One Flash Banner Plays Differently When Viewer First Visit The Site And When Viewer N
I have a flash banner at the top, when the viewers first come to my site, my flash banner plays the way I want, when viewers start to navigate my site and got redirected to other pages within my site, the flash banner on the top will paly the same way as the page loaded at the first time, this is kind of annoying, I would like the flash to play once especially the flying buttons, when the visitor trying to buy something on my site, the flash should stay still, don't play the action again and again on every page, How do I do that?

Flash Gallery Viewer / Video Viewer
I need to find a Flash gallery viewer that can display still images but also, when the user clicks on that image, can kick off a corresponding FLV file which plays as a video, either where the image was or in its own window on the same page. It needs to be as straightforward as possible for end-users.

Ideally it should have the form of a "pack of cards" i.e users can flip from one "card" to the next, back and forth, perhaps using two controls for left and right to browse one way or the other. The stack of images and videos behind them should also be searchable alphabetically or by other criteria (e.g name).

Does anyone have any ideas as to free Flash applications which can do this and which can be easily built / embedded into web pages?

I need help with a pic viewer I'm trying to make. The slider is suppose to follow the curser with in the "film" graphic and display a larger view in the window. I found a .fla on flashkit that showed me how but something still isn't working just right. Please take a look at my .fla.

hi. There is a 360 Viewer where you can see a picture to the left and to the right. If anybody have seen this. How can I change this picture for one of my own. I dont know if I have to create a new movie clip or whatever. Somebody knows a tutorial for learning to do this.

I have downloaded the RSS Viewer example from www.adobe.com/go/learn_programmingAS3samples_flash (The RSSViewer application files can be found in the folder Samples/RSSViewer) It works very well when the file is on my computer.
But once i uploaded it to a hosting server, it is not working!

Does any one know how i can get a picture viewer in flash using AS?
ie. i have 7 pics, all scaled down to thumb size. all @ 65% transparency. user clicks one, the others fade into nothing whilst the on clicked gets enlarged to 100% size @ full transparency. i did manage this one without AS but the swf file was like a million trillion mb :P an example of what i mean can be found at one of my other sites; TabOo, (http://getit.at/taboo) it's under the boiz/yummy boiz section. although this was achieved using DHtml but withouth transition effects.

Help would be very much apriciated.

I am having problems figuring out how to make some interactive buttons work the way I want. Its newby stuff for Flash 5, but your help would be happy fun for me.

I am trying to figure out how to play a photo viewer backwards. I have a flash movie that shows photos and then moves to the next photo when a "next" button is pushed, but how do I do a "previous" in the layers of the movie. I have it now where it just uses the "goto" actionscript, but it is not a smooth glide like I have for the "next" . My only thought is to write an entirely reversed movie and goto that if they hit the back button. But is there a better, easier way?

Please help. Im also having similar problems with a pause button for a sound file. How do you "pause" sound and not "stop all sound"?

Hello, everyone. I am using Flash MX btw. I am trying to make an image viewer using the sample that comes with Flash MX as a template. It works fine, but i can't publish it for flash 5 because it says some stuff is not supported, blah blah. I'm not good enough at this stuff to know what part of the script is only for MX, and even if I did, I wouldn't know how to change it. I am hoping that if I post the code here, perhaps someone could assist me in 'converting' it to Flash 5. Basically, i want the same effect, just for 5 instead of MX. Thanks in advance... .

I would like have a menu with all available fonts. Then choose the font and type the text into a text box and have it return the text in the font that was picked. Also I would like to be able to change the font color and background.

here's my problem- i have an actionscript in the first scene that detects if the swf is playing locally or off the web. if it's local, it sends the timeline to a scene that unloads the movie and closes out the fp. i put this in there as a deterrent for those who are sophisticated enough to work around it. (you can't beat all the swipers all the time).

i also protected the files from import, so i can't see what i did originally.

can someone open this up with an actionscript viewer and let me know how this thing works again? i've had a few people send me suggestions but they just seemed so complicated compared to what i had done originally. can someone help? sales@tastemedia.net

Pdf Viewer On Flash Cd
I'm currently making a flash movie that I will be turning into an exe and burning onto a cd. I'm attaching pdf files as well as Excel files. Should I include a pdf viewer as well as an Excel viewer for clients that don't have these programs installed on their computer? If so, will the programs automaticaly open themselves or should I provide a download link for these viewers?

Ok - so the way I see it is... there is no way to prevent ActionScript Viewer from viewing anyones SWF's ?? Correct?

So for instance... if you had ...

I have a webcomic that I make partially in flash. Now I received a gift from a friend that wouldve helped me out tons and tons, but it does not seem to work. I have very limited knowledge of actionscripts, but I think the problems lies somewhere in a link missing between the comics and the buttons in the swf. I'm not sure how to get this to work.

