Flash :: Preloading...but Blank Screen No Loading Bar

Blank Screen While Preloading..
Hi there,

I have used this preloader for ages and everytime I use it, it works fine..

I have created some flash files for work and while trying to preload 200k or so... The screen goes blank until it has fully loaded the sound file, completely misses the preloader altogether!!!!

The file is too big to unload.. not by much.

Preloading Technologies - Has Blank Screen
Hi there,

I used preloading in my movie. However, when I launch it on the web. It shows blank screen for about 5 secound and then has the background color I set ( in flash ).

Is there a way to prevent it?

I know...

1. the size can't be 2 big
2. use preload swf to load it into stage (createEmptyMovieClip )
3. connection speed
...
...

this is not happen in Flash 5

Any suggestions?

Why The Blank Screen?
When I uploaded my site it shows a blank screen to people that don't have a flash 6 player installed, what do I do to let other versions see it as well, and how come it won't publish other versions of it? Do I have to do a simpler site for everyone else? Or how do I load the html version? Anyone please help thanks for your time. (Please explain it very simply I am very new at this.)

I flew to chicago this week and I went to my hotel and pulled up my site and I got the html part of site but not the flash content. I see a blank square where it should be but nothing. I guess something should be added to the html part?

I usually keep my Flash plugin up to date, but from time to time I encounter a prompt (usually when I am on a different computer) to upgrade/download the Flash plugin. This seems to be a standard screen, because I have seen the same one over and over again. How do I incorporate this into my Flash designs? The problem I have is that sometimes I am told that that only a blank screen is visible, and is resolved if I go load the current plugin on that computer (or ask the person to do it on theirs). How do I know that Anyone who surfs to one of my designs will be able to see it and how do I give the the visual aids needed to get the proper plugin?

Blank Screen When Using Compression

I have a quite simple clip including a movie. If i enable compression, the .swf loads and i only get a white screen.

With disabled compression everything works fine...

ok iv got a problem with a flash intro iv downloaded!!..the index file & swf file have uploaded ok into smart.ftp...but when you go to my site(netfirms) iv got a blank white screen where the movie is suppose to play??..it works fine on smart..y not on my site?

The images are in the same folder as the flash is. The images are changed by a button and theres 3 images.

Blank Screen After Preloader
Hi,

I'm one of the It Team for Mooble.com and i wanted to ask you people if you can give me some clues or any data on the problem we have encountered, which is:

While user wants to enter our webpage he sees the preloader and after preloader finisheds there is only a "blank page" in our case it is a purple screen with no other flash files loaded. It appears only on some computers and not always but it is a big problem 'couse people can't get insde our web community.
We have checked it and we assume there can be something wrong with the web browser-flash/php/js communication and maybe a service packs or internet security and firewalls.
To check it try to open http://www.mooble.com - it's not and advert so you don't have to join only check if it's loading the main page after the preloader (page with login and join fields)

I am using loadMovie to load various swf files. Before a swf is loaded, i see a blank white screen for about a second. I am loading these swf files into the same level (level 0) because I dont want them running at the same time because it slows up performance. How can I eliminate this white screen? Is there a way to load a new swf into a different level and also close the previous swf?

Preloader Blank Screen?
Hi folks,

I'm having a bit of a problem with a preloader. It's basically a free one that I've downloaded and I've modified it a little bit to fit in with the site. Anyway, the problem I'm having is that the progress bar kicks in at around 60% which has confused me a bit! The preloader is on frame 1 and the rest of the movie starts at frame 2, so in theory it should work.

I've noticed while viewing the bandwidth profiler that 32k is loading in before the preloader appears, although there's nothing there to load in?! This probably explains why the screen is blank for a while. I've used the same preloader on an MP3 player I'm working on at www.fmedesign.co.uk/mp3player.htm and it works fine there. Hmmmm.....

Anyway, the url of the .swf is www.kingswoodtherapy.co.uk/navigation.swf - if anyone knows why the preloader isn't appearing straight away their help would be greatly appreciated.

.swf Won't Play - Blank Screen
Hello,

I had my flash designer take a 16MB .mpg file and convert it to a 2MB .swf
file.

