Flash :: Open The 2nd Scene Of Flash Movie Each Time

Flash Crashes Every Time I Open A Movie
I have a fla file i have been working non for some time for a client. The file was working perfectly until a few days ago when i tried to open it. Flash immediately crashed. So i tried opening it on a different machine with flash on. same thing, not even an error message. I have now tried it on around 5 machines with no luck. So today i resigned myself to having to restart the project. However i tried opening the file as a library and it opened OK. One of the library items (a movie clip named "movie") is corrupted as if i click on it in the library it causes flash to crash. SO when i am opening the file, flash tries to load that movie and it crashes. is there any way i can edit the fla with another program to remove this file? i tried in a hex editor searching for movie but it doesn come up with anything congruent... Any ideas? i'd rather not lose that work (although with the library back it is not as bad!)

Open New Movie/scene With Transparency
Hi,

I am new to this list and might as well be new to Flash. My knowledge is more in php, html etc. However, I need to get something together in Flash and while I can usually figure something out ... I think I need a bit of help with this.

I have a map created in Flash where I want to be able to click on a country and have a semi-transparent window come up over top so you can still see the outline of the selected country through the window, Into this window, I need to be able to dynamically load text (plain and/or html), images, other flash or flash video. I also want the movie or scene to zoom up to a set size and then zoom back to nothing on close.

So, are transparent backgrounds possible? Should I be opening a new movie or a new scene? I also need this new window to grab data from an external file or database (XML or MySQL).

A tall order perhaps but any help or direction will certainly be appreciated.

I was looking at my friend webpage and he has it so that everytime you open the site, the background is a different picture (it cycles through about 5) and the color scheme of the nav. menu is different. does anyone know how to do that?

Flash Scene Play 1 Time Only
I'm going to make a flash animation and only want it to play 1 time and then go to another scene and stop. When I exit to other sections on the site and then go back to this page, how can I make the flash not play from the beginning but show you scene2 where it had stoped earlier? At this point I want it to maybe stop at scene2 and either stay stoped or wait 5 min and play again. It's for an ad.
I did this flash scene http://www.igtmarketing.com/ and it plays all over again if you click services and back again.

Anoying Alert Every Time I Open Flash
Hi,

I put an html file in the HTML folder within the Flash MX files. When I loaded flash (the publish settings window does this too) I got the following alert:
Quote:

An invalid template file (FlashObject.html) has been found in your HTML folder.

(The file was called FlashObject.html).
I removed this file, but still get the alert when I open flash or go to the publish settings and it's becoming increacingly anoying.

How can I stop this?

how can i get a movie to open to the scene I want. My movie has two scenes, (scene 1)main and (scene 2)game. No matter what I try, it opens to scene 2. I have tried arragning the scenes with no help

1. Firstly I am trying to simply click an image and for it to open up a new scene on the first frame.(need code to do this)

2. I want to click an image and for it to open a URL of my choice.(need code to do this)

I am used to using flash 8 so all this new scripting is new to me. Please help!!

Is There A Way To Specify A Scene Or Frame A .swf Should Open On?
Is there a way to make a flash menu for an otherwise HTML website with a seperate scene for each page? So that, for example, when you're on the home page it shows the home button in the down state and it isn't clickable. And so on and so for the other pages. I know I could create seperate .swf's for each page, but then each one would have to load on each page visit instead of loading just once on the home page and then being cached for the rest of the site. Is there a way to specify a scene or frame a .swf should start on when opened?

Not Enough Memory To Open Scene Error
Hi,

I've got a large flash file which no longer seems to open. The file is 10 MB.

When I try to open the file I get a 'Not enough memory to open scene' error. It suggest using Get Info to modify the memory allocation which I assume is for Mac although I'm using XP.

I've tried searching for an answer to this but have had no luck so far.

Hi Guys,

I'm working with a file that's only about 2mb in size, but every time I open it I get this message: -

"There is not enough memory to open this scene. Your document is not damaged and you may save your scene"

And then it tells me to increase the amount of memory by shutting down programs, even though I'm working on a machine with 1gb of RAM, and barely any background processes running. It does load the scene, but it deletes a specific frame from one of my animations.

Does anyone know how to get around this. If I keep editing the scene, will it just keep deleting the same frame? If that's the case, it's not a big problem, but if it starts deleting other stuff, that would kind of suck.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

How Do I Direct A Button In 1 Flash Movie To A Specific Scene In Another Flash Movie
I have a separate flash 5 movie which is a bank of buttons inside an html page.
This page is accessible from my main flash site but how do i get back into the main flash site and into the specific scenes relating to each of the buttons on the button bank?
I have tried using variables but I havn't quite managed to get it to work yet.

Flash Movie Goes To Next Scene On On Two Movie Clips Touching
I am pretty sure this can be done because my digital imaging teacher showed us a square spinning after touching a triangle that was moving around. I didn't really pay attention at the time because it seemed pretty useless. But anyway, how could I make a movie go to the next scene after one movie clip touched another movie clip, like two boxes or something? What would the code look like at where would I put it? Thanks.

[MX04] Imported SWISH Movie To Flash Doc And Only Want To Loop 1 Time Within My Movie
I have a flash movie that I am working on. This is my situation:

- I brought a movie from SWISH max to create an effect to this one tag line
- I exported that movie and imported it into a flash mx 2004 document
- When I preview it dont stop looping!
- I tried creating a setting for it on the SWISH application that says "stop playing at end of movie" but i think it overrides that once its brough over to Flash MX.

Any suggestions how I can take care of this problem withi flash? Thanks!

i try to open two external swf in a main movie with a time-delay between. i can open the two swf at the same time, but i cant seem to get the delay to work. please help me.

Moving To A Scene Using Time?
Ok heres another one.
I have 4 scenes, the first is intro,
I want it to move to another scene according to what time it is. I tried this script
adlibbing here so it may not be totally correct

thats a short version of it.
i keep getting errors for the gotoplay part.
i know it needs property it usually is written hours=gottoPlay i tried that that didnt work either.
if someone has a suggestion id be a happy man lol.

Hey Guys,

I know this may be a simple question, but how do I create an action to go to another scene after an elapsed amount of time? I am creating a Flash banner that has 6 images in it. After one image loads, I want it to stay on screen for 10 seconds and then jump to the next image.

Sounds pretty simple huh? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Loading One Scene At A Time
Hey I'm just learning flash and I guess I'm catching on rather quickly but I have a question. I'm making a website with flash and i have the pages of the website into different scenes and I was wondering if somebody had the action text to load only a scene at a time. I know how to make a preloader to load the entire movie but i plan on putting flash files into the site and I want them to load sepratly. The frame label is called "miscOn", the scene is called "misc". The below code is attached to a button within the movie clip.

Hi, I was wondering how If it is possible to load one part of a scene and watch it play, meanwhile having another part of the same scene be loading a bigger file.

And, how would you be able to load just one scene of a movie. and not the whole movie. So you basically have several loading bars for every page.

I have a movie that I have next and back buttons to move from one scene to another. What sort of actionscript would I need to add to the timeline to make it "autoplay" or advance to the next scene after a set amount of time if the next and back buttons are not pressed?

I have applied the code below;

One of my .fla documents doesn't want to open. It keeps saying "failed to open", yet I know it's functional and in the same version I have.

First I Just want to say that this is the greatest community ever for anyone who wants to learn flash. I've been here a long time but just registered.

Anyway, I have a quick one, I use the following javascript

for opening a new window from a flash movie embeded in an html page. when I tested in my pc all the new windows popup ok but when I published my site on the internet, not thing pops up? can someone please help shed some light to this problem of mine?
