need some help to complete this.

This is a paying project that needs to be done smoothly and in a timely manner.

Basically what I need is a card design application that allows a user to pick out of a set of pre-generated background images or import their own then the ability to add and format custom text on the front and back of the card.

After they create it, I would like the finished copy to be sent to a server.

ColdFusion Developer New To Flash MX
Yes, I am new to this forum. I am a ColdFusion application developer. I was a designer several years ago and then went into programming. The last time I use Flash it was version 4. I need to learn how to leverage Flash for my front ends and UI on my applications FAST. I also want to learn about the new XML read and write features of Flash so I can develop Desktop versions of my Web Applications that can be synched with the online DB version. Please help! I do not know where to start. I went through the help and tutorials with my Flash MX and they didn't offer much in the way of what I am looking for.

Hi all,

I just wrote the Flash Designer Exam. It was good. Very tricky lots of trick questions. I am planning to write my Flash Developer exam and am curious to know how many questions are on it?

I heard that their are 300 questions to answer in 60 minutes. Is this true? their where only 68 question on the Designer Exam.

I Am A PHP/MySQL Developer Using Flash - Have ?'s
I have developed a component for Mambo Open Source (A content management system) that displays an arcade of 5 flash games. The games write to a mysql database, and the component displays all the high scores, etc. You can see it in action at www.pragmaticutopia.com.

My problem is that when someone uses the component who has installed the software to a subdirectory, the high scores script doesn't work because I have directed the flash game to post to my PHP script using a relative URL.

I need a way to have flash use a full URL, but since this software is somewhat distributed, I can't just enter in the full name of a site, because it has to work for everyone.

So is there a way to have flash detect where it is and save that as a variable or something like that? Any other way I can solve this problem?

Flash Developer Needed
Howdy.

Built myself a website over the last month or so
in html with a bit of flash for the images and so
forth... Was quite happy with it until I viewed it
on a Mac... And it looks terrible, not like on a
PC and it makes me MAD.....

So..... Ive decided the only way to control how it
looks is to build it entirely in Flash.....

Which I dont have time to do.... So, does anyone with
the skills to make a fast loading site want to have a
look at my html site, and let me know what it would
cost me to have them make me a new site in Flash
based on that design? (Ill email all current flash
files/images/text, etc)

The reason I went html in the first place is becasue
i absolutely hate to wait whilst anything loads.. So
this needs to be considered!

I've never developed in ActionScript before but have a few years programming experience behind me so it shouldn't be a problem.

Before I purchase a licence I want to make sure I am using the correct product for the job so is Adobe Flash Pro CS3 Win the tool I should be using for this or are there cheaper alternatives?

Hi I just signed up with this community. Some good friends of mine who have been on here for sometime have showed me this site. Looks great.

Anyways back to the task at hand - I have been doing some websites and myspace accounts for sometime and I'm about to receive a major web job that i need a flash developer for.

Few things to know.

I only know Html, J.S., PHP, & Photoshop.

I know nothing about flash i have barely studied it but i do have Flash Cs3.

The Job

This old school very big R&B singer by the name of Chris Williams Needs his website. My company has already signed the job with him.

I need a flash developer to help design one of two styles.

1. www.t-mac.com (this style is more of a photo gallery style)

2. www.pdiddy.com (this style im not sure but it seems more flashy maybe easier)

Please review both flash jobs carefully and let me know which one you feel is easier. Once we get that far i will tell you which one he likes more.

DETAILS -

1- Remember that the artwork will be different and i will supply any photos and or ideas needed. Then once that is done of course you can put your own style to things.

2 - I need 6 flash action buttons incorporated into the design. Kinda like T-Macs website. If we go Pdiddys route it would be the same style just with only 6 link buttons.

3 - Remember this price and job is only to design the flash portion of the site and to make sure everything works so i can attach it into my html coding through Dream weaver.

4 - Keep in mind that you/ your company will be listed in the flash somewhere on the site where you will gain countless recognition for and possible outside web jobs.

WHAT WE CAN PAY FOR THIS WORK. (Note: keep in mind we would like to continue working with whomever accepts this first job. We will have more jobs to come).

Hi i would like to first say that Ive been referred to this community by some good friends of mine who have been here for sometime.

Well i would like to begin by saying that our company has recently acquired a major website contract for this big R&B Singer Chris Williams. I need a flash developer to design only the flash portion of the website in one of two styles.

The first style I'm looking at is

Could someone please clarify what the main difference is between the two roles? Am i right in thinking a designer simply designs layouts, games , comes up with ideas etc....whereas a developer actually does the coding for everything?

im creating a game, i have the ship in place and moving correctly. This is an empty MC, which places a spaceship pic in itself, depending on the ship the user chooses. The empty MC is moved around the screen via keys.

i am using 'key.isdown(space)' to place a laser beam instance onto the stage where the craft is, this beam MC moves itself up the screen and dissappears.

thats it in theory...

the following code is connected to the emptyclip(where spaceship appears):

I am trying to modify an existing FlashCard piece where a user can upload a photo and add text and save/send the flash card.

The modification i am trying to do is is add a permanent logo that appears
on the top layer of the FlashCard - as if it was a magazine cover.

Concept:
If you have a picture of yourself surfing in the ocean, you can upload your
picture and have it placed on a cover of surfer magazine for fun. This is the
basic idea.

Work accomplished:
I was able to add the magazine logo to the FlashCard by manually editing the XML
file of an existing flash card. I need to figiure out how to make this
automatically written when the FlashCard is saved.

(you can see my reference to the .swf that I manually put in their by
downloading the file, modifying it, then overwriting it.)

So we need to:
1) Modify whatever function is writing the XML so that it always writes an XML
line to pull in the logo (.swf).
2) User can change the colors of the logo.

Does anyone have experience with this modification? I am using the FlashCard because most of the fuctionality is there that I want.

With this FlashCard modification aside, what I am trying to accomplish in plain english is a user to upload a photo of themself, place the photo onto a canvas, have a magazine logo across the top which the user can select a color for the logo, the user can then save it and it loads into a public gallery showcasing the covers.
