Projector To Fit Monitors?

Hello everyone,

I'm sure this question has been asked before.

I'm creating a big flash project that is going to be published in Flash's Projector for PCs. I'm creating it on a Mac G5 with dual monitors. One monitor is 20 inches, and the other is 17 inches.

How can I make sure my Flash Projector will correctly fit into the Pcs monitors that I am creating it for? I am using the fscommand("fullscreen", "true"); action script. When I adjust the 17 inch monitors resolution sometimes it fits sometimes it doesn't.

I want to make sure the entire interface will correctly fit on the monitor. I have a whitebackground that should show in back of the interface. If the interface does not stay correctly centered on the white background, the design will be messed up.

Should I just tell the viewer to make sure their monitor's resolution is set to the correct amount, or is there something else I can do?

Thanks

Projector Resetting Monitors Resolution
Does anyone know if this is possible? I would like my projector to reset the playback monitors screen resolution. I've seen it done with video games. I tried using the fs command fullscreen/ scale script but I would like the file to remain at a fixed size. The projector displays my clients software screens and then when resized in a projector the text begins to break apart. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Two Monitors
I am making a trade show kiosk. At a certain point in the application, the client wants a video to play on a second large flat panel monitor which is driven by the same machine (one large desktop)

Is there some way to tell flash to open an additional executable at a certain coordinate on the desktop???

Mc's To Monitors
HI
This is a strange one. It probably cannot be achieved but I would love to know if anyone has any ideas.
I am constructing a multi media type presentation. It is actually for an art exhibition. Basically I am using flash to deliver over multiple monitors. Most the work is done in After Effects; Synching video to sound etc. It is mostly 'load mc' and 'get property' type coding to swap clips on keyboard events and retain synch with the techno music. However we are adapting input devices to mimick the look of old fifties sci fi type equipment. Everything is housed in a booth type construction with viewing ports and earpieces. There are about ten monitors and three/four computers running these. The monitors are of varying sizes and placed inside the booth to make use of depth and depending which viewport the user looks through some conceal others. Each with its own flash prog delivering the visuals and sound. User input will affect the sound by swapping tracks; Instruments change and also visuals.
I explain this in part to give an overview of the project . It is very exciting and quite unique. Hopefully someone will be inspired enough to offer know how or assistance
My question is this. Is it somehow possible to send the mc's to monitor 1 or monitor 2 or monitor 3 rather than to co ordinates? It would be nice to be able to do it this way and have the mc resize depending on the resolution of the monitor.
I guess using the stage and loading mc's to regions that represent the 3 monitors is the way to go. It just interests me at the moment if there are 'other methods' It is nice to stretch things sometimes. For instance we really would like flash to influence the interior enviroment of the booth; Strategic lighting. If certain events are present then all of the monitors play a black mc and the interior is dark. Other events would bring up high level lighting inside the boooth and bright mc's on all of the monitors. That is 3 pc's.
We are using 3/4 delivery systems due to costs. Most the equipment is being donated. And there is a deadline
Scuse for a long post but if anyone has experience of anything similar we would love to hear from them.
Yuo are now free to rest your tired eyes from this small novel and move on too shorter less vague posts
Good day to all and thanks in advance

Two Monitors For Flash
I'm considering to build a system with two monitors for working with Flash. One of the monitors would be for graphics, and the other for ActionScripting, panels and Tools.

Do you people have any experiences with such configurations? How is it with splitting Flash screen to two parts? How to do it?

Now I have one CRT monitor and a simple graphic card (Nvidia TNT2 with one analog output). Which card do you reccomend for such application?

Is it better to have two CRTs or one CRT and one LCD monitor? I want one of the monitors (the one for graphics) to have reliable colors.

Which monitors — LCDs or CRTs — are more reliable regarding colors?

Colors And Monitors
Hi, I have a small problem. At home, i use a laptop to make my flash-movies. When i look at the colors they are so bright ( tft screen ).
Now, when i look at a monitor at work the colors are not that bright, they are a bit different. i like the colors on my laptop much more.

BUT now ... do i have to change all the colors so they look bright on normal monitors ! or is this just normal ?

and will we all have tft-monitors in the near future so i leave it as it is ?

what do you think ?

Can You See Through Masks On LCD Monitors?
I recently made a flash animation which featured a splitscreen using a mask.. On 3 of my computers it works fine (big family), but 2 of the ones with LCD monitors you can see a faint outline of the symbols even though theyre supposed to be hidden. Is it something to do with LCD monitors or is that just a coincidence?

For reference: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/179556

On the diagonal split screen (with grey on top, blue on bottom) you can see the guy in the grey trenchcoat's outline (on LCD monitors at least). If you have an LCD monitor or have had this about any of your flash movies, could you let me know? Thanks.

Any ideas what I can do.. I am sure I am doing something wrong with the publishing but not sure.

Layout On Duel Monitors
I finally bought Flash 8 today and installed it. The first thing I did was set up my panel layout for my machine with two monitors. I placed my timeline, script, info, alighn, etc. on the right monitor and saved the layout, gave it a name ("Michael") etc.

When I relaunched Flash 8 only the timeline was on the right monitor, everything else was on the left monitor.

When I select WINDOWS > WORKSPACE LAYOUT > MICHAEL nothing changes, I have to drag my panels over to the right monitor just as if I had done nothing.

has anyone else had this happen?

Flash And Dual Monitors
I'm about to buy either a 20" or 24" iMac and am wondering how well Flash works with multiple monitors under OS X. I'm coming from Windows so I really don't know what I'm getting into. My 2nd monitor is a 17" so I'll obviously be running different resolutions on the monitors. Any issues with that? If there are problems with 20" + 17" monitors, I might just got with a 24" iMac and ditch the second display.

