Can I Loop A Specific Section Of Music In Flash After The Music Intro Plays?
Hi! My question involves looping audio in flash. I already know how to make a section of audio in an audio-editing program that loops and make it loop continuosly in Flash. What I would like to do now is take an audio clip that has an intro section and a "body" section and after the intro has played, loop back to the beginning of the "body" section continously. I assume it would involve sending it back to a specific millisecond?

Anyway, can anyone help me out with this one? Or is it even possible?

How To Change Buttons On Music Player Depending On Whether Music Is Playing Or Stoppe
When my music is playing, I want my play button to be blackened in. When the music is stopped, I want my stop button to be blackened but my play button to go back to it's original state.

Right now, when my cursor is over the button, it will change the rollover state. That's easy to do.

How can this be accomplished...do i need multiple layers?

Hi, i'm looking for a script that preloads my music. once it's loaded it should start playing the music with a fade in.

Anybody can help me with this. My actionscript-skills are very poor.

This is the code that i'm using for the moment, without preload and fadein. It uses a random of 3 tracks.

So, In the old days, we had to import .wav and now we can use mp3. Good news... My question is this. What is the best way to use a decent sized file as a soundtrack? My movie is acceptable on the download time as is, but the element of music is too tempting. I'm about to do experiments with making a separate swf and then giving the user the choice do "import" it with the click of a button. In the corner there will be the standard loading thing going on, as it's loading in on say a higher level...will I encounter probs on the visual side? Will it deter the performance of the presentation as it loads?

Music Keeps Going In Flash 5
Hi, I'm a n00b to flash and I have a problem with a movie I am making. I have a 4-minute song that is compressed into an 8-bit 22khz file, and when I am just playing the movie normally (enter to pause/play) and pause, the song keeps going. To stop the music, I then have to go to Contol > Mute All Sounds and then Contol > Mute All Sounds again. Is there any way I can just tell Flash to stop the song when I pause or stop the movie?

I want that the song entire plays and when it ends, it restart ... but not to cut it when a make click in one link and without finishing it started again....

my music works fine in the .fla file, but when i embed the .swf on the internet the music doesn't work (and yes my speakers are on...lol)

O.K., heres the problem. I have a long sound loop in my movie which I put into a movie clip. I then put the movie clip on the first frame of the movie. I have buttons going to different sections (frames) and the music plays nicely, until I click on a button that goes back to the first frame, and then the music starts looping over itself. How do I stop this from happening!? Thanks

Hey everyone!

I'm doing a website all in flash and thus have timeline jumps, when buttons are clicked. The problem is that I also have background music running from a button that I made (so that u can turn music off) and so, whenever u make a timeline jump, the music restarts and layers on top of the current music!

How do I make it so that I can have the background music independant, so that it is uneffected by any timeline jumps??

hi, i'm new here, but not exactly new to Flash. Hope that this is still considered Newbie question.
I want to put music samples online of each about 400 Kb. I did it using buttons, but my file ended up so big that it opened too slow. I saw a solution on another site where it looks like a small button is calling another file to stream music. I have no idea how this is done?

Getting Music Into Flash
Hi everyone,

I am trying to get some music into my flash file. I thought I could just put a CD in the CD drive, then go file --> import, and choose a song, but when I try to do that, the songs aren't highlighted (I can't click them). They are .aiffs ... I am a mac user, and I use mx 2004.

i have tried to look for the problem in the action script but there seems to be no syntax errors.

most likely, there is something wrong with the .swf file. presumably something i missed in the action script. this flash player is something i got from a different site but i wanted to put my own playlist on it. but it says "undefined. i still have the .fla file if anyone wants to check/edit it to make it work... if that is the problem.

First off, I'm not very good with Flash. I'm not afraid to admit it, heh. I know enough about it to create a simple site or a simple animation, but that's about it.

Anyhow, for a college class project I'm building a small website in Flash. I want to have an MP3 track playing continuously throughout the project; but the problem is, I can't just drop the MP3 into the timeline because it will only play the music from where ever the user currently is in the timeline. For example, if the user clicks a link to bring them to frame 20, it will only play the music clip from where it is on frame 20 and on.

I'd like to set it so the music track will just continue to play uninterupted no matter what frame the user is on, so jumping around on the timeline wont affect the music at all.
I know there's a way to do this (I believe with ActionScript), I used to know how it was done, but by not using Flash for a few months I seem to have forgotten it.
How do you do this?

And if it matters, I'm using Flash CS3.

Hi guys, Hopefully you can answer this alot quicker then i can sort it out as i am new to flash..

I am using flash 8 and have been asked by my company to produce a flash slideshow (pictures fading in and out) which I have working, however i have to insert music which i have done using tutorials but when it plays and the slideshow finishes and starts to loop again the music starts from the beginning but the original carrys on playing sort of like a cannon affect...

I'm making a FMX movie with music in scene 3. I already have start and stop buttons which work ok.

What I need is for the music to start automatically as soon as the framehead hits frame 1 / scene 3 without having to press the Start Button.

we have a domain of 15mb and my index page is having a mp3 play back for 40sec and increasing the wt from 33kb with out music to 263kb with music and thus delaying the the booting time.
can u tell me is there any other musc format compatable with flash so that my problem will be solved.

As stated in my previous post, I am creating a presentation with many pictures and music, and this is all pretty much new to me.

After loading some music in a dummy file and figuring out how it works, I came to the realization that while in edit mode Flash cannot start playing a song anywhere other than the beginning of the mp3. That, and once it starts playing, the only way to stop it is to close the file altogether. Is this serious, or is there something else I can do to make it work better while in edit mode?

[rant]I swear, some of the things the Macromedia team did were just dumb. I hope Macrodobe fixed this stuff.[/rant]

I'd like to know everything there is to know about sound. I'm working on this site that contains a lot of music files...including a preloader. I'd like to have the preloader play a certain music file, then when the preloader has loaded, the other music buttons pop up and you can play the songs individually. I made it so that each button plays an independent music file, but if I click one button and then another one directly after, they overlap. I think that to solve this problem involves ActionScripting, but I think I did that wrong, hence my post here. I'd like some help! thanks!

A couple of questions which are probably pretty lame but are driving me mad.

First, I have a movie with a music sound track. The sound track loads in workspace 0 and this loads subsequent movies in workspace 1. The movie loops but the sound doesn't. I've tried everything including actionscript to no avail.

Second, is there a known limit on the size of an MP3 file whic may be loaded into the library?

Flash Music Sequencer...is It Possible?
hello

im trying to make a flash music sequencer where there are a number of sound loops available to the user, they can drop the loops onto a timeline, click play, and the loops will play in that order (similar to fruity loops or cubase).

i would like it to function in a similar way to Brendon Dawes's psycho Studio http://www.flashkit.com/movies/Game..._-614/index.php but with sound instead of images. ive tried placing the sound on the timeline of external movies but each of my loops is 5.853 seconds and flash framing isnt that accurate (theres big jumps and cuts between loops when the next one is loaded).

ive just started reading about soundobjects which seems a much better approach as it seems to reference the sounds directly from the library instead of the timeline, this seems to be a better way of doin it ...am i right? will the loops flow naturally into eachother or will there be a delay?

im new to sound in flash so any help would be great
