Sliding In/sliding Out Images Using Actionscript
I know I should probably know how to do this by know but I'm stuck.
How do I create this effect using Actionscript?

When a user clicks on button "1" the image slides in from the left. When the user chooses to view image "2" image one slides out of the way and image two then slides in. I would like to do this using Actionscript because there's going to be a bunch of pictures that are part of this slideshow. It's how to tell the Flash player how to slide out the current image and slide in the new image that I'm struggling with. Forgive my lameness.
I'm also trying to do this without dynamically loading each image everytime they click on a button. The reason for this is so all the images load at once, thereby eliminating the delay that would occur as each image loads after a user clicks a button. A fellow Flashkit member(Garbage) suggested I do this using a Library clip (all the images placed on a keyframe of a movieClip that are referenced per button click) but I'm not sure how to do this (goToAndPlay?).
Any help or guidance would be most appreciated.

Help With Sliding Slideshow

I am a print designer who has been trying to learn the technical side of webdesign. Specifically motion graphics. I know what I am looking to do, but mostly don't have the technical knowledge to pull it off. I am just looking for someone to point in the right direction and I can then explore it.

Sliding Slideshow With XML
Hi

Bit of an ask but does anyone know of a good tutorial that shows you how to create a sliding left/right slideshow (when the mouse goes left/right), the slides get bigger in the middle of the slideshow and smaller on the edges and you can control what's in the slides via XML files??

Anything to start me off would be great.

Please Help With Sliding Menu Static Copy Works, Sliding Doesn't
I have a copy of the same sliding tab menu. On has actionscipt on the MC telling it to slide in/out. The other does not.

The moving one loses all it's sub-timeline actions.

The static one works fine. How do I get the moving to work?

Please help.

Sliding Menu - Need MC To Play After Sliding Has Finished
Hi,

I have created a Sliding Menu with about 12 sections. In one of the section/s I have a MC inside that I want to play. Is there a way to tell a MC to play once sliding has completed? Say based on pixel position (of the sliding MC) or something similar?

At the moment I'm using "on release" but with this method, the animation starts too early. (By the time you slide from section 1 to 12 the MC has already started playing)...

Any ideas?

can anyone show me some light on how this works.

i want to make a vertical column with small square pics aligned one on thop of the other, for like maybe 10 pics, and i want them to be clicable (buttons lo loadmovies) and how do i make this column slide up and down related to the position of the mouse when in moves over it.

Hi, I have this site running ( www.skter.com ) and it is still in the making. I am trying to make an image slide in as a pop-up but an IN FLASH one, so when it slides in, there can be a button in the image that closes it as well. Any help would be great. Thanks.

im trying to create a slide bar that controls a set of images that is a 360 degree rotation of an object. i have 16 images of the object that each one is a progression of a 360 rotation of the object. they are all in a movie clip and there is one on each frame. i have set my slider based on coordintes and want my movie clip that has the images to go to the next frame each time the slider is slide past another 20 coordinates.

here is an example of a web page that has a movie that im trying to do.

here is code im trying to use for this.

my slider bar is 320 pixles and starts at pixle number 110. since there are 16 images i want to change the image every 20 pixles either back or forth. when i use this code the slider._x is just setting the slider to the position and the tell target is working but when i slide it nothing happens. i though that since the slider._x was in the if statement it would not effect the slider unless it hit on of the numbes it is looking for. please help

Hi all

I want to create a some slides that instead of just appearing on on top of another they slide in from left to right pushing the previous image out left or right. I have followed a tutorial that has allowed me to create this:

This is the effect that I want except instead of having a separate button for each image I would prefer a arrow for left and right and each time you click each then the image slides across by one at a time. Plus when you are at either the beginning or end the the appropriate button will ghost out so it can't be clicked.

Hi all,

I am a newbie then dont laught at me if I have some questions.

- I want to make a sliding images from the left to right. For example, there are 5 images and they will start from the left. (I know how to do this stuff)

- When the last image is sliding, the first image will hook up. Thus, my sliding images will be a linking images. For example, image 1 -> image 2 -> image 3 -> image 4 -> image 5 -> image 1 (again)

- Whenever a mouse is over on any image, speed of string of those images will be slow down.

