I posted the below message on the Flash General discussion forum last week, but no answer yet. Maybe someone in this forum can help, or suggest where I can find the answer.

Is it possible to use Flash, or any other Adobe software, to merge a powerpoint presentation with video/audio of the speaker who used the ppt presentation? What I'm looking for is a way to present both online (streaming) and on DVD, a window where the viewer can see (and hear) the presenter (speaker) next to a window where the ppt slides change automatically (synchronized).
I've some accross another software, the Softv Presenter (http://www.softv.net/Public/presenter4.asp), which can do what I'm looking for. However, since I already have Adobe's CS3 Web, Design and Production Premium suites, I was hoping that I could use what I already have to accomplish my task.

Video And Powerpoint
This may not be the proper forum for this sorta thing but, I've asked all my techy friends to no avail. Does anyone know how to take video from a dvd or beta and edit that on a computer for use in PowerPoint. I was volunteered by my boss (who thinks because I'm youngish I can do anything technical) to help with someones ppt presentation. They want to insert certain clips of videos in the presentation. Easy enough, except I have no idea how to get it from the source to my HD. Any suggestions are welcome.

FLV Video & SWF Powerpoint

i was wondering if there is any way to combine a FLV video with a powerpoint presentation made into a SWF. we'd like it to look like the video presentation found here: http://www.healthpolitics.org/

if you click on the video (main img) a pop-up will appear and there is a link that has a video/powerpoint presentaiton...

my question is how is it possible to link up the powerpoint SWF and the video FLV so that when the video pauses or plays, fastfowards or rewinds the video and the powerpoints sync up.

my thought was to embed everything in the timeline and control it through there which would mean time placing and timing the points to the video... is there a simplier and easier way? our knowledge of actionscript is basic so hopefully it would be too complicated but i have a feeling it will be.

Can't Get A Flash Video To Play In Powerpoint
I am publishing a flash movie as a swf, and as a quicktime movie. I tried to insert the movie into powerpoint and it says that I'm missing an extension or the movie file is non-santdard? Even opening the file in quicktime it says that I am missing an extension. What am I doing wrong??? Someone plese help! Thanks

Is it after effects, or is there some keyer ability in MX studio to assist ... Plus, what are the importer parameters that work best for speed, quality, best results. [F8] Logitech Presenter 2.4 GHz And Flash
Hey all,

I am doing my initial reasearch on this topic for one of my clients. Has anyone successfully connected a Logitech Presenter 2.4GHz Wireless with any type of Flash? (browser, swf, exe... etc) I publish on OS X but my client is on XP.

I looked throughout Logitech's site and, of course, there isn't any mention of Mac support but with Flash, I'm guessing it shouldn't really matter. I will probably get access to an XP test laptop in a week or so but, again, I just started looking into this.

If you've reasearched this avenue before, I would love to hear some of the DOs & DON'T bothers.

Problems With Logitech Cordless 2.4 GHz Presenter
the fact is that next week i've got a very important presentation and all my job made in flash may not be seen ¡f i don't make work this brand new Logitech Cordless 2.4 GHz Presenter which works with powerpoint but not with flash!! (not with .swf, .exe, I'v e tried everything)

How To Control Flash With Wireless Presenter?
Hi there, did anyone know how to control flash with wireless presenter or a PDA Phone? I have problem with this, i see many presenter are using wireless presenter to control powerpoint slides instead of standing near the pc/laptop to press next button with finger, i'm wondering whether the wireless presenter works with flash too? and i own a pda phone, i can treat it as a powerpoint remote presenter, but it can't work with flash, any help is much appreciated!

From Adobe Flash To Articulate Presenter?
I created an animation in Adobe Flash that is 120 seconds long, 4.0 FPS, at 29.8s. I have one scene created and about 20 layers.

However, when I export as a movie (.swf file) so that I could import from Articulate Presenter then view it in Articulate Presenter, it plays EXTREMELY fast (the whole 120 second animation in about 30 seconds. I've adjusted the FPS and the S in Adobe Flash several times, then re-exported each time, but nothing seems to work.

Then I tried to 'Publish" my Flash animation instead of export as a movie. However, the same problem still exists.

All I want is for my animation to play at a normal pace while in Articulate Presenter. Any ideas??

I made an attempt to create a homepage banner with Microsoft PowerPoint and a third party tool Wondershare PPT2Flash Professional.I will show you in details in this article.

I think it’s hard to believe. But when I finished this work and publish it to web as a homepage successful, finally I believe. An idea to share it with all flash newbies and design fans pops up in my mind. That’s main reason for me to write this article.
Let’s start to create our PowerPoint work as a homepage now. I believe, PowerPoint is able to work in companion with Flash in future.

Ok, let’s begin our design tour.I will show you step by step. ^_^

My showcase: sample.swf

First, you must be sure that your PC has Microsoft PowerPoint installed. Launch the PowerPoint software. Setup it as follows:

1. File -> Page Setup. (Set the width and height as you like; I’ve set it as the below screenshot.)

2) Add Effect -> emphasis -> select one you want
3) Add Effect -> exit -> select one you want

5. Insert the photos and add effects to photos (three animations: entrance | emphasis | exit)

Open Powerpoint File From A Flash Movie Embedded In A Powerpoint File
hello everybody,

I need to open powerpoint files from a flash movie that will run within a powerpoint presentation.
So far I have understood the concept of fscommand and have been able to open powerpoint files from a flash projector. I have not been able to import the flash projector within powerpoint (I do not think it is possible anyway).

