Please Help With Photos

Hello I am very new to this, so I hope I do this right. I am a student, with professors that are just there for the money, not to help the students, so i have a basic question. For a final project, we are making a photo album. I need to find out how if you click a button, that it goes to the next photo. I already have the button, and I am using flash 5. Thanks so much for your time.

Hey how do you make it so when you open the site it reads the number of photos in a folder so lets say theres 10
dcp_1.jpg
dcp_2.jpg
dcp_3.jpg
etc etc
then displays them all in this fashion

the 5 +'s are photos and the arrows make them slide left or right revealing more.. and it keeps slideing untill it hits the last one and bam it slides no more hehehe. OH YEAH LOL these will be thumbs and when you clicked on them it would load the full size pic somewhere on the screen NOW if someone out there is nice enough to help me.. I can do a lot in flash **cant seem to get this lol** and i have a linux box with unlimited space etc etc so i will find a way to thank you.
Any help anyone could give would be GREATLY apreshaited

hi maybe you can help me i am trying to make a site with photos.

the idea is to have 22 thumb. photos on a scrollbar that follows the mouse but only five visible at each time when clicked on the photo comes into a frame above the thumbs full size.
i have seen this but i dont know how to do it
can anyone help me with the code or the tool i can use for that?

I'm using Flash MX2004 to create a web page with photos, but I don't want to display the full resolution images on the page.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to create a pop-up window that will be able to show the full resolution image.

Rip Off Photos

hello everyone, it has been quite some time I have been here..........

yes I know there are a few bits that need "adjusting" however the site is over a yr old and the designer can't be f00ked to do anything about it that is why i am here to ask about the following, as I have to do things myself now.

Altho i am still on f5, i am about to make the jump to MX, thing is I am looking for ways to make my portfolio more attractive........as u can see there is the "fruitmachine" effect between the pix, which aint bad, but i am bored to dfeath with it, esp. after 1 yr. Also I like the wipe in between things...........however i wish to move on therefor I am looking for "new" effects. Now I have been looking arround quite a bit but i can not seem to find what i am looking for.. mainly transitional effects between pix viewing.........

Does anyone know of good links towards this matter where I can learn a thing or two and apply them to me new site...........

sorry if this is the wrong section but i regard myself as a newbie........as i am first and fopremost a photographer who sometimes dabbles w. flash.

Flash Photos?
Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to develop a photo gallery in flash...what i'm trying to do is....prevent from right-click save.....and basically...the photo gallery will have pictures lined up....and whenever the mouse rolls over the one of the pics...it displays bigger in a different part of the movie....
ALSO...
I don't understand...would it be best to create many small movies and interconnect them...for a site?
Or just create one big movie?

How To Keep Photos Smooth?
I posted this in general help but with no response so far. Perhaps they think I should know this so now I'll try the readers of this folder.

When motion tweening a photo, resizing the photo larger or moving it (in this case diagonally), on playback, there are "twinkling" pixels. I don't know if this is called some term, perhaps "crawling, but I tried a supposed fix for crawling which didn't work.

Any help truly appreciated.

Expanding Photos
Hi, I am new to flash And I am making a flash photo album. the way it works is that there are two categories represented by two movie clips. Once eash is clicked the movie clip will animate a little the center in to middle of the page. The problem that i am having is how to get the picture that are part of that category to appear around the center movie clip that was clicked. I want the photos to be able to rotate around the center movie clip. Once one is clicked then it will expnad to a larger view.

Anyone have some tips on how to do this?

Where Can I Find Photos?
I know this is a dumb question that probably everyone has asked at one time or another, but I don't have the time to search through 50 pages of posts.

Could someone tell me where I can find good resources for professional photographs that can be used for websites? I have 1 photo clipart collection that I bought, but I can't seem to find much more? Sites like PictureQuest are great but WAYYY to expensive for me.

Any ideas?

Morphing Photos
How do you do morphing with a picture. I want to take a picture from a small pinpoint all the way to full size. I did it the way in the tutorial and it didn't work. What it did was make the square of the picture bigger but it repeated the pattern over and over. So, instead of making a bigger "a" it made a picture like aaa until it got to the final frame (if that makes sence).

Website To Big Because Of Photos
I am making a simple website that has 30 large photos in a slide show with audio (voice over). The photos are .jpg 600 x 360 pixels.

What is the best way to go about this to get the smallest final file. Should I try to compress the photos and build it in flash or should I make a QuickTime movie and import that (I did this and the 33MB movie, with audio, takes 42 seconds on my DSL line to start playing). Is there a better way?

Dynamic Photos
I'm trying to create a photo gallery and I want to use flash. Basically, when someone rolls over the thumbnails, I want them to pop out to a full-sized image. How can I do that? Is there a tutorial or something I can follow?