I'm trying to get a sliding interface going with the buttons (that move the interface) moving along with it.

Sliding Images Menu
Hiya,

I have seen this kinda thing done loadsa time b4, and i have had a look around for awhile now, but cant find wat im looking for.

Wat im looking to build is a menu like the one on http://www.dieselmarketing.com whereby the images scroll repeatedly round, and slows down/stops depending on the mouse position.

I know there should be, and probably is loadsa things out there on this - but for some reason i cant find nething.

If anyone could tell me how ud do this, or just point me in the right direction i would really appreciate it.

Sliding Images Behind Menu
Ok, well I'm making a scrolling nav banner that is using this style. I can't seem to get it to scroll though, and when I launch it in a browser, it resizes itself to the window. I've uploaded the source file so you can see what I've done so far. I've only started using F8 since last night (7/22/06) and I don't know enough code or about the program to understand what's really going wrong. I do know that I get this error message:

I understand what this means, but if I move the code to anywhere but where it currently resides, then it won't work anyway. I got this far because of this tutorial. I've searched around on this and other sites and looked at dozens of similar posts, but havent found any definite answers. I realize (now) that my code is not recommended for this type of thing. I need to know all the code to put in and where it goes. I'm not used to the code and what part is a variable and what's not. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Dynamic Images Sliding On? How Can I Do?

i have a problemo that is stumping me

What i need to do is load in a series of images form an xml fine. That bit i am happy with and done

However waht i need to be bale to do is:

Split these images into rows of 4 (max 5 rows so 20 images per screen) and animate them coming on in these rows.

I also need to be able to have a next and back button. So if there are more than 20 then it takes then it animates them off and pulls back the next lot. obviosuly if less than 20 then it only displays the amount.

Sliding Images When Mouse Over A Button?
Ive seen some web sites have some images or slides somewhere on the web site, when you hover over a button/link, the images will move left to right or whatever. Anyway the images will move automaticaly to the appropiate images.

e.g. the links/buttons are about,contact,home

when yo hover over "about" the images will move left to right (its like a banner type) to the image that represent about. When you hover over "contact" it'll move from "about" to "contact, from left to right or I am sure that we can set it to move whichever direction.

I've seen this everywhere, but I am not sure what is the appropiate name for it and I have searched thru the forum and not so sure if "easing" is what I am looking for..??

I hope someone can help and I hope I have explained it good enough...

Real QTVR - Not Sliding Images
I've been researching implementing QTVR in flash and have seen the examples throughout both flashkit and actionscript.org. All the examples slide images like:

But, notice how the building looks like it is curved. This is from the distortion of the images and stitching software.

When QuickTime is used, the distortions are corrected.

Everything that is suppossed to be straight, is. In the original image that is stitched, the image bows and is distorted, but when rendered by Quicktime, it "wraps" it properly to give it the straight edge.

I've seen the tutorials and examples of QTVR in flash, but they are just sliding large panoramic images. The problem is theses panoramic images are distorted and warped, so when they are just slid, they remain distorted and warped.

Anyone have anything to exactly mimic a QTVR in flash rather than just slide images?

I have an idea on how to do it, but only for a specified number of items and for what I can see from the clip I think it's all dynamic...

How To-sliding Menu With Moving Images Below

You can see when you position the mouse on the buttons "movement, illustration", etc you can see below the buttons a "sliding menu" effect showing pictures and if you move the mouse to the next button it follows it. Ive tried the tutorial Sliding Menu posted here but the "mask" doesnt move, and thats what im trying to do here.
I can post the .fla sample ive done but is the same as the tutorial (sliding menu).

Movie Clip That Has Images Sliding Across The Sceen
I am creating a flash animation for the top (title) of my web site. I would like to create a movie clip that will continue to play aslong as the person is at the page. What I want to play in it is a "train" of images that slide across the screen. This animation will loop so it continues to play repeatedly. Does anyone have any advice on how to do this. I've looked for a tutorial, but can't find any.