Note: I use flash mx 2004

SWF In PowerPoint - Is This Bug Being Ignored ?
There is a known bug when inserting swf into powerpoint - it appears upside down at the beginning.
I couldn't find any solution for this in Macromedia's site or flashgeek.com .
Is this bug being ignored ??! How can it be that it won't be fixed untill the next release of Flash Player (I currently have 6.0.29.0) ??

Any known solution for this ?

Is there anyway that I can import flash movie into powerpoint???
Have tried to export flash as .avi or .mov but the resolution no good.
There is always an error message stating that "either the file is non-standard or quicktime is not installed properly" when I tried to insert the .swf file. Can someone please help???

Ok, I figured out how to insert a .swf file into a PowerPoint presentation. I start the Slide Show and the .swf plays. But when that same page loops back it doesn't play. It's a frozen image of the end of the flash.

How do I reset the flash so it starts again each time the presentation loops?

Swf In Powerpoint
I am brand new to using Swish. I have developed a simple 15 second countdown timer. I have loaded the timer into a powerpoint XP slide presentation. The timer and slide show transistions are both set for 15 seconds. If I advance the slide manually with a mouse click, the next time I view the slide, my timer starts from the point it ended.

How can I have the timer automatically start at the beginning?

How do you input a swf in Powerpoint XP. I used instructions on how to include it in PP 2000, but that doesn't work in the latest powerpoint.(XP)

I tried to integrate it in a powerpoint presentation, wich is possible if i save the swf as a flash 5 file, but powerpoint doesn't read any of the actionscript. Here's what i wanna do people. I am creating a presentation so not necessary web. I got an intro swf. at the end of the intro I want to spawn a powerpoint file on a new window. The browser-firefox-does not seem to recognize the format so how can i work around this? The only way I can think of, is export powerpoint to a format readable on the browser. If I convert my intro swf to exe, and spawn window. will the window be a browser window. i am bit lost. help!

Mac Powerpoint
I'm working in Powerpoint 2004 for the Mac version 11.2.4. The help menu says that a .swf file can be played, but when I do an import movie, it only displays the first frame. Is there something that I need to add to Powerpoint (like ActiveX on windows), to make this work. I've tried all different flash player versions.
Could someone please steer me in the right direction?

I'm researching solutions to implement a Microsoft PowerPoint file conversion to SWF on a Web Based application. I already have a lot of interface based and commercial solutions listed as FlashSpring for example.

Does anyone here knows any open source solution?

I found JODConverter, but it requires OpenOffice installed and it's not a good alternative to our project.

Also, it would be great to receive indications to good information on develop our own converter in Java, but in this case, I really don't know where to start from... I'm already researching infomations on PPT file specification and SWF specification but I haven't found any good information on how to use these specifications yet.

FLV In PowerPoint
I have my FLV file (which I do not want to be SWF). Adobe's KB only talks about SWF files. I have tried that method with an FLV file and it does not work. Does anyone know how to play FLV files in Microsoft PowerPoint? Or is it impossible? I believe it probably has something to do with ActionScript. Help anyone?

almost everday (except sundays) I get frustrated with PowerPoint. Incompatability between OSs, incompatability between versions, incompatability within. One day I work on a presentation, the next day I can start over again - it aint working no more. For all of you who believe there must be a better way to communicate and other than with PowerPoint, perhaps you are interested in the following. The attached PPT subsitute it is far from perfect and easy to handle for non-experts, but it shines a little light towards less frustration with PP.

Constructive criticism and ideas to optimize are most welcome.

The features are as follows:

- Fixed screen resoultion (havent tested it on beamer)
- swf opens fullscreen (on both MAC and PC)
- mouseclick advance, shift click go back
- arrow keys navigation (left, right = next, back; up, down = first, last)
- punch in numbers an hit enter to get to higher slide numbers
- cursors inactivity after few secs.
- most importantly of all: FULL FLASH FUNCTIONALITY AVAILABLE...sind FLASH

Fla From Powerpoint
OK, here we go.

I have a dumb assignment to perform which I am not sure can even be done.

We created a Powerpoint for another organization as a favour a couple of years ago *remember this time lapse later* and it has one slide that was created in Flash. This slide does not work and of course the creator a) doesn't work here any more *I told you to remember the time lapse didn't I?*, b) documented diddly squat and finally c) didn't leave the .fla file to work from.

Can I extract the fla from the powerpoint?
Do I have to do anything else to it before I can edit it and try to find out how it broke?

Swf Files In Powerpoint
I have a couple of problems here, and hope to find some help.

I embedded a swf file in a Powerpoint presentation. When I tested it, it worked just fine. But, when I went back thru the Powerpoint presentation, the swf file would not re-run. Is there something I am not doing to cause this? Is it more a Powerpoint thing than the swf file?

Second problem...the Powerpoint presentations are run on a computer (running Win98) with dual monitors. The presentation is shown on the second monitor..sent to a projector, and ultimately to a large screen at the front of the room. The Powerpoint presentation runs fine....the swf file does not work at all...all I get is a blank white slide....I am trying to figure out where the problem lies....and how to solve it.

Any suggestions/help/sympathy would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

I have managed to link a Flash movie to a powerpoint presentation by saving the powerpoint presentation as a .htm file and then using the get URL code linked to a button in Flash. However, when I do this the powerpoint presentation doesn't run very smoothly and it also doesn't kick off the presentation automatcally you have to click the slide show button. Does anyone know a way in which to get the powerpoint movie to run automatically or even better performing this task in a different way? I would appreciate your help.
