Hi,
I have a little jukebox movie in Flash that simply plays up to five tracks on my site. I do not want the files to be easily downloadable by anyone who figures out my file structure, but I don't know how to make the files accessible to Flash but inaccessible to a browser.

Is there a way to limit access to certain files on a webserver so that only Flash can use them?

A Flash Jukebox For On Website To Have Music
Hello Flash Pro's and Nøøbies (as I am:þ).
I have been searching the "entire" web for a Flash Jukebox. I want to download a Flash Jukebox or some kinda link which I can use to have my own music loops on my website and people can use a Windows Music Player or Winamp effect interface. It should (of course) have a Play and Stop button but also a next and previous button in it. I tried creating one myself but I cannot even (yet) create a decent Splash screen, let alone such an interface in Flash. I'd appreciate it if I received perhaps an Email about this or perhaps a post with Link to such a Flash Jukebox or a VERY detailed tutorial to make such a thing on my own . Getting Prog Bar Of Music Player Animated?
hi folks,
i setup a mp3 player for my project and all workd fine, especially when viewed by itself. However, as I'm thinking this may be a pathing problem, I am unable to get the track progress bar animating once this swf is loaded into a target movie of master.swf

the progress bar is to represent the current audio or mp3 song playing representative of the amount of audio thus played and how much is left.

everything is on the master timeline of this movie (music.swf) and inside of my function I have the following code that i believe is the issue:

I am using flash 5 and I am making a flash program for a cd so I am creating an .exe of the flash prog. I would like to know how do I execute another prog from my flash prog. For example, if you press a button, a prog, like an installation prog, in another folder gets executed. Please help!

Is It Possible To Protect Flash Files, Yet Allow Copy Changes?
We are an interactive shop who are producing banner ads for a client. The idea is to send a "toolkit" of several flash banners to many markets, where copy may be changed to customize them, reflecting local, more target-specific relationships with the client.

Unfortunately, there are issues. To wit:

1) We do not feel comfortable simply jettisoning our source files into the void, where unauthorized persons may violate the client style manual in any manner of ways (shiver . . .). In other words, we would like them to be able to change text without being able to move/remove/etc branding elements, including colors, logo etc.

2) We have no guarantee the modified banners will be properly Q/A'd

Evidently, one solution could be Macromedia's Generator, but I contacted MM and they say it is no longer being developed/supported. The most pressing concern is the protection of our source files.
Any ideas? We thought about separate text and flash files, but there is likely to be a problem with serving banners made of more than one type of file.

Wussup, I"m tryin to make a music jukebox in flash movie...
I can get the animations and stuff down... but I dun know where to begin to code it.... I want the viewer to be able to select tracks frum it and load and play on instance.... any help or even better CODES... thanks alot..

I am working on my site and it has a jukebox that will be able to select from 6 diff songs/music. What I want to know is where/what do others who have a jukebox use? Do you all just use the loops from this site or what? I am not a musican and don't have the know to create music for it.

A Music Jukebox Question
Okay , this is going to be a toughy (i guess)

At this moment i have 12 mp3 files and each of 'em is about 1 mb in filesize.

I have previously experimented with streaming sound and it is something that i want to do this time also.

Problem is that those 12 mp3 files are a "mix".. so actually it's just 1 long musicscore that is devided into 12 files.

What i want to do with a seperate mp3 player, is to give it actions.
Like when mp3 file 1 is at frame number 1200, load mp3 file 2.
(streaming music ofcourse, so no preloader)

and to top it off, i want to have a volume slider.

how can i set this up as easily as possible ?

I have a simple jukebox. I am streaming MP3 files. Right now, when the song is over, it just stops. How can I tell when a song is done and make it automatically go to the next song?

ok, it is impossible to protect your swf files if you publish in online. Anyone can open it using software like ASV, SoThink decompiler etc. Everything in your swf movie can be seen or can be stolen. Flash's protect option is nothing but a joke.

So i was thinking, if i can find a way to put my actionscript on the server inside a coldfusion or php file and load it from there to my flash movie, then they can't steal my code.

Is this possible. I want to put my AS code inside coldfusion(.cfm, .cfc) or php(.php) files and let them send that AS code to my movie. because they cannot steal the server side codes (cfm, php) my actionscript file will be protected.

What do you guys think? How can i make this work? Lets collaborate on this important issue

Password Protect Your .swf Files?
I have made 3 flash movies. Each movie exports an swf file. Correct? Ok! Let's say I have now 1.swf 2.swf 3.swf files.

