No Hosting Php Server And Form Mail
Questiono.I have transfered my site to a host where there is no PHP support. My sendmail still works perfectly from the original host, I have linked the email.swf to load from the old server (with PHP support) it loads fine, however the form data is not sent.I dont even know if this is possible to get working! Wierd - Mail Form Works But Not On Server?
Im about ready to tear my hair out here.
Its a simple mail form using my isps asp mailer script which i have attatched to a button.

Naturally the above is all on one line and does not contain errors!
The reason im sure it is error free is casue it works from within flash when you preview the movie (calls the script sends any variables and i get an email sent to my specified address), it also works when i publish the files and run it in IE from my desktop but when i upload it to my hosting provider and go to run it off the server - nothing happens!!! It doesnt even look as though its actioning the loadvariablesNum script as no data is sent via my connection.
Other than this the whole .swf file works fine off the server and i have even tried uploading to a completely different hosting provider with the same result - nothing happens.
Im hoping someone has experienced a similar problem and can offer some advice.

Data From Server Sent To Preloader Mc, Not Mail Form
This is probably a simple fix, but my mail form submittal hangs as the success response from the server seems to get intercepted by the preloader shim. The mail sends though. Any help getting this to work:

"preloader.swf" loads "site.swf" into a movie clip called "loadedMovie" where "form" is an element, of which the above code is attached.

Mail Form Movie Doesn't Communicate With A File Other Server
I got the mail form movie from this site that communicates with a .php file in order to send all the info the user has input to an email address.
Everything works fine when both files are in the same server.
The problem is that my client doesn't allow .php on his server so the best choice is to have the mail form movie on my clients server and the .php file on a server that allows php scripting.
I did practise that and changed the flash file to point to the new address where the .php file lies but with no success.
Is there an issue with flash files not being able to communicate with files on other servers. Is there a solution?

I am trying to make a flash file where you enter in information and then you click send and it sends the data in the form to my e-mail address. I tried customizing all of the cgi ones from the movies section of flashkit, and modifyied the cgi script accordingly. No matter what I've tried, I won't receive the information in my e-mail. hey everyone... I just finished most of a remake for bomberman. it's multiplayer and it works! I used electro-server 3, which was confusing at first, but now not too bad.

Getting The Time From The Server Hosting The SWF?
Can this be done?
The problem is trying to create a time/date stamp that is relative to the hosting server. The machines accessing the file do not have outward facing int-ER-net access, only int-RA-net access. So I can't get the UTC. I have to calculate it based on the server's location and it's relative UTC offset.
So I need Hosting-Server time, not Local-Machine time.
Any thoughts?

Will Pay For Help Getting Flash Server Up On My Hosting Site
I am very sick with Latent Lyme Disease and trying to start a chat room with Audio and Video. My subscribers can't type, so Audio / Video is essential for this room. We all have terrible arthritis amongst other problems from the Lyme Disease. I have Adobe Serve 3 MX and also Macromedia Flash MX. Either one will work. My site is hosted with GoDaddy and my chat room is up and running, but without the audio and video. Flash File Hosting Server?
I don't know if this is the right category to ask this in, but I think I need help to find a good file hosting server/website to save my swiff's in to show examples in a freewebs...
Reason is I made stuff in Flash 8 but my school's Flash is 6, and I cant show my animations to my teacher other than posting it on a freewebs or something "free" on the internet. I have around 14 animations, all varying in size and content (all different completely).
I uploaded all the files to filefactory.com but I don't know how to get a URL with .swf at the end to be able to embed my flash. FileFactory's URLs are all in numbers, different ones for each file and it wont work for this.
Any servers you guys use that I could use to do this?

Needing help. Trying to designa flash banner for a site with limited size (18k). Now. the file is MUCH bigger (120k or so), so we're trying to dynamically load in jpegs, or even swf files into the main base file.
HOWEVER, apparently now has a security issue that won't allow separate files hosted on a different server to load in. is there ANY way around this?

Flash Video On A Windows Hosting Server
Any one know why, on my client's server, my site loads well and plays the flash video I embedded, but does neither on my windows hosting server? is it a windows thing? It's wierd.

Well I've spent most of my morning searching for a resolution on this but you can only look though 500 posts for so long, only made it 8 pages in.
Anyway onto the situation, btw I do hope this is the correct place to post as it is an AS function that seems to die.
The Setup:
Webserver #1: Hosts front end shell of website, i.e. templates and static data.
Webserver #2: Hosts all dynamic data, this is where my XML (source for swf) and SWF are located.
The Action:
I'm attempting to add the swf, via the javascript method, into a template on Webserver #1. To be displayed on the front page.
The SWF:
Two frame file, frame one loads the XML content and frame two is the whole slideshow.
Is a slideshow of sorts. It has a next and prev button and has a randomizer for the first load. All data is referenced via one XML file, all url's, sources (src) and image names are contained in this file. Each "slide" is a clickable button that links to something related to that image displayed. In this case a Conference.
All links and sources are full paths i.e. http://www.domain.com/images/yada-yada.
It was exported as Flash Player 7.
The Issue:
I can get the swf to "play" it does everything it’s supposed to do, it loads the first slide randomly, the next and prev buttons work.
Except when you attempt to click the slide it doesn't go anywhere. It is registered as a clickable item but no action is taken.
My Thoughts:I'm able to run everything locally on my machine no problem.
I'm able to run the swf off the server, i.e. loading the swf directly in the browser, without problems it runs and click through like a charm.
But as soon as I embed it into a webpage on another webserver the click through stops working.
I was trying this all in HTTPS before as well, read some things that HTTPS screws with flash sometimes and I changed it all to HTTP with some hope but same problem

PHP Form-mail Being Recieved As JUNK-MAIL
hello, i'm having trouble with a PHP form-mail for flash that i grabbed from http://www.bigjolt.com
i tried contacted the dude himself, but no response.
the problem is that after the form clears, i recieve the mail
in my Hotmail 'junk-mail'
i tried adjusting my Hotmail junk-mail filter but had no luck.
plus if i email myself on the form, it should just be like emailng yourself through a regualar email client, which doesnt go to the junk mail box.
basically i need a PHP script with a flash-form thats easy to configure, and that also sends a custom message back to the user.

