Need Cool Transition Of Photos
Need Flash template or source file to transition one photo to another with a video effect in between. I'd like the photo on the left of the screen to transition to the right of the screen with a cool effect in between. Haven't been able to find anything in the archives. There's got to be an easy way to do this.

I think this site implements a cools transition effect between background photos, and was wondering how the designer achieved it. You can see the effect when the page first loads, and when you click "new picture."
I'm guessing it's some type of action script because the the main box dissolves away randomly each time.
If anyone has any idea of how to achieve this or could point me towards a tutorial, I'd much appreciate it.
Transition For Photos?
I am trying to learn how to do transitions between photos. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to have a transition work when the photos are not selected in the same order. For instance:
- Photo 1 is visible
- User clicks on icon for Photo 4
- Photo 4 loads with some transition on top of Photo 1

Gradient Photo Transition / Blend Effect Between Multiple Photos. How?
If you open up IE ( ), load the Windows Media Homepage, and click the little "right" arrow at the top, you'll see a nifty little image blend using a gradient. I believe that page is using Javascript to accomplish this, but I would like to do this in Flash MX.
Does anyone have a tutorial or a how-to for this effect? I went through FlashKit and Actionscripts.org and the best thing I could find was this. It looks nice and all, but it doesn't seem as fluid or stretched out as I'd like (per WindowsMedia example).

Need Cool Transition Help
Hi, I'm trying to make a photo gallery similar to http://www.vw.com/jetta/index.html - click on the photos tab. I'm using the loadmovie function to load in each image and would like a similar transition between loads. Not sure how to go about doing it. Would love some advice/tips. The project I'm working on is at http://www.graphicvisionsinc.com/Vis...ry/gallery.swf - scroll the window down some til the movie doens't looked so stretched, haven't formatted it into the page yet. Also, any tips on having a preloader between loads would be great too. I never really got the preloader thing down. Tried it with loadmovie before, and never got it to work. Thanks!

Cool Transition...how Do You Do It?
I everyone! I am making a quick flash piece for a company and they want a cool tranisition between pictures on their website. Does anyone know how to do this with actionscript but have it going horizontally. I don't have to use squares, I can use rectangles the length of the picture too.

Cool Transition Afterthought, Or Not?
I am still somehat new at this, so I have made a little mistake.
I have made an entire site, without the transitions being built in first.
I have thought of a way around this issue however, and I welcome feedback.
Put a dynamic text box (whose text is the same as the background) on the site somewhere, and add another 20 frames or so at the end of the movie and do a "loadmovie" there. Load up the transition clip in that area, I could even select a different clip depending on where the movie is going.
Place the name of my destination (which will be a label name) in the (effectively) invisible text box.
When the transition plays through GoTo the label, whose name was in that text box.
Has anyone got a better/easier method to reverse engineer a transition into a site, while maintaining navigatability???

I was wondering if anyone has an idea as to how it was done.
Also one thing I have noticed with their templates is that, the content for all the links is contained within the same flash movie. Nothing is loaded externally, but they are able to play the transition effect each time a link is clicked and the transition finishes playing before the content shows.
I have been trying to figure out how that is done, but I keep coming up against a wall and the only way I know how to achieve a transition effect is to have the content loaded externally.
How would I use the transition effects with all the content contained in one flash movie?
I will appreciate it if anyone can help me out.

Creating Cool Transition Effects With LoadMovie

Enter into the main page and use the buttons on the right to navigate. I'm trying to create a transition effect like this with my website after a button is clicked, and I can do it with loadMovie. The only detail I'm missing is how the guy who created that template makes it so that the buttons (when clicked) loadMovie of a new movie clip, but with the previous movie clip already in the background.
It's hard to describe, but basically I'm trying to make my page look less static. Let me explain with an example:
1. I click on "About" in the right navigation. The transition occurs, the box zooms in and the content flies in from the left.
2. Next I click services, and the transition occurs BUT the "About" content is still in the background, and the transition occurs over it.
Whenever I do loadMovie and use the same empty MC, the current content that is being displayed right before the button is clicked disappears and the movie that is to be loaded is loaded immediately.
I'm trying to make each transition load over the current content displayed.
Does this make sense? I'm trying to make as much sense as possible.
If anyone could give me some tips on how to go about this I'd appreciate it.

Transition Causing Colors To Be Off In Transition
I'm trying to recreate a transition/fade of an image from a flash file that I only have the swf to. It looks great on my box, but once live a viewed through Firefox, the colors get almost pschycodelic during the transition. I am using a tween between 0% alpha setting to 100% alpha, and selecting the blend to 'Hard Light'.
Has anyone else seen this and know of a work around?

Hello I am very new to this, so I hope I do this right. I am a student, with professors that are just there for the money, not to help the students, so i have a basic question. For a final project, we are making a photo album. I need to find out how if you click a button, that it goes to the next photo. I already have the button, and I am using flash 5. Hey how do you make it so when you open the site it reads the number of photos in a folder so lets say theres 10

etc etc
then displays them all in this fashion

the 5 +'s are photos and the arrows make them slide left or right revealing more.. and it keeps slideing untill it hits the last one and bam it slides no more hehehe. OH YEAH LOL these will be thumbs and when you clicked on them it would load the full size pic somewhere on the screen NOW if someone out there is nice enough to help me.. I can do a lot in flash **cant seem to get this lol** and i have a linux box with unlimited space etc etc so i will find a way to thank you.

the idea is to have 22 thumb. photos on a scrollbar that follows the mouse but only five visible at each time when clicked on the photo comes into a frame above the thumbs full size.

I have looked every where to find a simple photo gallery that loads the images dynamically. The images have a thumbnail then when clicked open larger. I will need to scroll these thumbnails because they will be many.

yes I know there are a few bits that need "adjusting" however the site is over a yr old and the designer can't be f00ked to do anything about it that is why i am here to ask about the following, as I have to do things myself now.
Altho i am still on f5, i am about to make the jump to MX, thing is I am looking for ways to make my portfolio more attractive........as u can see there is the "fruitmachine" effect between the pix, which aint bad, but i am bored to dfeath with it, esp. after 1 yr. Also I like the wipe in between things...........however i wish to move on therefor I am looking for "new" effects. Now I have been looking arround quite a bit but i can not seem to find what i am looking for.. mainly transitional effects between pix viewing.........
Does anyone know of good links towards this matter where I can learn a thing or two and apply them to me new site...........

Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to develop a photo gallery in flash...what i'm trying to do is....prevent from right-click save.....and basically...the photo gallery will have pictures lined up....and whenever the mouse rolls over the one of the pics...it displays bigger in a different part of the movie....

I don't understand...would it be best to create many small movies and interconnect them...for a site?
Or just create one big movie?

How To Keep Photos Smooth?
I posted this in general help but with no response so far. Perhaps they think I should know this so now I'll try the readers of this folder.
When motion tweening a photo, resizing the photo larger or moving it (in this case diagonally), on playback, there are "twinkling" pixels. I don't know if this is called some term, perhaps "crawling, but I tried a supposed fix for crawling which didn't work.
Any help truly appreciated.
