Site Centering Problems With A Flash Header
Hi,
I have designed a site that uses a flash header as it's main design element. It's width is set to 100% and causes issues with it centering in IE at 1024*768. I have tried everything(overflow-x:hidden etc) but I cant get it to center at 1024*768, it's always left-aligned which causes issues as content to the right is getting cut off. I'm hoping I can fix it in the css as the client has already signed off on the design and I don't want to be repositioning elements . Any help would be amazing.

I have an html site and I have a header at the top with a little flash animation of the logo. poblem is, when the user clicks on a new page, the header reloads and the flash animation starts all over again, and again and again...you get the idea..it looks silly.
How can i make the flash load only once even though the header reloads each time the user goes to a new page?

Flash Header With Database Driven Site
Hello all
I would like to use a flash header at the top of the page of a database driven website.
I am experienced with loading variables into flash from php pages by the method -
data_corporate2.load("http://192.168.1.204/forepoint2005/data_nextprev.php?level2=30");
but, as I would like to use the same flash header file on each and every page on the website this is no use.
If I am displaying the page 'content.php?pageId=33', which also displays the flash file is it possible to pass variables from the php page to the flash file?, similarly if I am displaying any other pageId is it possible to pass the variables?
What I would like to know is - Is it possible for the flash file to pull in the pageID (or any other variable) of the page that is being displayed upon.

Conecting Rest Of The Site In Flash Header
I have been almoust done with customizing monster tamplate but there is one thing left I have problems with. In flash header I have trouble inserting links of other pages of the site. I can do this by clicking on lbrary (macromedia mx) then find movie clip and paste link i want to connect. However problem is that these clips or whatever they are, have that mouse up affect, so visitor have to click exaclly on text to open new page. if it is not clicked on text (bit lower) brownser opens some junk page.
any ideas how to fix this?

Flash Header STAYS In Dynamic Site
Hey all,
I wanted to build a site that included both flash and html. I wanted to create a flash header with the banner, graphics, navi and music; and have the rest of the site in HTML. But what I wanted to learn how to do is to just have the html part of the site change on the click of the buttons. I don?t want the flash to reload over and over again as we switch pages, so the music doesn?t have to start over and the animation docent have to reload all over again. If anyone can help in this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Sound Loop On Flash Header In HTML Site
I'm developing a hybrid HTML-flash, where each page has an flash head, the rest is static HTML. This flash component contains a sound loop (actually, 3 tracks), with the option of stopping all sounds. Problem is, when I go to another HTML page, the sound loads right up again. Rather annoying for those who would rather keep the sound off. Is there a way, without resorting to page frames, to keep the sound off when going to another page?

LoadMovie Relativity (header For Site)
The goal is to have a header that i can include in different flash movies.
I have created a header that loads its contents from an xml file and then displays everything. _root.loadMovie("header.swf") will load the movie into another flash movie, but nothing else on the stage shows up, so i try to load it into a mc called nav, and it screws up all of the paths and nothing draws out correctly. what do i do about this problem? the relative paths in flash confuse me enough, so i don't think it would be possible for me to change the paths, unless someone has a little instruction there.

notice how the paint blobs move nicely without any distortion or funny visual effects? I'm just wondering how I can duplicate that. I'm using a high frame rate (like 40) but I still get a bit of skipping and a bit of noise around the edges of the images...

Centering External Images + Site
Hello fellow programmers.
I've developed a flash site that loads images externally and centers them on the stage. The method of centering an external image is trickey, in order to center an image on the stage you need to know the width of the image you are loading... as far as i know the only way to find the width of a movie clip is to check it after it loads completely.
In this site, I have a function that loads the external image, a function that checks to see if the image is loaded completely and then a function that waits an additional 500ms ... and finally a function that finds the width of the clip, centers it on stage, and fades it from 0 to 100.
The problem is that if you play around with the site long enough you will notice glitches... the image is not always centered before it fades in... I have no idea why this happens... has anyone had good experience with centering external images? what would be a better method of doing this?

Quick question: I've noticed on sites such as yahoo, gorillamask, etc. that no matter how far wide you stretch the browser window, the site content always stays centered. I thought that was controlled in the publish settings under HTML>Flash alignment. Not the case. Does anyone know how this is done?