I created a "blank" .hmtl page and dropped in the .swf - which shows up as
the white box on this page:

After I got a blank screen, I uploaded the .flv (2MB) and the .fla (14MB)
files to the server as well (same folder as the .html file) but that didn't
help - same blank screen.

Can anyone help me understand why this .swf won't play?

Blank Screen And IE Cache
Hi,

this is a little difficult to explain so please bear with me. Our app is entirely wrapped in a single swf and uses Remoting to retrieve data. When the app loads we show a homepage. The user can navigate to different parts of the app through a menu system. When off the homepage, the user can navigate back to the homepage again through code which basically executes "gotoAndStop("main")" code.

Now the interesting part. If I am in Firefox, this works perfectly. If I am in IE and my settings are as follows: "Tools>Options>Settings...>Automatically", it works fine. If I change to "Every visit to the page", the user experiences a blank screen when the "gotoAndStop("main")" code executes.

I am tearing my hair out trying to figure this out. Any help appreciated.

Preloading An SWF And Play It At A Specific Time Into A Blank MC

Here it is,
I have the main movie play an intro until it plays up to where the buttons appear and stops.
Then you click on the "school" button and its script says: on release, goto and play 235. On frame 235 I have a door closing and then opening with the school.swf loading into a blank MC called school-swf. But how do I make sure that this school.swf is fully loaded before it plays?
I would like the door to stay closed in the main movie until the school.swf is loaded, then It would play another part of the timeline where the door will open and display or play frame 2 of the school.swf which is where I have the movie start since I put a blank stop frame in frame 1.
On the main timeline just after the door closes I have a

I know something must be wrong with this as I'm still a beginner with action script.

Blank White Screen, No Swf File
I embedded my swf file into the html page. Where the swf file should be, it comes up blank. The swf file is only 169k and works fine on my computer. The files are all in the same place, yet only the html files and jpgs work. The swf files don't. help please.

I've put a preloader on all my swf's. this is on frame 4 on a mc with the preloader bar. I've got a stop action on this frame aswell. Heres the code:

[F8] Why The Blank Screen Between Loaded Movies?
Hi all, I am new here and new to Flash, so I appreciate your patience and kindness in replying. I guess we all have to start somewhere.

I have created about 10 .swf files and have them running in sequence via "LoadMovie" in the action script panel. I have put it on the last frame of each movie in the actions layer which is above all other layers.

The thing is, i notice a white screen appear for about 1 frame between each movie. Can I avoid this? Why can't I just have all the movies run smoothly together without having this white screen?

i did it like this because the movie is very long and I didn't want to have a complicated and busy timeline. Plus my boss is likely to change his mind about a million times before the movie is ready.

I tried to explain it as best as I can, but I am afraid I am not that comfortable with all the jargon yet.

How To Have Image Instead Of Blank Player Screen
I know virtually nothing about Dreamweaver and Flash...I know how to update page, embed .flv files, etc, and how to encode videos, but that's it. I am a videographer by trade. I am putting videos up on my new website and they are not going to be autostart. How can I have an image instead of a blank screen show on the inactive player?

In my flex application, I set:

_view.stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN;

but when that happens, all I get is a full-black screen with a message that explains how I can press Esc to exit this mode...

Any ideas what would cause that to break in this way? When I run my application through Flex Builder, the fullscreen works absolutely fine.

I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.12 with the latest Flash player version (115)

Preloading Into A Blank MC , If Frames Loaded ,play Timeline

I'm a real newbie when it comes to AS. I really need some help with this one to make my first flash site. I must be missing a small bit of code or something. Here's what i've got.

I have the main movie play an intro until it plays up to where the buttons appear and stops.
Then you click on the "school" button AS:

loadMovie ("school.swf", "_root.schoolSwf");
}

I put a blank stop frame in the school.swf. I don't know if I need to do that or not.

On frame 235 I have a door closing and then a few frames later, a MC plays to act as a preloader until the "school.swf" loads. The AS for this MC:

Blank Screen Flash When Using Loadmovie With Swfs In Cache
Hi all
I'm an avid lurker, but this is my Very First Post!

I'm loading external swfs into a mc using loadMovie and if the user reloads one of the swfs I get a flash of a blank screen before the movie loads.(since the file is cached)

I am using a preloader and I've put in a test for if fully loaded, then dont display the preloader, but I still get a momentary white flash.

