Im trying to get up a site for my gaming clan, though im far from broke i dont want to dish out cash for no having a banner on the site. i dont care about it looking prof, cause well its for a gaming clan. My problem: i put up a page at angel fire came back hour later they said i voliated they something or another so they deleted it. It was cause it didnt have the banner on the page. i went to another (free) hosting site. they said if you have framed pages please put "blah blah" before the body tag. My question is: How do i add html to a flash page?

Adding HTML/CSS
Hey I know you guys prob see these questions a lot, but up to this point I have not found a solution that has worked so I decided to post the question myself.

Im trying to import external HTML with an External CSS stylesheet. Its been a long time coming getting the external HTML to load into the dynamic text field. The actionscript for that is:

I know its simple, without an error routine, but its the only code that seems to work.

What Im looking to do now is ad external CSS to it. Now I cant do that through the HTML directly can I? How do I edit this code to include an external stylesheet for it?

Adding An HTML Tag To Movie?
The tag below needs to be positioned inside my Flash 5 movie, somehow:

It's a "Contact Me Now" tag. It links to another page (which, in my case, needs to pop-up in A seperate window) ***and*** a link to a graphic that will magically appear when I lay this code down...

Adding To Html File
ive done all me movie now, and all thats left is to put it on me site. I have an original index.htm file, and using dreamweaver MX, i import the .swf file, and also add the relevant image files and folders to my directory.
Because my movie reads in random external images. I can open the .swf file on its own and it works perfectly, and displays the images as it should, but when i open my index.htm file, none of the images appear, why is this,
any one got a clue

I'm making a website in Flash to display some literature translations. The texts I want to add are all .html files (with popup labels added) and I was wondering how I could get them into flash, or maybe link to them somehow?

Okay this is going to sound confusing, but I'm making a website for a paintball store and they want all flash for the site. Iâ€™m going to add a cgi file called newspro for them to update news for the site. What Iâ€™m wanting to know is if there anyway I could add the newspro HTML code in the flash so the text would show up in the flash instead of like on the html page.

Here's the code I have to add in the html, 

Hereâ€™s a site of what newspro looks like when you add it to html. www.bransonelvis.com skip the intro and you will see the newspro. I remember seeing something about using html in flash to make stuff work, but Iâ€™m not sure if you can with this. Anyone know how I would go about doing it?

Adding Hyperlink To SWF File In HTML
This is my first time dealing with any .swf files, so any help would be appreciative...

I have been given an .swf file that needs to be added to an HTML page - no problem. That file then needs to link to another site. Is this something that needs to be added to the file before it is loaded onto a website?

I've seen the following code provided in other threads, but either it is meant to be used when creating the file, or I'm not using it correctly when I try adding it to my .asp page.

Adding BG To HTML Kills Movie
When I add a background image tile in my html page, the swf file won't load. Anyone know a workaround? The movie is made in MX at F6. Add a tiled image, it quits working, take it out, it works again. ?????

Adding Flash To An HTML Page
I am just new to flash and I have created a header for my website in flash and saved it as an .swf file and now I would like to add it to my HTML page so that it can be viewed. Can someone suggest the steps I need to do to publish this file before I add it to the table in the page?

Adding HTML Insde Flash
I'm trying to figure out if you can add some HTML code inside flash.

For example.. let's say I have a regular flash link (mouseover color change and everything). It's flash.. not html...

Now lets say I wanted to make it so you could make the status bar have a message in it when you moused over the link.

The plain HTML would be something like this I think...

<a href="http://www.blahblah.com" style="font-size:12px;color:#ffffff;font-family:verdana;" onMouseOver="window.status='Blah is a crazy site!'; return true;" onMouseOut="window.status=''; " target="_blank">Blah</a>

But since flash already had the button... I'm not sure what the HTML would be.

Would you just put the HTML in the actions panel?

Can you even do this?

Do you put external HTML to direct it to a part of the Site?

[F8] Adding Flash Buttons To HTML
Hi,

I'm having trouble gettin my flash menu working in IE.

Any help truly appriecated,

I have created a flash menu,

then added links to the action script of the buttons and tested it in flash 8(works fine),

then i saved it as a movie file and added it to a page (HTML 1.0) in dreamweaver.

When i test the page in IE my problem starts , when i move over the links the mouse changes from a cursor to a pointing hand (showing a link there) fine..., but when i click the button nothing happens. The menu looks fine and everything works apart from the links, however they do work if i load and test the movie file by itself.

Any suggestions to where im going wrong will be truly appericated, and im glad to give more info if required.

Adding A Html Linked .jpg To A Scrollable Box?
Greetings everyone!