I want to place a login screen in (1.swf) where the user must input a username and password to access ( 2.swf and 3.swf).

If the user tries to access ( 2.swf or 3.swf) without going through 1.swf file , then he will be directed to an html page or whatever saying "ERROR , Please Login First".

Can someone help me achive this?

Music With Flash Files
I need some tips on decreasing the size of sound files I attach to my Flash movies.

I have a small snipit beat of a song that is 3MB..

The snipit of the song is 10 seconds but for some reason when I save it it saves as a 4MB wav file...

ANy way to make it a reasonable size to attach to the flash file?

WHat programs would you recommend for this and if possible some URLs where I can download samples.

Flash Closing Prog Freeze
After I've saved all my files, done working on anything in Flash. I goto close Flash itself - and it starts the process but then freezes. I have to close it thru the windows processes window. Even then sometimes it sits and needs an extra "kick" to close from the status bar, right click close program. It generates an error file and I report it each time.

Anyone have any issues like this.

Flash Or Alternitive Prog For Game?
I soon plan to be launching the creation of an absolutly incredible game. Everything is planned out, mapped, diagrammed, correctly labeled, and in order, But I don't know if Flash is going to meet my demmands. I've seen Flash get skippy on some mild games (on low res.)

The future game HAS GOT to be in birds-eye view (slightly diagonal downward.) this means that for every action for every charecter and enemy has to have at least 4 angles. It wont be too hard to animate since I'll be using Maya and export it into Flash from multiple sides, but that's a hell of alot of loading for Flash. Should I look into a different program, or am I just gonna have to make flash work with me on this one.

I have a problem.. I want to make a kind of a messagebord on my website. It has got to be a smooth messagebord, so i really need the animation of flash. But there is a problem.. The people that send me information thru a form that i made, passes my cgi perl-prog first, then my perl-prog sends it to my html-page right into a parameter. Now i need to know how i could get the parameter (the string with the message)into a flash movie... I tried to look it up, but there are no answers, it's probably impossible..

How To Protect Against SWF Decompilation? (Flash MX)

I have a SWF file that I'm trying to protect against decompilation (e.g. using the decompilers listed here: http://www.bestflashanimationsite.co...s/decompilers/)

I have tried using the SWF Obfuscation program by Genable (http://www.genable.com/aso/), but it does not produce a valid SWF file.

Is there some other way (e.g. a programming or Flash 'trick') that can be used to confuse the decompilers so that my SWF cannot be cracked (or at least, not easily cracked?).

Essentially, I have a (c) *****.com notice in my SWF, and I want to ensure that someone will not be able to decompile the SWF to remove this copyright notice.

How To Protect Your Flash From Piracy ?
Can somebody tell me how to protect my swf ?? I just find out that ******* SWF decompiler can easily decompile your swf into bit by bit even when you've allready put password when publishing..
The easiest way is probably not allowing user to download your swf, but apparently no matter how hard I tried, my swf will always stayed on the Temporary Internet files directory..

can somebody tell me the best way to avoid this ??

HI everyone,

I've very new to Flash, i'm using MX so its driving me nuts. I'm trying to creat a jukebox ... a basic one. I've managed to creat the basic play and stop for three tracks ... and it works great .. now ownever i'm trying to create a linked area that when the song/track is chosen it the view window the chosen song/track would appear.

You know kind of like when you choose a song in iTunes you see the song you chose at the top of the player, and it changes dependingon what track is being played.

I've been looking for tutorals on this but most are for 4 or 5 and translating them into MX is not working for me :-( ... I know nothing about the coding what so ever what I've gotten thus far is by sear playing around and trying things that various tutorals have said to do for older versions on Flash, so any tutorials that are aimed at MX would be apprechated, as well as help in learning what codes i would need to make happen happen.

i am working on a site that has 12 sound samples that are all atleast 1 meg MP3 files. i don't want to slow the site down, so how can I hide them or atleast not worry about the download time for the user/visitor to hear the music that he/she clicks on to hear.

would it be a good idea to create a jukebox just for that or would it take more time to download for the visitor.

my main concern is keeping the site fast and quick. the music samples are not downloadable to the user. just so they can hear the music.

And i need to know how to load in external mp3's from the server its stored on. I dont want to embed the mp3s in the swf as it will make a large file size! Any suggestions on the best way to create this jukebox will be much appreciated. Cheers

i am trying to create a jukebox kinda thing for my website,

it will play a random track when enter website, and the player consist of buttons like stop play next track and previous track.