I made one simple percentage preloader and the problem is that i can see this in Netscape Viewer but i can't see that in IE in WinXP system.
Maybe this problem is because some setting of Viewer are wrong?

i bought swf viewer from inet(shows your swf files as thumbs great for finding art and animation in a hurry),from some indian company inet which worked fine until i had to reinstall windows and then due to a crap policy and their broken support links i have to buy it every time i reinstall and i am on my forth reboot, how crap is that!! is there a decent app that can browse swf files as thumbs ????

i dont want to keep paying them money, makes me sick another rip off.

ok, this one's a classic.

i have a bunch of thumbnail photos in my flash movie and would like to let the user click on them to enlarge in another window (and then click on arrows to advance through the entire photo collection).

i'm sure there are many different ways to do it, but...

1. what is the best window-spawning command to use w/thumbnails (assuming that all the enlarged images will end up in this same window).

2. does anyone know of any sites that have implemented this particularly well?

Can anyone point me in the right direction for writing an IP camera viewer. The camara basically sends a stream of jpegs w/ seperators. I'm not sure how I would go about making the request (standard http call to a cgi) to the camera and then processing the stream that is returned.

Hi All,
I am trying to create an Image Viewer or someting like a Slide Show...

It has 2 Sections.... One the THUMBNAILS (Comprising 9 thumbnails at a time... of a total of 90).

The second section would be the Picture selected.

I want to add 2 buttons.. One would scroll the Thumbnails for the Next Set of 9 Thumbnails when pressed. and the other button to the previous set..

I have managed to do that arranging the 90 thumbnails in a Layer and grouping the same and Masking to show the 9 alone and trying to Move the _x of the Group (Converted to movie object) when pressed the button.
But in this case the Thumbnails (that are Buttons themselves do not woek)... If I make the Group as a Converted Graphic Object the _x property movement does not work but the Thumbnails click works....

Please help me out of this... I am a REAL newbie and trying hard to learn this... please lemme know how I can accomplish this and Just in case if this is not sufficient information, do lemme know...

Help With A Thumbnail Viewer?
I'm an uber-noob but I know my way around. I am trying to make a thumbnail view that follows this format:

There is a row of small black and white thumbnails near the bottom. When the are scrolled over a small color preview appears in a box on the side. When clicked the full image apears above them all.

My question:
What is the script that loads the images? At first I thought it was the load movie script but that doesn't sound right. Help? Thanks.

Does anyone know how Flash compares with SVG viewer?

Can flash interpret files as the svg viewer does and display them?

I only ask as I need some graphical output that will be created dynamically from variables chosen.

I am at the stage where I could go either way, and so was just wondering if anyone had any ideas.

hello people

i have a slider menu which is 682px width, i want it to move left and right according to mouse movement. when cursor rollover it, the slider will stop. when rollout, it moves again.

problems: it goes too fast, only slide to left, moves across the stage, not inside the clip..

also the buttons when clicked will load a swf, but how come after click it, it's not clickable again??(the white little graphic disappear
how i fix it?
how i add the code to make it stop when rollover?

to create a useful photo gallery which i have done successfully in a NEW FLASH MX DOCUMENT. Now I want to apply this to my site

When my site has loaded and I click on my playlists page I created a button and put the following code on it:

}

On this page I made it so that when I go to frame 2 it would play the image viewer. It does this ok but I can't seem to alter the size of the image. The strange thing is that I can alter the size of the image in the NEW FLASH DOCUMENT but on my site the image won't move.

I rekon the problem lies with the page. I need to try another method.

I have trialed and errored just about everything.

I have tried to move the rectangle shape I made but the image doesn't move at all. Why does it move in the NEW FLASH DOCUMENT and not my site. I don't understand

Simple Viewer With PHP?

Not sure which forum to put this in, but I was wondering if anyone had any luck with Simple Viewer and PHP. My server says it has GD 2.0 so I guess it has the bug with thumbnails and images not being made. I have not been able to successfully run the build script.

Is this just not going to work, or maybe is there a workaround?

Does anyone know a font viewer that can view fonts that are not installed in ATM system or your system folder? I have a huge amount of fonts that are on my hard drive in a folder called fonts they are not installed, as there are so many. There has to be a program that will view these fonts from there folders.

I'm not sure I should be using flash for this but maybe someone can help. I'm working on a page in dreamweaver. I want to create a window that will display alternating jpeg images from a file. I would like the images to either fade in and out of each other or some other changeover effect - I don't want them to just replace each other. I also would like the user to be able to click on the image and be able to link to another page.

Should I be doing this in Dreamweaver or is this a dreamweaver/Flash combination with the image window coming from flash? And if it is a flash issue can somene point me in the right direction on how to accomplish this (I just need a direction)

Here's my problem. I have created this image viewer but when I click to enlarge one of the images I want the user's ability to rotate the viewer to be disabled. Presently, when the image enlarges the user can still rotate the viewer and click on other images and enlarge them. As you can imagine this makes things look a bit confusing. Can any help me figure out what I need to do to make this happen? I don't want the user to be able to rotate the viewer until after he/she has already clicked on the enlarged image and it has finished scaling back down to its original size.

I have attached the FLA in a Zip file.

This is the code on the 2nd frame of the images' button. This also acts as a frame for the image. Here is where the rotation and scaling are handled.

It needs to scroll smoothly when dragging, but ease to the correct location when the scrollbar dragger is released.