The title pretty much says it all... I'm reading the flash mx 2004 foundation book from friends of ed and in this book i stumbled upon an example where they made flash show a .jpg inside a txt field using html tags. I'd like to build that together with a scollable text... like one of the many scrollable text tutorials here on kirupa. Only problem is (big surprise here) that I can't make it work... But then again - I have no idea if one could actually just couple the two examples together - at least you can't do it the way I did

Basically in the foundation book they just wrote like this:
<img src='/yourDirectoryName/yourFileName.jpg'>

I got that working with a textfield without scrolling on my 1st hideous test at: www.theisjacobsen.dk under "study"

When I put it in one of the scrollable text tutorials here at Kirupa it just displays the entire line with <img> tags, paths and everything like it was part of the normal text...

Any good advice?

btw: the picture is just part of a grab from my desktop... a wallpaper from 2advanced - not my work and just there for a quick test just so people don't think I stealing and/or using other peoples work! Thanks..

basically, how do u add a link to the flash movie for example with a drop down menu so that when u select either the 1st, 2nd, etc category it jumps to a specified html file??

i know how to point it to a URL, but i am building a website and just really struggling with this issue.

In php it's just as simple as echoing out html tags in the for loop but I dont get it in AS3. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I am making a flash form that fills in the details of an html template code i made for ebay auctions and then just displays it in a text box so its easy to copy it to the ebay auction. The problem is all the quotes already in the html from tag attributes that screw up the variable text quotes so i cant add the text entered in the flash movie between the html tags. Is there anyway to do this?

Ok, what I am needing to do, is adding a flash segment into another HTML file....I have seen some sites with this type of Flash inserted into the same page in which they are wanting to ADD a little flash into the Main html file they are wanting to use.

Ok I have a html file in which has data already inserted, but a little ways down, I am needing to add some flash to show members of my site, what they are getting, when they join, my safelist, and in middle ways I am wanting to insert this Flash Segment into that same page, how can I call upon the SWF or SWI file in order for that to bring up in the main page???

im completely new to flash. with a lot of trouble just made my first layout. trouble is i have a blog that i want to include in my site. how can i import an html file into a flash page. and i think it has to be an html file, as opposed to a text file, because i often have pics on my blog. plus using blogger lets me add comments to blogs. any suggestions?

I am trying to create a flash file with an area of the movie displayed as html.

I have seen this on a cd where a rectangular area is scrollable and is basically html code being picked up from external html files.

When a user clicks on any of the flash buttons, the text changes to that of another html page.

I am still new to Flash. I should have posted this in the Newbie section however I thought this section may be more appropriate to getting my question answered.

I'm designing a website. The navigation is based on drag and drop. Problem Adding Images To Html Text Box.
This one, like a steering wheel down the trousers, is driving me nuts....

Source can be downloaded where is says 'herehere' below (not used to this forum, seems a bit weird.)

I have 2 text boxes on the stage, both are set to 'multiline' and set to render 'html'.
they are also set to show the contents of the variables html1 and html2 respectively
via the 'Var' field in the property window.(so this is an Actionscript 2 thing).

the html I'm using is a very basic <img src /> tag.
You can use any small image file you like to try this out, just change both source file names.
(mine happened to be called bonkers.jpg, but gifs and pngs seem to be the same).

When I define 'html1' directly, it works fine.
If I define 'html2' directly it works fine,
However if I define html2 via an array, although the content of both html1 and html2 both seems the same,
(and all the trace code that follows checks this) the second html box doesn't work.

It took me the best part of a day to figure out it was the process of transferring from an array
that was causing the issue, but why ? What does an array do to a string that makes it stop working at html ?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Adding A Flash Website Html Scrollbar
Hey!

I've been looking around in the internet and in the Kirupa's forum as well but haven't found the solution for my problem so far.

Basically, the efect i want to create is like a simple html/css webpage which has dynamic height. That means, page height depends of the text ammount.

So, when i come to flash, i am able to create a full screen website with the scrollbar of the overflow. But how can i make it dynamic? So the height of flash movie depends on movie clip size in flash?

maybe I just don't know the syntax...but I got a dyanmanic text field name "fred"

and another dyamanic text field with a calcualted value, name "burt"

when the frame starts daysold = "365"

fred is an html text box and
I want fred to = "<b>hi I'm " + daysold + "days old</b>"

this don't work,

if fred is NOT an html text box...works fine.

why?

the paln is to change part of the result, font color, size with HTML?

any ideas?

Adding Html Formatting To External Text Field
Hi, apologies if you read this post in my previous entry, i should have started it as a new topic..

I've got a dynamic textfield calling an external text file from the server OK, but I want to add a bit of formatting e.g. bolding the titles. I've read a few posts on this, but am getting a headache working out what I change in my code! Or do I change something in the external file itself?

The textfield is called load_txt (the var: my_lv)

The action applies to the layer is:

Adding Flash Movie/navigation To Html Page...
Hi all,
I'm doing some freelance building for a company around here...

