Play/Rewind Not Working - Someone Help Pls



I’m using below code to play/rewind my animation…..but play is working, rewind is not working…I’m not sure where I’m doing mistake….could you please some one help me on this…

Play Rewind?
Hi,

Ofcourse there is the action play();, but is there also an action for rewinding like playBackwards(); or something simular???

Start Stop Rewind And Play
For the life of me I can not get flash to play movies more than once using action script, a button, and a movie. This programming logic is elusive. Can anyone help?

Rewind/ Play Frames Backwards?
i have 4 main sections of my site and i would like it if the user is deep into section 2 and wants to click a button to go to section 3, section 2 actually reverses every tween/action it has ( breaking down ) then goes to section 3. i would prefer this rather than an abrupt shutdown section 2 and section 3 starts.

how is that possible?

Rewind The Play Head In A Gallery.
Hello,

I have been looking at how to sey my playhead to rewind.
i have created a photogallery with pics sliding in when the right button is pressed.
i would like to know how i can get the playhead to rewind.
i have seen many examples using AS3 but i need to do this in AS2.

Rewind/Reverse Play In Flash
hey,

so far, i have created a movie which contains another movie from an external .swf file.

i am trying to set up some playback controls for this embedded movie and so far have only implemented the play and pause buttons with the code 'submovie.play()' and 'submovie.stop()' respectively.

is there any way, in which the submovie can be played in reverse at the current framerate when the 'rewind' button is pressed?

Enabling Play/Stop/Rewind
Hello,

I've been struggling for quite a while to play a .swf from javascript. It seems that the [embed].Play() function does not work, i.e. it's defined but inactive.

Now I've noticed that some flash movies give you an option to play/rewind etc. when you right click on them in the browser whereas some don't. The particular movie I'm trying to play doesn't give me that (it's not something I've made myself, I'm quite new and I don't even have the flash editor installed).

Now I was wondering if those two are linked and if the play/rewind functions are something set in the .swf file or in the html that is used to display it?

How Do I Control An External Swf? (Play, Pause And Rewind)
I'm importing video clips in the form of swfs. They've already been made by an outside source so I cannot go inside of them and place these butons: play, stop, rewind, pause. Therefore, I must control them from my parent movie.

Any suggestions on a tutorial? I saw a great posting earlier but lost it. (I know, I know...should've saved it to myFK! ack!)

Anyone know how to rewind playback of a netstream video file?

say i am at seek(12390)... and I want it to just go backwards from there to say seek(0). I couldn't seem to find anything on it in the class help docs.

Pause,play And Rewind An External Swf File
Hello Friends,
I am importing a swf file onto an MC on my mail timeline. That external movie has following things:
1. It has video with sound, little animation and text.
2. Its timeline is controlled by setInterval. The setInterval is used to pause the playhead to stay in a frame according to the length of the video. If the video file (an flv file) is for 20 secs, then the playhead will stay in that frame for 23secs (that is video length + 3 secs more). Then it will go to the next frame.

All these things seems to work fine. Now I want to control this swf file with a rewind button, play button and a pause button. When I hit the pause button, I want to video mc, text and animation everything should stop in that frame. How can I do that? Should I try to control the swf from within the swf itself or should I try to control from the main timeline? Or is there a better to do this entire thing?

I would appreciate any help or pointers for this problem. Thank you very much.

Disabling Play,rewind,zoom In When Right Clicking
Can anyone tell me how to disable 'play', 'rewind', 'zoom in' and those others when you right click. This is when the flash is playing in a browser. I've tried the fscommand("showmenu", false) thing but it only works when I view the actual .swf file but when I embed it on a web page you can right click it and the menu will appear. So help.

Basic Play, Rewind Bar For My Slide Show?

I make audio slideshows in Flash. They are for non-profits, sometimes they are 8 minutes long and people need to rewind, fast foward parts on my website. Usually, I just export a simple .swf (for the small file size) of my work and post it, but I would like to add one of those neat toggle bars, with a play and stop button like I see on so many sites. It can be just a really simple one, like any of the stories have at this site:

How do they do it?
It seems like so many people are doing this out there, but I Google my life away and can't even get a clue as to how to do this. If you can't answer my question, will you at least give me some good keywords to Google as a starting point?

How To Make An MC Play, Then Rewind And Loop Automatically?
Character animation intended to animate breathing. All that I need this movie clip to do in order to animate the breathing effect is to play and then when it reaches the last frame, to play backwards and than loop as a movie clip naturally would. If anyone could tell me the action script that does this and how to implement it I would be very greateful.

