Electricurrent, a world-class leader in branding initiatives and website campaigns, is looking for another Cold Fusion / Flash developer to add to our team. Some of Electricurrent’s clients include: World Vision, Universal Studios, Dallas Theological Seminary, Youth Specialties, Muskoka Woods Sports Resort, and many churches and ministries throughout the US and Canada.

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2-3 years experience in Cold Fusion, 2 years in MS-SQL, 2 years in Flash ActionScripting, 1 year in Database Integration with Flash, 3 years in HTML and 1 year in Adobe Photoshop.

Additional experience in any of the following will be helpful (but not required): ASP/.NET, Oracle, MYSQL, PHP.

The position will involve taking Photoshop designs and coding them in HTML, Cold Fusion, JavaScript and Microsoft SQL Server. Additionally, the applicant will be responsible for working with our design team to integrate dynamic Flash applications using ActionScript, Cold Fusion and Microsoft SQL Server.

The successful candidate will be granted an initial 6-month (full-time) contract. At the end of the 6 month period, candidate will be evaluated with the hopes of bringing them on full time.

Hi everyone.

Im creating a application (flash based) that will be integrated on bank websites world wide. Since the application feature video I want to make sure there are a version that support "the most used" broedband speed for each region.

What im asking for is respons on the average users broadband speed in regions around the world. Also hope this can be usefull for others as a reference point.

Let me start by stating that here in Norway the average used broadband is 1mbit. (Test in PC world norway)

PS: Im here looking for connections at home, not work.

Any Reason A Site Would Work On A Mac In Canada But Not On A Mac In New York ?
Hi,

I'm currently updating a website for a new york artist.

I'm using xml to load the image gallery.

I updated everything under ARTWORK except prints

Clicking on Faces should load thumbnails and mouse-over on these thumbnails should make the images appear on the left side of the side.

Clicking on thumbnails should load a window with the image blown up a bit with a close button.

I have the latest 15 inch core 2 duo macbok pro model and it works fine and I live in canada.

My client has the same exact computer and it didnt work at her house so she went to the apple store in NY to try it on other machines and it doesnt work there either.

Any reason that would be happening ?

The site is published in flash 7 and I also tried flash 8 to no avail.

Hello, I go by Insignia. I'm looking for an exceptionally good actionscripter to personally tutor me. Unfortunately written tutorials never elaborate enough for me. Rather they teach you to robotically copy code...

Things I want to learn:
Attaching/manipulating MC's for map scrolling
Equations for making projectiles for shooting
Passable variables within functions
Attaching/Looping & Manipulating Sounds
Better understanding of Arrays
Some Physics for things like gravity
Creating pathways for AI
and also
Hittesting/Boundaries

If the tutoring is a success, then it's only fair that I contribute 25% of whatever I earn from my next game to my tutor. I average around $1000 on my games.

Does This TUTOR. Work In FMX?
New flash MX user I am, and I've just done this forward/reverse tutorial (when you get there, click right button twice to then the ball to enter tutorial) . Its not working. When I test movie the MC that I want to control with a button is simply looping. In the output window there are many lines of text, which I don't really understand at this point. The only thing in common with each line is that they all say:
' ; ' expected
at the end of each line. I have a sense that this tutorial is older, and maybe for a different version of flash? I don't know. Can anyone tell if this is the case, and if so where can I find a tutorial that will help me conquer this in FMX. Thanks

Making A Typing Tutor In Flash
I am very new to flash and have been set a task of producing a simple typing tutor in flash. What I am looking to do is have a menu of available lessons. For each lesson I want to display a keyboard with the letters to be typed above it. When the user hits a key(on their keyboard) if it corresponds with the letter to be typed, I would like to turn the letter green if not red.
I am using Flash MX.
I know this is probably to very tall order for a beginner like myself. I would be very gratefull for any help anyone could give me!!!

How To Make A Russian Typing Tutor
Actionscript is too vast to learn completely. Please indicate what commands to study for this:

Project :

1) Load mp3 file of russian word in OSX cyrillic font. (Each short file is the word being spoken).

2) Display word and accept input in cyrillic characters (Russian keyboard layout chosen on user's computer)

3) Same word must be typed. Respond with silence until correct letter is typed in sequence. With successfully types, it speaks the letter (from separate sound file for alphabet) and moves to next letter

4) Completed word = speak word (loaded file) and start over with new word.

There is no need for calculating statistiques on errors or speed.

My excuses if this is inappropriately complex for a novice.

P.S. If cyrillic characters can't be loaded from a server, make part of Flash file and access as variables

Flash Typing Tutor Game
Good Day,

I am trying to develop a Typing program that will allow you to type what is on screen. I would like to have the functionality of being able to do something like this:

a line appears:

ddd fff sss ggg aaa lll kkk

I want the user to have to type those letters in that order or they cannot proceed to the next letter.

I have attached a prototype I am working on that just recognizes what is on screen, but it is only 1 letter.

If someone can show me how to get more than 1 letter to show up, or even show me how to pre define multiple letters that would be great.

The letters do not have to be random.

Personal Profiles
Hi there ,

I've searched this site for a long time and can't find what i need so i figured i'd ask someone to help me out.

I run a gaming community and server and would like to create a flash page for my players. what i want to be able to do is this...

I would like players to have individual profile pages, a main page that displays thier "in-game" names for people to click on to check out thier profile. in the profiles themselves i'd like them to be able to upload a picture and post info about themselves (yet to be determined what).

how would i go about making forms to fill out that would be posted, the main thing i can't figure out is getting thier pictures uploaded. is this possible in flash? or will this require php or something? if php or something of the like, would it be able to display the info in flash in a customizable fashion?

i hope i was clear on what i'm looking for and any help is appreciated, especially links to downloadable flash movies of a similair type that i can pick apart

My Personal Hell......set Variable
Okay. here is the story. I have three buttons. When you click on the button. A picture fades in.

here is the problem.

Let's say I click on button one. The picture will fade in. Now, when I want to click on button two....I want the picture on button one to fade out. And then I want the picture two to fade in.

The buttons tell movie clips to go to and play a certain label...such as fadein, and fade out.

What I need to figure out...is how to set variables so that when I click on whatever button....it will tell the one that was last pressed to go to and play fade out.

Do you follow me?

This is most likely a basic set variable thing....but I don't know how to do it.

Personal Trainer Website
Hi, Ive been asked to colaborate on the design of a website for a personal trainer. Its not going to be flashed based but Ive been thinking about designs and one thing that ive though of is having some flash content on it, Ive thought that it might be a good idea to have a Stopwatch in the header area(like a gym or excersise stopwatch). Does anybody know where I can find this or maybe a tutorial to implement this??

Personal Project I've Been Working On

So for a while, when I can, I've been slaving away at making modules for my site. This portion is the news reader. It takes in a feed and spits out what you select. The thing I like about this most is the mouse navigation and the calendar in general. I'm already thinking about ways to tear up the calendar again, but this just has to go. Anyways, I thought you all might get a kick out of it too.

Use Personal Font In UI Component
