SELECTABLE WHITE TEXT ON BLACK BACKGROUND - WHITE CURSOR - CAN IT BE?
SO i have a dynamic white text on a black background... can select but can't see what.

Hi to all

i need to transform a colorized BitmapData into Black and White (2 colors only)

I tried look around on web, documentation and this site before to post here.

I made a simple script AS3 like this (but the result is not so good):

ActionScript Code:

It process every single pixel and set to white if greater than 32768 (8000 Esadecimal) and black if lower than.

Is a correct approach ? Exist other faster and better tecniques ?
like colorTransform or applyFilter or something else ?
Can anyone give me a tip or help ?

Is it possible with AS to desaturate an image and then have it return to color on rollover?

Black And White To Colour?
hey guys,

anyone know if its possible to script graphics/mcs to tween from black and white to colour??

i could do it by having a black and white image on one layer then the same image in colour on the layer below and then reduce the alpha of the black and white image over 10 frames or so to get a similar effect but i only want to use one image if possible to enable as smaller file size as possible.

Roll Over To Black And White
I've seen an effect that I know can be done through actionscript where you can roll over a color photo and have it fade to black and white. It uses something called the ColorMatrixFilter.

I'm hoping someone knows how to use this, cause I haven't played with it yet and wouldn't have the first clue how to get started.

Black And White With Actionscript
In the website I'm developing I want to turn the background image to black and white as the cursor moves toward the left side of the screen or color when the user's cursor moves toward the right side of the screen. Right now I have two images, color on top and black and white on the bottom so all I'm doing is affecting the colored image's alpha to make the black and white fade in.

Can this be done in action script? It would save on file size because I would just need the colored image if I could turn it to black and white with actions script. I know you can control the filters with action script but even in the colorTransform filters I don't see anything for the saturation.

Square From White To Black, Random...
I'm going to have lots of white squares on a black background and i want them to randomly change from black to white evey thirty to sixty seconds and then back from white to black every thirty to sixy seconds, looping like that.

Can anyone tell me how i can do that? I'm assuming i'd have to create animated symbols, but what code would i need? If seconds is hard to do, it can be timed in frames - whichever is easier.

I would also like to make them randomly start as either black or white. IE: When i start the animation, i don't want them all to be black, i want some (half) to be white.

Will Black And White Speed Up My Animation
OK folks here at my job I created a 3d grayscale walkthrough of a house using swift and imported it into flash. This one is just a test to show my boss. It works successfully, but today my boss asked me a question that stumped me. "If we make it Black and White rather than have gray tones in it will it speed up the load time?" Input Text - Black Box, White Box?
On creating an input box in a regular flash window, the box will expand with the text as you type more (and has a white corner)

Yet with the FHH Scroll component, the box has a black square in the bottom right corner that prevents it from extending and causes no problems.

It was simple solution to copy and re-size the box, but for the life of me i can't figure out the difference between this white box and black box and how to achieve it on a normal basis.

I simply must know.

Random Black And White/Visibility
alright, im making a logo for a webpage i am working on that will be emulating an old fashioned early color movie. everyonce in a while (at random, if possible) i would like to make it flash black and white and back for a half second or so, then back to color. it just kinda adds that movie effect to it, like its an old reel of film.
this is all i can think of so far.

i made a black and white version of the image. i figure there has to be a way to make this black and white version visible only after random time intervals. preferably between 1 and 5 seconds. also, the black and white logo would have to turn invisible after being visible for approx a half a second. because the logo itself is static, (except for the lines and scratches because of the old movie feel) i figured it would work if my layers looked like this...

Black Outline Around White Text
Hi,

I wondered if anyone knows an efficient way of creating a black outline around text characters - to use, for example, to enhance readability where white text crosses areas of pale background.
The text is dynamic with embedded runtime shared fonts.

One way that is of course possible is to duplicate every textfield, colour black and then pixel shift is four directions. However, this turns one textfield into five. A problem since some of the application I'm developing may have up to 120 textfields on screen (scrolling lists). It does work, but performance on bottom of the range machines suffers greatly.

Make Picture Appear Black And White: Is This Possible?
Hi all,

Simple question:

I am building a portfolio site for an artist, and as of now, have a main picture panel with a thumbnail slide menu.

My current version is a mess right now, split over several files as I work to program the 500+ images. But it is similar in functionality to the miniusa site

So, when the cursor is over the thumbnail, it shows in full color and the rest of the time they are darkened (simple black 30% alpha)

However, Mr. ArtistDude has requested that instead of the thumbnails just darkening, they appear black and white / grayscale.

Is this possible? There is no friggin way I'm making another entire set of thumbnails in black and white and doing a mask that way, so I'm hoping there is some easyish way I'm unaware of.

Annoying White Box On Black Background
My HTML page has a black background.
My SWF menu has a black background from the very first frame.
When the page loads, the area size of the SWF is white over the background until the SWF starts loading.

Is there any way around this? It would be nice if the web visitor didn't see the white box. The animation would have a much nicer effect.

Black And White Masking Principles (help Please)
In typical programs like Photoshop, masks are determined by black or white and even grey. I am however having a few problems in Flash.

I have a motion effect that reveals some text. Now When the motion effect comes back I want it to hide the text, but even when applying black to a seperate mask it does not works it reveals the text. I must be doing something wrong somewhere and really need to figure this out.

Can anyone help me out here?

ColorTransform Black/White To Color
I wonder if anyone has done a color to black/white transformation using the new Transform, Matrix or BitmapData classes in Flash 8...

Ive used Tranform/ColorTransform to dynamically burn out images/objects, but havent got to build a color-out function/method to do it dynamically...

Using the Flash IDE you can set an Adjust Color filter and then set saturation to -100... so I know its possible I just havent found the AS equivalent....

Change Colour MC To Black And White
I have created an web application that allows users to design there own advert online. The application has the design panel on the left and a preview panel on the right showing the user their advert. The advert is contained in its own movieclip.

The user will be designing their advert in colour but I need to show the user what the ad will look like in black and white as this will be a cheaper option.

Is their a way of converting a movie clip to black and white on the fly by adjusting the saturation or something.

I have never seen this done but Im sure there must be some way of doing it.