Blurred Photos
I have seen a nice effect on some sites where a photo starts out blurry, then comes into focus and was wondering how this is done. The only thing I could think was that two seperate .jpg files were imported, one blurred nad one in focus, and layed on top of one another. Then, the blurred photo is fazed out to reveal to focussed photo behind it. Is this the only way to achieve this effect, with two .jpgs instead of one?

Fading Photos
happy monday all!
i think this is a quick answer, at least i hope so. i have put 3 photos in a movie, to fade in and out of each other. works beautifully.. except! when the last photo fades out, i end with the white background for a split second before it starts from the beginning again. is there a way to make this run seamlessly, witout that interruption?

Photos Issue
I want to have photo's change in and out ona page there is 4 photo on the page all differant and they change in and out like the 1st one changes then the 3rd one then 2 and so one not all at once. and the load others random. I thought I could use tween but this I feel would take to long to do and there should be an easier way to do this. Like it could pull the images from a directory and I could change them out if I want by uploading newones. I want to have about 12 photos in the directory sometimes more. Help please.

Hi,
I'm having a problem with photos that are just phasing from top to bottom. The images will all the sudden change for just a second but it leads to not a smooth transition. It's like the photos change ever so slightly for just a moment as they go down. Every image does it and I can't figure out what the problem is. I use the info window to make sure they stay the same up and down. they don't move at all left to right. They remain in the same position except flowing from top to bottom.
Has anyone else had this problem? I'm importing the images as jpg's. I've tried pngs but it doesn't help. The frame rate is set at 30.

Transistions Between Photos
I am making a movie with music using digital photos.

I am using Flash MX Professional 2004.

I need 600 photos for the music to work out to the end of the music.

Am I understanding my tutorial correctly that I need to add a new layer to make a transistion between each photo? (One transistion per layer)

Or is there away to batch process the same transistion to every photo?

I am using the new Document option. I don't know how to use the Flash Slide Presentatin.

Daily Photos?
Hello everybody,
I'm not sure if it is the right forum to ask this, but here is my question.

I'm wondering if it is possible to make a daily gallery with flash (I looked for a good php script for my needs, but i couldnt find one..

What I'm looking for is:

- There will be some images that will be changed everyday
- All images will be in a director (with their thumbnails)
- The thumbnail will be shown my site's index page (a small swf).
- The thumbnail will change every 24 hours, and each thumbnail must call its bigger/original version. And it'd be great if the original one opens in a small window.

Is it possible to make this in flash?

Best Way To Load Photos In Mc
I have a flash file that i'm working on that features a photo and then 4 buttons (mcs) over the top of it each on a separate layer. presently i have an onrollover command so that the button starts flashing when the suer rolls over it. there is then an action to go to a certain frame within the mc and play onpress. this makes a photo relative to the button fade in over the top of the original background photo. the same happens in reverse onrollout. make sense so far??

my problem is that the image that loads onclick, covers up the other buttons on layers in the root of the movie.

i need to know how to keep these visible when clicking a button and a new photo loading over the top.

any help would be great. i can email you an swf so you can see what i mean if that helps (too large to post).

Thumbnails And Photos
Hello,

I have 60 thumbnails on the stage and 60 photos on the library. Using the
"onPress" function, how can I assign the corresponding photo to each thumbnail
and attach it to a single movieClip called "holder"?

I realized that using this code:

Won't Play My Photos

I tried the tutorial "building your first flash aplication" but instead of using the dimentions/text/images provided I decided to use my own to personalise it.
I folowed the step by step tutorial exactly, using the same names for the movie clips, images etc. I thought in theory all i needed to change was the text that i wanted to use.

What I have is a 550px X 400px stage with a transparent blue section at the bottom with 2 text boxs, and a "next" button.

When I test the movie and press next, the text changes as it should but the screen remains grey instead of displaying the photos.
I have tried moving the images folder to different locations (in the same folder as the .fla file, in the folder above the .fla file etc.) but none of it seems to work, i have also checked that all of the symbols and movie-clips are named as they should be but nothing works. I know that the button is working fine because it changes the text when i click it.

Here is the action script i have.

Is it possible to move a photo across a screen without it jumping, warping or bouncing?

More specifically, is it possible to pan into a photo without it jumping, warping or bouncing?

Swap Photos In .fla?
I'm working on a website with a Flash gallery on each "section front."

The default gallery I was given has five photos, with captions, that fade in and out. How do I use that .fla file as a template. ie. I want to, say, rename it and then put five different photos and captions in, while retaining the existing timeline and fade effects.

Help With Photos In Banner
Can you help me with this problem as I cant seem to work around it. I have imported three small photos into a banner and they fade in and out timed to text. Thing is, they move, ie they seem to pixel jump when they animate. Does anyone know how I stop this and what I mean by this please?
