Save Pictures As .jpg, Png Or Gif
Hi i will make a face genarator program that can generate faces from alot of face parts. I know how to make this small program but i have a small problem. How can i save the faces from my flash program to a .jpg,png or gif picture?

Hey everyone. Sorry to seem like a leech, but I could really use the guidance. Usually I'm pretty good for finding the solution on my own without having to trouble people, but this time I seem to be coming up short. So thanks in advance for taking the time to read this.
I'm developing an auto-cad esque flash application (going good so far too). I have no problem storing object information in a database (xy coordinates, rotation, scale etc), but now my problem is converting that data to another format; specifically DXF or DWG. Now I know the flash environment itself can import/export DXF's, but I don't know how to load the user-made data into the environment. Is it possible to have the environment run actionscripts to build these user-made objects and then manually save that to a DXF? (or even better would be a save/load DXF from the flash player)
Essentially I'd need to know if it's possible for the flash environment to read from my database (probably from reading a PHP built XML file), execute actionscript to reconstruct any objects created, and then let me go and manually (or automatically!) export a DXF of that.
Any comments or help would be greatly appreciated =]

The other very viable alternative is if you guys know of an XML to/from DXF/DWG converter.

i'm trying to load a external swf in a main motive use a movie clip holder, useing
loadMovie("name.swf", "_root.Mc_holder"); the move loads but the coding don't work( i.e. animation) the effect within the swf was made in action script 1 using Absolute and the motive is 2 using relative also the player setting on the swf are for player 6 unlike the movie which is 8
it does work if i use levels but overlaps on to the main movie which does'nt look great
and not what i need.
this is very hard to ex plane so any help would be great.

AS 2 Save Image With Open / Save Dialogue
I am wanting to use fileReference to open an OS save dialogue so my users can save jpgs to their hard disks.
I been trying to get this working but I can't can any one please give me some code or some idea how to get this working.
I just want to be able to click a button and the save dialogue appear asking where to save the file.

I currently have a button that when click opens a new browser window so a user can right click on an image and save it to their PC using getURL.
Is it possible to have a button open the save dialogue box of the users operating system?
So as soon as the button is click the OS save dialogue box appears.
I'm using Flash CS3 but with AS2.

How To Save X-y Coords In One Array And Save'n'such
Hello evryone.
just fighting with those array functions in flash.
well, i have a mouserecorder "Paintthingy" which records the mouse coordinates into 2 array's, after that the arraydata will be saved over a php script into 2 textfiles.
works fine, but i have to open 2 url's for that and 2 seperate phpscripts to write x and y seperated in 2 files.
is there a way to save both x and y over 2 own identifiers in an array ? that would help alot, because i have to load that textfile after that, to put the textfiledata in the array again.
easily said it's a very simple paintprogram with save function so that after a refresh the last painting won't get lost.

Save Button To Save Dynamic Mc's?
If anyone could help, I would really appreciate it.
Problem in short :
Working on interactive kiosk - have button that creates dynamic copies of my parent movieclip (picture of lion) The user would click on button to create copies and using "drag" move the lion to where she saw it on the map.
Once the lion "sightings" have been visally logged on the map, and need to be able to give them a "save" button to save what you see on screen.
Because this is created dynamically by the user, I need a way for the user to save it at runtime.
How would one go about this?
p.s I need to be able to show the new saved file from a remote pc.

Links To Pictures In Pictures?
hey
im new to flash, but a quick learner.
i came up with an idea for my homepage, but it seems rather hard to make for a beginner, so im asking for some help.
One of the homepage i manage, is a company where you can get riding tours. we have a route we use for each tour.
i figured out that showing the route on the homepage would be nice so people could have a look at where they are going.
now. the flash i need to make is... i have a picture of the route in jpg. in that picture i want to make small circles on the route so that when you move the mouse over the circle, a picture is shown another place on the screen, of the exact location on the route. so said very short. i need pictures to be displayed when the mouse is over a circle in a jpg file.
I hope you can help me.

Can't Save File And Can't Save As Either
Sometimes, usually after I've been working with Flash for a while, it won't let me save my work. I get an error dialog saying the file is opened read-only, or another user has the file open. What is most disturbing is that I can't even do a "Save As"--I get the same message. What's even worse, if I quit without saving, it deletes the file on disk! This happens with XP x64 as well as XP Pro.
Any suggestions?

I am going to do an intro and I wish to include some pictures and photos in it. The last intro I have done included about 10 jpg's and their size was relatively small, but still the intro took a long time to load. Is there another format I can use to make the picture filesize smaller and maybe the intro will load faster?

Pictures Gone Bad
i have these pictures for my movie, when i play them in their own movie the look perfect. but the minute i put them with any thing else on the stage they turn to crap. what can i do to make the pictures look better when they are played with any thing else. ive also been messing around with loading the pictures externally to keep the file size down. to affect the photos i use fireworks. if that helps i would really appreciate any help thanks.