I created an online form using flash with multiple fields:

Everything works fine when I have the files posted in a Linux server. However, data is not passed when I have the files posted in a Windows box.
Can someone please tell me what I should do to get this issue fix?

I know that there have been dozens of posts regarding mail form problems. I've read over all of them, but haven't found anything to help with my problem.
I have a very simple mail form on my flash site, and am using a .php file to handle the information and send it to my email. It all appears to be functioning correctly, except I'm not receiving my emails.
I've checked with my server and they said everything appears to be in order, and it must be a problem with my script. I've done this many times in HTML, but this is my first in Flash. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I need to setup a CGI-style email submission (request info, etc) completely within the MX2004 pro environment--for a client.
I'm not completely fluent in AS2.0, but I can run with changing the fields and calls so long as the sample is not too complex.

Email Script For Lotus -mail Server?
Hi All,
Having an problem trying to email using mailto:name@address.com (using Get URL)
Since this *.swf is under a Lotus Server
mailto does not work at all.
Anyone know a way to update the action script in flash5 without having to setup a script on the server, to fit lotus client server / Gateway.

[F8]Error Responses From Mail Server Connection?

(I think this one is for the programming gurus)
Obviously I'm not a programmer but I manage to do some scripting for my basic ActionScript needs.
Anyways, here is my question:
Is there a way to tell if a flash movie was unable to connect to internet or to a server side file like a PHP file? how can I display an error log or something like that?
My case:
I created a publicity program in flash, which enables the user to send emails to the vendor of the add the visitor is looking at. It is a basic "loadVariables()" function which connects with a PHP file in my server, and mails the data to the corresponding email address of each vendor, just like a Mail Form.
The drawback is that I have no way to tell if each mail was successfully sent after the user submits the form, I just display a confirmation message that says "Thank you your message has been sent" within the flash program, but it displays even if there is no connection.
So what's the best way to retrieve a success/error log in order to create an array of messages to display within my program?
(i.e. I there is no connection>then display "No connection, please try later")

Sending Automatic E-mail, Server Side Scripting

I have made some simple forms. currently i have this code in the "send" button:

But, does any1 know how i can make it so that when the user clicks the "send" button, then the information in the forms is automatically sent to a given e-mail address?
The code i have up above.....it only opens up the default e-mail application, which i don't need.

Mail Form Via Cgi
well i have done a cgi that get few variables as input (email subject ecc...) and returns an html page... i was usin it on html form.
well now i made a flash movie that sends variables to that cgi but i have 2 questions:
1- do i have to use the "load variables" or "geturl" to push the variables into the remote cgi...
2- the cgi gives me an html back, but i d like it to send a signal to the flash movie to notice that the message is sent... then i could go to another frame... for example for displaying "MESSAGE SENT" in the same flash movie
can you help me?

I'm trying to bulid a feedack form that will send the info people type to my e-mail. I've tried the tutorials, but I don't know what I'm doing with the cgi script, so it doesn't work. Can someone help?

Ok i have flash five, and I have looked for a tutorial or an open source file that deals with form to mail cgi but have not found anything that works. Am i looking in the wrong places?
I would very much appreciate if someone could send me an example along with the actual cgi script itself.

PHP Mail Form...please Fix

Mail-a-form & F4
I have a message-form made in Flash 4 that sends data to a non-changeable script (mail-a-form).
On submitting your message I call the script via Get URL ("/cgi-bin/mail-a-form", window="_blank", vars=POST)
The script sends you to a thankyoupage. This page is set in flash via Set Variable: "nextpage" = "http://........."
There's no way of changing the script but is there a way to not to be send to a nextpage?
Or closing the nextpage immediately after it is opened? ( I tried using javascript but there's a dialogue box popping up to confirm closing the window. This because the window is not opened with javascript)

I want to create a form in flash that someone can e-mail to me without knowing my e-mail. in other words I want to create a form for people to e-mail me about whatever. but at the same time I don't want them to know my e-mail addy. I am aware that this may take some pearl or something like that. I can use all the help I can get thank you.

Alright, on my "contact" page I have one text input box which is a message box... How can i make it so after the user enters their message and hits a key suck as "s", that the message will then send to my e-mail adress? Can somebody please give me the action script code for this to work please (i am not really experienced with action script, so i have no idea how to script this.) I appreciate any help on this matter. Also if it is not too difficult how would i make so they couldn't accidently hit "s" and send me back the already preloaded text that i have in the textfield? I hope you understand what I am trying to articulate...Thanks-

Is there anyway to get results from a form to e-mail to a specific e-mail address directly from flash?
And is it possible to allow people to register for a username and password with flash only. Security is not that important, mostly the username and password is for keeping things straight.