How Do I Add Play/Pause/Rewind Buttons To A .swf File
I'm fairly new to flash and I built a flash movie (.fla) in flash 8.0 and then exported it as a .swf file and inserted into the following html:

Make Audio & Video Rewind & Play Together
Hello everyone!
I am fairly new to Actionscripting and brand new to this forum. I hate to start out desperate but I am. Let me set the stage:

I created a 7 scene swf in CS3 Actionscript 2.0 and have integrated (under excruciating trials) a voiceover tract (mp3) that is perfectly timed. Now, I have been asked to put in controls so that viewers/listeners can STOP / REWIND / PLAY the swf.

After numerous trys I finally got the following script to play the audio with the video:

AND.... I can get the audio to stop with the video with this script:

s.stop();
stop();
}

BUT... no matter what I try I cannot get the Rewind & Play to act as one (I either get the video to stop & not the audio & vice versa).

The script looks too simplistic to other scripts I've seen, so perhaps the fault lies in my simplicity. In any case, I REALLY need help!!!!

I am loading in a video into my movie clip which I converted to SWF with sorrenson squeeze & Want to know how to control the movie from my main timeline , basically I just want to stop and play , and possibly have a timeline , BUT I know that to do a timeline I would have to have the movie embedded ?

Any thoughts ? I have herd about using the 'tell-target' command , but I am not sure how to use it ...

basically my files are called "movie.swf" and my place holder is called "loader"

Any thoughts , links , something would be good.

Rewind Loop Not Working With A Preloader
Hey guys, i have a simple question...hopefully simple.

Im using a script that plays my movie in reverse and also loops it.
This is for a scrolling gallery type effect.
Now I would like to put a preloader on the front of it, but when i do, my reverse loop doesnt work anylonger.
Does anyone have any ideas of what could be causing this?
Do i need to somehow include some new script to compensate for the new change of scene that happens with my preloader?

Music Continues To Play When You Select "rewind"
When viewing my movie, if I right click and select rewind, the music doesn't rewind with the rest of the movie and so continues to play, however, it starts again when the movie plays so i end up with 2 sound files in the background playing. The first continues to play from where it was and the second starts from the begginning...
The settings i have for the sound are:

Effects: none
Sync: Event, Loop

I tried other ways but but I want the music to continue to play until the user clicks on the "enter" button... all the other ways were stopping the mucsic once the movie finished....

Why Is Play Not Working
Ok, here is my problem. I am very new with flash mx. I have made some very simple, and stupid, animations at my cheap site. But now I am trying something different. Instead of a simple button that plays, I want an animated button. So I made a movie clip symbol, and i made it move. I added actions to where you moved your mouse over it, and it would stop, and moved of and it will continue playing. Well thats all fine. So i go to add what I think sends it to the next frame. I put gotoandplay(2)
and when I click it it goes to frame 2 of the symbol! I AM SOOO CONFUSED!
will someoneplease help me? I only need to know how to get amoving button. thanks

Play Once Not Working In Firefox
I'm relatively new to flash and having trouble with setting my intro video to only play once. It works perfect on IE7, but doesn't work at all on Firefox2. I'm using Flash8.

Im creating a simple movie clip that consists of 3 looping images - along with a play/pause button, a next button and a previous button.

Play And Stop Script Not Working
I can't figure out why the play and stop script isn't working in this fla. What I want to do is when the button is pressed, the movie plays until the next stop action in the timeline, but the movie won't play at all. Can anyone see what I have done wrong? I have attached the fla file.

Play Pause Button Not Working Exactly Like Should...
Hey gurus, I need some help!

I have buttons controling the timeline of a movie clip. I followed the directions in SAMS Teach yourself... but it's not exactly user friendly.

I have a rewind button and a play/pause button. My issue is the play button starts as a pause. when you click pause it shows play, then you need to click play to get the movie started. Once you get it started it works perfect. How can I get it to start with one click?

OK, code:

Movie clip (group3_choral8) holds the movie and the rewind button, then I've pulled in a second movie clip (play_pause) with the toggle button in it. The play_pause clip contains 2 frames.

Frame 1:

Pause button which contains:
on (press) {
_parent.stop();
gotoAndStop(2);
}

Frame 2:

Play button which contains
on (press) {
_parent.play();
gotoAndStop(1);
}

And on frame one there is a stop button.

I have tried swapping buttons. In my first movie clip I moved the play_pause movie clip to frame 2 and put a play button in frame 1 - this made it not work at all. I tried putting a new layer in and hiding the pause button with a play button, that didn't work.

Any suggestions?