I vaguely remember reading something about using loadMovieNum and loading into a level then duplicating a mc in another level underneath then using the duplicated level underneath to show through instead of the blankscreen - Anyone tried this or something else?

Blank Screen In Flash 8 Video Encoder With DivX
When using the Flash 8 video encoder to encode a DivX file, I get a blank screen. No problem with the wmv files I've tried. this is on two freshly purchased HP Windows Media Center XP PCs. Have not had the same issue with our older Dell PCs, also XP(Pro not Media Center). I have re-installed Flash 8 and the Divx codecs but still have the issue.

Any ideas?

Point Blank: Full Screen Browser Window, With A Flash File Centered Both Horizontall
Here is the deal.

I would like to create a flash popup that creates a browser window that goes fullscreen. Not the fullscreen that takes over the whole screen, and you need to esc to get out. But fullscreen so in a window that has no toolbars, search bar, etc.

That's the first challenge. Within that window, I have a flash file that is 1100 x 700. I would like to have that swf centered both vertically and horizontally. I would also like to have the background of that file extend to all sides....so that I can change the color of the background. To accomplish this I used this link and modified the file that came with it...

It was working on Internet explorer....automatically launching a full screen pop up. But it doesn't even work on safari or firefox. I was using a code that I got from some pop up java code generator.

Is there a way to do what I'm trying to do? I've been wrestling with this for so long. I want it to just go away. If you could impart your wisdom on me, and or post an fla, or html file....that would be amazing.

Movie Loading Into Bankmc Is Loading Blank After Its Been Published
I created this site where it loads movies into a blankmc on in the main Fla file. It works fine when I view it on my computer. And Broadband connections show no problem. But on dial up connection. when you click a bar on the navigation. The fla movie loads in blank. You have to click another button then click on the previous but to load. Why is that?

i have a blank mc. that im loading 4 other mc's into. that works fine but they are overlapping. i need some how to check if a mov. has been loaded into the blank mc and if so unload it then load the new mov.

Loading Swf Into Blank MC
I've never attempted this before, so i'm a little confused, I have swf that loads 3 other swf into level 0,1,2. I'm working in the swf that loads into level2. I have a button on the main stage and an empty MC called tips, I have actions for the button like so:

I'm trying to load the pt_cham.swf into the blank MC 'tips' on press of the button? I've tried playing with the script using variations like:

But nothing seems to work? What am I doing wrong?

Also I have many buttons on the main stage (17 to be exact) an I wanted to loadMovie a different swf for each button. The user may press more that one button to see what is produced. Now is it better to load each into the 'tips' MC OR to load them into each their own fram in the 'tips' MC or does it not matter, each swf to be laoded into the 'tips' MC is about 4-5K in size.

on my main stage i have 4 buttons and a blank mc. each time i press a button i want the empty mc to unload whatever it has and load in a mc from the library. i already have this working except it can load external swfs, but i want these to load movie clips from the library. thanks

Loading A Blank Mc From An External Swf
I was wondering if this was possible:
I have swf1 that has a button to getUrl as _self for swf2, in swf2 i have 3 buttons, each calls swf3,4,5 (respectivly) into the same blank movie clip called "clipper" and they are called all on the same level. So...i press a button in swf1 to goto swf2 and press one of the 3 buttons in swf2 to load either swf3,4,or 5 into level 2.

MY question:
I am creating a tree menu of the site/ pages....How would it be possible to access from a button on the main stage in menu_swf, swf2 with either swf3,4, or 5 called into "clipper" ? Therefore in menu_swf i can press a button and it would lead me to swf2 (via get url and loaded as _self) with swf3 displaying, or swf4 or swf5.

I guess I would like to: from swf1, getUrl as _self, to swf2, and instigate one of the buttons in swf 2 to load one of the external swfs (3,4,5), all from a button in swf1. Can that be accoplished?

I'm having such a problem cause i'm using flash 5 and can't use button names

I have a main swf file where there are menu buttons when you click it loads another swf into a blank movie. In the second swf there is a sub menu where after i click it should load something. I have tried but when it loads, it clears everything in the second swf. (no more sub menu). I have included my .FLA files. Please help me someone.

