Pop-up Window In Flash Demo
Hi guys,
I have a flash presentation, and do have some diagrams, and after clicking on it Pop-up window should open.
Could you please let me know, if any simple action-script available for this.

Doing A Demo Which Opens Projector Need Some Help Opening A New Window
when someone loads the cd it will auto start the intro followed by the actual demo which will be played off of projector full screen.
i then need to open index4.html in the same directory at 745 x 672
in a new window
any one know how to do this?
most tuts ive seen deal with having some javascript in the html holding the swf but since this is a projector file i dont know how to do it.

Flash Amp (me Or The Demo)

Flash Demo Help
Hi Friends,
Here i preparing 1 flash demo. In this i need to implement a voice to read the contents which is display in the demo. Meanwhile i want to add some typing sound in the playback.
I called the voice by using the linkage property with actionscript.
and i called the typing sound in frames.
The problem is i cant get the typing sound.

Flash Cd Demo?

Tradeshow Flash Demo
Which dimensions do you think I should design "stretchy" flash (to fill a screen) for a setup that has the following conditions:
42" 16:9 aspect ratio plasma screen and 1280x1024 resolution. The laptop that drives it runs SVGA, which I think is 1024 x 768
I would imagine I would want to stay with the dimensions of the computer's output, but the 16:9 aspect ratio, I'm afraid, may stretch the width or height.

Situation:

Developers From The Flash Demo
I attended a Flash Seminar at the DGA (Los Angeles) building last month. Sadly, I can't find the notes that I have on the people that showcased their sites. We are looking to contact the developers of three particular flash sites, namely:
1) The site that opens with a shot of earth, a loud explosion efffect, and some cool date navigational stuff related to the flash development timeline.
2) A red bull site where you have a real-time map of the skier, plus you have an option of switching camera views.
3) A site that was supposed to be on online version of a board game, where you try to guess a word described by people uploading their video clues.
It would be of great help if anyone can provide the URL for these sites - or the brains behind them. Thank you.

Flash CS4 Demo - Buggy
I downloaded and installed the Flash CS4 demo today to give it a trial run. It crashed as soon as I attempted to use it. I attempted again and now have the SBBOD. Oh, and now Flash CS3 crashes too after having installed the upgrade. Naturally bad timing since I'm working on a Flash project.
I'm on a Mac with OS 10.4.11
[Edited] I found the separate Uninstall File, so I'll remove Flash CS4 from my system. Hopefully I can get Flash CS3 back and running.

Flash Demo Filesize.
Does anyone know the average filesize of a Flash demo? I know it varies, but I am doing one now that is about 4 minutes long, with 4 distinct sections and 6 audio clips. I am up to 2.5 megs, and I just finished the intro!

App Demo In Flash - Mouse Movement
I am creating a flash demo with narration to walk a user through an application. I am trying to avoid doing a bizillion screengrabs of the demo-ed application to show the mouse movement of a someone using it - clicking on items etc... Is there something out there that would make this easier? A way to record the movements on the monitor and import it into flash?
..or am I dreaming? (which isn't bad, but I don't have time to invent anything right now )

Linking To Powerpoint From A Flash Demo
I just linked to a powerpoint file from Flash and it opens a browser windo instead of Powerpoint the program.

light-weight and not too serious or intellectual as I have to get the point

Full Flash Site Demo
Hi guys!
I found a thread before about displaying a portfolio made form a flash, i saw someone reply to theat post and make a kind of a mini-flash site, the problem is I cant find it ANYWHERE in this Flash MX forum, I've searched the whole forum.
When I need help is a flash site, I've seen the tutorial on this site about the full flash site, but that still does not quite fulfil my question. What would be more better, is that if someone could kindly attatch a flash file, so I could see how a flash site is made, with the animated buttons and how the hyperlinks are made. there does not need to be any real content, I just need to see how a good flashy flash site would be made.

Flash Demo And Presentation Program
Hi there,
I'm looking for a cheap and easy to use program that allows me to create a simple flash "feature tour" of my website. I don't necessary need to record on screen action, I just need some simple animations of screenshots with the possibility to add sound and some animation effects...
Programs like captivate or camtasia (or so) cost several hundred dollars. Since I only need to create this single presentation, I don't want to spend that much.