Help Getting Play/stop Buttons Working
If you go to http://valenciacc.edu/images/frontpage2/banner9.swf and mouseover the "Better place to start" box in the lower left hand corner it will popup. Then click the box to start the video, and play and stop buttons will show up. I can't get these play and stop buttons to work. NetStream.Play.Complete Still Not Working
Hoped this would ave been fixed in as3 but this event does not always get triggered. Seems to be related to the encode. Anyways I would like to see others approach to this issue.

Currently I have place a condition in the NetStream.Play.Stop event to check if the ns.time is > the duration-1;

Simple Goto And Play Not Working
I have a small movie clip on my main time line with the instance name of logo1. There is a stop action on the first frame of this clip. The second frame starts the animation.

On the first frame of my main time line I put the action

.AttachMovie();, Movie.play();, Alhpa Not Working?
Basically, i have a little simple flash movie clip, it has 10 motion tween frames. There are 3 tween points, frame 1, frame 5, and frame 10. frame 1/10 have 100% alhpa, frame 5 has 40% alhpa.

Simple right? If i test the clip, it works fine, nothin is wrong.

i use that to import the movie "SkipIntro", all is well except that the movie's alhpa does not transfer if you will. The movie is playing no problem, because the middle of the movie (frame5) is 0% alhpa, if i move it over like 10 pixels, you can see the movie moving, but you still dont see the alhpa. So its like the alhpa just isnt registering.

I hope you can understand my attempt at explaining this, and if so, what am i doing wrong? Keep in mind i am a total flash nub, i know c++ but not flash, so i can just import some basic knowlage into flash. Anyway, plz help

[F8] Rollover And Play MP3(Action Script Not Working)
Hey i've been using flash for a decent amount of time and i can't seem to get my actionscript to work for a button i am making. The rollin and rollout portions work perfectly but the mp3 does not play. I am positive i attached the mp3 "beep" properly to the frame so i just need to know if my actionscript is properly set up.

Menu/Control - Play Has Stopped Working
I am using Flash 8, working on some files originally created with MX2004, on a Mac.

I did something in the Library of one of my FLAs - tried to delete unused items. Then did a Compact and Save. After that something drastic has gone wrong with the Play function of the software. None of my files are proceeding. They go 2 or 3 frames and then stop. Same thing happens if I do a Test Movie.

Do I need to re-install from disk?

Hi Folks,

I've been banging my head on a wall for a couple hours now trying to figure out what is wrong with my code. I'm trying to dynamically play a movie clip when I have a match of 2 characters between 2 strings.

Any idea why the play statement in the last line using th array operator won't work?

Play() Function Not Working On Loaded Swf In Target Clips
here is some code loading swfs into empty target mcs, they load
on cue (according to the timer running 25 times a sec). But the clipHolder variable holding the path to the target doesn't work
on cue i.e inside the filmFrames variable condition check. Outside of
it, it's fine but then is called continuously and therefore loops the last loaded swf.
Anyone any pointers?

Alpha Property Causing Play() To Stop Working.
I have a problem that is stopping my mc.play() stopping when I try to set the .alpha property of an object.

I have attached the code and have rem // out the alpha lines.

If you can help I can send you the fla to see the problem occuring.

Help Movie Wont Play, Gotoandplay Not Working Properly
hi i have a game which when the user satisfies a condidition the End scene plays

the counter incriment works fine, when the condition is satisfied frame 4 is displayed but it doesnt play, it is just static, however if i press play on the timeline frame 4 onwards works fine.

Play Button Not Working; Touch Position Bar And Audio Starts.
Hi, I'm not the best at flash and this has me just dumbfounded. I have a audio player for my site and when it loads it gets the xml data and shows the track title. When I click the play button, I see the position head move to the beginning of the audio but doesn't well...play. If I click on the position slider the audio plays.

If I pause, I can't unpause by hitting play and have to again press on the position slider.

Obviously my play button has to be messed up. Here is the action script for it, I don't know if the problem lies in there but I hope someone can help me out.

Adobe Active Content And Javascript Play Method Not Working On Firefox
I've got a page where I want to play a Flash movie when the user clicks on a button. I've got the Adobe Active Content scripts loaded to get around the IE problem.

On the button I've got the following Javascript code: First a function to get the Flash movie object, then one to play the movie.

Problem is this doesn't work in Firefox - it works in all the other browsers. If I remove the Active Content script and just embed the Flash code, it works fine, so it is something to do with Adobe's script.

"Play" Command Not Working When Published?
Help - I know this has to be an easy thing, but I can't seem to get it working.

When viewing my published animation, I want the viewer to be able to hit enter, have the animation play to the point I have it stop, then they hit enter again to start it again - up to the next stop point and so on.  I can't seem to get a PLAY command to work on just the enter key.

I'm not sure if I can assign the command to the OBJECTs in the animation, or the FRAME...?