Loading SWF Into Blank MC Problem
The site im building has one blank MC container that I call the other swf's according to the appropriate link selected. If I click one link:

on(release){
this.Container.loadMovie("Mov1.swf");
}

Then Mov1.swf is now playing in the main site. However, when I click a different link with this:

on(release){
this.Container.loadMovie("Mov2.swf");
}

The Mov1.swf movie vanishes so that it can now play Mov2.swf

What im trying to do is make it so that I can still SEE Mov1.swf for a bit while I click the second link to load Mov2.swf so it doesn't just vanish suddenly.

If that doesn't make any sence let me know so i can toss an example up for everyone to look at.

If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

Screen Preloading
Hey everyone, thanks in advance for any help.

I am wondering if it is possible to preload a screen. Basically I have a login setup using screens. When the user enters a correct username and password, I would like the application to proceed to my main screen where the site exists. This works fine if I simply change the visibility of screens. However, I would like to create a way where the main screen is not loaded initially. After the login, the main site is preloaded and then becomes visible. Is there a way to do this using screens. Loading Movies Into Blank Movieclips?
I've read too much I think. Movieclips appear to be very powerful with many options but I am unable to 'get out of the starting box'.

Would someone code me the simplist way- to call an external movie into a blank movieclip on my main timeline. No buttons, just a timeline frame action.

I hate to beg, but I've tried until I am blue in the face.

Maybe we can name- the blank root timeline mc instance HOLDER
Maybe we can name- the external movie EXTERNAL.SWF

Loading SWFs Into Blank MCs What's The Path?
Okay, I get a lot of how to make this work but this last part has me stumped.

I've got a main SWF that loads and unloads other SWFs into various levels and blank MCs. Let me put it another way.

Let's say the site loads up "main.swf" as the first file. I select a button that loads "backlot.swf" into level 1. At this point I click on a guestbook button that loads "guestbook.swf" into a blank MC.

If I want to send a variable to "guestbook.swf" inside "backlot.swf", which is on level 1, what is the path?

I'm stumped

Loading An Swf Into A Blank Movie Clip...
Hi, I'm just integrating the ImageVue EX gallery into my flash file, i have a blank movie clip with the following code added - i've double and triple checked the path too... it just doesnt seem to want to load.

The following code is placed on my MC (called imageVue) within a few other movie clips, at the point in which i want the clip loaded, not sure if i need to declare this in my movies initialisation script or whether its ok where it is.

Any advice much appreciated, thanks.

Preloading A Screen Document .swf
I am using Flash 8 Pro.

I am building my entire website in a screen-based document.swf with slides, called byq.swf

First off, is that a mistake? Should I not use those for building a simple 5 page site?

Now,
I have a regular .swf called loader.swf that has a snazzy loading animation on it, that I would like to use as a preloader, to get all the bytes and whatnot of the byq.swf file that I want to preload into it.

I need a preloader script that I can put on frame 1 of the loader.swf file that will:

a) display an accurate loading bar along with my loading animation, while it loads byq.swf

b) hide or somehow get rid of the preloading animation and progress bar once the external byq.swf file is fully loaded, then play the byq.swf file.

I have read for two days solid, and looked all through this site, and I can't seem to piece anything together to work.

I would very much appreciate any help.

Loading 2 Seperate Movies Into A Blank Movie
can some flash master figure this one out?

I have a main movie with a blank movie called "blankclip" to load movies into. I have a frame where the movie stops which has a layer which loads the "menustrips.swf" animation in the main movie:

_root.blankclip.loadMovie("menustrips.swf");

and also another layer/frame which loads "kanim.swf" which is also an animation

_root.blankclip.loadMovie("kanim.swf");

My problem is that only one of the movies load?

How can I load both these movies in my movie?

Dynamic Loading A Video Clip In A Blank MC
Hello everyone,

For the last 2 weeks I been trying to dynamic load a video clip into a blank movieclip.

My movies is setup up like this:

I have 3 videos with three button and one blank movieclip call myVideo. If I click on anyone of the button I want the video for the button to run in the MC. I don't want to load it as a SWF because I want to control the video ActionScript.

Any ideals on how I should start it, any tutorial or codes?

Does anyone know why instead of showing my preloader scene while it load the rest of the flash, it shows a blank white page. Its like its trying to load the entire thing before showing my preloader. Im confused and I cant figure this out. Someone please help Thanks much.
