Does flash have anything like an outerglow or a motion blur, or any blur filters or tools?

Can You Blur An Individual Cube Or Plane In Papervision And Not The Viewport.
Hi, I am trying to blur just 1 object out of many in my 3d Scene. I found tons of examples on blurring but they where all blurring the container/viewport (and doing so blurring all the 3d objects). anyone got an idea how to do this fairly easy.

I would like to create a button with text that glows red when moused over and fades back to it's normal color when moused off, and stays the glow color on click. Can someone help illustrate the best way to do this or post a sample file for me to look at? THANKS!

Hi everyone! I have created a slideshow which pulls in images with xml and then places them in a horizontal row in the middle of the stage. I have a previous and next button which cycles through the images.

I am trying to make the images blurry except for the one that is front and center on the screen. As you cycle through the images, they are blurry until they get to the center. How would I go about doing this?

I have imported the BlurFilter, but when I apply it to the imageholder mc, all of the images are blurry. How can I tell it to not blur the one currently in the center of the stage?

How do I make a Glowing object?

Inner Glow?
I know that Flash can't reproduce some of the things you can do in Photoshop and Illustrator, so I'm trying to find some other way that I can accomplish a particular effect I need to carry through an entire project -- an inner glow:

Can anyone think of a good way to reproduce the inner glow I have around the inside of the frame? I can create the same thing in Illustrator or PS and import them, but then the art never looks as crisp no matter what settings I try on the import/export.

So IS there a way to do this in Flash? Or failing that, is it possible to export/import this cleanly from either PS or AI?

I wrote some text and gave it a little outer glow. I was wondering if there was a way that I could do that in Flash without tracing a pasted bitmap. I was using Adobe Photoshop and I would be using the image for a simple animation (nothing to complicated). I apologize if this thread has already been addressed. Any help would be appreciated.

Im trying to find out how the fade in GLOW effect is done that is at http://www.pixelranger.com. The logo fades in with a glow that gets brighter then the glow subsides and the pic fades. The only way ive seen to create that glow is to Soften the edges in flash but i cannot animate it. Please help or maybe (shudder) i just have to goto photoshop and make each and every frame???

Does anyone know how to make this glow when the buttons move down, and it welds together on the site. U need to click on the high bandwith version to be able to see it. If anybody can help me that would be great.

I am wondering how to get text intact from photoshop and/or fireworks to flash. I am trying to have a glow effect on a logo and some text that pulsates on and off, I can do the glow in the graphics software and I can do the tweens in Flash.
I would also like the text to be editable so I can break apart and have the letters enter the stage at different times.

I guess my question is... how do I get text with attributes (glow, shadow, stroke etc.) from photoshop and/or fireworks into flash???

Glow Effect With JPG's
Hello everyone,
I have a quick question regarding a commonly seen effect. Essentially, you have an image that starts off with a big glow..almost like color dodge in Photoshop. And then it fades in with the normal looking image.

almost like....there is a sun on the image and then it fades out. Not sure if I did the best job of articulating the image effect. Please let me know if you guys have any thoughts. Thank you

I'm having a bit of a problem, I'm drawing some lines using AS and I want them to glow, I was thinking of converting each line segment into a movie clip then apply the glow filter but I think this would be too taxing for flash (possibly hundreds of lines on screen at once), my question : is there a way of applying glow to lines without having to convert them to MCs? Maybe there's an algorithmic way to generate glow ?

The other alternative would be to make a "glowing line" in photoshop then attach and stretch the MC as the user draws a stroke, but since that "glowing line" would be a "graphic" element (not vector) I would get all sorts of aliasing problems.

To test wether the value is decreasing i have used a dynamic text box (and it is going down) but the problem is that the glow still remains the same

How do i make it so that when the button is pressed the glow decreases, does it need to loop the frame somehow so it reloads the script?

anyways I think the lines get a little to edgy so i thought it would get better if I added some glow around the line if thats possible with actionscript?

Random Glow
Hi guys,
I'm making a website and I need some help with the effects (I'm kind of new to this--which you'll see pretty quickly ). I am planning on having some circles (it's hard to explain, but they're art) on the site, and I'm looking for an effect that will randomly make individual circles glow. I thought about putting the circles in movie clips with corresponding glow effects in separate movie clips behind them, and then having a script call the glow clips in randomly. But the only tutorials I could find call the movie clips in on load, and I want it to happen while the page is being viewed, and not just each time the page is visited. I don't know if this is a really bad idea/way of doing it, but if anyone has any ideas or suggestions I'd really appreciate it .

I've been searching around everywhere not finding the info I want so now I,ve decided that someone here is bound to know how to make a realistic glow effect. Like a kind of animated light that slightly pulses a coloured glow. It is for an interface I am attemping to build.

Could I get away with generating all the graphics in Flash MX? I want these lights to be links too. I'm thinking of making a button with graphics on different layers animating on the hit and over states to create this effect. Could I get a mc on to a hit state and so on?

How To Give Glow To Symbol?
I hope this doesn't sound 2 ridiculous.
Basically i've been working with Flash long now. Use FlashMX now.

I have never been able to create an Outer Glow or Glow Effect in Flash. I've always had to import Glow Images from Photoshop. But with that comes many problems, as in Transparency etc.

I would like to give Glow to my Objects in Flash itself. Be it a vector i have made in flash, or an Image imported from Photoshop. How can i create a Glow in Flash. Of late i have seen Flash Movies with glow in them, which i dont' feel has been imported, so i do think it's possible.

Can anyone help me?