Robo Demo Does Not Work With Flash MX 2004
A heads up for those of you looking to purchase RoboDemo and edit movies in Flash with the FLA Module:
The FLA Module does not work with Flash MX 2004. The cursor motion tweens are misdirected for every mouse action. The FLA Module will also corrupt the import function on your system, preventing the import of movies, sound, and some images.
Macromedia just bought out robodemo, so there may be a fix in the future (no date set, and no promise that these problems will be solved), but for now, it doesn't work. The product doesn't come with any free customer support, and they won't stand behind the product (the customer support email address kicks back a 'not-received' message) - too bad, because it'd be pretty slick if the whole thing worked. just a heads up...

Building A Dynamic Weather Maps Flash MX Demo
Because I work for a company that aggregates a wealth of different kinds of data from weather to energy to commodities, I wanted to create a PC wallpaper application that would enable our clients to click on a tab at the side of their computer screen and display various types of information retrieval services. One tab would let you check the latest equity prices from stocks to corn. A second tab would display the latest wire service headlines and by clicking on a headline you could read the latest newswire story. A third tab would display a drop-down menu system for various weather maps including current conditions,regional radar images and world satellite images.
I now have all three of these components working and am gradually integrating them into a single flash movie that will be available to our clients as either individual Flash components or as a consolidated SWF wallpaper application.
Because this forum has been helpful in either pointing me in the direction to solutions for various problems or providing me with a soap box to air those problems, and thereby helping me verbalize the problem and come up with the solutions on my own, I thought I would share with the group a demonstration version of the weather maps application I have been wrestling with the past week. Novices like myself may find it useful as a reference on how to build a flash menu system and to pull, resize and reposition JPEG images using a combination of attachMovie() and createEmptyMovieClip() functions.
Due to the number of images that accompnay the flash files, I wasn't able to upload the ZIP file to the forum, which has a 102,000 byte limit. So, if you would like to download the 919,004 bytes demo, it will be available at the following URL:

Please note that this Flash MX demo is very basic and lacks many of the refinements I plan to incorporate into the version that will eventually be part of the final application. For example, the menus don't automatically collapse if you don't select a map to view. Also for obvious security reasons, I included a set of static weather maps dated from August 19, 2003. The working version pulls the most current images from the Meteorlogix image server.
There is a ReadMe text file that accompanies the images, .fla, .swf and .html files for this application. I hope you enjoy it. It was challenging to develop and ultimately very simple in its final structure.

Urgent Help Needed With 2 Screen Flash Sound Demo
I have to get a small demo of this ready to show a potential client for Tomorrow - is there any way anyone could help?
I have to have screen 1 with 40 buttons (each will eventually have it's own sound, but for the demo, I only need 2 different sounds), and when you click on a button, the sound plays, and you can also click on a "add to cart" button. When 2 sounds have been added to the cart you go to screen 2 and see 2 buttons - 2 correspond with the sounds you chose on screen 1 and will play these sounds when clicked, and the third plays both sounds together, one after the other.

Creating A Showreel/demo Reel With Flash Movies
Hi,
I want to make a showreel/demoreel of my flash character animation work as opposed to making a portfolio website. It is purely flash movies with no interactivity and so I want to make a linear showreel (or just very long movie of my work). I have just found that it is near impossible to import flash .swf files as quicktime movies into After Effects as AE 7 doesn't seem to read the quicktime movies, or quicktime doesn't read the swfs, I don't really know.
Does anyone know of a quick way to edit my flash movies into a demo reel format? Are there any freeware packages that I could use. I would want to ouput to either swf or a quicktime file.

The main technology is 3D slice engine.
Actually, it will become a further development of old flash mode-7 and z-mapping engine.
But it still has lots of limitations; you can't look freely at any angle but at some static angles.

they must have more transformations. (But it's easy if you want to look up or down, some small change of original code will do)
This time I release this demo just to show you the core code to map the ground texture, create the sky, and calculate and update the position of objects.
Not much optimization there, so it's very slow.
Don’t worry; the further demo I will release will be much better and the code structure may be very different.
There will be real time shadows, physics, water, walls, ceilings terrain and more!