I have got all the css/xhtml built but I need to add the flash to it...I use dreamweaver but know css and xhtml by hand..I dont know how to add a flash nav/movie though...I mean, I have built my own flash movies of photos fading in and out but that's it...The flash files they gave me have 4 .fla files, a couple html files, 2 xml files and 1 folder called "media" with images inside of it...They asked me to make new swf's and insert it in the page...In dreamweaver I know to go to media>insert flash. But, it just puts a black box where the movie goes.

Here are the contents of the flash folder I have been given:
• temp0000
• images.xml
• images2.xml
• /media (folder with images)
• Base.html
• Player.html
• PlayerMulti.html
• Base.fla
• Nav.fla
• Player.fla
• PlayerMulti.fla
• Base.swf
• Nav.swf

Only on the index page does the whole thing go. (movie and navigation) then on all the sub pages goes just the navigation.

I just dont know flash well enough and have never done this myself so I have no idea.

I'm just trying to add a link to a series of animated Flash button thumbnails embedded into a html page. I select the button object on the stage to apply the GetUrl action - but whatever I come up with, I'm getting errors. I want the buttons onRelease to go to either a mailto window or another html page.

I've created scrollers in the past that use a txt file and have ability to underline, href, etc but I believe this code doesn't allow that because of textFormat code. Could somebody take a peek and let me know if its possible.

I was remaking my website, and I need to know if it is possible to add hover effects and all that to <a> tags in an html dynamic text box. I've seen it on other sites (whether it was in a dynamic text box I am not sure, but it looked like it since it was anti-aliased text). Does anyone know?

I absolutely love the carousel however in the item description i would like to have html links.

I have tried the following:

FLASH:

Please help - I have a dynamic text field in a movieclip inside a main movieclip - Within flash the dynamic text display properly but once I load the file to an html page the dynamic text no longer display - It loads undefined in text box. However when I remove the movieclip from main movieclip text display no problem.

I Am Adding A Child To The Stage, Adding An Event Listener To The Child. I Then Want
I'm trying to do something that seems like it should be really simple to do.

I am adding a child to the stage, adding an event listener to the child. I then want to remove the child from within the event listener.

Adding Links On "Adding Thumbnails" Tutorial
I've stumbled across a very interesting tutorial, which helped me a lot.

But, I've noticed a little detail. When you click on the big image of the finished example on the first page of tutorial, it acts like a link. When I have downloaded finished .fla source, links are nicely written in the images.xml file, but the links in the .fla file don't work.
Please, tell me which AS code I have to add to my .fla file in order to activate links (and make them work properly).

Flash MX - HTML Parsing Problem: Custom Extension File Won't Parse As HTML
I am using Flash MX.

The problem is, I have a movieclip in my main timeline. This movieclip has a main key and a refresh key, which updates the dynamic textfield's contents with a loaded variable named content. The variable content is stored within a file named readme.ifh. When I load the variable in the textfield, it shows me the source of the HTML, not the rendered version.

What's wrong (and yes, I do have the "Render as HTML" option checked)?

URGENT: Flash Navigation Embedded In Html That Link To Frameset Content In Html
Hi all,

I want to build a website that consists of a menu navigation (made in flash but embedded in a topframe in dreamweaver. On the left site, there would be some flash animations (images etc.)embedded in the leftframe and in the right/main frame, there would be either flash content or html content (depending on the content). The menu bar is made of 7 buttons; when you mouse over a button, you get a scrolling menu with different items, those buttons items have a rollover effect and when you click on one of this items it will load either a flash or html content in the right/mainframe of my dreamweaver site. My question is what is the best way to build this navigation bar so that when i click on one of this item, it will load the correct content in the right/main.frame.html. When this occurs, i want that the scrolling menu still displays while the content is loading so that when the visitor have seen the content, he just needs to click to another item to load the content (so no ectra step). Please help me with this as it urges.
Be clear in your responses as i am not a pro of actionscrit!

[MX04] HTML Tags Needs To Be Disabled In Dynamic Html Enabled Text Fields
Hi Buddies,

Am loading some dynamic text from an xml which has html tags inside dat text. I jus loading dat specified texts into a dynamic text fields where html is enabled and assisgned as a htmlText instead of normal text.

It works fine, but the thing is, i want to disable certain html tags to be rendered but it shud display as it is as a normal texts.
Is there any way to do dat

Dont Want To Render < HTML > Tags In HTML Enabled Dyna Text
Hi All,

Is there any way to display < HTML > tags in the HTML enabled dynamic text field with out actually rendering it ? one constraint is, I want to enable the HTML feature for that text field all the time. because, i want to render some other tags.

The problem is in my text field unable to display msgs having <> characters i.e. even if I say < hello > it is not displaying anything, because, it is treating it as HTML tag and trying to render it. Is there any work around to display this text as it is ??

PHP Adding HTML On Its Own

I am saving a simple text file with some xml tags to the server via PHP. What PHP actually writes to the disk is the text file plush a bunch of HTML tags that it "thinks" shold be there. Anyone??