Flash Header Help
I purchased a precreated flash header - I also have other links within the pages that load. The script tells the header to show the link as active when it loads - problem is the only button that ever thinks its active is home. I don't know how to make it think otherwise.

Does anyone know of a way to have a flash header on a web page and only change the content part of the page while keeping the flash from reloading. I've tried using iframes however it just looks weird with a scroll bar only going up 3/4 of the page. I'm thinking that there has to be some kind of javascript or ajax script that help me out.

Flash Header Help
I'm trying to make a simple flash header with text that somehow fades in and then stays there. Attached is the header with just static text now. I'm very new to flash. Can someone explain the easiest way to do this?
I'd also be interested in learning how to fade in and out 3 different sentences one after another and then after the final sentence fades out, my website tagline will appear and stay there without fading out.

Looking To Add A Flash Header Using CSS
I had a really nice bit of help on here the last time I asked a question regarding Flash (thanks again, an00bis), so I figured I'd depend on you lovely people once more for some help.
I made a Flash header for the web site of a friend of mine and just now found out that he is using GoDaddy's 'Web Site Tonight' publishing tool, so I can't just go in and edit the HTML. Similarly, I can't add the Flash header using the Go Daddy service's tools because it only has an editable space of something like 220px. I was told, though, that via the CSS I could overlay the Flash video on top of the current header? (I guess using absolute positioning and giving it precedence over the other content)
If possible, I would greatly appreciate if someone could give me a few hints as to how this might be achieved. If it's of any help...

Flash Header Is Floating Around?
I designed a site using Flash and Dreamweaver. There is a flash top banner area with html text below that in tables. For some reason, if you scroll down on the page, the flash banner will reappear wherever you stop scrolling. This doesn't happen on all computers. So far, I've only heard reports of it happening on a mac. Can anyone give me any insight on this? Here's the site, if you'd like to take a look:

Does anybody know where I can get a cool hi tech looking flash header with animaiton,Music, and buttons for my links that I can use as a frame in frontpage and put my html content below the flash header? Essential I want a cool flash header with the effects, but my links are going to be pictures, message board, etc, so I have to use html for my content, right? Can I have the flash header on top (frozen frame like in MS Excel)and when I click the flash buttons for my links, the corespoding HTML pages loades below it.

How To Ad Search In Flash Header
I am not very familiar with flash, but use it periodically in headers. I have a site that I am trying to activate the search bar located in the header. Flash Header Load Once
My site consists of a flash header/menu and a main body of html/asp. The flash menu in the header changes the pages in the mainbody. This is done with 2 frames (frameset not flash frames), this stops the flash header/menu running again as the header/menu is built as an initial animation.
But I don't want to use frames.....but yes you guessed it, If I don't use frames eash time I click a menu option, the new page loads and the header/menu animation re-runs.
Is there away of telling the flash header not to run again as this visitor has already seen the animation. I have seen few posts regarding sharedObjects but nothing concrete in a solution for this.

doe's anyone know how to do a random maths function in flash 8. I have a project which works real well in flash5, and am currently cleaning up some old work and having opened the old project in my newer version of flash, it won't work?

oh and while i am here i am having problems with music-- the coffeecup software has the ability to add mp3 or wave files to the movie-- and if the music file is too short u can add time to it by clicking on a + sign and basically the file simply starts playing again--
however there is a glitch between the ending of the song and the beginning of the next sequence--hope that makes sense- its kind of hard to explain
-- i have tried everything to fix it but nothing works so i just found a longer song and that solved my problem but i am wondering if anyone here can tell me why there is a glitch- and how to fix it --

Flash Header Constant
Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know if it is possible to make a flash header and keep it "constant" while the user is navigating from page to page. Ultimately, the visual effect would be similar to putting it into a frameset where the header is always present without having to be refreshed. I'd like to be able to do this without frames but wasn't sure what the best way was. Any insight would be most appreciated. Thanks

Flash Header And Menu
Hi all,
Here is the background.
I am currently recoding a website that was done in Flash. The company I work for has spent over $10,000 on the site redesign and hired me on after the website infrastructure (links) was already finished.
Here is the problem.
I have a Flash header that loads at the index.html file. Unfortunately, after every link is clicked in the menu, the header file reloads and replays as well as the menu which are both done in Flash. The only thing that should load is the text within the site.
What I am trying to do is possible with the frameset tag but I am not certain if it can be done in Flash (or Dreamweaver).