A New Generation Of Flash Mode7(prerelease Demo With As3.0 Source)
Z-Ground is the ‘level editor’ of F.L.A.S.W.F. It is used to set up and display objects in a fake 3D space.
The main technology is 3D slice engine.
Actually, it will become a further development of old flash mode-7 and z-mapping engine.
But it still has lots of limitations; you can't look freely at any angle but at some static angles.

Launched Windows Loosing Focus To Full Screen Flash Demo?
It's a pretty weird problem:
I made an executable flash demo that runs in full screen.
I have several links in it that open external html and PDF files, as well as several links to download zip archives.
Sometimes (very often!) when I click on one of those external links, PDF file opens, but it quickly looses focus and goes in the background, being replaced with the full screen demo.
The only way to push the opened PDF/IE window back is to use ALT+TAB.
Same thing happens with a dialog that asks you to save/open zip file. Sometimes It appears in the front, that quickly goes to backgroud.
It's as if my demo is somehow 'stealing' the focus from other applications, and I haven't done anything in flash that would actually be doing that.
It only happens when demo is running in full screen. If it's in window, it never steals the focus.
I used Flash MX and my OS is Windows XP.

Bad Demo
I downloaded the trial version of Flash MX from Macromedia.com, all 46mg of it (bearing in mind im a 56ker). After a 2 and a half hour wait, the poxy thing didnt download right. Instead of a .zip file or a setup program, all i got was a "file" which prompts the "open with" window. Im extremely aggetated by it and was wondering if anyone knows how i could get it to work properly without having to download the god damn thing again.

Getting A Demo From AS2 To AS3
Most the demos i find on sites with tutorials are still in AS2, i know very little AS2 and prefer AS3 because of how solid it is. I recently found a demo on how to make a jet pack(it messes with some different equations to create gravity, etc...). I'm trying to bring it over to AS3 so i can expand upon it and create something. I've been trying to do it, but i cant figure it out. They have an enter frame event that checks for different things including Key Downs but i cant get this to work out right in AS3. I attached the AS2 original demo file if anyone is willing to help me out please just post the code in AS3 i would greatly appreciate the help. If you want to see what i have in AS3 so far please just PM me. If i can figure this out soon i'll post what it looks like in AS3 for anyone else that might try this and get stuck. I've only been doing actionscripting for about 3 months at this point but i have a very good understanding of it. THANKS FOR ALL HELP!

Looking For Demo
I once saw a multimedia demo that shoed the advantages of using Flash to build a Web application. This particular demo emphasized the fact that in a Flash app there was no need to use the "Back" button. It went on to demonstrate that whe you went back or made a mistake in an html app you were forced to start over again. I need to show this demo to my boss and would very much appreciate it if someone could point me to it.

I am in need of some guidance. I am going to create a demo for an online application. The demo is very basic. It will demonstrate users where to go to login and take them through some steps on how to use the application. I want the demo to run as if they were watching a video. With the ability to play, pause, stop and rewind/foward. I would also like to have a slider as well. A great example would be on macromedias website (http://www.macromedia.com/devnet/flash/articles/vidtemplate_mediapreso.html). The problem is that I am not using video. I will create the movie from screen shots. Is there something that I can use that is similar to the playback controls for video? Or, can I use the playback controls in flash for a regular swf? As you can see from my thread, I have limited experience in flash. Thanks in advance for any suggestions/help.

Voice To A Demo

I have done a flash presentation. In the presentaion there is text explaining some images etc. I would like to have a voice over reading the text. I am going to hire a prefessional one but I have some questions.
What is the best format saving a voice for flash? This presentation is going to be on the web.
Should a make a new movie for the voice or just in a new layer?
The voice should syncronizice with the text.
Is it anything else I should know about this before start working on it?
How big file is possible to be on the web. This presentation is knpw about 5 - 6 minutes long and 480K.
How big could it be with the voice?