On a web site I am designing in a class our group was assigned to create a site that sells beads. The teacher gave us the product on zip disc, and the images consist of 2 by 2 inch, low quality JPEG pictures of the different color beads. Is there any way to make 20 pictures to load faster on a CD presentation made in Flash 5?
I have 3 buttons that load pictures when clicked but the pictures load in 2-3 seconds or more.
I can use the loadmovie script in a prez. cd???...it's exe so i think the LoadMovie doesn't work?!!!

Re-using Pictures?
Ok, heres one that I've done before but I never pay attention on how to systematically do!!
I have a few pictures Ive drawn in flash for a movie, but now I want to just want reuse the pictures BUT edit them and recolor etc... it seems that if I copy/duplicate the picture and make changes, it changes the original picture also!
How do I replicate movies/pictures/symbols so that I can recolor them or reanimate them, without changing the original source??

Okay, I have 3 different sets of pictures, each with about 20 pictures in them. Now, on my stage, I have 3 container MC's. I want each set of pictures to be loaded into a seperate MC. Now, the problem is taht I only want 1 picture from each set to be shown at a time, and I want it to flash between pictures.
So like:
at 1s:
Container 1 shows : pic 16
Container 2 shows : pic 24
Container 3 shows : pic 56
at 5s
Container 1 shows : pic 2
Container 2 shows : pic 22
Container 3 shows : pic 36
So it randomly picks a picture to show in the container.

Pictures Look...odd.
Alright...this has probably been covered before, but I can't find it, apparently. Why do all my pictures in Flash look...squashed? Is there a way to fix this problem? It is especially noticeable if I import a pic with text on it. It doesn't matter what format I do it in, (BMP, PNG, JPG, GIF, etc) all of my imported pictures look shorter than they should. Any help would be appreciated, or at least an acknowledgement that it's not just my machine...

Different Pictures - Same Swf?
Can i dynamically load a picture into a swf file without having to republish the fla?
I have a navigation where I need to include a different background across multiple pages.
At the minute I'm creating about 150 swf files and I'd prefer just to do one, but just include a different picture.
Could I also do this with text to - for the titles?

I'm making a presentation within flash.. now there is a little problem i never noticed before.. all the PNG files fading in with a motion tween in 10 frames. if i play them one after another there is no problem but.. when i'm just leave the just faded picture in the movie the last couple of pictures (9 in total) just fades very slowly. I run on a new powerbook g4 with enough memory. that should not be a problem.. Someone haves an idea what it could be??

Getting Pictures From A Jpg
Hello friends
I have a funny questions. I am very new in flash . Recently one of my friends ordered me to make some animation from a jpg image wherein a ball is present inside a logo. I want to detach the ball and the logo ( one circle with diffrent orbists)seperately. How can I do this? I have some idea about photoshop. Is it the way to slice the ball in imagae ready/photoshop. okay, another stupid question from Trinity LOL
I made a graphic in PSP that I want to import into Flash as my BACKGRONd, and all I wanted to do was add fading text onto the top of it.
I got the fading text part down. I made my text on a new layer...
BUT>.. my background image is only on ONE frame, and when i play the movie, obviously the background image is only there for the first frame LOL
So, My question is , is there some way to IMPORT background pictures? Or, make it somehow so its a CONSTANT backgroudn regardless of what happens on OTHER layers??

Scrolling Pictures
Hi everybody,
my question is for a non-native speaker quite difficult to explain but I'll try :
I'd like to install six photos next to each other, all but one are suppossed to be masked. I've got 6 Buttons, pressing button 2 e.g. shall scroll my pictures leftside or rightside to picture 2, so that you just briefly see the other photos passing by till photo 2 is revealed by the mask.
Sorry for my bad english, but did you get it?
Who can help me. I think, for me as a semi-newbie it's hard, for many experts among yours it's quite easy, isn't it?

Streaching Pictures
I was wondering how to streach portion of a picture out of proportion depending on where your mouse is on the screen. At first I was thinking I could streach it with _xscale but that will streach the whole thing and I only want to blow some of it out of proportion. For example Yugo from http://www.yugop.com does it in the page with a picture of his kid. If anybody has any suggestions on how to approach this problem I would really appreciate the help. Thanks

Rippling Pictures
I have a project in mind that is a little bit complecated. I want to get a moving ripple effect over a picture in my project. Let me explane it better, if you were looking at your reflection in a pond and then dropped a pebble in, you would get a ripple in your reflection. This is what I am trying to duplicate in flash. I could do it with a lot of maskes but that would be a pain in the ass, if it were done through actionscript it would be much more efficent. The problem is I don't really now how to get started with the code. If anyone can help or has any suggestions on where I might look for answers, I would really appreciate the help. Thanks in advance.

Can someone tell me or direct me to a tutorial on how to make a different picture appear everytime a page in Flash is reloaded.
I'm trying to make an effect somewhat like the one found at http://www.fourm.com.
I want a different picture appear everytime the page loads, like at this site.
Here is some scipt I used that I thought would work:

I placed this script in the movieclip which contains my pictures, however, it's not working. Instead of a different picture each time, it just flashes all of the pictures.