Thanks a lot!

Screen Resolution For ALL Monitors

So I am wondering what is the best screen resolution to set when in Flash? that will look good on all monitor screen resolutions?

LCD Monitors Analog Vs Digital Question (s)
In a nutshell, I have a analog LCD that I purchased a few weeks ago.

My GPU (graphics card) has a DVI output.

My question is whether or not I'm missing "out", anything by using a analog LCD vs using a digital LCD.

I have the Samsung profile set up rather well. My Photoshop 7 preferences (using Samsung profile) matches that of my Fireworks MX program.

As well, I viewed test files (uploaded to the web) using a standard (friends) generic CRT monitor. The colors match almost 95% +.

So, what is the benifit, if any, besides shelling out a few hundered dollars more? It's a serious question, and I just want to make sure I have the right viewing equipment before my time to return/exchange this monitor passes.

I paid $499.00 and there is a $100 rebate should I decide to keep this and send it in. Samsung171v 17"

Thanks

WS LCD Monitors? Good For Flash Design?
I am very unclear about the effect of newer widescreen monitors in flash design. Is it a plus or a minus. I tend to steer clear from them as my current opinion is that WS LCD monitors have an irregular resolution, that would change the way I view a web page, and hence change the way I design websites. I feel like if I design using a WS monitor, I would be creating websites optimized for better viewing on the same resolution, thus putting the majority of viewers at a disadvantage. Are my premonitions of Widescreen monitors correct. I am getting ready to purchase two new LCD monitors soon so its an issue I really need to figure out. Thanks in advance.

Output 3 Separate Videos To 3 Monitors
I am putting together a system that will output three videos (DVD, MPG or FLV) to display on 3 separate monitors. I talked with ATI and did some test on my systems and it works. My problem is starting all videos at the same time. I tried using VideoLan with command line to do this but in the batch file for the command line each command to start the different videos are on a separate line and the movies are off by 1 second.

My question; can I do this with Flash either using the FLV and running three different players or using a program like Zinc to start the different videos at the same time? Does anyone know of a video player that will allow me to do this?

Any thoughts on how this can be done.

Thank you;

Same Size Monitors Display Content Differently?
Hi,

I hope you could make me understand the following:
I have two PC's that display my 100% Flash websites slightly different. Most stunning is that on my new PC, dynamic textfields with a Verdana-font of 12 pix high are displayed as if they were 11px high. Also, I see left and right margins next to the stage on my new PC, but I programmed no margins in the html (and 100%). Check my source code at www.schenkius.nl.

Both my monitors are 17", 32 bit and 1024x768 res. My old PC has Win ME and my new PC has Win XP running. Could the difference in Windows version be responsible for the difference in display? Does IE handle pages diffently in XP than in ME?

Thanx!

Flash Player Spanning Multiple Monitors
I’m trying to produce a presentation for my company's reception area and what to run an swf full screen over three large LCD screens (extended desktop). I’m aware of the pixel limitations of the flash file and can live with 2880 wide. But when you select full screen mode on the flash stand alone player it will only work on one of the screens.

I don't what to just drag and stretch them to span the screens as it will not look very slick.

I’ve thought of running three separate swf files but not sure how much of a headache syncing them would be.

Has anyone got any suggestions which might help me.

Full Screen Broken With Dual Monitors
We currently use Full Screen for the expanded viewing of FLVs. When doing so we have the following problems:

1) Video often goes "full screen" in second monitor, leaving the web-browser still open in the primary monitor.
2) When user ends full screen mode, it does not cleanly transition back to the primary monitor - the flash player re-emerges in the proper area, but the webpage itself does not reload properly.

I know other people have solved this (you tube, etc) - any suggestions on how to handle this?

Thanks,

Flash Movie Full Screen On Dual Monitors?
Hi potential helpfuls,
I would like to play a flash projector full screen across both my monitors for a project (I'm running an ATI radeon card that's powering one crt and one lcd monitor). the flash movie is set for the width of the whole desktop (1600 pixels, since my screen resolution for both monitors I'm setting at 800 X 600 pixels). But every time I launch the movie and kick it to full screen, the flash movie only plays on the primary monitor, essentially squeezing the whole thing on 1 monitor. Is there a way to solve this problem so the movie can launch full screen across both monitors?

[MX]Stage Settings For Smaller Monitors-Pixel Wierdness

I thought the whole idea of pixels is that they size up or down to fit the screen size of the monitor – how come they end up scaling up so large on my 14” that they need scroll bars?

Projector Launching Projector & Email Links On A Mac

Also I have an email link setup which launches my browswer (explorer/safari) before launching my email program (entourage). Is there a way around this, I'm using a Mac but the presentation will be mainly view on a PC, but would like to know how to sort this for both. I'm sure the last time I used flash a couple of years ago it launched the email program without the browser, so it may be me doing it wrong. I'm using the "getURL("mailto:" command.

"Stretching" Flash Movies To Fit Monitors
Hi all,

Here is my question. When I view my Flash movies on my own monitor or similar size monitors, my movies are sized the way I like them, and fill up the screen the way I want them too.

However, the other day I was in my boss's office, talking to him. He viewed some of my Flash work on his super-fancy big-screen monitor, and my movies were tiny! They barely took up any of his monitor screen at all. However, another professional Flash site we viewed on his monitor filled his screen up correctly, the way I want my movies to display.

So what I'm asking is- Is there some setting in a Flash movie that makes it scalable according to the monitor size of the viewer?

Thanks!
